Replying to everyone in a new thread as the old one is full! Also tagging @Lemonysherbet @ELW85 @MrsH497 @LokiCat @larrydavid - so sorry if I’m forgetting anyone!

@MrsR16 It’s so weird, I was thinking back to getting my BFP for the twins the other day - some days it feels like yesterday but others it feels like a lifetime ago! I bet now Ethans here the pregnancy also feels like a distant memory!!

@TrashKitten10 Ah thanks lovely - wow a 9 pounder!! Well done you! I will definitely let everyone know as soon as I can once the twins are here :)

@PippaPug Thanks lovely! How are you feeling at the moment? Funnily enough they don’t do the steroid injections at my hospital if you’re going to deliver post 37 weeks so I’ve managed to swerve that one - how have you found them? Hurray for big babies - looks like we’re both going to have some chunky twins on our hands!! Do you find you are constantly congratulated at hospital for keeping them in so long/growing them so big?! I get it every time!

@Fivebyfive2 Joe is adorable! How was your first night away?

@thumper59 12 weeks! He is so so cute and I LOVE the matching jackets haha!

@purplefig Ugh the first lie in didn’t go to plan, I woke at 3 and couldn’t drift off again until 6... so glad it isn’t just us wobbling on names at the midnight hour! Yep ours will be Irish names - narrowing it right down and making it even harder for ourselves!! Hope you enjoyed your last yoga class!

Had a scare this morning; after a shocking night trying to sleep I woke quite late (well, around 9) - twin 2 dancing the jig as always but couldn’t feel twin 1 at all. I tried absolutely everything, I must have had a full litre of orange juice, chocolate, prodding at his side of my belly and I just got nothing. I called DH at 11 and just broke down, and we were soon off to triage. I literally cried all the way there! We had a CTG and as much as she struggled to find twin 1, he’s there and heart is pounding away. She told me he’s very low now, and position wise twin 2 is actually almost sitting on top of him so masking some of the stronger movements. The little swines! I’m so relieved, but it was horrible - I was terrified. Tracking twin movements is such a minefield!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :)

Morning all!

I’m nearly in Glasgow and absolutely exhausted. This is my final work trip and I’m so, so happy about that!
Only 12 working days to go. Christ!! 😂
Got some good news that my platelets are up to 130k so nearly back to normal!
Discussed a birth plan with the midwife but she basically said they rarely refer to them and just let labour progress so I’ve not spent much time on it.
Baby is still 4/5 (or 1/5 depending on how you look at it) engaged but she said not to worry about it and it isn’t indicative of him being late as it’s not linear so you won’t necessarily go through all of the stages of engagement until labour itself, if that makes sense?

@Larrydavid - ooh where are you off to on holiday? I could do with a sun soaked beach right about now.

@LikeTheFruit - I’m so jealous of your Mat leave! I know what you mean about feeling organised but I’m just too keen to meet him now, if he feels like turning up as I go on leave, I’d be pretty happy!

@Lemonysherbet - hope you had some tights success?

@cupcakesandglitter - you look great! I bet you can’t wait now? Watch you deliver on my due date and I’ll be late, haha!

@MrsEG - the boys are absolutely gorgeous! I’m so sorry you’re not feeling yourself but it sounds like you’ve got a fantastic support network in place. Please remember to be kind to yourself; you’re doing an incredible job!

@purplefig - congratulations again, she’s beautiful!! And what a fantastic birth story. It’s so good to hear that you essentially did it all naturally and the established labour sounds as relaxed as it could be!
Did you ever consider any other pain relief or interventions or were you just in your head and going with it?
You’ve done so well and it’s fantastic to hear such a great birth story!

I hope everyone is having a good week and you got to demolish pancakes yesterday? I stuck to granola. I’m so disappointed in myself!

Larrydavid · 26/02/2020 10:58

Hey! I'm off to New York to visit friends. I'm so excited. I keep saying I'm going on Thursday - didn't really clock that that was tomorrow! I have so much to finish today ahead of going!

@MrsEG I'm so sorry you're feeling crappy. Recognizing it and getting support is so important though and you sound like you're doing all the right things. And CBT can be so helpful. Take care of yourself. You've done an incredible job. Hormones can be a bastard. X

@ELW85 only 12 days left and you can well and truly put your feet up!! Well done for doing that trip! I get a bit knackered even on the tube for twenty mins at the moment. There's a tiny part of me that wishes we'd booked somewhere hot! But we're going to eat our way around New York with friends which will be perfect.

