Ah - see what I did there? [wink}
Hope it's ok to start a new thread. Computer couldn't cope with the old one.

Ok here, but am on operation not-go-mad today as have been feeling pretty down. Friend over this morning and will waddle into town this afternoon. This will render me exhausted and will then sleep/graze until bedtime.
Have also watched far too many baby progs on Discovery Health. Have become an armchair expert in giving birth ("ooh, you don't want to do that love"). Will get my come uppance soon enough!!!! Eek!!

Miffy I am having a small baby too - its on the tenth percentaille for head circumference etc. Mind you according to my midwife it isn't head size that affects wether you tear but if it puts its chin on its chest as its born.

melsmum · 06/10/2004 17:04

hows it going cazzybabs? got my fingers crossed for you. cant wait to tell my dh that we have to do it x3 12 hours apart thanks piglit!

Turtle35 · 06/10/2004 18:27

I was told you have to be at it all day for you to get enough prostaglandin to open up/move up your cervix (what ever they do - get ripe)

Was also told Clary Sage aromatherapy can get things moving, clearly just burn in a burning bowl with water.

Distracted and Cazzybabs hope it happens for your late Mooses tonight, by the way your are officially a Moose once you join the Oct thread

Has anyone been taking arnica?

Toots · 06/10/2004 18:38

geogteach · 06/10/2004 19:45

Toots congrats - you lucky lady!
It is possible to have siblings on the same day, my MIL and her sister share a birthday.
I know i'm due tomorrow and i'd love it to come then but I think i'm so conditioned by previous experience I can see me being here a good week yet.

florenceuk · 06/10/2004 20:23

wow, brilliant news Toots! Feeling very envious that all your waiting is over! Gosh we are having a lot of action on this thread. Bean I know just what you mean about not really believing it's going to happen - pity for me, my due date is a good week off!!! Have to admit sex and curries off my agenda - both make me very uncomfortable at the mo, so DH just has to put up with grumpy fat me....

Have been awake since 5am, have been very uncomfortable, am going slowly mad.... if anyone else tells me to "enjoy this time" I may have to be restrained!!!

Happy due date Geogteach!
CB and Distracted - how are you getting on?
Turtle - thanks for the calendar updates.

OP posts:
melsmum · 07/10/2004 08:12

congrats toots and take it easy beansprout!!! remember and relax!!! i too have been up since 5am but sadly not in labour. my 2 year old i think is getting her big back teeth. oh the joys!!! still, means i got to watch finding nemo for the zillionth time. lucky me!!! ps i feel left out on the calender updates - i'm 31 and i have a dd who was 2 yesterday.

Toots · 07/10/2004 09:11

Weird - been up since 5 too! The baby looks like the love child of Denis Quaid and a Gurka. How that happen???????

Off to put my birth announcement up. Then plan to write a tome of tips - speaking as a first time natural birther. Thoughts of you all making me so happy in the night And I'm so in love with my girl. Love feeling her back now she's out - was so proud when I could feel it along my tummy when she turned.

Thanks for all the lovely thoughts. Harman - never forgotten

piglit · 07/10/2004 09:15

Wonderful news Toots. Congratulations.

Can't wait to hear ALL about it.

Nothing to report here. Had an uncomfortable day yesterday with lots of aches but nothing at all today. Beansprout - couldn't agree more about the "enjoy it while you can comments" Grrr... I am so uncomfortable and even going out for a 20 minute walk takes all my energy. Every time I feel a twinge I think "Yikes - is this it?"

melsmum · 07/10/2004 09:15

toots that brought a tear to my eye

eyelash · 07/10/2004 10:45

Best of luck to all of you still waiting.

I wonder how sooz31, cazzybabs and distracted are doing!

beansprout · 07/10/2004 10:52

Same here Piglit. Today I have decided that I might actually have a baby after all and am now on the lookout for any hint of labour, no matter how tenuous, e.g. I read that the day before it all happens we might feel "indulgent". I crawled back to bed and couldn't be ar$ed to get up.... so hey presto!! Yeah right....!

Toots - where will be able to find your tome of tips? We are your discipiles... I have already upped my fibre intake!

OP posts:
Turtle35 · 07/10/2004 11:27

big hugs to those of you who are late. I think I am going out of my mind and still have over TWO weeks to go, had a huge cry last night cause I am so fed up with being in pain. I dread going to bed cause I know I will be rolling over every hour in agony with my hips, I am taking paracetemol which I know is fine for baby but makes me feel guilty and does sod all but constipate me worse than I already am. I want to be done with this....... I really need some cheering up, I think DH is fed up with my moaning and complaining.

Toots I am soooo pleased for you. Tips......
