Replying to everyone in a new thread as the old one is full! Also tagging @Lemonysherbet @ELW85 @MrsH497 @LokiCat @larrydavid - so sorry if I’m forgetting anyone!

@MrsR16 It’s so weird, I was thinking back to getting my BFP for the twins the other day - some days it feels like yesterday but others it feels like a lifetime ago! I bet now Ethans here the pregnancy also feels like a distant memory!!

@TrashKitten10 Ah thanks lovely - wow a 9 pounder!! Well done you! I will definitely let everyone know as soon as I can once the twins are here :)

@PippaPug Thanks lovely! How are you feeling at the moment? Funnily enough they don’t do the steroid injections at my hospital if you’re going to deliver post 37 weeks so I’ve managed to swerve that one - how have you found them? Hurray for big babies - looks like we’re both going to have some chunky twins on our hands!! Do you find you are constantly congratulated at hospital for keeping them in so long/growing them so big?! I get it every time!

@Fivebyfive2 Joe is adorable! How was your first night away?

@thumper59 12 weeks! He is so so cute and I LOVE the matching jackets haha!

@purplefig Ugh the first lie in didn’t go to plan, I woke at 3 and couldn’t drift off again until 6... so glad it isn’t just us wobbling on names at the midnight hour! Yep ours will be Irish names - narrowing it right down and making it even harder for ourselves!! Hope you enjoyed your last yoga class!

Had a scare this morning; after a shocking night trying to sleep I woke quite late (well, around 9) - twin 2 dancing the jig as always but couldn’t feel twin 1 at all. I tried absolutely everything, I must have had a full litre of orange juice, chocolate, prodding at his side of my belly and I just got nothing. I called DH at 11 and just broke down, and we were soon off to triage. I literally cried all the way there! We had a CTG and as much as she struggled to find twin 1, he’s there and heart is pounding away. She told me he’s very low now, and position wise twin 2 is actually almost sitting on top of him so masking some of the stronger movements. The little swines! I’m so relieved, but it was horrible - I was terrified. Tracking twin movements is such a minefield!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)

@ELW85 my midwife told me they discuss it at the 36w appointment - do you have one next week? Maybe they'll discuss it then? The only reason they're possibly discussing it with me tomorrow is because of the GD I think so I wouldn't worry x

Oh god @MrsH497 I bruised too 😂 fx your results are all okay, but we're here either way 😊 I reckon it could just be the tests that the midwife does? I had those at the same time as my GD just to make it easier, I think they were the 24/26 routine ones? To check iron etc x

Ooh okay, good luck for next week 😊 ah you're a star!! I saw some sugar free ones in Asda yesterday and they were mad expensive, so I'll check out B&M Thankyou!! Hopefully the four weeks fly by for you, then you can breathe 😅 it's fun when the growth scan starts because time seems to fly by between them!! X

@purplefig that's exactly how I feel 😊

Ooh @Larrydavid it's definitely a lot better when the sickness goes!! I hope you enjoy it more from here x

@LikeTheFruit health visitor?! God how real does that sound 😂 can't believe you've finished work, how amazing does it feel?! I need to buy a ball! Ahhh fx you'll meet your baby soon too!!! So many babies on this thread!!! X

So ladies my scan was fantastic, Mini Cupcakes is no longer breech wahooooo, she's estimated at 4lb 13oz which explains the growth spurt (attached a bump pic for reference below) and also a scan of her beautiful face because she let me have a little look before she started wriggling away again. I welled up in the scan, I really can't wait to see her. It's so surreal 😭 I have my consultant appointment tomorrow so hopefully I can have some sort of control over my birth! X

purplefig · 18/02/2020 19:53

I've just had my bloody show!! I'm so excited...!! I hope this means things are imminent 🤞🏼

@MrsEG that's great advice 💕 and you guys are doing amazingly well looking after your TWO babies. Honestly, I'm in awe of you! How's the c-section recovery going?

@LikeTheFruit ooo lovely - enjoy your maternity leave. Any nice plans?