@cupcakesandglitter You're looking wonderful! Great bump pic. We're off to New York. We have friends in Brooklyn and Greenwich village and so are splitting our time between them. Can't wait to eat all the bagels money can buy!

@purplefig It's so great to hear your birth story. It honestly sounds perfect - what a lovely way for your daughter to arrive. Hope you're doing well!

BabySquid · 26/02/2020 11:54

@purplefig just came on to see how you'd got on and WOW what an absolutely amazing birth story. I'm so happy that things went to plan and you had the best experience (other than the tear and slow start!) I'm so happy for you and your little girl. Isn't it just the best feeling in the world. I'm so happy that you had that golden hour too, that's something I deeply wanted and so sadly missed out on. Love to you all and hope you're all doing well.

LokiCat · 26/02/2020 15:06

Hey ladies 😊

@ELW85 I can't believe they're still making you go on trips and working you so hard at this stage in your pregnancy! I'm glad to hear this is your last trip though and hopefully the next 12 working days will fly by for you!
That's great to hear about your platelets; good that all is getting back to normal. Not long left!!

@Lemonysherbet hope you managed to find some tights!
I'll be almost 37 weeks when I go off on mat leave. It can't come quick enough! Having this week have has just reiterated how tired I am going into work. I'm doing well otherwise! Back to enjoying pregnancy after the frustrations of GD - baby is moving like crazy (and even kicking so much that it hurts) but I never tire of it 🥰
How are you doing?

@LikeTheFruit wow almost 39 weeks! How exciting!! Glad you're still feeling well and good on you for still making it to the gym and yoga! I pretty much gave up on all that 🙈😂
Hope your course goes well. Looks like you're pretty much sorted for baby's arrival 😊 although I'm getting the feeling that you'll never feel fully ready/organised for them to come. I'm sure I'll still be running around last minute worried that I have stuff to do 😂

@Larrydavid ahh enjoy New York! I wished that we had gone to a beach holiday as well, but I thoroughly enjoyed New York, especially all the food! If you're a cheesecake fan, I highly recommend checking out Eileen's Special Cheesecake. It's near Little Italy (right next to the best pizza shop!) and they do the most amazing cheesecakes that we ended up there twice 😂 so creamy and fluffy 🙊
Also I imagine the other message was for LikeTheFruit as I can't even manage gym now, let alone at 38 weeks! 😂

@MrsEG oh they are so so adorable! So happy to hear you've been discharged from the midwife and that they've gained the right weight. Hope it all continues.
Sorry to hear you've been having a difficult time with the PND, but I'm glad that you're seeing the GP and hopefully the CBT helps!

@cupcakesandglitter ahhh what a gorgeous bump 😍
Hope these three days fly by for you! Have you got much planned for mat leave? Hope the reno work gets sorted quickly!
Thanks lovely, they're still happy for me to continue with the birth plan I want. They'll only start discussing induction if I get put on metformin/insulin, which hasn't happened yet. Of course making sure baby girl is healthy is a priority so I will go with whatever they think is best to get her out safely.

@purplefig what an amazing birth story! So happy to read that things went to plan for you; what a positive experience it must have been! Also to hear that you were all home so quickly.
I hope you're enjoying all the new moments with your daughter 🥰🥰

@BabySquid hope you're keeping well!

So growth scan went really well today! She is currently 4lb 6ozs, which the sonographer was happy with! GD wise, they're happy with the blood sugar levels. So I can continue to be diet controlled until my next appointment in 4 weeks, which I'm so happy about. Continuing without medication means they can let me go over my due date by a week before they have to intervene.
Also I wanted to ask the dietician about indulging in desserts at my baby shower in a few weeks. She told me to enjoy myself and go for a walk after to burn it off, as it's only a one off 😂😂 so I'm very excited 🙊

All in all, everything is going well and I'm in a great mood 😁

Hope you're all having a brilliant Wednesday x

ELW85 · 26/02/2020 15:28

Now on train 1 of 2 home and exhausted!
I genuinely thought labour was staring today too (all the adrenaline/stress of the announcements); he’s been SO active and I’ve got a really dull ache in my lower back and stomach.
Also, my lower back feels like it’s bulging a bit?!
Anyway...time will tell I suppose! I’m sure it’s nothing though.

