After a mmc with my first pregnancy at 40 earlier this year, I would love to hear any success stories of any over 40s who have achieved a successful pregnancy! Xx

Hi Chickoletta. Hope you are well. Hope your body kicks in quickly. It took me from May until August to get an AF. However I had retained tissue that ended up in a huge bleed in October which I think set me back miles. It’s a year now since I mc so feeling a bit wobbly but still actively ttc and my af has finally settled down over the last couple of months to not be flooding me off my feet. Everything still to play for and doing everything I can. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 For you and everyone else ttc. We managed it once so every day must be a day closer to it happening. Much love xx

Thank you, @Liissaa. ‘All to play for’ is definitely the way to think of it.

AF arrived today for me, 33 days after the start of my MC. Feeling so pleased that everything is back to normal. Operation TTC begins soon...

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Hi all, I'm 43 and currently trying again for a third baby after 4 MCs, I'm blessed with two daughters 9 and 5 but I'm desparate for another baby. I found out after my 3rd MC that I have a blood clotting disorder so I'm on daily baby aspirin and I'll have daily injections if I am lucky enough to catch again. Just wanted to say I'm trying with the help of a menstruation cup and pre-seed gel this month so I'll let everyone know how it goes! 🤞

My best friend turned 45 in February this year. She gave birth to a beautiful, healthy, daughter last week.

She also has DSs’ aged 5, 4 & 2.

Hi All, nice to meet you. I am 38 but have been told my amh is extremely low and will be early menopause. We focused all energy to improve egg quality ( supplements and so on) and suffered miscarriage last month, sad as it is, heartbreaking but we also were happy to experience being pregnant for the first time ever. I got my period a few days after and I am still very light spotting for over 4 days after the period and I am not sure if this is normal? Thank you for any advice.

Hi Leala20 Welcome! So sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Egg quality is something I have to focus on too. After my miscarriage I bled for around 2 weeks and the doctors classed this as normal. If you feel that something isn’t right, get it checked. Fingers crossed for you for next time xx

@Liissaa thank you that’s reassuring to know. Hope all goes well. I started worrying if the supplements I have been taking following it starts with an egg book, maybe have side effects or do not help?

@Leala20 I’m reading that book too and also Fertile by Emma Cannon. I’m taking 1 pregnacare conception, 600mg of coq10 and 2 vital dha every day. I read about these supplements in various books and on Luisa zissman’s blog about fertility. I seem fine taking them so far xx

@Liissaa thank you for this thread it has filled me full of positivity. I hope it stays positive with stories of happiness.
I am almost 41 and TTC first baby since October.
I will keep checking in. Think I am going to stop reading other TTC threads due to having a negative impact on thinking. After all they're full of people who have been trying for a while!
I wish you luck 💜

@Holidaywindowshopperaddict 👋🏼
I just felt disheartened and reminded myself that generally people only share their bad experiences and not so much the good! Happy to hear from people who feel the same! Xx

Got pregnant twice at 40, and each time it only took once!

The first time it didn't 'take'.

Not sick at all, lost over a stone and a half, had amnio 3 times and dd was born on the due date weighing 7lbs 2 oz.

However, I was 41 and dh 48 when she was born. She was violent, agressive both verbally and physically. Hospitalised with pathological levels of anxiety. Tried and failed to get diagnosed with PDA.

Don't think this will help, but that's my experience.

No I don't think it is helpful. I am a psychiatric nurse and I can tell you that your age has nothing to do with that behaviour.

Hi all! I had my DS at 19, DD1 at 39. Then, got pregnant again few weeks after turning 43. We didn’t really try but it was a happy accident. Unfortunately, I had a MMS at 16 weeks. It was tough and it made us realise that we really wanted another baby. So me being 43 we decided to try fertility treatment to improve our chances but after having done all the tests, IVF with my own eggs was not an option as my ovarian reserve was very low. Before exploring other options, I had a Hycosy procedure done to check my uterus and a week later I got pregnant naturally!! So I had my perfect Dd2 at 44 and a half 😁 she is 2 now and we could not be happier.
It is possible to get pregnant naturally in your 40s, you just got to keep trying and try not to stress too much
Good luck, and happy pregnancies everyone 😊🤞🤞

Hi all Smile

Mixed emotions after finding this thread. Im 43 and got a BFP last week now 16DPO. I had a chemical pregnancy last month and am terrified im going to misscarry again due to my age. The line is really strong this time round and progressed well..but after googling its always negative information towards the older mum..miscarriages, birth defects, health complications., increased chance of twins .there seems to be so many things to worry about..any positive stories would be greatly appreciated 🙂

I just turned 40 and I am 6 weeks pregnant, due in February/March 2021. I had my last “baby” in 2001 who will be off to uni in September.

I was feeling so worried about the new baby’s well being, but this thread has helped me feel so much more positive! Thank you everyone! 💗🌷

My best friend had her first a couple of months before turning 42, conceived naturally a month before she was due to start ivf having been trying for a year and had at least 1 MC. Her baby is the most gorgeous placid little one I think I’ve ever seen. She swears by the advice it it starts with the egg.

I conceived my DD easily at 40 (DH 45) and turned 41 soon after. Easy healthy pregnancy and birth (just gestational diabetes, not age related).

None of the medical staff I encountered thought my age was remarkable.