@cupcakesandglitter congrats on the excellent scan - amazing news she's not Breech any more. Well done baby!

cupcakesandglitter · 18/02/2020 20:23

Eeeek @purplefig best of luck!!! Keep us posted!! 💕 x

@pippapug hope everything is well with you and the twins 💕 xxx

ELW85 · 18/02/2020 20:56

Evening all!

Thanks for the birthday wishes - the Italian food and cake were amazing!! I now feel massive though 😢
And thanks for the tips on the birth plan; I’ve got a midwife appointment next week so I’ll mention it then.

@LikeTheFruit - congratulations on finishing up! How exciting 😃

@cupcakesandglitter - lovely photos! What an absolute cutie looking at you through the scan.

@purplefig - woohoo! Congratulations!! How exciting! I hope you’re feeling great, and please keep us informed. Good luck, although you won’t need it 😊

ELW85 · 18/02/2020 20:59

Pressed ‘post’ accidentally!

@Larrydavid - thank you for the birthday reassurance! I think it was a tired wobble but I need to factor in pregnancy to that!

@LokiCat - oh nightmare about the MatB1. I’m sure it’ll get sorted pretty quickly though 😊 I can’t believe how far on you are!

Larrydavid · 18/02/2020 21:00

@PippaPug and @purplefig good luck to both of you! I'm excited for you!!

@cupcakesandglitter gorgeous scan picture! Happy for you that she's turned around!

@MrsH497 I know right! So weird that everyone can suddenly have an opinion on everything you do! I'm trying to take all of it with a pinch of salt but if someone tries to touch the bum without invitation, I'm karate chopping them! I'm good thanks - feeling a bit more normal now and trying to cram in as much work as possible whilst I still have energy!

@LikeTheFruit enjoy your maternity leave!

cupcakesandglitter · 19/02/2020 10:58

Thanks @ELW85 glad you enjoyed your food and birthday 😊 hopefully MW goes through it with you next week x

Thanks @Larrydavid 😊 x

Sooooo I have an induction date!! They're happy with her, everything looks great and so I'm being induced at 38w on the 21st March!! Mother's Day is the 22nd so I'm praying she comes for then, that'd be amazing!! So exciting to have a date in 😭 we're not telling anyone at all because we want it to be special for us, so glad I have you all to tell! Xx

LokiCat · 19/02/2020 12:52

@purplefig eeeek!! It does sound like things are slowly happening. Keep us updated and best of luck!!

@PippaPug hope all is well lovely xx

@Larrydavid awww how cute that the baby reacted to the classical music!
Oh no, how annoying that they broke the legs on the cot! I hope it gets sorted quickly. Have they said how long you'll have to wait?
Yeah, I'm the same as you. I think once I have a plan in place and know what sort of things to look out for re labour, I'll feel a lot better!

@MrsH497 haha love that you have a perfected death stare? Have you had many people try and touch your bump? I couldn't deal with that!
Hope your second blood tests go okay x

@MrsEG glad to hear your little ones are getting there. Please don't beat yourself up about their first few weeks, you had great instinct and got them the help they needed!
Have they said more about your kidney infection? I hope you're okay ❤️

@LikeTheFruit yay! Congrats on finishing up 😊
Eeek, how exciting that you may be next!!
What are your birth preferences?

@cupcakesandglitter ahh how exciting you have an induction date!! It would be so cute if she comes on Mother's Day 🥰
So glad to hear that everything looks great and what a lovely scan photo! So happy for you 😁
So many babies coming, this is so exciting!

@ELW85 Italian food and birthday cake sounds so good 😍 I'm sure you look gorgeous; your body is doing an amazing thing growing a human.
I know, I'm finding it crazy how fast time is going. I still remember us all on TTC thread and then when we first got our BFPs! 🥰

WFH day, thankfully. I was struggling last night - I was in constant pain near my hips and couldn't get comfortable to sleep! So glad I didn't have to worry about an early start today!
Think DH and I may go for a Turkish meal tonight. Thankfully meat doesn't spike blood sugar levels, so I'm looking forward to it 🙊

