Replying to everyone in a new thread as the old one is full! Also tagging @Lemonysherbet @ELW85 @MrsH497 @LokiCat @larrydavid - so sorry if I’m forgetting anyone!

@MrsR16 It’s so weird, I was thinking back to getting my BFP for the twins the other day - some days it feels like yesterday but others it feels like a lifetime ago! I bet now Ethans here the pregnancy also feels like a distant memory!!

@TrashKitten10 Ah thanks lovely - wow a 9 pounder!! Well done you! I will definitely let everyone know as soon as I can once the twins are here :)

@PippaPug Thanks lovely! How are you feeling at the moment? Funnily enough they don’t do the steroid injections at my hospital if you’re going to deliver post 37 weeks so I’ve managed to swerve that one - how have you found them? Hurray for big babies - looks like we’re both going to have some chunky twins on our hands!! Do you find you are constantly congratulated at hospital for keeping them in so long/growing them so big?! I get it every time!

@Fivebyfive2 Joe is adorable! How was your first night away?

@thumper59 12 weeks! He is so so cute and I LOVE the matching jackets haha!

@purplefig Ugh the first lie in didn’t go to plan, I woke at 3 and couldn’t drift off again until 6... so glad it isn’t just us wobbling on names at the midnight hour! Yep ours will be Irish names - narrowing it right down and making it even harder for ourselves!! Hope you enjoyed your last yoga class!

Had a scare this morning; after a shocking night trying to sleep I woke quite late (well, around 9) - twin 2 dancing the jig as always but couldn’t feel twin 1 at all. I tried absolutely everything, I must have had a full litre of orange juice, chocolate, prodding at his side of my belly and I just got nothing. I called DH at 11 and just broke down, and we were soon off to triage. I literally cried all the way there! We had a CTG and as much as she struggled to find twin 1, he’s there and heart is pounding away. She told me he’s very low now, and position wise twin 2 is actually almost sitting on top of him so masking some of the stronger movements. The little swines! I’m so relieved, but it was horrible - I was terrified. Tracking twin movements is such a minefield!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)

Didn't get the job 😢 feel super down about it all. Trying to look forward to the weekend with DH

cupcakesandglitter · 13/02/2020 11:52

Hey all, sorry to have disappeared again - I've been signed off work and we've hit a snag with the building Reno so having to change the whole kitchen 🙁 on a very tight deadline before Smidge arrives 😬 top that off with having my insulin increased, and I had a scan yesterday where my notes say sub optimal imaging due to BMI!! I was so shocked, the scan looked as clear as usual to me and I've never had an issue before. I was quite angry when I read it 🤦🏻‍♀️

@MrsH497 sorry about the job, but try not to feel too disheartened, I'm sure something will come along for you soon, and you'll have a lovely weekend 💕 did I read right that you're remortgaging? We've just remortgaged and I didn't mention I was pregnant - I've read too many horror stories about people having issues re maternity leave etc so I just kept quiet 😬

@lemonysherbert im with you on the Sainsbury's clothes!! They've got 25% off too so I couldn't help but pop in again 😂 sorry to hear about your midwife app - my belly measures two weeks ahead and it's always been quite podgy too so that doesn't help. Try not to take any notice of it, if they have any concerns they'll do a growth scan and I'm sure baby will be doing just fine!! You could always call your usual midwife if you're still feeling a bit anxious about it? I also second the positive birthing company pack, I've got the digital one - I'm looking forward to labour! 😂 X

@MrsEG sorry to hear your we're back in with the boys but I'm glad their ties have been sorted and you're back home 😊 they're so beautiful, and you're doing so well you should be super proud of yourself 💕

How're you doing @LokiCat? Xx

Ahh @purplefig how crazy you're so close!!! Are you enjoying your time off? 😁 x

@thumper59 how're you and little man doing? Xx

@ELW85 happy almost 35 weeks and 35th birthday!! How lovely you'll have a lovely few days of celebrating 😊 your valentines night sounds perfect! Any plans for your birthday? Just think, this is your last one before baby is here! How amazing you're turning 35 being so close too! Xx

