Replying to everyone in a new thread as the old one is full! Also tagging @Lemonysherbet @ELW85 @MrsH497 @LokiCat @larrydavid - so sorry if I’m forgetting anyone!

@MrsR16 It’s so weird, I was thinking back to getting my BFP for the twins the other day - some days it feels like yesterday but others it feels like a lifetime ago! I bet now Ethans here the pregnancy also feels like a distant memory!!

@TrashKitten10 Ah thanks lovely - wow a 9 pounder!! Well done you! I will definitely let everyone know as soon as I can once the twins are here :)

@PippaPug Thanks lovely! How are you feeling at the moment? Funnily enough they don’t do the steroid injections at my hospital if you’re going to deliver post 37 weeks so I’ve managed to swerve that one - how have you found them? Hurray for big babies - looks like we’re both going to have some chunky twins on our hands!! Do you find you are constantly congratulated at hospital for keeping them in so long/growing them so big?! I get it every time!

@Fivebyfive2 Joe is adorable! How was your first night away?

@thumper59 12 weeks! He is so so cute and I LOVE the matching jackets haha!

@purplefig Ugh the first lie in didn’t go to plan, I woke at 3 and couldn’t drift off again until 6... so glad it isn’t just us wobbling on names at the midnight hour! Yep ours will be Irish names - narrowing it right down and making it even harder for ourselves!! Hope you enjoyed your last yoga class!

Had a scare this morning; after a shocking night trying to sleep I woke quite late (well, around 9) - twin 2 dancing the jig as always but couldn’t feel twin 1 at all. I tried absolutely everything, I must have had a full litre of orange juice, chocolate, prodding at his side of my belly and I just got nothing. I called DH at 11 and just broke down, and we were soon off to triage. I literally cried all the way there! We had a CTG and as much as she struggled to find twin 1, he’s there and heart is pounding away. She told me he’s very low now, and position wise twin 2 is actually almost sitting on top of him so masking some of the stronger movements. The little swines! I’m so relieved, but it was horrible - I was terrified. Tracking twin movements is such a minefield!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)

Just quickly - and I will reply later - RE hospital bag - a extension cord was amazing for us!

We had one plug which was for us - but it was 28 degrees in the side room I was on so I had a fan on and meant both me and DH could have chargers plugged in

Also Flip flops - to walk to communal bathroom/walked down theatre in them and even went home in them - gave me a little bit of independence when I was struggling to bend due to C section

I will reply later to everyone though!

LikeTheFruit · 06/03/2020 17:46

Hi everyone

Can't believe it my due date today! Panic watching hypobirthing videos in case something happens today. But tbh I don't feel any different really but not sure how I should feel?! Bought myself a mini bottle of prosecco to celebrate d-date.

Thanks @LokiCat No sign of arrival yet! So glad the reflux is gone, it was a killer! Baby definitely feels lower down too, no longer getting kicked up under the ribs. I'm really well, went out for breakfast this morning with some friends which was lovely.

@MrsEG fingers crossed this is a promising sign, 4 days and no reflux 🎉🎉🎉. Glad you're getting lots of support for the PND. I can't imaging the amount of work twins create! It'll get much easier as they sleep more/have longer gaps between feeds.

@PippaPug so lovely to hear from you. So sorry you've been having a tough time, it's only natural to put lots of pressure on yourself. As long as the babies are fed it really doesn't matter in the long term - you're doing great.

Hope you've all got lovely weekends planned.

Larrydavid · 06/03/2020 19:03

I went to the hospital, just got home. It wasn't exactly the reassurance I was hoping for. The midwife was great, she checked the baby and said there was plenty of wriggling and a strong heartbeat. Then I saw the doctor. He hadn't read my notes from New York. And then was asking me a lot about the bleeding and started talking about "not ending the pregnancy at this point". It completely threw me. It felt like very unnecessary language to use with someone who's six month pregnant. He then offered another speculum examination (which made me bleed a lot last time) so I said I only wanted it if was absolutely necessary and then asked him to read my notes first. He agreed I could monitor bleeding and come back if it gets worse. He was pretty awful and then I checked my notes when I got home and they say I haven't bled for 24 hours. Which is incorrect.

I feel a bit exhausted. I just wanted someone to say that the baby was fine and that I'd be monitored. It would be much more helpful for doctors to say that even in the worst case scenario, there's a chance of survival. Not discuss terminating the pregnancy.

My good friend is a doctor and said she'd call tomorrow on my behalf as my gp. I really never want to see him again.

