@BabySquid Fab bump!!

@BostonFern I love love your nursery! Beautiful. Ooh yes do let us know how you get on with the I-level! Pain is easing off - just running a bath to soak in now as we speak.

@purplefig I would 100% check out the returns policy and just go for it if I were you! I almost wish I could let you pop round here and give ours a go!! DH even tried it up and down the steps last night outside and said it was fine - it’ll be heavy with two babies inside but steers fab!
Honestly I so wouldn’t worry - my sister carried so big in the end but had no bump at all before 21 weeks. She only really looked obviously pregnant I’d say at about 7 months, when people would try and start touching her belly etc. I may even try and dig out a pic though to then show you just how much her bump grew in those last two months! She was a wrecking ball on legs. Enjoy it now - these ligament pains are a bitch!!

@purplefig Just stalked her Instagram - so the first pic (god I hope these upload in order!) in the blue top was 24 weeks and the first ‘bump’ pic she ever shared as before that, there really wasn’t much there! Second she was 7.5 months at my wedding; last one is at 38 weeks. All her growing happened towards the end for her!

Thank you @purplefig I can't take credit for the brighter colours, my DP picked the boxes and rug! Hope you get a good rest this evening. I know what you mean about bump size too, unless I was wearing tighter fitting clothes I reckon I could have hidden my bump until about 23 weeks, I think it's only looked like a proper 'can't mistake it' bump since about 27 weeks though.

Thanks @MrsEG Glad the pain is easing, enjoy your bath too.

LokiCat · 30/09/2019 18:08

Hi all 😊 hope you've had a good Monday! All the networks were down at work so no access to any documents, emails or phones! We spent the day sorting out our very messy office, instead 🤦🏻‍♀️ I really hope everything's up and running again tomorrow!

@Anny27 how far along are you? I only had sore boobs until at least 7 weeks (which I panicked about a lot, I'm sure the ladies here can tell you Grin), which is when the nausea really started.
Oh that's great! It'll be easier if you don't have to worry about buying something else.

@purplefig ahh how exciting you're feeling some proper kicks! Must be amazing to feel that!
Dress must have looked great with the bump! I can't wait to have a proper one. I'm definitely at the 'too much pasta' stage right now.

@cupcakesandglitter oh I didn't even link hair removal and spots to hormones. I've been getting so many on my legs recently! Might go for a wax to see if that helps. I don't think shaving is helping.
Haha bless you, how sweet of him!

@ELW85 oh no, sorry to hear you've might be coming down with something. I hope you feel better soon!

@MrsEG ahh gorgeous bump! Glad all is okay re bump. Definitely better to ask and get things checked out!
The Baby Show sounds like it was really great and useful. It's in London in 3 weeks, so think we'll be heading there to start doing some research on items!

@BabySquid lovely bump!! I love seeing everyone's pics of their bumps.

@BostonFern ah the nursery looks wonderful, I love the pops of colour and the lampshade! Glad that you're happy with the Snuzpod. It looks great.
We didn't end up getting to John Lewis. I felt so ill at ILs that we ended up leaving a bit earlier than planned. Hopefully we'll get a chance at the Baby Show. Also found a good discount for tickets on the Emma's Diary website 😊

Think I'm going to end up having an early one tonight. Only managed 4-5 hours sleep last night, then sorting out the office at work really took it out of me!

Have a good evening all Smile

MrsH497 · 30/09/2019 18:22

Hi ladies! Back from Devon and spoilt by the in laws. 7 weeks now boobs are definitely sore and I am nauseous in the mornings and have a loss of appetite. Anyone got recommendations for breakfast I can take to work? Normally eat porridge however that makes me want to hurl!

MrsR16 · 30/09/2019 18:54

@MrsEG such a beautiful bump! You're carrying so well! And I'm glad everything's ok and the midwife settled your nerves 😊

@BabySquid gorgeous bump too!

@BostonFern such a pretty nursery! Looks amazing!

@purplefig oh goodness, people do like to comment, don't they?!? Every pregnancy is so different and everyone carries differently! I've been feeling like a whale since about 13 weeks, but only popped at about 18! I now look like a proper kid's drawing of someone who's pregnant - Bump is all at the front, can't even tell I'm pregnant from the back!

@Anny27 welcome!! And huge congratulations 😊

@LokiCat sounds like you've had a busy day! Don't blame you for wanting an early night 😂

@MrsH497 I'm glad you had a good time! I wonder if some plain breakfast biscuits might help you out? To be fair, anything would be better than nothing!

So Peanut is sat here having hiccups... it's the weirdest feeling! 😂 it had them last night too, poor thing. Rolling around something chronic though. MIL was able to see it move last night which was awesome 😊

BostonFern · 30/09/2019 19:19

Thanks @LokiCat Enjoy your early night, it sounds much needed.