Sorry if I've missed anyone, I'm absolutely pants with keeping up xxxx

MrsH497 · 13/02/2020 12:15

@cupcakesandglitter yeah and we had a help to buy loan which we want to pay off with the remortgage - great timing!!
Sorry the renovations aren't going great! My mum had a nightmare when her kitchen was done but it was so worth it. How long till smidge arrives? X

cupcakesandglitter · 13/02/2020 12:29

@MrsH497 don't panic, remortgaging is actually (IMO) a much easier ride than the initial first mortgage 😅 we took out a bit extra too to pay off some debts and are still paying less than we have been for the last two years! Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for you 😊 god I hope so, it just feels like another thing to worry about 🤦🏻‍♀️ approx five weeks!! Looking likely that I'll be induced around 38w because of the GD so not too long to go at all - mind you it really feels like it's dragging now 😂 x

MrsH497 · 13/02/2020 13:12

@cupcakesandglitter you have no idea how I needed to hear that! Money always worries me think it's having seen my poor mum make ends meet for years when I was tiny.

Got my GD test Monday!

So exciting you're not too far away from meeting little one! X

purplefig · 13/02/2020 15:51

@MrsH497 Sorry to hear you didn't get the job, it's always disappointing news. Can you do something nice for yourself today? FWIW I had a big, hot, red lump after the whooping cough jab - apparently it's quite common and mine did go down after a week. Big hugs to you and go easy on yourself.

@LokiCat I don't blame you for avoiding sex - I don't think a lot of people feel like it for all sorts of reasons! Agree Sainsbury's is dangerous 🤣 I left with the cutest big cat themed sleepsuits 😭💕

@MrsEG sorry you've had such a horrible time, but how incredible that your instincts kicked in ❤️ so glad they're doing better. And just look at them - absolute unapologetic cuties.

@Lemonysherbet yeah I'd deffo recommend the pack - there are some free videos on YouTube to give you an idea of what to expect if you want to try before you buy. We were in a similar position to you with the nursery in that it had been recently renovated, still took us an age to sort 😅 great your DH is handy! In Sainsbury's I was pretty restrained and just bought a pack of big cat themed sleepsuits 😍. Sorry to hear about your anxiety, it sounds like you've got a really good handle on it though. Hopefully the growth scan will be reassuring - when is it?

@cupcakesandglitter sorry to hear about the reno snag - how come you have to change the whole thing? I swear building work is never bloody straightforward. Sorry to hear about your scan notes too, they wouldn't have meant anything nasty by it but sometimes clinical language can sound very harsh. I'm ok thanks - 40+3 today and time is going so slowly. Very up and down tbh...getting very uncomfortable now!!

Happy Thursday one and all! Still no sign of the baby 😅 trying to stay calm but definitely spent this morning researching inductions and coming up with a plan for if I get to 40+12.

I'm doing ok, but finding it difficult to stay continually positive tbh. Not helped by feeling generally uncomfortable, having had daily back ache for 20+ weeks and now and even a basic 2 mile walk completely wiping me out! Oh and all the bloody texts and helpful 'advice' and update requests from well meaning friends and family. Next time I'd definitely lie about the due date 😂

Have tried lots of walking (limited with my back), sex and bouncing on my ball. I've contacted the acupuncturist I used for fertility treatment, so hopefully she can squeeze me in. Genuinely considering ordering a hot curry tomorrow 🤪

ELW85 · 13/02/2020 18:25

Evening all!

I had my midwife appointment today; platelets have dropped but only a tiny bit which is great news so they’re levelling off by the looks of it.
Little one is measuring just above the 50th centile and he’s now 4/5 (which actually means only 1/5 in the pelvic cavity) engaged!
Feeling so positive after that.

