Replying to everyone in a new thread as the old one is full! Also tagging @Lemonysherbet @ELW85 @MrsH497 @LokiCat @larrydavid - so sorry if I’m forgetting anyone!

@MrsR16 It’s so weird, I was thinking back to getting my BFP for the twins the other day - some days it feels like yesterday but others it feels like a lifetime ago! I bet now Ethans here the pregnancy also feels like a distant memory!!

@TrashKitten10 Ah thanks lovely - wow a 9 pounder!! Well done you! I will definitely let everyone know as soon as I can once the twins are here :)

@PippaPug Thanks lovely! How are you feeling at the moment? Funnily enough they don’t do the steroid injections at my hospital if you’re going to deliver post 37 weeks so I’ve managed to swerve that one - how have you found them? Hurray for big babies - looks like we’re both going to have some chunky twins on our hands!! Do you find you are constantly congratulated at hospital for keeping them in so long/growing them so big?! I get it every time!

@Fivebyfive2 Joe is adorable! How was your first night away?

@thumper59 12 weeks! He is so so cute and I LOVE the matching jackets haha!

@purplefig Ugh the first lie in didn’t go to plan, I woke at 3 and couldn’t drift off again until 6... so glad it isn’t just us wobbling on names at the midnight hour! Yep ours will be Irish names - narrowing it right down and making it even harder for ourselves!! Hope you enjoyed your last yoga class!

Had a scare this morning; after a shocking night trying to sleep I woke quite late (well, around 9) - twin 2 dancing the jig as always but couldn’t feel twin 1 at all. I tried absolutely everything, I must have had a full litre of orange juice, chocolate, prodding at his side of my belly and I just got nothing. I called DH at 11 and just broke down, and we were soon off to triage. I literally cried all the way there! We had a CTG and as much as she struggled to find twin 1, he’s there and heart is pounding away. She told me he’s very low now, and position wise twin 2 is actually almost sitting on top of him so masking some of the stronger movements. The little swines! I’m so relieved, but it was horrible - I was terrified. Tracking twin movements is such a minefield!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)

@purplefig ahh I can imagine being in this limbo of 'is this it, or not?' is getting frustrating! Come on baby!!
How many days till you think you'll go for a sweep?

@ELW85 happy birthday lovely! I hope you had an amazing weekend of surprises. Early birthday cake sounds wonderful!!
I'm sorry to hear about your scare on Saturday, but glad to hear all is okay! ❤️

@PippaPug hope you're doing okay lovely? Sorry to hear about your hospital stay. How are you doing now? Are you still having your c section tomorrow?

@cupcakesandglitter the dietician said the same to me; as I get further along things that wouldn't affect me before may cause my blood sugar to spike more now. I'm still diet controlled, but my fasting levels seem to be on the rise! No idea how to control them..
I've pretty much just cut down on my portion size tbh. So lessened any pasta/rice/bread that I'd have with my meals.
Have found low sugar ice cream and sugar free biscuits/wafers plus low carb protein bars which has helped with cravings at times! You're right, it will all be worth it when she is here healthy and safe!

@MrsEG oh he is adorable!! Sorry to hear you've not been feeling well. I hope the antibiotics haves helped. How are you doing now?
Hopefully they've both gained weight! ❤️

@Larrydavid how exciting that you've popped! It's lovely seeing the bump, isn't it? Glad you've enjoyed pregnancy yoga!

Had a Saturday of baby shopping - we finally got our furniture ordered from M&P (found another price match deal online which I was chuffed about 🙊). Also picked up our Ocarro travel system, which I got into and put together as soon as we were home! Can't imagine there'll be a little one in there soon 🥰
Furniture should be here mid March, then hopefully everything will be ready for her arrival 😁

Have a lovely Monday all x

cupcakesandglitter · 17/02/2020 12:50

Awww @mrseg he's gorgeous!! And I think he looks like you! Sorry to hear about your kidney infection, fx its gone soon enough and you can rest a bit better! Sounds like you're doing a fantastic job though x

@ELW85 happy birthday 🥳 hope you enjoyed your Italian 🤤 ooh how exciting that's he's moved down! Glad to hear everything is okay, maybe you'll see him closer than you think 😊 Reno is getting there, slowly... electrician is here as we speak!