Anyway, back home now with a cup of tea and some chocolate. My pup is laying across me and the bump. I'll read through the thread when I'm feeling a bit less emosh. Hope you've all got good weekends planned. And happy D-Day @LikeTheFruit Xx

MrsH497 · 06/03/2020 21:21

Oh @Larrydavid that dr sounds awful! Enjoy the chocolate and pup cuddles you really deserve it. So sorry at a time you needed reassurance and you really didn't get it xx

MrsEG · 07/03/2020 14:43

@Larrydavid What a horrible ordeal. I hope your friend has managed to help out today for you. I really really hope everything is okay; push for your care, if you think you need monitoring or scanning etc really push for it. Get yourself in to triage or something. I have all fingers and toes crossed for you x

Afternoon all!

Sorry for the late reply; I’m 38 weeks today and absolutely shattered! It’s been an eventful week of reduced movements and an aura migraine, but all good now...and only 5 days left at work!
We’re having to split our leadership team across sites, for Coronavirus reasons, so I don’t actually have to go on site this week. Fantastic!! I will end up on site for a few days though...

@Lemonysherbet - we did okay a couple of games at the baby shower but nothing too active! Basically a quiz on baby facts and an all day game where you couldn’t say ‘baby’.

@LokiCat - sorry, Can’t believe I didn’t think of the GD aspect. What an idiot!
How are you doing? And did you try WFH this week?

@MrsH497 - how are you feeling? The tiredness is real! I think it’s LikeTheFruit next and then me and @cupcakesandglitter on the same day!

@LikeTheFruit - how you feeling? Any signs of labour?

@Larrydavid - I’m so sorry, that all sounds horrendous. Hopefully your friend can speak to a consultant and get it all figured out. The language was totally inappropriate especially without context, so I hope they actually explain that it was a mistake.
How are you feeling?

@MrsEG - you’re doing so, so well and are incredibly strong; please don’t forget that! Those boys are beautiful and they have a wonderful mother.

@PippaPug - I could pretty much write what I’ve just written to MrsEG about you too! There’s no shame in needing help or things getting too much, you’re human and will be doing a fantastic job. Be kind to yourself!

Sorry for anyone I’ve missed; I’m about to nap so not at my sharpest!

LikeTheFruit · 07/03/2020 21:29

@Larrydavid so sorry you had such an awful experience at the hospital. Hope you're a lot better today.

@ELW85 hello! Happy 38 weeks, can't believe you're still at work. What a trooper. I'm feeling really good still. No signs of labour, lots of braxton hicks. Haven't had any show yet.

Been doing my best to get things moving today I've been for 2 longish walks, had sex, pineapple juice, madras curry for tea, raspberry leaf tea and been on my hands and knees sweeping the floor 😂😂😂
So we'll see if that kicks anything off tonight.
If not I've got a circuit class, out for Sunday lunch and a yoga class tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend.

LokiCat · 07/03/2020 21:34

Hi all 😊 had such a lovely time at my friend's baby shower this afternoon. Made me so excited for mine next week 😁😁

@cupcakesandglitter that's great that the Reno is moving along atleast! Ahhh how exciting! That is so soon! Can't believe you could be meeting your little one in two weeks 🥰🥰 did you ask for a sweep to be booked in or did they recommend it?
I'm good thank you! Getting the final bits ready for her arrival, just waiting on the furniture delivery so we can finally finish up the nursery! It's just a dumping ground of all the baby stuff atm 😂

@MrsEG @PippaPug thanks for the hospital bag tips! I have a tendency to overpack, so I'm sure I'll be putting in a lot of things that I won't end up using 🙈

@LikeTheFruit haha must be nice to get a break from kicks in the ribs finally! Glad you're enjoying your time before baby shows up :)

@Larrydavid that's terrible! I'm so sorry that the doctor wasn't able to give you the reassurance you needed. He sounds awful. I hope your friend was able to help out today and get some answers, otherwise definitely push to be checked out again if you think it's needed.
Thinking of you lovely, I really hope everything is okay ❤️

@ELW85 oh don't be silly, you don't have to apologise! We've all got so much on our minds, I didn't expect you to think of that ❤️
I'm doing really well thank you. Yeah, I had WFH days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, which was brilliant. I had a lot of hip pain on the days I went into the office, but having the other days definitely helped to give my body a rest. Same schedule next week, which I'm really happy about!
Sorry to hear you've had a difficult week, I hope baby is doing okay? Not long left till you finish work and at least you won't have to go in for the full week, which is always a plus!!

