Just got my BFP after six bloody long months of trying. Thrilled but a bit weirded out! Anyone in the same boat?

@MissHoney85 it's lovely telling people isn't it. I'd told everyone before the wee was dry on the pregnancy test this time!

Did your sister have boys or girls when she craved salty snacks and didn't have much sickness? I'm wondering if there are clues to the sex even at this early stage? I've got girls and have also wanted sweet things and juicy fruit and been horrendously nauseous throughout.

MissHoney85 · 31/05/2020 12:00

She had two boys and a girl so not much of a clue there! She's always been a crisp fiend to be honest so not very surprising that she craved them.

Dia12 · 31/05/2020 15:54

I just got back from a last minute arranged scan and so pleased to say we saw a little heartbeat. Absolutely still can't believe it, as I was convinced it had all gone wrong.

The measurements have me at 6+2 and not at 7 as I had calculated from my ovulation.

So, so relieved.

footprintsintheslow · 31/05/2020 16:31

Great news@Dia12 a big relief for you.

MissHoney85 · 31/05/2020 17:07

@Dia12 that's great news! And relax 😊

Dia12 · 31/05/2020 17:14

Thank you both. Just trying to recover from the massive anxiety headache I gave myself.

Going to try to focus on being positive now 🤞🏼

Lilo08 · 31/05/2020 17:44

Hi everyone and congrats!
I am 39 and got my bfp last week. I’m around 5w 4d and due 28th jan
I have an 11 year dd and have been trying since she turned 3 and recently ntnp.
I’m super excited but also worried about any extra complications my age could bring. I haven’t told a single soul so would be nice to talk about it here

Onekidnoclue · 31/05/2020 18:37

@Dia12 that’s wonderful! You’ll sleep so well tonight without the extra worry.

@Lilo08 hi and congrats. There are a couple of us “extra mature” ladies on here Grin
I haven’t told anyone in real life either and am loving this little group. X

@Onekidnoclue thanks. Good see some of us in the same boat. No symptoms so far. Just waiting for it all to turn on suddenly
I tried the Facebook link but it doesn’t seem to be working or it must be a super top secret club Grin

footprintsintheslow · 31/05/2020 19:46

@Lilo08 you are just a spring chicken. I'm 40 with a 20 year old! Glad you are here after all your waiting. X

Opelbow · 01/06/2020 07:16

This is my first baby so I'm reading books. This book, a modern midwife guide to pregnancy, birth and beyond. Is every empowering and non judgmental. It helps guide you through pregnancy with the NHS in the UK. What you can ask for, what to expect.

I'm finding really useful.

Due January - anyone else?
gracex4 · 02/06/2020 20:25

Hey ladies
Hope I'm ok to join I'm due 11th jan 😆

Dia12 · 02/06/2020 20:30

Welcome to the group @gracex4. Is this your first pregnancy? How are you doing?

gracex4 · 02/06/2020 20:34

I'm good thank you no not my first but I'm still so excited with this one, my morning sickness has been dreadful I've had days where I am fine and days like today where I can barely move 🤮

WindsorBlues · 02/06/2020 20:37

Welcome Grace, I'm so happy my morning sickness finally seems to have passed. Are you feeling any different with this pregnancy (symptom wise) that you did with your first?

gracex4 · 02/06/2020 20:39

Just the sickness really everything else feels the same although I've put on weight rapidly the last two weeks and thought it maybe twins but actually it's just me being a pie 😳 so I went for an early scan which was nice and put me 3 days further then I thought yes I'm counting days haha

BabyDust13 · 02/06/2020 20:59

@Opelbow I've been looking for a book to order I'll give this a go thanks

Dia12 · 02/06/2020 22:05

I'm a little confused about something, or more likely, I'm over thinking here - perhaps someone could just shake some sense into me.

My hcg levels at dates according to my LMP:
5+2= 2607 iU/l
5+5= 5422 iU/l

My early scan on Sunday meant I was 7+2
But measurements dated embryo to be 6+2 and at 6mm.
A week behind, doesn't seem to be too bad, until I started thinking about hcg levels which would have been too high for 4+2 and 4+5, right?

Does this mean the little embryo is actually 7w plus but just struggling to grow so is showing to be a week behind? Is this the slow decline to the end? Is growth non-linear?
Uff !

gracex4 · 02/06/2020 22:16

I really think your over thinking this hun I did a pt and 1 line so I was like oh ok walk down stairs half an hour later DH says do u realise there is 2 lines I thought we left it so long it was faulty did another test no 2 lines at all did a clear blue and was 2-3 weeks I've had a scan there deffo a baby with heart beat but if I didn't do the date test I would believe I wasn't

Dia12 · 02/06/2020 22:39

It's crazy how much variation there is in everything. You're right, I'm definitely over thinking it Blush

Onekidnoclue · 03/06/2020 07:24

@Dia12 I wouldn’t put too much store in early scan measurements-or an scan measurements really- they’re a very clumsy system.
The most important issue is the heartbeat. X

Hi ladies, late to the party. I'm due beginning Jan (7th) but have been experiencing HG so been on that group. Would be lovely to share some excitement to try and perk my mood.

Huge, huge congratulations to you all!

gracex4 · 03/06/2020 07:56

Hiya I'm late too I only joined yesterday welcome ☺️

Dia12 · 03/06/2020 08:16

Thanks @onekidnoclue - you're right. It is an I exact science - the heartbeat is the important factor.
Ah someone fastford to July please!!!!

Welcome @Seeker2020 and congrats!
