Just got my BFP after six bloody long months of trying. Thrilled but a bit weirded out! Anyone in the same boat?

angelascott · 09/06/2020 09:50

Good luck @Hopefulmummie with the scan today, thinking of you x

Dragon82 · 09/06/2020 10:13

@Hopefulmummie wishing you all the best with your scan today. Will be thinking of you all morning

Hopefulmummie · 09/06/2020 10:33

So midwife couldn't see any sign of pregnancy in my womb or anywhere else for it to be ectopic but said it doesn't sound like I've bled enough for it to me a miscarriage. She's getting a Dr to come up to rescan me as doesn't know what's going on.
But seems like bad news :(

Dia12 · 09/06/2020 10:48

Could they see a gestational sac? I'm sorry this is such a stressful time for you @Hopefulmummie. There is always the chance when it's quite early on that they can't see the embryo. Wishing you lots of luck x

Hopefulmummie · 09/06/2020 10:50

@dia12 she didn't say but there was a white round outline on the screen.
Would this be it)

gracex4 · 09/06/2020 10:55

Oh hun praying for you. Did they do an internal scan? X

Dia12 · 09/06/2020 10:56

Yep that would be it - dark round space with a bright outline.
I was told around 6w it's quite common not to be able to see an embryo in that sac.
So don't lose hope just yet - hope the dr can provide some answers for you.
May be can take your blood again and monitor hcg levels as they can be a good indicator about pregnancy progression in the early stages.

Onekidnoclue · 09/06/2020 10:57

@Hopefulmummie what miserable news. I hope it’s just too early to see something clearly. They are only the size of a poppy seed this early. Stay strong. X

@Hopefulmummie I am so sorry to hear about what you’re going through, I hope that the doctors and midwife can give you clear answers soon :(. My thoughts are with you. Xx

@Onekidnoclue You message about the physic of a dart player made me giggle. Honestly I’ve been so bloated past few weeks. So much burping too, I’m a bundle of elegance, my poor husband!

5 hours until my early scan! Excited, nervous, apprehensive. Such a mix of emotions. But right now I feel like I have a giant hangover, I can’t wait for first trimester to be over.

Does anyone know when you usually start showing (it’s my first, so I know it takes bit longer).

Onekidnoclue · 09/06/2020 11:21

@AliceGM fingers crossed for the scan. How far long are you?
I think it varies hugely from person to person. Mainly based on your tummy before hand in my experience. I was slim before DS but no muscles in my belly so got a pot belly quite fast and by the time I told people at 14 weeks it was starting to show.
I think if you’re a bit curvier or have abs to hold you in it won’t be noticeable until later.
Having said that my theories are often utter shit Grin
I’m only 7 weeks now with my second and think I look bloody big! Thankfully tits have filled out which is (a) now the only part of me that looks decent and (b) makes my gut look smaller

Hope you don't mind if I join, ladies? I'm due 16th January with my first baby.
@Hopefulmummie I've just read through your posts, I'm so so sorry you're going through this. On Saturday I has a heavy bleed of red blood when I hadn't had any bleeding before. I also started having really sore cramps and a total loss of pregnancy symptoms and I was convinced of the worst. Even though I hadn't had any more bleeding, I was advised to go into hospital where I had pee tests and a scan and I was lucky enough to see the heartbeat, so everything looks ok, but no real explanation for why there was bleeding. I was totally utterly convinced I was is miscarrying, especially when the doctor had to do an internal scan to find the baby. I wouldn't wish that feeling on anyone, keeping all fingers and toes crossed for you xx

Onekidnoclue · 09/06/2020 11:26

Hi @belalice welcome to the club.
I bled a lot with my DS. No idea why and he’s robust despite having a well meaning but misguided dr tell me to assume the worst.

I think it’s really common but it happens at a stage when people aren’t talking about it so the awareness isn’t there.

@Onekidnoclue I’m 9 + 2 Husband is so excited for the scan bless him.
Good thing I’m working from home because I’m not sure what work clothes I would fit in right now (plus bonus to having access To fridge and to toilets easily, because as a Secondary teacher that is a major issue with no time to go)
Haha I completely agree with the boobs! My husband said that makes it look more «balanced» with my bloated belly Hmm I’m sure he meant it as a compliment.

Hopefulmummie · 09/06/2020 11:29

so the Dr rescanned me and seen an ectopic pregnancy :( I can't believe it I'm so gutted.

I had to give bloods and they are gonna ring me to come back in in 2 hours to talk through treatment. It will either be an injection or surgery.

Thank you all for your thoughts I appreciate it x

gracex4 · 09/06/2020 11:34

They are letting my husband come back down with me which is good