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend xx

LokiCat · 07/03/2020 21:38

@LikeTheFruit cross post!
I love that you've tried all the options to get baby moving, hopefully it was worth it!
I'm in awe of you; to still go to your circuit class and yoga class at 40 weeks! Well done!!

ELW85 · 08/03/2020 14:53

Afternoon all!

I am SO not mobile anymore 😂 it’s taken me an hour to wrap presents for DH’s birthday. Absolute nightmare and thought I was stuck on the floor at one point.

@LikeTheFruit - what are your next steps for induction etc? Fingers crossed the curries et al kick in soon!
I’m starting to wish I’d finished work last week but it’s only 5 days to go. I’m hoping I get through it!

@LokiCat - ooh photos of your shower next weekend definitely required! Baby has been super active today until this afternoon for some reason.
I’m sure he’s fine and is just tired from all of the parting this morning!
I’m very much looking forward to not commenting every day; think I’ll do one day in, one day at home.

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend, and happy International Women’s Day!

Larrydavid · 08/03/2020 15:52

Hey guys, thanks for all your lovely messages. I've had a crappy few days - I didn't feel the baby move yesterday at all and started to bleed again so called the hospital last night and they told me to come back in. I saw two amazing midwifes who did lots of checks and gave me lots of reassurance that everything was fine and that it was likely that my placenta may cause bleeding throughout the rest of the pregnancy but not to panic and come in every time for monitoring. I feel a million times better. I have my 26 week midwife appointment tomorrow too - I said I had a complaint about the doctor and she was really lovely and said we could deal with that tomorrow. Baby is moving again and the bleeding has stopped. So relieved. I have been put on a sex ban though for the rest of the pregnancy! 3 months!

@ELW85 I'm feeling so much better - thank you. Also well done you on the wrapping! I think I'd have handed over his gifts in a carrier bag rather then get on the floor to wrap them! I'm struggling to put socks on currently and I still have so long to go!

@LikeTheFruit Thank you! Hope all those tricks gets the baby moving! Not long to go now!

@MrsEG Thank you! I went to triage yesterday and am so glad I did. I've pushed for a 32 week scan too to check on the placenta. It can feel so hard to self advocate when you're a bit scared and feeling vulnerable. I hope you're doing ok and had a good meeting with the doula?

@MrsH497 Thank you! Feeling much better now. A great midwife can really make all the difference!

Happy international women's day all!

ELW85 · 08/03/2020 20:17

@Larrydavid - I’m so sorry you’ve had a horrendous few days, but it’s great the midwives have been so fantastic and put your mind at ease.
You’re totally right about pregnancy making you vulnerable, but you’re totally doing the right thing. Just trust yourself and keep going in any time you need to. It’ll be reassuring if they monitor you for the rest of your pregnancy too, so that’s a great outcome 😊

LikeTheFruit · 09/03/2020 11:02

@LokiCat really thought the circuit class had done it yesterday. Contracted regularly throughout my Sunday lunch, got home....nothing 😂😂😂. So impressed you've nearly done your nursery! Not even started ours.

@ELW85 hello! So saw midwife this morning. I've had a sweep this morning. I'm engaged 🎉🎉🎉. 1cm dilated and have a Bishops score of 4. Whatever that means?! Haha. Booked in for another sweep on Friday and filing that outpatient induction for post-dates on Monday. Hoping it won't come to that!!

@Larrydavid thank you! Glad you've had reassurance form midwife.

I'll keep you all posted!

ELW85 · 09/03/2020 17:35

@LikeTheFruit - ooh exciting! How are you feeling after the sweep? The thought of one scares me but I’m just being a wuss!
I had to google the Bishops score. It’s almost like a go/no go decision, haha!

I’ve been feeling so aches today and started feeling nauseous at one point. Every twinge at the moment is basically a “is this it?” Moment!

I hope everyone has had a great Monday 😊

LikeTheFruit · 09/03/2020 18:26

@ELW85 it wasn't too bad, wouldn't do it for fun though 😂😂. Tried to do my hypnobirthing breathing technique, which I think kept me calm. Pleased I was dilated enough to manage one. I feel like I need a poo all the time now😂😂. Also feel very heavy down below. Not been contracting though.

I know every time I feel anything I'm like -oooh is this the start? I recon it will likely be quite obvious when it does start.

ELW85 · 09/03/2020 18:49

@LikeTheFruit - ah the needing the toilet thing is a great sign, I think 😊
I’d also use my hypnobirthing breathing. Had to do that with a speculum a couple of weeks ago when they were checking me for something. Nothing sends shivers through me quicker than that ‘s’ word, haha!