@LokiCat - I’m so pleased for you that your scan went well! You’re obviously smashing it so you should be really proud of yourself!
Definitely enjoy that baby shower - it is a one-off, so it’ll be a nice treat!
I’m sure the next 12 days will elapse in the blink of an eye and I’ll be confused about where the time went! At this stage, I wouldn’t mind going off a week early but that’s not gonna happen!

@Larrydavid - oh I’m so jealous!! NYC is my favourite place and within that, Greenwich Village! I hear you about eating your way around.
It’s pizza with me. I can’t and won’t hold back when I’m there, haha!

ELW85 · 26/02/2020 16:54

This is not a drill - Prince Harry is on my train!

LokiCat · 26/02/2020 17:03

@ELW85 haha really? I guess they really are trying to live a normal life now! Is he being left alone?
Ah thanks lovely! That's so nice of you to say. It did feel good knowing that the diet control is actually working and it's definitely worth it if it means she'll be healthy :)
I wouldn't be surprised if labour suddenly started considering how active your work is keeping you! Hope you get home okay :)
I hear you about NYC pizza! DH and I thoroughly enjoyed it and it's all he's complained about since we've got back 'that it's just not the same here' 🙄😂

Quick q for those that have got a Snuzpod - did you get the official sheets/mattress protectors? They don't seem to have the best reviews online in terms of the fit, so wondering if I should look at getting alternatives instead 🤔

ELW85 · 26/02/2020 17:13

@LokiCat - 2 carriages closed off with curtains shut so can’t see him, but the closed protection on the platform trying to act normal gave it away...confirmed by people getting displaced from their carriage!
I feel sorry for him, he seems like a nice guy and he’s just trying to be happy.
It’s wonderful about the diet control, and I’ve known so many people it’s happened to, so you’re definitely not alone!
Can’t stop thinking about pizza now...and my DH says exactly the same thing!!

We’ve got a Snuzpod but went for sheets from John Lewis. We aren’t doing blankets, so have grow snugs/bags instead.
We did buy the mattress protector though, and it’s totally fine!

PippaPug · 27/02/2020 09:30

Thank you so much for all your congratulations!

Boys are now 9 days old and I’m totally besotted with them, even though life has completely changed!

I had a “planned” C section so if anyone wants my thoughts on that I’m happy to expand!

I felt rather let down by the after care on the post natal ward especially in regard to BF, and how to overcome it - I dont think you realise how much of a impact the whole entire experience is on you - both mentally and physically.

DH is being wonderful - he has slotted right into fatherhood, it’s amazing to see him love these tiny little people and makes me love him even more.

Hope everyone is well - whose due date is next?

cupcakesandglitter · 27/02/2020 11:12

@purplefig your story sounds amazing, I'm so glad you had a positive experience, especially with the pool! 💕

Thanks @ELW85 I hope I give birth beforehand tbh I'm just fed up now 😂 as if he was on your train! Bless him, as much as he wishes he could be an ordinary person I fear it'll always be like this for him 🙁 I hope you're getting plenty of rest after your travel?!

@Larrydavid oh fantastic!! Enjoy every second, have a safe flight x

@LokiCat ahh I'm massively pleased for you, you're doing so well especially with your diet - a one off baby shower isn't going to harm you 😊 honestly not much - the kitchen will be installed and I'll get my brows and maybe nails done in a couple of weeks but otherwise nada 😂 tbh just looking forward to resting up and being able to thoroughly clean the house 😂

Ahhh @PippaPug that's insane they're already 9 days! 😮 I'd be interested in your story too if you don't mind? 😁

Almost three weeks until my induction date! Getting very surreal now that I could meet her at any time 😭

LikeTheFruit · 27/02/2020 17:03

@purplefig thanks so much for sharing your birth story! Sounds great! Hope all is well with you and M

@ELW85 glad your midwife appointment went well and yay for more platelets!! Not many days of work for you left, I found I've been so much more tired since stopping working. I think you get the energy to power through from somewhere! I was only 3/5 at 38 weeks. My birth plan was pretty vague too, there are just too many variables for me to be definite about much.