Hope you're all doing well ❤️❤️

LikeTheFruit · 19/02/2020 13:55

@cupcakesandglitter I know. So worried what they'll think of our flat 😂😂. Very excited that you've got your induction date - are you going to try anything to try and make baby come sooner? Delighted for you that your clever baby has turned! Can't believe I've finished work, though in true doing a million things at once style I'm going to a course for 2 days next week ...maybe 😂

@purplefig I'm loving following your updates, so excited for you! So mat leave so far, went for afternoon tea with my mum yesterday, pedicure today, meeting friends and their babies thurs/fri. Also going to a work course next wed/thu too. Really need to spend some time at home nesting!! Hoping the instinct will kick in soon!! Good luck xxx

@ELW85 thanks! Can't believe I've no work for a year! How many more weeks have you to go before you finish up?

@Larrydavid thank you! Hope 2nd trimester is treating you well!

@LokiCat Essentially I'm hoping to avoid all my colleagues 😂😂 I'm hoping to deliver in the midwife lead unit which is directly below labour ward so still close to medical help if needed. Hoping to stay at home as long as possible and use the pool to labour but deliver out of pool. Definitely don't want diamorphine/morphine. I'd go straight to epidural if not coping. But, if I'm induced I'll probably change my mind!! In awe of you coping with the diabetes so well, I would find it so hard as i have the worst sweet tooth!!

ELW85 · 19/02/2020 18:27

@cupcakesandglitter - thank you my dear! How exciting on your induction date - we’re back to being EDD buddies as that’s my due date! How are you feeling?

@LokiCat - ah thank you! I’ve had 3 people tell me how much bigger I look today. Maybe he’s had a growth spurt! All I can think is that I’m only about 4 weeks away from my EDD so not surprised I’m getting bigger!
Turkish food sounds amazing 😊
Really sorry to hear you didn’t sleep well. I get awful leg cramps so I feel you, and I haven’t figured out how to get rid of them!

@LikeTheFruit - a year sounds great at this point! I’m finishing work in 3 weeks and I’m starting to feel it now. I really feel like he’s going to be here early so I’m trying to figure out how to do my handover with no-one to hand over to!
Ooh what’s your course on?
My boss asked me today if she could ring me when I’m off if he comes early and I’m on mat leave without getting things handed over. 🥺
Can I ask a really nosey question about why you really want to avoid diamorphine? I want to have the baby in a midwife led unit but diamorphine and gas and air are the only pain options so keen to figure out the best thing to do!

Lemonysherbet · 19/02/2020 19:54

@PippaPug how are you getting on? I keep popping back in thinking about you xx

Lemonysherbet · 19/02/2020 19:57

Ooh and@purplefig how exciting!

I'll have a proper catch up this weekend :)

Lemonysherbet · 19/02/2020 19:59

And @purplefig even. Can you tell I'm tired

MrsH497 · 19/02/2020 20:22

Exciting @cupcakesandglitter fingers crossed you get Mother's Day with your little one!

@LokiCat I've had a few and everyone seems to be asking (on the phone) whether I'm huge - just as well I'm not overly sensitive about weight/size. I don't think I'm big at all 😐 happy obviously for DH touching bump as much as he likes, mum and mil I'll tolerate they just want to feel close to grandchild but everyone else back the F off!

Blood test booked for tomorrow evening hope they don't stab me too many more times!

cupcakesandglitter · 19/02/2020 21:04

Thanks @LokiCat 😊 sorry to hear about your night, hopefully you'll get a better nights sleep tonight... the only thing that helps my hips now is a triple folded blanket and then pregnancy pillow around and a small pillow under bump 😂😂 oooh enjoy your Turkish!! It's soooo good 🤤 x

Ahh @LikeTheFruit im sure they'll be fiiiine, as long as you have everything ready and safe for a baby that'll be good enough 🥰 oh god, I don't know how you're doing it!! Good for you for staying proactive and doing stuff though xx

@ELW85 ahh yay!! What're the chances of that?! 😂 mind you thinking about it I'm exactly two weeks behind you so should've clocked it! How exciting, we're nearly there!! Just out of interest, are you planning on having any sweeps beforehand? X