@purplefig - thanks lovely, DH has got a lid of surprises booked in for me, so I’m really now looking forward to my birthday. I think my main reservations about 35 are that I’m feeling a bit older than I have been but actually I had a great mentor meeting yesterday which totally peeled me up too!
I’m so sorry you’re feeling so uncomfortable and it’s getting to you a bit.
You’re doing (and have done) so well, and have been a constant beacon of positivity on this journey! Just remember, you’re looking at a matter of days now and you’re in the very last of the stretch you could possibly be in. It’ll all be worth it, and you’ll be a wonderful mother!

@MrsEG - I’m so pleased you’re all ok. Good for you for sticking to your guns and making sure the boys were seen again.

@LokiCat - enjoy Cirque de Soleil tonight! You’ll have to update us! It looks amazing 😊

@Lemonysherbet - sorry your midwife appointment was a bit scary, but honestly those FHMs are so inaccurate. I’ve had awful experiences!

@cupcakesandglitter - lovely to have you back and sorry to hear the building stuff isn’t going well.
I hope you’re feeling ok, pregnancy is the last time you need additional stresses.

@MrsH497 - so sorry to hear you didn’t get the job. Have a reflect in your Mat leave and figure out what you want to do maybe?

Sorry to anyone I’ve missed! I’m so wiped out!

LikeTheFruit · 13/02/2020 22:12

@ELW85 very nosy question but do you know what your platelet count is?

ELW85 · 14/02/2020 06:39

@LikeTheFruit - not nosey at all 😊 it was ~160k when I was first pregnant and had been steadily declining down to 113k now. I was just worried about it being

LikeTheFruit · 14/02/2020 06:59

@ELW85 that's alright and wouldn't worry me at all about spirals/epidurals etc. Tend to start getting twitchy below 100, and certainly below 80. Glad it's all levelling off!

LokiCat · 14/02/2020 09:29

Morning all 😊 it's Friday!! So happy the weekend is here.

@MrsEG sorry you had such a tough and emotional time in the hospital again, but I'm glad to hear you and the boys are home again and that they're doing so well now! They are so so adorable ❤️

@Lemonysherbet ah I'm so sorry to hear the midwife appointment left you feeling more anxious. It's good that you do have a growth scan booked in and hopefully all is okay ❤️
We went for the Mamas and Papas Ocarro bundle set. We should be picking it up tomorrow - I'm so excited! 😁
I've had no experience with JL price matching, but my friend has used it and I think someone on here has mentioned it as well. You just have to show that store you're asking to be price matched with has a physical location. Happy pram shopping for Sunday! 😊

@MrsH497 I'm sorry you didn't get the job, it's always disheartening hearing that. I hope you have a good weekend with DH. Your Valentine's Day plans for tomorrow sound perfect :)

@cupcakesandglitter oh no, sorry to hear about the renovation snag! Building work is so stressful, hopefully you'll manage to get it all done before the little one arrives. Clinical notes can sound so harsh sometimes, hopefully all was okay with be scan. How exciting that you could be meeting her so soon!
How have you been finding the GD?
I'm doing okay thanks, lovely. I was a bit frustrated the other night and had a cry with DH. I'm constantly feeling hungry because I'm not eating as I normally would due to the GD. I just want the next few weeks to fly by so I can meet her but also so I'm hopefully done with GD!

@purplefig I'm sorry to hear you're starting to feel uncomfortable. You've done so well throughout this whole journey, hopefully you won't have to go long to go before you can enjoy your newborn cuddles!
I say defo go for a hot curry. Besides hopefully helping with the labour, it'll be so tasty as well 😁
The cat sleepsuits sound so cute! I saw some safari/jungle themed ones the other day so may pop in to get them to match our nursery theme 🙊
I hope the acupuncturist can help!!

@ELW85 ah great news that you had such a positive midwife appointment!
How sweet that your DH has so many surprises booked in for your birthday. That's going to be so much fun!
Cirque du Soleil was absolutely amazing. The acts they perform are outstanding, I really recommend it! Plus the Royal Albert Hall is such a grand venue, I love going there for shows.