@pippapug builder is happy with the plans so now just trying to get here ASAP - I have a feeling the kitchen is going to come after the baby though 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ sorry to hear they've stopped again, but definitely sounds promising?! Is there anything you've not tried? Dates? Raspberry leaf tea? More sex? 😂😂😂

Thanks @Larrydavid I think that's super sensible 😂 the stress this has caused me I swear!! Aww glad you enjoyed yoga - it's always lovely when people start realising you're pregnant! I hated that stage in between where it looked like I'd just eaten too much/was bloated 😂

@LokiCat that's exactly what happened to me! Used to be completely fine with bread but literally one day my body couldn't deal with it anymore ☹️ glad to hear you're still diet controlled - the slow acting insulin is what I've been given to help my fasting levels, you take it once before bed and it works overnight over around 10 hours I think. Since I've taken it we've found the right dosage for me and thankfully they've been in range since. Same thing can happen again though, the longer you go on the more your levels can change so my dosage ended up being upped twice to level it out again. Sugar free wafers oh my god, I really miss wafers 😭 now I want some 😭😭😭 other than the GD how're you feeling?

So I have a growth scan tomorrow and then an app on Wednesday to start discussing birth plans! Pretty sure Mini Cupcakes is breech again because my hand is pretty much resting on her head 😶 seem to have had a massive growth spurt overnight, I'm huge!!! I'm guessing she's at least 4lb 5 but we shall see tomorrow 😅

purplefig · 17/02/2020 12:54

@LokiCat congrats on scoring another great deal - I think once you start putting baby stuff up it does all feel very real. So exciting! I've got my 41 week midwife appointment tomorrow so she'll do an internal exam at that and hopefully be able to do a sweep.

Acupuncture knocked me right out and I came back and slept for nearly 2 hrs. Probably TMI but a new fun development in the last day is my body no longer seems to want food 😣 literally every time I eat, I'm on the loo within an hour.

cupcakesandglitter · 17/02/2020 12:58

Oops @purplefig I've accidentally tagged Pippa instead of you on my post below 🤦🏻‍♀️

PippaPug · 17/02/2020 13:09

I must of been so exhausted I forgot I posted on Friday 🙈😂

@ELW85 - I’m home now thank goodness - was a horrid night stay - the day wasn’t to bad but very noisy with all the women being induced! BP is back down to being low but I’m on meds for it now to keep it at bay till I have the twins! Not long for you till you meet baby, you must be so excited!

@cupcakesandglitter - I’m officially full term now 🎉🎉 section is tomorrow! No idea why she was being like that but it was incredibly frustrating she was being so selfish - the noise was bad enough but when she turned the lights on! How’s your house Reno going? Are you looking forward to your scan tomorrow?

@MrsEG
yes wards are horrendous - really hoping I get a side room tomorrow! How are you feeling now? Hopefully feeling better after a few days of the antibiotics!

@purplefig - how’s it all going with you?! Fingers crossed the acupuncture works for you!

@Larrydavid - I may of swore rather loudly (it woke me and the other other women in there) as I was so cross! I had to go back to the hospital today to get bloods and BP checked (which are back to normal with tablets) and even the HCA said that she was very vocal - but only when a member of staff was around 🙄 also her partner was horrid to a lot of staff - made me feel really bad for them, so unnecessary. How are you doing?

@LokiCat - I am all good thank you - with tablets BP has gone back to normal thankfully and C section is booked for tomorrow - 😱😱😱😱 hasn’t quite hit me yet! Nursery is all done, buggy up and ready, car seats in place! How are you doing? Did you enjoy baby shopping - I know I did (and still do!) I’m in the nursery folding up bits and pieces and just thinking in a few days there will be two little ones here in their nursery!

purplefig · 17/02/2020 13:16

@cupcakesandglitter I've tried dates and we're having sex every day (😅). Haven't tried raspberry leaf tea as you're supposed to build up to it, so think that ship has sailed. Also have tried curry, acupuncture, long walk, clary sage oil....suffice to say I think it's true what they say, baby comes when they're ready! Great news the builder is on board and it'll be so worth it when it's done. All the best at your birth plan meeting - what're your preferences?