Thankyou @MrsH497 I hope they get what they need quickly and stop prodding you about 🤦🏻‍♀️ x

LokiCat · 20/02/2020 10:16

@LikeTheFruit I was also going to be nosy to ask why you want to avoid the diamorphine, but I see ELW85 already did :)
I didn't realise you could labour in the pool, but deliver out of it! I don't want to deliver in the pool, but heard that it's great for pain relief, so will keep that in mind for my birth plan - thanks!
Haha my sweet tooth is a killer, I am finding it difficult at times! I've already tasked DH with bringing me a big ferrero rocher milkshake once I've given birth and had the all clear for GD 😁
Sounds like you've had a great start to the mat leave already! I can't wait to start mine.

@ELW85 I get the same comments from colleagues about how big I'm getting. I know they mean well and it's in reference to the bump, but it isn't nice to hear at times!
Oh, I hope your work leave you alone during your maternity leave! The last thing you want to do is be answering work calls whilst you're looking after a newborn.

@MrsH497 I feel people think we want to hear that we look 'big'. Someone commented that to me when I wasn't even showing 😕
Yeah, I definitely don't want anyone but DH touching the bump. Thankfully no one else has tried!

@cupcakesandglitter haha my pregnancy pillow is definitely my best friend right now! It's a god send under the bump these days!
Oh I ate way too much last night. It was sooo good! Our eyes were clearly too big for our stomachs, as we got a full platter just between two 🙈

@purplefig @PippaPug I hope you ladies are getting on okay ❤️

Almost the weekend!! Anyone got any plans? I'll just be happy to finally put my feet up 😁 x

LikeTheFruit · 20/02/2020 14:26

@ELW85 it's an advanced airway course for work - using fibre optics. Need to do it for a module sign off 🤦‍♀️. I want to avoid diamorphine for a couple of reasons 1) it crosses the placenta and can make baby pretty sedated especially if given in later labour and 2) it can make you pretty sedated and not necessarily take away pain but just make you less bothered by it and I want to feel in control. A couple of friends who've had it say they have big gaps in their memory of labour after having it.

@cupcakesandglitter trying to stay as active as I can but means I've done nothing round the house yet whoops!

@LokiCat I've said about about not wanting diamorphine essentially crosses placenta and side effects of feeling spaced out/not in control/amnesia. Yeah I'm so keen to labour in pool but want a midwife keeping close eye on actual delivery out of pool to reduce risk of tearing etc. It's great you've already got your DH on the case with the banned food items once baby is here!!

ELW85 · 20/02/2020 21:01

Evening all!

I sound like a broken record but with 3 weeks to go at work, I can’t actually believe how quickly time is flying. Got one Glasgow trip next week and that’s me done for travel!
Had a crap meeting with one of the Execs today that put me in an awful mood but I’m starting to get too tired to care. I actually ended up saying to him “I’m usually more articulate than this but at 8.5 months pregnant, I’m doing pretty well” 😂

@purplefig @PippaPug - how are you both?

@cupcakesandglitter - I’m going to ask the midwife about sweeps etc on Tuesday. DH is really wanting him to be born on his birthday so he definitely doesn’t want him to come early. I honestly don’t mind as long as he’s ok!
Are you excited for your date?

@LokiCat - it’s absolutely flying over now, and I really hope work don’t get in touch either!!
We’re having a date night on Saturday, so it’ll be the last one before little one arrives! A weekend of chilling out sounds perfect though!

@LikeTheFruit - thank you for the info on pain relief; I think I’m just going to see how it goes on the day. I really want to give birth in the centre as opposed to the clinical setting, but I’m not sure how capable I’ll be to deliver on gas and air alone. I’ll give it my best shot though!

PippaPug · 22/02/2020 11:54

@pippapug Congratulations! What fabulous weights for your boys - I’m only 3 weeks deep but twin boys are the best!! My boys also had low blood sugar and it wasn’t picked up initially in hospital so great to hear they’ve managed that for you. Hope your first few days at home have gone well and you’re recovering!