@LikeTheFruit hope you're doing well lovely 😊

Have a lovely Friday ladies. Hope you've all got a wonderful weekend ahead! X

purplefig · 14/02/2020 09:47

@ELW85 mate 😭❤️😭❤️ thanks for your lovely words. May have made me slightly weepy 😳 I have honestly turned into hormonal soup this week!! Your DH sounds fab and I'm glad your mentor meeting cheered you up too. I'm only 28 (so feel free to tell me to piss off!) but I find life improves the older I get - I think mid 30s sounds so cool. There's no way in hell I'd willingly go back to be early 20s, I feel like the more you know yourself and life experiences you have, the better. also great news your platelets are levelling off - and clever baby already starting to engage! Are you feeling in countdown mode yet?

@LokiCat I ended up getting curry last night 🙃 sent the baby crazy and made me get up in the night for a trip to the loo, but no labour!! It was bloody tasty though 😂. Any nice weekend plans? Sorry the GD is meaning you're hungry, I do feel for you - I can't imagine being pregnant and having to worry about what I'm eating. Hopefully it'll all be over soon lovely 💕

Feeling a bit brighter today. If nothing kicks off over the weekend I've got an acupuncture appointment for first thing Monday morning, then a midwife appointment on Tuesday where I'll get a sweep. Then I have all of next week to go into labour spontaneously! C'mon baby 🤞🏼

Anyone got any nice weekend plans? The storm forecast doesn't look great! x

PippaPug · 14/02/2020 14:42

Hello,

Sorry I have been MIA again - busy few days and then had a routine appointment at the hospital and they found my blood pressure was sky high 😳 no rhyme or reason for it currently and had to stay overnight which was pretty bad - approx 3 hours as the woman next to me put her light on as she didn’t want to sit in the dark any longer - at 1230 😳🙄🤨
I have. A headache but it is due to lack of sleep/noises I’m sure of it.

@purplefig - your doing amazingly - really really not long now!

@MrsH497 - So Sorry you didn’t get the job, but the right one will be round the corner!

@MrsEG - Really pleased your home!

Sorry can’t think of what else to say I’m almost delirious with tiredness/headache and just want to go home! My eyes are literally closing as I type this 🙈

ELW85 · 15/02/2020 06:38

Morning all!

I hope you all had a lovely valentines night?
35 weeks today, and I can’t believe that in 2 weeks time I’ll be full term. It’s just something exciting to get to meet him!

@LikeTheFruit - thank you so much for the reassurance. Just keeping everything crossed it stays put! How are you feeling? Not long now!

@LokiCat - I’m so pleased you had a lovely night! I’ve never been to anything at the Royal Albert Hall (how bad is that?!) but I’m sure I will one day!
The first of the surprises is today so I’m very excited!
I hope you’re feeling a bit better with your GD? You’re doing so well!

@purplefig - aww ❤️🥰 sorry for making you emotional but I meant every word. You’ve really inspired me with how you’ve handled pregnancy and your support has been fantastic. You’ve absolutely got this!!
I agree with you actually; I’d never go back to my early 20s (I doubt I’d survive the going out again, haha!) I think I just had a moment. I wish I’d had kids earlier but then again I wouldn’t have wanted to have them with anyone other than DH so it’s irrelevant as we only met a few years ago. So basically, you’re right!
And I’m 💯 in countdown mode now. All I keep thinking is: I really need to get my work hand over done 😮

@PippaPug - oh no! So sorry to hear about your hospital stay; how are you feeling now?

cupcakesandglitter · 15/02/2020 11:24

I know the feeling @MrsH497 but honestly it's a relief 😊 fingers crossed all comes back okay with your test x

Thanks @purplefig basically our gas/electric meters can't be moved and so we can't move our door down - thankfully we went in and have redesigned the kitchen to a way that we think will work, just hoping the builder agrees later! You're doing fantastically well, and you're so super close too so it'll be more than worth it!! You've got this 💪🏽

Hey @ELW85 eeek you're so close too!! How fast is it flying by! Hopefully you get your handover done quickly and then it's just the countdown!! Sorry if I've asked this before but when are you going on mat leave? Am I right in thinking three weeks or so?