@MrsH497 glad you had a nice time in Devon. My breakfasts in the first trimester were largely M&S or belvita breakfast biscuits as I could just slowly nibble away on them as and when the nausea allowed.

@MrsR16 thank you! Aww, baby hiccups feel so weird don't they! Mine is getting them a few times a day, sometimes I think he gets fed up with them as he will start to roll and kick away after they've been going for several minutes! Lovely that your MIL got to see them move too.

LikeTheFruit · 30/09/2019 19:46

@MrsH497 embarrassingly I used to have a handful of ready salted Pringles for breakfast during first trimester! Needed salty carbs!

BabySquid · 01/10/2019 06:58

@MrsEG I'm glad you had a good time at the show and got lots of info, the mini first aid sounds like a good idea too. That's also the car seat we're thinking of. (It's cheaper in Halfords than mothercare btw!)
@purplefig yaaaay movements 🥰 and I think it's great being the same DD as you, I was also shattered yesterday and didn't make it to 9pm haha felt so uncomfortable yesterday afternoon, don't know if it was pasta or baby but everything felt so squashed in there!
@MrsH497 like the other ladies has suggested, try those breakfast biscuits? Porridge in a bar! Then you don't have to eat both at the same time, can just nibble.

I've got my flu jab and whooping cough jab this morning, dreading lifting my arms at work to get the filing done! Question for you ladies post 20 weeks... has anyone had their nips leak at 20/21 weeks? DH and I were DTD on Friday night and one of my boobs leaked a little just after I orgasmed. It was very odd and hasn't happened since.

LokiCat · 01/10/2019 07:06

Morning all! Got about 7-8 hours sleep last night thankfully! DH got me a chocolate muffin last night, which was so good but then he proceeded to eat these really smelly onion ring crisps so the muffin came right back up ☹️ I think it's the first time he realised how strong our sense of smell becomes 😂

@MrsH497 I agree with the others, the Belvita biscuits are really good for breakfast. I've recently switched to having a brioche roll for breakfast.

@MrsR16 aww poor little Peanut, I can't imagine how that must feel from inside! How amazing that your MIL saw it move, as well.

@BabySquid hope the jabs go okay this morning!

Have a brilliant day all 😁

MrsEG · 01/10/2019 07:22

@BostonFern Bath was lovely; really did ease the ache! Probably stayed in it far too long haha! How are you feeling now? Do you have much longer at work?

@LokiCat Hope the network is back up and running for you today! Such a pain when that happens! Yeah I’d definitely recommend a baby show, I found it really useful.

@MrsH497 Crumpets and toast were the go-to for me, couldn’t stomach anything else!

@MrsR16 Midwife definitely calmed me down - no sex now for a while though I can’t be dealing with pain like that afterwards!! Oh poor little peanut with the hiccups!!

@BabySquid Yeah the first aid taster was great, we’re signing up for the proper course now too! Ooh good tip on the car seats we’ll try Halfords this weekend! The jabs are fine; my arms were achy later that day but it wasn’t too bad at all. Filing I think you’ll be fine with - it was more getting my jumper off that was hard work ha!

Morning to all - I feel fairly ropey this morning as I woke up so often with achey legs! I have the osteo this week though and yoga so hoping that will all help :)

Anny27 · 01/10/2019 08:00

@LokiCat i am only 5+2 so still very early (although feels like a lifetime haha). How far along are you?

I have always had tiny boobs but i cant believe how much they have grown! One advantage of all of this (untill they shrivel up again when baby arrives 🤣)

@LikeTheFruit i like your honesty about the Pringles for breakfast in 1st tri 😂

@MrsH497 the thought of porridge and cereal also makes me quesy :S i have been having yogurt and fruit or scrambled eggs but obv not very practical for a work day!

Is everyone finding out the gender or going to wait for a surprise? My DH really wants to find out but i have always wanted to wait.....unsure now!

BabySquid · 01/10/2019 08:13

@Anny27 my DH was the same until we actually got pregnant, I always wanted a surprise and he wanted to find out just for practically really, I managed to convince him that it's the only true surprise of your life that no one else knows about or can ruin. So yeah we've gone with surprise.

mrsof20118 · 01/10/2019 09:16

Things are good thank you. Little boy is 11 weeks now time is flying. Its getting easier as he can now spend a bit of time on his playmat entertaining himself for half hour or so which means you can eat or get showered easier.
For those chatting about moses baskets, mine never took to his at all. He knew instantly if he was put in a sleep state into it. A cloth sling was a lifesaver in the early weeks as meant they slept and could do little tasks. Breastfeeding is now second nature. If any of you do try the first six weeks can be so tough but then it really does click.
Also one tip... Only allow visitors who want to help either cook, clean or hold the baby whilst you eat, shower or sleep. We had some relatives visit who just wanted to come here and be waited on the entire stay which made it even harder x

purplefig · 01/10/2019 09:19

@MrsEG oh that would be fab - unfortunately Manchester is a bit of a hike from the South West!! Might just go for it and order one, if the returns policy is decent. Thanks for sharing pics of your sisters bump, I'm still a way off her 24 week pic - but I've got three weeks of growing left to do, so I'll brace myself for a sudden pop (but not too much, lest my dress not fit)! On a side note, your wedding dress is STUNNING.