purplefig · 17/02/2020 13:18

@PippaPug oh my gosh how exciting!! All the best for tomorrow - I can't believe it's time to meet them already. How're you feeling?! Xx

cupcakesandglitter · 17/02/2020 13:37

Oh wow @PippaPug congratulations that's fantastic news!! You've done it 😂 how exciting it's tomorrow!! How're you feeling? It's getting there slowly but the house is still a building site and I am DYING to clean everything but I'm exhausted so I can't 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ massively looking forward to it, but I've had so many now and she's always stubborn so we don't actually get to see much. Although last week's scan showed that she has lots of hair!! Which explains the horrific heartburn

@purplefig oh god sounds like you've covered all bases 😂 although your toilet situation sounds promising too? At the antenatal class last week they mentioned your body starts to get rid of crap (literally) as much as possible before labour so maybe you're just building up to it?! How exciting!! 😁 I've been using the PBC digital pack and would like to have as natural as possible really - although I'm not against induction at all and just want her here safely. I'd like to use a pool for pain relief if possible, but all depends on whether my hospital has wireless monitoring available ☹️ tbh if she's breech and they recommend a section I will probably agree just depending on what's safer for us both. Just hoping she turns and I can try vaginally but I'm honestly so tired I just want her out 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

TrashKitten10 · 17/02/2020 14:27

@PippaPug Good luck tomorrow! You've done so well, I'm in awe of you and @MrsEG carrying twins. Hope all goes smoothly and you're back to update us as soon as you can :)

Lemonysherbet · 17/02/2020 18:05

Eek @PippaPug all the best for tomorrow, how incredibly exciting. Xxx

ELW85 · 17/02/2020 18:11

Evening all!

Early birthday dinner was postponed because of Dennis, so having it tonight instead; very excited!

@Larrydavid - I don’t need more monitoring which is good, so just keeping an eye on him myself. How many weeks are you now? I lose count very easily at the moment!

@purplefig - how are you feeling? You’ve tried everything so at least it’s really only a matter of time now 😊 how are you feeling about the appointment?

@LokiCat @cupcakesandglitter - thank you! It sounds like you’re both really organised with everything.
And you’ve reminded me about birth plans...I haven’t done one with a midwife. Are you doing yours independently?

@PippaPug - good luck for tomorrow! I hadn’t realised!! How are you feeling?

MrsEG · 17/02/2020 19:55

@PippaPug Ahh good luck for tomorrow!! So excited for you!

OP posts:
MrsH497 · 17/02/2020 20:36

Hey ladies!
@PippaPug good luck for tomorrow hope all goes well. Can't believe you will finally meet your twins.

@purplefig how are you feeling? Uncomfortable?

@MrsEG hope you and the boys are doing ok.

@cupcakesandglitter had my gestational diabetes test today. Just got to wait now for the result usual issues with me and blood tests so I look like a bruised pin cushion!

@ELW85 hope your birthday cake was good!

@Larrydavid I keep being told I've popped again so must look more obviously pregnant now. It's quite nice but I do get a bit tetchy about people commenting on my size/touching bump/general comments about my pregnancy (colleague at work- oh you're definitely nesting. No I'm just wiping the side where the kettle is as it's disgusting!)

Hope everyone has had a good day x

MrsR16 · 17/02/2020 21:06

Just a very quick one ladies!

@PippaPug good luck for tomorrow!! You finally get to meet your babies!!!

@purplefig not to scare you (not that it's scary, cos it's bloody amazing!) but I couldn't keep off the loo the day that I went into labour! I thought I'd eaten something dodgy but nope, just my body clearing out ready for labour! I hope something happens soon for you - you must be so excited to meet your baby!