@LokiCat I'm actually finding it okay! I haven't completely restricted my diet for the same reason, finding it difficult to not have what I want sometimes so I've been offered the short term insulin... trying to help my diet a bit better before I agree to take it though - I've noticed in the last week it's changed completely and I can no longer have white bread 😭 sorry to hear you feel the same 🙁 it will all be worth it though, when I feel crap I just keep reminding myself that it's safer for her in the long run and that's my priority right now. Doesn't mean it doesn't suck sometimes 😅 are there any sugar free options for the things you want? What kind of stuff are you cutting out? X

Sorry to hear that @pippapug sounds like a right pain! Why would you have a light on at that time?! How far gone are you now? X

ELW85 · 15/02/2020 12:30

@cupcakesandglitter - it really is flying by! So excited to meet him now it’s unreal 😊
So you’ll be about 33 weeks? I hope you’re feeling great!
I go off on maternity in about 4 weeks. Working til the end of whenever little one decided to turn up 😃

cupcakesandglitter · 15/02/2020 12:40

@ELW85 ooh I know the feeling!! Yeah I'm 33 weeks today 😁 oooh not long for you to go then at all! How exciting! Doesn't it seem crazy that we found out we were pregnant so long ago, it's gone so quickly honestly! If I didn't ovulate late we'd be pretty much due date buddies too 😂 but I still feel your excitement 😂 x

MrsEG · 15/02/2020 13:56

Hi ladies! Thanks for checking in - we’re doing better. Boys still on a feeding plan to gain weight which is so regimented and a bit stressful but needs must. I think Ruairí has reflux though just to add to the problems! I also became really unwell yesterday to the point of calling 111 as my temp reached 39, I was checked over and have a bad kidney infection. I’ve just not been looking after myself so turning that around today, and have some antibiotics too. Parenthood - it’s all fun and games!

The boys are getting more fun each day though; still so teeny tiny but we have a bit more ‘alert’ time each day which is so fun in amongst the otherwise relentless wake, feed, change and sleep cycle! Here’s a pic of Ruairí at 5am, because sleep is for the weak. Midwife is coming tomorrow to weigh them again and I just have everything crossed they both gain.

@Lemonysherbet I’m sure I’ve heard bump measuring is far from an exact science - if it was all pregnant women would show in the same way! Anxiety is rotten in pregnancy though so do look after yourself.

@MrsH497 Sorry you didn’t get the job :( I’m a firm believer that things happen for a reason! A much better job could be just around the corner :)

@cupcakesandglitter Hope the renovation is going well! I’m sure you’ll get it all sorted!

@purplefig Come on baby! I bet you’re so ready now. Those last few days just feel rotten, uncomfortable, just wanting it to happen! My advice - sleep your balls off, it’ll be the last time for a while. It’s my one regret of my last few weeks!!

@ELW85 Glad your midwife appt went so well! 35 weeks wow - not long at all now! Make the most of it :)

@PippaPug Oh yikes, are you still in hospital now? The wards are hell aren’t they. I was in a holding ward when I was in slow labour and two women either side of me were being induced and slowly starting their contractions. Me trying to sleep through that - totally impossible! Hope you’re being well looked after!

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 9!
OP posts:
ELW85 · 15/02/2020 19:12

Evening all

Just in from the hospital after an eventful afternoon of a small bleed and a 3 hour run of tests and examinations in hospital. Little one is fine (the most important thing)!! But I’m so not convinced he’s going to stick to his due date. He’s moved even further down even in a couple of days since the midwife appointment.

@cupcakesandglitter - we are super close date wise! It’s nice to be pretty much in sync!
How’s the renovation going?

@MrsEG - OMG how adorable! You can see his little personality already 😀
I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been poorly! You’re so dedicated to those boys and it’s beautiful. I hope you’re getting looked after?

purplefig · 16/02/2020 11:32

@ELW85 so sorry to hear about your hospital scare - glad everything is ok now ❤️ and only two weeks until you're full term now, which will be here before you know it. How're you doing today? Thanks for your lovely kind words earlier in the thread, it's been an absolute privilege to go through the stress / hilarity / oversharing of TTC with you, and now pregnancy too!