@Larrydavid hope you have a fab time in New York. Seems to be the place to go in pregnancy. There's at least 3 others of the thread who went in their 2nd trimesters! Yeah it's been me at the gym, found this amazing PT who does an antenatal and post natal circuits class. Definitely still moving around so well because of it.

@cupcakesandglitter lovely bump pic! Not long until your induction date, fingers crossed your lovely little one decides to come all by herself just before it!

@LokiCat I know can't believe I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow! Still a chance for a 29th Feb baby! We're pretty much organised, just need to do a thorough clean of the flat really! How long til your mat leave starts?
So glad your growth scan went well, you're doing so well with your GDM management too, I'm so impressed. I'd be awful at it. Also I got officially snuzpod mattress protector but bought sheets from JL - bedside crib size. The mattress protector just kind of sits flat on top of mattress, doesn't attach on anywhere.

@PippaPug wow 9 days old already! That's flown by! Hope you had a lovely anaesthetic team looking after you for your section. Think I'm next in terms of due date! Next Friday!! Though midwife on Monday was sure that I wouldn't have delivered by next appointment on 9th! But we'll see! Getting more BHs now, they kept me awake for a while last night

Finished my work course which was very tiring, on feet all day yesterday and spent more of evening and early night with Braxton Hicks - honestly thought baby might be thinking about making an appearance at one point! Annoyingly my mat leave pay hasn't come though but was only for 6 days of this month so haven't lost too much but will be straight into payroll in the morning. My DH's grandparents are up visiting this weekend which is lovely.

ELW85 · 28/02/2020 17:28

Afternoon and happy Friday!!

37 weeks tomorrow and my pelvis and back have been very achy. I’m assuming it’s just stretching in preparation.

How are we all?

@cupcakesandglitter - I feel really sorry for Harry. He’s just trying to be happy, and why not?
DH and I have a rare full weekend together so I’m very much looking forward to chilling and having some downtime with him!

@LikeTheFruit - couldn’t agree more about the variables and birth plan. I’m going with the flow. But really happy about the platelets, too!
Only 10 working days left and then I can relax.
And am I right in thinking you’re next to go? 😊

MrsH497 · 28/02/2020 21:03

@ELW85 wow 37 already!! Had my 28 week midwife today baby is head down lovely little heartbeat (150bpm) all really good. I need a bit more iron rich food but she's not worried. Get this the blood tests got rejected again so had to have more done today!

So glad it's Friday I'm shattered this week. Anyone got any nice plans this weekend? X

ELW85 · 29/02/2020 19:38

@MrsH497 - I’m so pleased that your appointment went so well! You never get sick of hearing the heartbeat do you?
Why did the blood tests get rejected again? Was it just environmental contamination or something?!
I hope you’re having a nice weekend so far! X

We had our final new baby Practical course today and it occurred to me that the next time we go to the birthing centre, I’ll be in labour!
It’s our baby shower tomorrow and then 10 working days left for me. Very excited given how tired I’ve been this last week.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend 😀

MrsH497 · 29/02/2020 19:56

@ELW85 midwife said it was because they hadn't hand written my details on the vial and used a printed label which they aren't meant to and should have known. 3 attempts to get the blood this time! I just love hearing the heartbeat 🥰
Started picking some bits up for the hospital bag today just things like breast pads, maternity pads stuff like that. Having a relaxing evening and no plans tomorrow!

cupcakesandglitter · 29/02/2020 22:22

Thankyou @LikeTheFruit 😊 that's pants about your mat pay, hopefully you've got it sorted with HR? Have you had more braxton hicks today? X

Ahh @ELW85 you're getting ready that's crazy!! Hope you're enjoying your weekend and are well rested! X

@MrsH497 oh god, more tests?! 🤦🏻‍♀️ hopefully these are your final ones 😂 it is lovely hearing the heartbeat 🥰

I've officially finished work wahooo! Hello mat leave 😂 Went to a friends post baby shower today - popped a picture on here of me and bump at week 35! So exciting that she's going to be here soon 😭 Hope you're all enjoying your weekend 💕

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 9!
ELW85 · 01/03/2020 09:08

Morning all!

So excited for the baby shower today; although it would have been one of my very good friend’s birthdays (list him a couple of years ago) so I’m sure it’ll be emotional.