LokiCat · 18/02/2020 07:17

Morning ladies 😊

@PippaPug good luck for today!! So excited for you and can't wait for your next update 😊😊

@cupcakesandglitter I've got my next growth scan next Wednesday along with an appointment at the diabetes clinic, so will see what the dr says about the fasting levels!
The sugar free wafers are from B&M and I found dark chocolate digestives at Iceland! They taste pretty similar, as well so very happy to have found them!
I'm okay thank you. Starting to struggle to walk too much, but I'm so used to being constantly on the go so I have to remind myself to slow down/not rush for trains 🙈 I have annual leave next week though, so looking forward to just relaxing then only 4 weeks till maternity leave starts! 😁
How are you? How exciting to start thinking about a birth plan!
Hope all goes well at the scan today!

@purplefig yeah, I've started imagining her in the bits we've been getting for her - it's so surreal, especially that soon enough it'll be real as well.
Acupuncture sounds like it was great! Also, from what others have been saying about your body clearing itself out to get ready sounds promising! I hope the appointment/sweep is useful today.

@ELW85 ahh hope you enjoyed your birthday dinner! The dr/midwife mentioned that I'd be discussing a birth plan/what sort of options I'll have available with them at around 34 weeks - may be worth bringing up at your next appointment?

31 weeks today! 😁 the nerves have started kicking in with the excitement as well. Mostly as I have no idea what to expect. DH and I have a birth preparation workshop in a few weeks, so hopefully that'll be useful insight!

I found yesterday that HR have lost my MATB1 form (and that was only after I kept chasing them up!!) 😫 they won't do anything with the scanned copy I have, so I just hope the midwife can do another one. The advisor said 'we've never had an issue asking for another one before', so clearly they're notorious for losing them 🙄

Freezing here today. I hope you all have a lovely day x

purplefig · 18/02/2020 09:05

@PippaPug thinking of you today 💕

@cupcakesandglitter sounds like a really sensible approach to birth imo! I've written up a list of preferences (quite similar to yours really), then added a line to say I'm well aware situations change and basically healthy baby and mum are the main thing!

@ELW85 how was your birthday dinner?? Was it your birthday yesterday?! If so: belated happy birthday 🥳 I hope you got spoilt!

@MrsH497 just a bit 😅

@MrsR16 yes I'm hoping it's a good sign, but nothing more as of yet!

@LokiCat oh my goodness, 31 weeks! You're well into the 10 week countdown now 🙌🏻 so exciting! That's such a crap response from HR and definitely sounds like they've got form for losing them. Hope you can get another easily.

Still here, still pregnant 😅 got the midwife today so I'll be having a sweep (if she can do one). X

MrsEG · 18/02/2020 09:49

@purplefig Good luck today! My sisters waters broke not long after her sweep - I’ll hope for the same for you! I bet you’re just ticking off days now?! Come on baby!

OP posts:
Larrydavid · 18/02/2020 09:56

@purplefig how are you getting on? Good luck with your sweep today. I'm 23 weeks now. Still feels like I have ages to prepare but then also like time has sped up!

@LokiCat seeing the bump is definitely making it more real. Furniture shoppping sounds like it was successful! We had ours delivered and built last week and the men who came round to do it broke the legs on the cot by accident 🤦🏻‍♀️ we now have a broken cot in the nursery waiting to be repaired!

@cupcakesandglitter I didn't really think about the in between stage (before the bump properly arrives!) but it's a bit rubbish isn't it! None of your clothes fit, you look like you've overindulged for months, pregnancy clothes are too big but normal clothes are too small! I think I might actually be starting to enjoy my pregnancy now I'm not sick and I can feel the baby wriggling! Good luck with your scan tomorrow!

@PippaPug that woman sounds like a nightmare! I'm doing well thank you! Best of luck for today, can't wait to see your update. So exciting.

@ELW85 that's good that you're self monitoring! I'm 23weeks. Time has sped up! Also, happy birthday for the other day. I'm 35 and can confirm it's a great age! 🎉

@MrsH497 I think I'd slap an unwanted hand if it came near me 😂 luckily no one has touched it yet! It's so nice to feel the baby all the time now. Makes it feel very real. Hope you're doing well?

@LokiCat can't believe they've lost your form! How annoying. I hope the workshop goes well. I'm hoping as soon as we attend those things, I'll feel calmer about the whole birth situation!