@PippaPug sorry to hear about your hospital stay, that sounds so stressful. Are you home now?

@cupcakesandglitter ahh I see - what did the builder reckon? Fingers crossed for you!

@MrsEG oh you poor thing - a kidney infection is the last thing you need! Are you feeling any better today? It's got to be so hard to take care of two newborns and yourself. Can you rope in some family support to help with the feeding plan / generally looking after them so you can get some rest etc.? Fingers crossed they've gained weight at today's appointment. A couple of my friends had their babies put on feeding plans (one low birth weight, one breastfeeding issues) and it was so stressful for them. Big hugs and go easy on yourself, you're doing your absolute best 💕

So I don't want to jinx it but I thiiiiiiiink I might - just might! - be in the latent stage of labour. Started getting what feels like mild contractions last night (waves of tightening and then a release) and was up in the night with them. They're regular for a bit, but quite stop and start. Very aware even if this is it it might still be days, so trying not to get too carried away. Have a good Sunday all x

ELW85 · 16/02/2020 16:28

Happy Sunday everyone!
DH has surprised me with a lovely early birthday cake since I’m working tomorrow 😊 and dinner at our favourite Italian place in town. I’m so excited for it all!

@purplefig - thank you for the lovely words! I’m feeling loads better today 😊 little one is so active, which is giving me comfort.
That sounds like labour! How are you feeling now? I’m so excited for you! X

Larrydavid · 16/02/2020 17:43

Hey hey! Happy Sunday all!

@purplefig how exciting! Keep us posted. Hope it all goes well for you and is quick!

@ELW85 sorry about your scare. Are they closely monitoring you? Not long until the baby is fully cooked!

@Lemonysherbet I'm obviously no doctor but I can't for a second understand how measuring a bump is in any way accurate! Anxiety is so awful. I used to get it loads - are you feeling better now?

@MrsEG Kidney infections suck. Hope you're doing ok and you're getting lots of help. Those boys are so beautiful!

@MrsH497 Another better job will come your way, I'm sure. But sorry you didn't get this one.

@PippaPug I think I would have turned out her light! Has your blood pressure gone down?

@cupcakesandglitter How's the renovation going? We're getting an extension but are putting it off til next year.

Where has the day gone! I went to the gym this morning, blinked and it was 5pm. I went out to watch a choir last night (a young choir doing covers - they were pretty cool!) and think I actually looked properly preggars for the first time to people who don't know me! My stomach has had the oddest stretching sensations - so guess it must have been a growth spurt. Oh I also tried pregnancy yoga this week and actually really enjoyed it! It felt so calm and like I wasn't squishing anything! Will defs go back. Have a good evening all.

purplefig · 16/02/2020 19:08

@ELW85 oh he sounds just lovely 🥳🍰 early cake truly is the way to a pregnant woman's heart! Enjoy your early birthday dinner out too, sounds delicious. So lovely to have some precious one on one time with each other 💕

@Larrydavid ahh it's so exciting when you pop! How many weeks are you? I think growing / stretching sensations are really common. That uterus has some serious expanding to do 🤣

All my cramps stopped today. I've been out for a long walk, had lunch out and may have resorted to buying some clary sage oil 😳. Have just had sex again for the second night on the trot, feels like we're bloody well TTC again not on the cusp of labour! It certainly seemed to do something last night, so let's see! Have a good night all x

purplefig · 17/02/2020 06:48

So I had another 4 ish hours of post sex cramps (they got quite painful and I really thought it was it!) and then they tailed off to nothing overnight.

Mav98 · 17/02/2020 07:24

Hello, all! New to the page. I think I may be pregnant. Got some faint lines yesterday at 13dpo and was supposed to start my period today but haven’t yet. Is there any way to add photos to get yalls opinions on the lines? Smile