@BostonFern ahhh good taste DP!! Grin. Yes that's where I'm at now at 21 weeks, you could tell in tight clothing but it's easily hid.

@LokiCat oh man I was at at the too much pasta stage for so long...I think I'm still sort of there to be honest haha!! Hope your early night was nice and your networks are all back up and running today.

@MrsH497 I just lived on crackers or dry bread for breakfast in the first trimester. Not fun, but one of the only things that stopped me feeling nauseous.

@MrsR16 oh hiccups must be such a strange sensation - I can't imagine it! Cute your MIL got to see them move last night. Do you know what you're having? Just asking as I know there is an old wives tale about how you carry your bump and the sex. I'm 21 weeks and I would say I might have just popped?! Hard to tell.

@BabySquid yes it's fab having a DD twin!! Hahah what are we like - I went up to bed at 9pm and was gone within minutes. Then up TWICE in the night to wee. Urghhh!!! Totally get you with everything feeling squashed in there - I had a jacket potato last night and afterwards I felt like I'd eaten three rounds of all you can eat Chinese food. Hope your jabs go well this morning, probably a good idea to get them both out of the way at once. I've only had the whopping cough one and my arm was achy for a good few days and then I had a raised, red, hot bump at the injection site for at least a week. Not saying that to scare you - jure forewarn you as it took me by surprise!

@Anny27 in my experience (and it seems lots of people on here felt the same) the wait for 12 weeks seems to take ages, and then it whizzes by! As for finding out the sex, we were going to but the baby had other plans and had her/his legs crossed so the sonographer couldn't see. We've decided to have a surprise now instead. We both thought we really wanted to know, but we're not both fully on board with waiting.

Happy The Capture day everyone! I'm feeling tired again today (could be the name of my pregnancy memoir haha). I hope everyone's Tuesdays go well. x

MrsEG · 01/10/2019 09:34

@Anny27 The wait to 12 weeks can honestly feel so slow that sometimes it’s like time moves backwards!! Try and keep yourself really busy if you can, speed things up a bit!

@mrsof20118 Sounds like he’s at a fabulous age now!! I so agree on Moses baskets downstairs - pretty much everyone I know has told me not to bother, they’ll just become an accessory! Well done with the breastfeeding too and getting past those early weeks :)

@purplefig I say go for it; I honestly love it. I get tempted to take it for a spin / test drive haha! We popped the carrycots in too and it was so, so simple. Such an easy attachment. I struggle even now with my sisters pram so I feel quite smug I’ve got such an easy one ha! Ah thanks - I consider selling the dress all the time but just can’t bring myself to do it! Your bump may just be waiting on a growth spurt - one day you’ll wake up and it’ll just be there and your pelvis will be aching something rotten haha!
Ooh, forgot about Capture (I’m up to speed now!) but then it’s also GBBO day! Decisions decisions!!

thumper59 · 01/10/2019 11:01

Morning ladies hope your well, I am so behind!!

35+1 today. Not feeling to bad! The wedding was beautiful on Saturday, we had a lovely day. My friend looked gorgeous, but she could look gorgeous in a bin bag! ( she's that friend 🙄). We was out the house at 11:30am and back in it at 1am the following morning. I kept my heels on alllll day and I danced to every R'n'B song that came on with my girls, and a few little dances with OH. It was glorious.

So I am officially due next month, so exciting!! I'll read through and bring myself upto speed now. Attached a pic from Saturday, I cropped myself out so I wasn't posting pics of the girls without their permission. I think that will be the last wear I get out of the dress anyway as it's truly miserable here today xx

thumper59 · 01/10/2019 11:14

@MrsEG your bump is gorgeous! Sorry I did have to giggle at the shame of saying orgasm to your midwife 😂😂

@BabySquid what a beautiful bump! X

@BostonFern that looks lovely. I love the look of the snuzpods!

@MrsR16 the hiccups are fab aren't they. Little man always has them! He's like me.

For those who had comments on bumps- they vary so much! I feel huge now, and I either get told I'm huge and people are shocked I've got so long left or that it's small and neat so who knows! People just love to comment I think.

BabySquid · 01/10/2019 11:39

@mrsof20118 that's a really good tip, most of my friends who are coming after I give birth already make themselves at home so I don't need to worry about waiting on them. I'm glad the feeding has got easier too, I'm going to try persevere with it.