MrsH497 · 09/03/2020 22:40

Hey ladies. Well the belly bar has come out dr said it was too irritated and verging on infected! Went to the zoo today with DH think I might have overdone it a bit! Struggling to walk now!

Ooh @LikeTheFruit keeping everything crossed for you xx

ELW85 · 10/03/2020 10:08

Morning all

Midwife appointment went well today (38+3), he’s as engaged as he can be without going into labour itself but he wasn’t moving as much as she expected so currently sat in PAU to get looked over.
I think he’s probably just getting ready for departure but 100% better safe than sorry.
He’s also bang on 50th centile which is great, and very long according to the midwife.
My next appointment is next Friday for a potential sweep (the day before my due date) but I’m hoping it won’t come to that.

@MrsH497 - it’s been ages since I’ve been to a zoo! Great shout on a day out though. Hope you’re feeling better?

MrsH497 · 10/03/2020 13:42

@ELW85 we have ZSL membership so was a lovely day even if I am massively paying for it today still can't really walk very well and didn't sleep very well!

How is everyone doing?

MrsEG · 10/03/2020 15:02

@Larrydavid It really is - you want to trust that everting that should be done is being done but you have to advocate for you and if something isn’t feeling quite right then get yourself in! How are you feeling today? Thinking of you and hoping everything is okay.

Hope everyone is doing fab - popping on to see if any babies have been born! Good luck ladies :)

OP posts:
ELW85 · 10/03/2020 15:59

@MrsH497 - oh no! Look after yourself, pelvic and back pain is awful.

@MrsEG - lovely to hear from you! How are you doing? I’m due next Saturday but have been getting aches that I’m convinced are the start of something for the past few days. Probably just wishful thinking!

LikeTheFruit · 10/03/2020 17:05

@ELW85 if you deliver before me I'll cry 😂😂😂. Lost a lot of show overnight and this morning. Woke with v sore back and lower pelvic cramps at 1am which disappeared after getting up to walk about 😭😭😭. Been on my gym ball for hours and nothing!!

Think I'm going to have to DTD again tonight, at least if show is mostly gone the wee tadpoles can get where they need to 😂😂

TMI!!!!

MrsH497 · 10/03/2020 20:45

@LikeTheFruit everything sounds promising hope it keeps moving in the right direction!

@MrsEG so good to hear from you. Hope you're all doing well

@ELW85 didn't fully appreciate how painful your pelvis could be! I've made a nest in bed with my pregnancy pillow/blankets/hot water bottle.

Well the belly piercing came out- gp said it was inflamed and a little infected but won't prescribe antibiotics as they aren't good for baby. Oh well I can put it back in after I have baby. Only had it done 10 years ago my "rebellious twenties" 😂

ELW85 · 10/03/2020 21:25

@LikeTheFruit - I wouldn’t blame you 😂 and definitely no such thing as TMI between us!
To be fair, I’m fully intact show-wise so I have every faith it’s going to happen for you very soon.
How are you feeling other than achy and frustrated? God it’s like TTC again, isn’t it? Symptom spotting has come full circle!

@MrsH497 - your nest sounds wonderful to be fair! I hope you get some decent rest tonight 😊

Larrydavid · 10/03/2020 21:53

Hey guys, hope you're all doing well! I keep coming on half expecting to see more babies! My last couple of days have been much better - the baby has come to the front again and is kicking away and the bleeding has stopped. I feel so much better! Thanks for all the well wishes it's so nice to have some support from other people who are preggars / have been recently preggars. Realize I actually know no pregnant people in real life!

@MrsEG thank you! I'm doing fine now and have totally found my voice again - so easy for doctors / midwifes to miss things and it's totally acceptable for us to speak up when they do - I'm feeling much stronger now I'm not in a bad headspace. How are you feeling? Hope things have gotten a bit easier for you x

@LikeTheFruit Haha the tadpoles need to reach their destination! Good luck for the next couple of days. So bloody exciting. Not long!

@ELW85 Do you finish for mat leave on Friday?? I really can't believe everyone is having babies already - it keeps bringing it home that I will be soon too and I'm definitely not ready! Time is flying now and I'm cramming in so much work that I haven't actually bought any baby stuff! I hope you manage to squeeze in a few days rest before the big day! Have you settled on a name?

@MrsH497 My belly button is popping - if my piercing had still been in it would be looking very odd! I got mine done in my rebellious teenage years! 😂

Getting wooden floors fitted tomorrow and then we'll finally decorate the nursery! Can't wait. Have a good evening. I still have a couple of hours of work to finish and am already ready for bed! X