I went to see a classical composer last night - it was so lovely and the baby went completely nuts everytime the violins played. When I got home, I had my phone restring in my tummy and the baby gave it some little kicks. So cute.

Have a good day all x

purplefig · 18/02/2020 10:01

@MrsEG ooo that sounds positive! I'm trying to stay upbeat and positive, but the discomfort is very real these days 😅 great news about the boys gaining weight (yes I've been stalking the other thread 😳)

@Larrydavid you're over the halfway mark now though, I found it went much quicker then. So cute they reacted to the music 💕

Ok so trying to remain calm and not get carried away but I think I just lost some of my mucus plug!! A thick, green tinged discharge - a bit like EWCM?! Hoping this is good timing for my stretch and sweep!! Eeeek. X

MrsH497 · 18/02/2020 10:07

@Larrydavid I'm good thank you how are you? I have perfected the death stare whenever bump is touched without permission!! It's odd that as soon as you're pregnant everyone feels they can comment on your weight, shape, what you're eating/drinking/doing and touch you!

Good luck @PippaPug hope everything goes well

@purplefig how you feeling?

purplefig · 18/02/2020 13:33

Just back from the midwife - both doing good. Had a stretch and sweep and she said my cervix is still a bit thick, but it was 1cm dilated and she managed to get it to 2cm. She also was able to feel the baby's head which was totally surreal! I hoping that that + on off cramping + mucus plug + body clearing out is all a good sign things will get underway.

MrsH497 · 18/02/2020 14:34

So had a text from the gp saying my antenatal group and screen blood tests need to be repeated as they weren't received in the lab. Anyone know what these are?! I had a couple of other tests yesterday in addition to my glucose test but guess I'm going to have to be tortured with more blood tests! 🙄

MrsEG · 18/02/2020 16:02

@purplefig Ah thanks lovely - they’re getting there, slowly but surely. I just wish they’d had a better start so we hadn’t ended up here but what can you do!
All sounds super favourable - my plug came away 2 days before the section and I started having tightenings almost immediately. I really hope it happens this week!
My only advice post-birth would be do not leave that hospital until you are sure of your feeding. If you have even the smallest doubt in your mind about how often baby wants food or your latch, make sure someone checks you over before they send you home! Also - you won’t use half the things in your hospital bag, and it will still be sat unpacked at the bottom of the stairs two weeks on haha!
Good luck - I’ll keep checking in..!

Hello everyone!!

I finally finished work yesterday! Woop! Technically just on annual leave and start mat leave next Monday. 37+4 today - where is the time going!!

Thanks everyone for job congratulations- such a relief that I don't have to worry about becoming unemployed 4 months after returning from mat leave! Or having to prepare for an interview while off.

@PippaPug hope everything has gone well today! Been thinking about you all day!

@purplefig aww I'm getting very excited for you! Hopefully stretch and sweep will have done the trick! After you and @PippaPug I'm next! Argh!

@MrsH497 the group and save is in case you need a blood transfusion - they're very strict about how the tubes are filled out and I would put money on someone having made an error writing on the tube and the lab rejecting it rather than it being lost - but I am a massive cynic!!

@MrsEG sounds like you're really getting into the swing of things now! The first couple of weeks will have done no harm, glad you're better too

@LokiCat so annoyed on your behalf with HR losing your matB1 form! I'm starting to get a little worried as haven't had my maternity entitlement letter through yet.

@ELW85 happy birthday!! Hope you had a lovely meal out!

@cupcakesandglitter I'm also in the building site club 😂😂. Hoping it's a little better for health visitor visit next week! My nesting instinct to clean hasn't kicked in yet though! (Not sure I have it in me 😂)

Finally got a gym ball on Saturday, pumped it up then had braxton hicks most of the evening 😂😂😂. First time I've had BHs! Was quite exciting, weirdly looking forward to labour now - really need to write my birth preferences!

Love to all xx

MrsH497 · 18/02/2020 18:36

Thank you @LikeTheFruit that definitely helps reassure me. Finally managed to book in this week to have it done again luckily not the glucose test again. Just hope they find veins as my poor arms are very bruised already!
