Just got my BFP after six bloody long months of trying. Thrilled but a bit weirded out! Anyone in the same boat?

@Dia12 ditto! I find out what I'm having on the 27th July ☺️

Dia12 · 03/06/2020 08:29

Are you going to find out the sex! So exciting! Gets very very real then doesn't it!

I want to but then don't want to. Want to be surprised (although really, not much of a surprise when there are only 2 options) but then also want to be able to prepare etc. Although I've already decided it's a boy......

gracex4 · 03/06/2020 08:51

I am! I was so sure I was having a boy but now I think it maybe a girl lol so who knows. That's the thing I like to get organised and also the excitement is it's a baby I know some people dead against finding out I think it makes you even more excited because you can pick name and be ready for that small person

Seeker2020 · 03/06/2020 10:22

Thanks so much all :)

Dia12 · 03/06/2020 15:39

I'm just so tired all the time, I'm barely doing anything and I feel exhausted 😩

The weather has turned a bit pants now too and I'm less incentivised to go for a walk - really should be doing some form of exercise every day but so tired 😑

gracex4 · 03/06/2020 15:42

I'm just turning into a big fat pie I've had to stop working due to c19 and I spend most of the day eating ! I've lost the energy to do anything and morning sickness doesn't help I'm lucky to get the washing done tbh

SkylinesTurnstiles · 03/06/2020 16:10

Are you guys actually being sick much? Or bad nausea?
I have been sick once a day for the last week. Seems to be in the evening! So much for morning sickness haga

gracex4 · 03/06/2020 16:27

Very rarely actually sick just feel constantly hungover 🤮

Onekidnoclue · 03/06/2020 16:48

I’m just nauseous. Weirdly hasn’t stopped from eating like a pig Confused tbh for me the sickness is worst when I’m hungry.
On the plus side even the thought of booze is grim so I’m not missing gin Grin

@Onekidnoclue OMG yes!! I literally haven’t stopped eating! I did eat a fruit salad this morning though and can’t lie, that’s the first amount of considerable amount fruit I’ve eaten since I found out 😳

gracex4 · 03/06/2020 17:19

I can't stop eating the only time I don't feel sick is when I'm shoving food in my face 🤣oink

SkylinesTurnstiles · 03/06/2020 17:51

Glad I’m not the only one XD

Dia12 · 03/06/2020 17:56

Same here! So strange that when I eat I feel less nauseous- I really did think my body's got it the wrong way around. Glad I'm not alone!

Onekidnoclue · 03/06/2020 18:59

Ha! You’ve empowered me to up my scoffing! Now I can chalk it up as a symptom not just piggy! Funny I can’t face fruit either. I want really salty food. Anything sweet is sickly.
Back to the marmite Grin

footprintsintheslow · 03/06/2020 19:40

I'm eating tonnes too...basically every 45 minutes.
The nausea is horrific and I feel so weak. I've had two naps today and still feel tired and lethargic. I bought the sickness bands which arrived today so need to try those out.

I can't wait for this phase to end as it's just not me at all.

gracex4 · 03/06/2020 20:32

I have to stop eating tmi 😳now I can't go to the loo and look 6mths! Ladies this is a crap trimester I know it's amazing we are carrying humans but I think my human isn't my biggest fan right now

gracex4 · 03/06/2020 20:33

@footprintsintheslow let me no how the bands go. I brought a scent that you rub under your nose didn't work for me intact I think the smell makes me gag 😆

nmw93 · 03/06/2020 21:25

Due 16th January and absolutely petrified!

gracex4 · 03/06/2020 22:01

@nmw93 hey hun congrats 🥳 please don't be petrified do u wanna share why? X

nmw93 · 03/06/2020 22:07

@gracex4 thank you! I’ve wanted to be a mum for so long and was initially elated. I had an early scan at 7 weeks and cried when I saw the little heart beating. The last few days I’ve just had really intense anxiety that I’m not going to be a good mum or I’m not going to bond with the baby. I have suffered with anxiety for many years and have been on long term medication so I am acutely aware that this may be playing into these anxieties but it’s just so hard to feel like this when I feel like I should be so over the moon. I feel like I can’t be happy about this experience and like it’s being ripped away from me by these fears.

Seeker2020 · 04/06/2020 05:34

Is it normal to feel just a general sense of feeling unwell in the first trimester? I'm at 9 weeks and feel just horrible....all the time!

gracex4 · 04/06/2020 08:13

@nmw93 oh hun bless u, it's pretty normal to feel like that being a new mum and in the current circumstances everyone is a little on edge.once you are out of your first trimester and you feel baby moving away I'm sure you will feel so different x

gracex4 · 04/06/2020 08:15

@Seeker2020 yes sadly for some it is and it isn't nice but it will pass. Im wishing my pregnancy to hurry up not enjoying it At all right now x

nmw93 · 04/06/2020 08:19

@gracex4 @Seeker2020 thank you for the kind words :) I am feeling rotten at the moment as well. Was at the doctors at 6 weeks due to excessive nausea and vomiting. I’ve been losing weight from not being able to eat and subsequently all I do is sleep! Can’t wait for the first trimester to be over! X

Onekidnoclue · 04/06/2020 08:38

@gracex4 congratulations! I’m so sorry your anxiety has ramped up a gear. I think it’s pretty common. I was fine in my first pregnancy but when he was born I had severe anxiety and pnd. There was actually a lot of support available and it made a huge difference to me. Perhaps your midwife could put you in touch with a group or a counsellor?
I’m on sertraline and suspect I will be for the rest of my life! It’s bloody excellent stuff and ok to take while pregnant. Clearly not for everyone but honestly I feel better knowing there is a medicine and it can help.
There are some apps for anxiety which I’ve found helpful too.
X