@MrsH497 - oh dear, I bet you feel like a pin cushion! How was your evening?
Hospital bag packing is one of those things it took me ages to do, but it’s so good to get it done isn’t it? I’ve been reading advice on healthy snacks for labour and wholemeal sandwiches are up there. I can’t really imagine wanting anything but I guess I should grab some on the way in!

@cupcakesandglitter - you look great! How are you feeling? I’m very jealous of your Mat leave starting now! I managed to sleep through the night last night (first time in ages) and feel pretty good for it but I also had numerous work dreams that I could have done without!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

LikeTheFruit · 01/03/2020 11:24

Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone is well. Just back from maybe last ore-baby circuit class, argh!

@ELW85 yeah I'm next! Due on Friday, bought some pineapple and raspberry leaf tea yesterday 😂😂😂. Enjoy your baby shower 🎉🎉

@MrsH497 cant believe they keep messing up your blood sampling, such a pain! Lovely you got to hear baby again!

@cupcakesandglitter thank you. Spoke to payroll and it's something to do with mat leave being calculated weekly and it would have been less than a full week's payment. So getting 5 weeks next month instead. Gorgeous bump pic! Enjoy mat leave!

We've had lovely weekend so far, DH's grandparents were up visiting so went for fish&chips and ice cream yesterday. G I t yoga class this afternoon and really need to do some cleaning 😂😂

MrsH497 · 01/03/2020 11:29

@ELW85 have the best baby shower!!

@LikeTheFruit I know!! The midwife was not impressed so she's now done the bloods and fingers crossed that's the last time! Ooh when's your due date?!

Off to do an Aldi shop (exciting life!) and some baby shower prep - decided just to have a small get together at my mums house at the end of this month

Have a lovely day ladies.

LikeTheFruit · 01/03/2020 11:49

@MrsH497 due on Friday! 6th March.

MrsH497 · 01/03/2020 11:51

@LikeTheFruit eek!! So exciting!!

LokiCat · 01/03/2020 12:33

@ELW85 happy 37 weeks! Enjoy your baby shower today ❤️

@cupcakesandglitter you look so gorgeous!! Can't believe you'll be meeting your little one in three weeks - so excited for you!!
Enjoy mat leave 😊 a bit of pampering for yourself before baby comes sounds perfect!!

@MrsH497 cant believe your bloods got rejected again! How ridiculous.
Glad baby is in the right position though and doing well. Enjoy baby shower prep! I've got mine in two weeks, so excited 😊

@LikeTheFruit eeek so close! Hope the pineapple and raspberry leaf tea can start kicking things off 😂 your weekend sounds lovely! Fish and chips, plus ice cream sounds so good right now!
I've got four weeks till my mat leave starts, so not long to go!
Enjoy yoga! I need to clean the house a bit as well today. I never have energy these days 🙈

Going to my nephews birthday this afternoon, just need to wrap some presents first. I told my SIL I'd meet them at the house after as going to soft play with hyped up kids is not my kind of fun! 😂
Not looking forward to being back at work tomorrow after a week off. I was enjoying my lie ins so much; the 5:30 start is going to be horrible!
Have a lovely Sunday ladies xx

ELW85 · 01/03/2020 18:38

Hi All!

Had the nicest time at the baby shower but absolutely exhausted as a result!
Thought I’d post a photo from today of bump at 37 weeks. I felt glamorous for a bit but now I’m just ready to go to bed.
We had a lovely afternoon tea at the Malmaison- the sliders were SO good!

@LikeTheFruit - can’t believe it’s Friday for you! Any inkling of labour slowly coming on? Very jealous of the fish and chips!

@MrsH497 - I hope your baby shower prep went well?

@LokiCat - I feel you on the early starts. Awful! Those last 4 weeks will absolutely fly over though, trust me!

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 9!
MrsH497 · 01/03/2020 20:44

@ELW85 you look stunning!

cupcakesandglitter · 02/03/2020 08:55

Thanks @ELW85 you look fantastic too! Glad you enjoyed your baby shower 😊 you're into days now until you finish so hopefully this week flies by! I can't believe you're full term already 😳 it really has flown!!

Ahh @LikeTheFruit glad they've sorted it for next month for you - I can't believe you're due on Friday!! I remember you getting your BFP!! How's the tea?

Thankyou @LokiCat I definitely need the time off, I can't deal with work right now 😂 the next four weeks will fly by for you!