@thumper59 good on ya girl for dancing to all the RnB, I went to a wedding like that but was only 10 weeks and couldn't face dancing, I was gutted!! AMAZING dress! You have such taste in dresses I love them all!

purplefig · 01/10/2019 12:04

@mrsof20118 sounds like you guys are settling in to life together! Out of interest - where does he sleep at night if not in a Moses basket? Great tip on the visitors - I'm definitely not waiting on people Grin

@MrsEG oh wow, that sounds so easy breezy which is 10000% what I'm after! Isn't GBBO 8pm? Double whammy ;)

@thumper59 wow just look at your bump now - not long to go! I'm very impressed you kept your heels on too...I definitely bought a pair of flats ready to change into once the photos are over for the upcoming wedding I'm attending! FWIW, I find it so strange and eyebrow raising when people refer to bumps as 'neat'. Just seems a bizarre descriptor. Are other bumps 'un-neat'?! What does it even mean?!

MrsEG · 01/10/2019 13:19

@thumper59 Beautiful dress you look fabulous!! Well done you lasting the whole night! I’m trying to decide at the moment whether to go to our staff Xmas do or not - I’ll be 30 weeks... but it sounds like so much fun haha! People comment on my bump LOADS and I get a mixture of ‘you’re massive!’ to ‘Oh mine wasn’t that much smaller at your stage’ so who even knows. Like you say, people just like to comment don’t they!

@purplefig On the Moses basket front, my sis and friends kids would sleep in one at night in their room, but flat out refused it downstairs for daytime naps. Babies are fickle creatures haha! Ooh yes GBBO is at 8! Double feature!!

Had a work risk assessment and they are getting me a birthing ball to sit on at my desk rather than my chair! I do find the chair so uncomfortable and apparently my grimaces as I’ve been getting up have been noticed! they’ve also okay’d 2 permanent regular WFH days per week and this can increase later on if I need it so I can avoid driving. They’re being pretty fab with me!

OP posts:
MrsH497 · 01/10/2019 13:36

@MrsEG that's awesome you've got 2 permanent WFH days. I honestly don't see why I can't have WFH days but my sergeant is adamant that it's not something we do in our office. Your company seem fab with looking after you.

thumper59 · 01/10/2019 13:41

@BabySquid aw Thankyou, urgh the early days are naff. I felt fab on the night- I paid for it on Sunday! I was aching all over and exhausted- like a hangover without the drink! Haha

@purplefig not long at all now although I'm sure these weeks will drag! Yeah I had my lower heels in the car, I never changed into them though. I think my feet are that destroyed from years of heel wearing they can just cope with it. Yeah it's a random thing to say isn't it! I definitely don't look 'neat' or nothing of the sort when I don't have my clothes on. I resemble an egg 🥚

@MrsEG eee that's gonna be close for you isn't it! I get serious fomo so have still had to attend everything 😂😂 can you play it by ear and see how you are closer to the time? Yeah it's a real random one, I've never really thought about anyone's bump 😂 it seems such a weird thing for people to comment on when you think about it! I'm glad work are being good to you!

Having loads of issues with our Moses basket delivery... starting to get a bit pissed off if I'm honest! Was meant to be 2 weeks.. it's 4 weeks this weekend and apparently they're 'due early next week' how many times have I heard that!! It's from a local company we've got all our stuff from so far but it's not been without its troubles 😬 glad I started ordering everything at 13 weeks!

MrsR16 · 01/10/2019 13:46

@BostonFern they certainly are weird!

@BabySquid hope your jabs went well!

@LokiCat it's really gentle movements! And very frequent. DH struggles to feel them which he gets annoyed about (he loves feeling baby!)

@MrsEG I'm glad the midwife helped 😊 it may not happen again! But better to be comfortable! Omg you get a birthing ball?!? That's amazing! You sound like you work for a superb place! I'm debating about my work's Christmas do... I'll be 38 and a half! Think that might be a bit close for comfort! 😂

@purplefig it is very weird, but it's super cute 😊 no, we don't know what we're having. My mum reckons we're having a boy because of the way I'm carrying. Others reckon I'm carrying a girl because I haven't suffered with any sickness or horrendous symptoms! We'll wait and see 😂

@thumper59 as I figured, bloody gorgeous! 😂 you did so well! I've got a formal dinner coming up and I've got no idea how I'm going to last the night! Hiccups are just so adorable - the best thing is that they're not uncomfortable when baby gets them, just little dinky jolts 😍

BabySquid · 01/10/2019 14:04

@MrsEG your work sounds fab getting you a ball and letting you WFH.
Jabs went ok, as far as being stabbed with a needle goes haha the nurse said my arms would ache but so far nothing so been able to get my filing done (all folders on top/middle shelves) so that's a relief.
