Just got my BFP after six bloody long months of trying. Thrilled but a bit weirded out! Anyone in the same boat?

Poor you @Lauraha85 - are doctors able to give you anti sickness tablets? I really don't know how you manage it, I've had a lucky escape but have piled on the pounds as a result!
Not sure which one is better!

Goldings28 · 29/06/2020 17:59

Due 3/1/21 first baby for me !

WhoUsedMyName · 29/06/2020 18:41

If anyone is using reusable nappies or want to try them once you have your mattb1 form you can order £100 worth for free from your local council a friend told me today.

Lauraha85 · 29/06/2020 19:18

@Dia12- you are soooo lucky you don't have sickness , I can honestly say I think I would prefer to eat and put weight on lol - I just can't bare the thought of eating anything, I am so ready to get my appetite back.

@Goldings28 wcome to the due in Jan club , I'm due 18th. How are you feeling ?

Goldings28 · 29/06/2020 19:20

Hi had a good past couple of weeks no nausea but then feel rough as hell the past few days !!

angelascott · 29/06/2020 19:52

@lauraha85 I'm the same, my sickness has become worse, can't eat anything now without being sick after, I'm ready to enjoy nice food again but at min struggling with plain toast or plain biscuits 😭 x

Lauraha85 · 29/06/2020 21:54

@angelascott mine has got worse too and my sense of smell is so heightened I can sniff anything out which makes me want to vomit 🤢
I really hope it gives us a break soon 🙏

angelascott · 29/06/2020 22:01

Yeah I'm same @lauraha85 I can smell anything and that's it I'm sick... Living with my fiance and my two Foster boys means there is always funny smells as well 😂😭🤮

footprintsintheslow · 30/06/2020 07:51

@WhoUsedMyName we use reusable nappies bin our local authority you get one free and the a you can buy a bulk lot for a reduced price. I shall be definitely getting my free one again though

Lauraha85 · 30/06/2020 08:10

@angelascott I feel for you living with 3 boys - we have a dog my partner has to spray before I come down in the morning cause I just cannot cope with the smell

angelascott · 30/06/2020 08:12

@lauraha85 yep we have an old dog too who stinks at times as well 🤮 I'm hoping my sickness starts to reduce at 12 weeks xx

Lauraha85 · 30/06/2020 08:40

@angelascott - let's pray it does - when is your 12 week scan , sorry if you have already told me before #babybrain lol 😆

angelascott · 30/06/2020 08:43

Not received it yet hopefully will do this week, I have my diabetes glucose test through though for October 😂. We are 10 weeks today (acc to measurements from most recent scan on Saturday) x

Tink2020 · 30/06/2020 08:50

I’m ten weeks tomorrow. I fetched for the second time today.. was awful and made me so grateful I haven’t been sick yet. Booking a private scan for next week as our hospital is not changing the line scan appointments yet 😢

Opelbow · 30/06/2020 09:40

I'm going to tell my boss today. I've got a Skype meeting with him at 3pm.

Has anyone else told work yet?

Lauraha85 · 30/06/2020 09:44

@Opelbow I have told work - my manager was lovely I was so worried as I have only just recently joined the team

Onekidnoclue · 30/06/2020 09:55

I’m not telling work until I really have to. Dreading the reaction Sad
I’m hoping I can get to the last possible day before I have to fess up!

Tink2020 · 30/06/2020 10:02

I had to tell my boss last week as they were recalling me from furlough and our company is keeping pregnant women at home so had to tell her.

angelascott · 30/06/2020 10:27

Yeah I told mine as they monitor everything and query when computer goes inactive no good when your sick all the time x

Onekidnoclue · 30/06/2020 10:42

Ah! I think I’m lucky.
I’m not monitored that closely, provided I can get stuff done it’s ok.
Having said that they’re hideously sexist and I’ll definitely get left off good projects when they find out so it’s swings and roundabouts!

Onekidnoclue · 30/06/2020 10:43

@Tink2020 does that mean you’re still on furlough? Will that impact mat pay?

OP posts:
Opelbow · 30/06/2020 10:53

I'm quite nervous about telling as I work in engineering. I'm don't know if my boss as ever has this conversation. Up until 2 months a go I was the only female in the team.

I've look through all the HR intranet pages it doesn't mention pregnancy at all.

At least working from home as made it easy to hide. I'm only telling him now as soon I will want to tell my friends at work. It's the kinda of place where news travels. So he needs to hear it from me first.

Tink2020 · 30/06/2020 11:25

@Onekidnoclue I am Still on Furlough until the company decide it’s safe enough for me and another pregnant colleague to go back. It’s the same for mums with school children too. They said it shouldn’t affect our maternity pay as we are still employed by the company and accruing holidays and benefits

angelascott · 30/06/2020 11:31

@Onekidnoclue my work monitors everything it's ridiculous. Even when you do more work than what's expected they still pick at everything and tar everyone with the same brush... Part of reason why I'm on sick leave x

When I told my boss she asked if I had thought about leaving 🙄

Lauraha85 · 30/06/2020 11:38

@Opelbow if there is women in the company then there should be a pregnancy at work policy- I would call HR and ask them to send you a copy , they have to keep your confidentiality so won't say anything - just so you know your f
Grounds before telling your manager
