Just got my BFP after six bloody long months of trying. Thrilled but a bit weirded out! Anyone in the same boat?

@WindsorBlues amazing thank you I fou d loads locally so will look at booking something I think to help me make it more real!
@SkylinesTurnstiles I’m 27 living in Nottinghamshire

What is everyone nausea trick? Have you found a healthy snack that make nausea temporarily go away?

Lovelife92 · 29/05/2020 21:08

@aliceGM they aren't particularly healthy, but ice pops 😂

Onekidnoclue · 29/05/2020 21:14

I’m nearly 40 and I’m the West Country (though I’m hopeful I haven’t picked up the twang).
So glad about the heartbeat at the early scan @Em39ma though HG sounds horrendous. I can barely cope with mild nausea!
@WindsorBlues I think it’s great you’re going for the scan as a team.
Window to the womb seem to be the go to choice for scans. Will see if there’s one here in case DH wants to come to. Tbf I think it’s more that I hate the idea of having to pass on bad news to him afterwards.
It’s weird I’m not really worried about there not being a heartbeat but I’m terrified of there being something wrong with the baby. I’m going to have the harmony blood tests if I want a bit of extra reassurance. Not sure how I can get one though as local private hospitals are closed for covid.

Hi guys I'm around 5+ weeks due mid January according to the midwife. I've booked an early scan next week. But I've been having terrible anxiety all week about losing this child, I've been testing every day. Sure it comes positive then I feel better, but I know looked it up and it says a positive test can show upto 2 weeks after a miscarriage. I've not been feeling pregnant these last few days, the bloating and constant burping has gone, breasts aren't as tingly. I have lower pelvic pain but no bleeding, period cramps that come and go. Is this normal??

footprintsintheslow · 30/05/2020 07:33

@MissHoney85 good luck with the scan and house today. How does viewing a house work at the moment?

@Onekidnoclue what tests do you get as part of the health board you are in? Have you spoken to your midwife yet?

@amazon1066 I think symptoms do come and go. I've been feeling as sick as a dog and then one day I felt right as rain and back to my normal self. I was petrified but all was well at my scan and the sickness is back full force.

MissHoney85 · 30/05/2020 08:01

@footprintsintheslow thanks! I've now scared myself by looking up how fast the fetal heart rate should be so have given myself another thing to worry about. Can't wait for it to be over now! As for house viewings, we will be provided with mask and gloves, can't touch anything and have to keep 2m from the estate agent. At least it should take my mind off things for a bit!

Opelbow · 30/05/2020 08:08

@MissHoney85 good luck hope everything goes well today.

I'm so please it's Saturday today, so tired. Just want to be sit all day.

Onekidnoclue · 30/05/2020 08:20

Hi @amazon1066 congratulations!
That does sound hideously stressful. It might not work for you but I find having a dedicated panic time each day helps. So I panic about a certain issue for half an hour a day and if I start to think about it another time I think “no. This is not my allocated time for stressing about miscarriage. I’ll do that later”.
Appreciate it’s a bit mental but it helps me stop being obsessed 24/7. X

@MissHoney85 good luck today!

@footprintsintheslow I get the usual ones. Didn’t know there were a selection! So they do measurements and stuff for downs and Edwards and something else at the scan and I think that’s it. I’d just rather have the Harmony test to be more confident as I’m that bit older.

Argh slight spanner in the scan works, my OH is having a freak out about the safety of it and really doesn't want to do it. Have made a thread about it to see if anyone can give me any convincing arguments, but I can kind of see his point and don't want to stress him out so looks like we're not doing the scan after all 🙁 maybe it's best not to know anyway! Just a shame after counting down for so long, wish he could have done his research earlier...

Onekidnoclue · 30/05/2020 10:17

Oh no! @MissHoney85. Will look for your other thread x

@SkylinesTurnstiles I’m 25 also from south of England! Smile

footprintsintheslow · 30/05/2020 12:08

@MissHoney85 is your OH also cancelling the house viewing?

I can't see the other thread you said about but to be honest if I had a scan booked I'd be going with or without him 😬. What grounds does he think its unsafe?

footprintsintheslow · 30/05/2020 12:27

I've found the thread and posted on that. Good luck!

WindsorBlues · 30/05/2020 17:40

Just back from my scan Grin I thought I was 9 weeks but she's placed me at 7+4, all looks well and healthy. Well worth the £70 as I can feel myself feeling excited instead of worried.

Dia12 · 30/05/2020 17:54

Congrats @WindsorBlues Thanks that's wonderful! Nice to be able to enjoy your good news.
Did you track your ovulation or had you estimated from your LMP?

WindsorBlues · 30/05/2020 18:07

It was LMP but my cycles are way off and it was the first one I'd had since September.

Onekidnoclue · 30/05/2020 18:31

Great @WindsorBlues. So glad you’re in a more positive place.

@WindsorBlues amazing news! I’m going to book mine next week after I’ve had my first midwife phone call.

footprintsintheslow · 30/05/2020 20:07

Lovely news @WindsorBlues. Do they give you a photo even though it's a tiny bean?

WindsorBlues · 30/05/2020 21:04

Yes I got a print out of the bean and a USB with a few more. I'm work from home atm and I keep my laptop is strictly off at the weekends so haven't checked out the USB yet it'll be something to look forward to on Monday Morning

footprintsintheslow · 31/05/2020 06:49

@MissHoney85 how was the house viewing?

MissHoney85 · 31/05/2020 07:09

@footprintsintheslow it was good, the house needs a ton of work which could be a pain esp if we have a baby, but the situation of the house is amazing and houses like it don't come up very often. Think we're going to put a cheeky offer in but not really expecting anything of it. Something to take my mind off pregnancy stuff anyway!

footprintsintheslow · 31/05/2020 09:08

@MissHoney85 exciting times! Are you over the scan disappointment? You are obviously very nice to compromise like you did and that next scan will be here before you know it.

MissHoney85 · 31/05/2020 09:47

@footprintsintheslow it was a bit of a disappointment after counting down to the scan for so long. I told my sister to make up for it, as we were going to tell family yesterday if the scan went well. It was really good to tell her, and quite reassuring too - she's a bit older and has had 3 kids so I could compare notes with her, and it turns out she didn't have much by way of nausea either so I feel a bit reassured. She said she craved salty snacks like crisps early on, which makes sense of why I broke into the ancient packet of Doritos in the cupboard the other day!
