@TrashKitten10 congratulations, she's adoreable!
Glad to hear you're feeling happier now, but don't ever think you're a failure-you've grown and bought a new life into this world, you're superwoman!

@purplefig thanks for sharing this link, I have done the digital pack, but hadn't seen the blog. How's your cat?
What a bargain on that cardigan too!

@MrsR16 how are you feeling today?

@PippaPug how lovely to hear your babies are so active! Sorry your feeling anxious about next week, I know what you mean though, I always feel so much better when DP is here these days-I think the hormones must make it worse. Enjoy your massage though, that's a nice treat to look forward to!

@cupcakesandglitter I'm so pleased your scan went well and that it's provided some reassurance.

@RanchoRelaxo what a lovely update, glad you're doing well.

@Fivebyfive2 how was NCT? We're the fireworks good this year? Hopefully the grounds dried out ok after the flooding last week and the rain yesterday!

@thumper59 sorry to hear your cold has made you feel so ill. Isn't it exciting to say we will have our babies this month! I can't wait now!

@Anny27 I'm so sorry to hear your news 💐

@MrsEG your poor dog-was he any better last night? I wish members of the general public couldn't just buy fireworks to use at home- we had some neighbours a few years ago who clearly didn't know how to use them safely, I was terrified for their children's safety!
Re heartburn, I've had really bad reflux since 24 weeks-made my ears burn and ache! After trying gaviscon for a few weeks my consultant put me on ranitidine at my 28 week appointment- at first it was like a miracle cure! However, the last few weeks it hasn't been very effective, so at the last appointment (36 weeks) we've switched to omeprazole-been on it about 5 days now and it seems to be helping-certainly no ear burning pain so far!

@LokiCat those cupcakes look amazing!

@CobaltRose96 she is so cute! How can she be 7.5months already though?!

I've had a quiet couple of days at home, feeling pretty uncomfortable now and the grey, rainy weather made me want to hibernate!
Had the GTT test on Thursday-ended up with what felt like an MOT as my heart rate went weird (thanks to my heart condition-don't worry if you're due a GTT, it's not what happens to everyone!). Ended up in a bed on the ante-natal ward with a Dr seeing me, getting all the check ups, then on the CTG machine (baby was fine, in fact he was partying away!), and ecg machine - honestly, all I needed was for the test to be over and a cheese sandwich and I was ok again, I was so embarrassed! I can't fault the staff at the hospital though, they were so thorough- @Fivebyfive2 @cupcakesandglitter if you've not experienced the antenatal ward yet, they are really good, so don't worry about having to contact them! Also-any we did the labour ward tour a few weeks ago, so feel free to fire away any questions!

LokiCat · 03/11/2019 08:47

Morning all!

@Fivebyfive2 @MrsR16 @thumper59 @MrsEG @BostonFern thanks ladies! Cupcakes went down a treat (especially with my nieces and nephews) 😂 and the response to our announcement was so lovely. It was an amazing day 😊

@MrsR16 glad everything was okay at the scan in the end! Enjoy your last 15 days at work, how exciting!

@purplefig I hope so. Everyone should be back in from Monday, so hopefully things will quieten down. Although I've got quite a few training weeks away around the country coming up so no doubt that will tire me out!
Have you tried M&S bra fitting service before? Debating giving that a go today to get some new bras. I hope you enjoyed drinks last night!
Oh I remember you were asking about the bold/formatting issue - I've noticed it happens if I tag the same person more than once in a post (no doubt it'll happen in this one...). Not sure how to avoid it 🤷🏽‍♀️

@MrsEG I saw a baby planet stand at the Baby Show and they had a huge queue at the till, so it seems to be pretty popular. I've read mixed reviews about their delivery/after service online though, that's why we're hoping mamas and papas will price match, so we can order direct instead. I think they have a shop in Leicester though, if you're close by.

@CobaltRose96 oh she is so cute!! Loving the photos 😍

@BostonFern oh no, sorry to hear about the aftermath of the GTT test! That must have felt quite scary, but glad the staff were all on top of things (and that your cheese sandwich helped). My midwife mentioned at the booking in appointment that I'm due to have a GTT test but didn't really expand much on when it's supposed to be, so I've got that to look forward to!

Off for some baby shopping with DH and my parents later today, I'm so excited! We haven't really done much apart from browsing at the baby show. I know I always go crazy over baby clothes cuteness so will have to restrain myself 😂
Have a lovely Sunday everyone😊

Fivebyfive2 · 03/11/2019 08:50

@Bostonfern, oooo how did the tour go?? Someone mentioned it at NCT yesterday, but they just went to look at the water birth set up, which I don't think we'll be opting for. Although maybe worth keeping an open mind I guess! The fireworks were fab, better than last year I thought. The music was all film/TV themes and the sound was better.

So, NCT went well, a watsap group has formed and there's a mix of people which is nice! We went through pain relief options, how partners can support during labour, the stages of labour etc. And there were plenty of snacks, which is obviously the most important bit 😂

How did everyone's pets get on, I imagine there were quite a few displays last night?

@colbotrose96, oh my god, Scarlett has grown so much! I love seeing the updates from those who have their babies, it's fantastic 🙂

BostonFern · 03/11/2019 08:54

@LokiCat don't worry about the GTT test-this is the second one I've had done due to baby's big belly! The first one was absolutely fine, they took one blood sample, I drank an orange flavoured drink and sat in a waiting room for two hours before they took the second sample. This one would have been the same-it's only because my heart condition has got worse over the last few weeks of pregnancy that it went a bit off-plan! I think no sugar, then lots of sugar just sent my heart rate a bit weird!
Enjoy baby shopping-I'm having to be really good with all the Christmas clothes coming out, otherwise all this baby will be wearing in December is baby clothes 😂

BostonFern · 03/11/2019 08:57

@Fivebyfive2 if you give the labour ward a call they'll put you down for a tour (Saturdays or Sundays)-if you fancy a water birth they do a talk for that too, the posters are up by the antenatal clinic reception, I think it's the last Wednesday of the month (but not in December). I'm also planning on going to see the hospital 'breast feeding guru' at her drop in clinic tomorrow to talk about colostrum harvesting, apparently that's something you can drop into in the last few weeks of your pregnancy if you fancy it.

ELW85 · 03/11/2019 09:10

Morning all!

DH is having an unexpected day off so we’re getting ready to go out for some breakfast. So excited!

@LokiCat - pleased the cupcakes went down well; they looked amazing! Can’t believe you’ve got your 16 week appointment soon! That’s flown over! Enjoy the shopping 😊 we need to go and do some with my Mam soon which will be fun.

@BostonFern - sorry to hear you needed to go in to the ward, but it’s great that everything is well.

@MrsEG - how amazing to get to see them move! I think I need to just accept that some days he’ll be more active than others, so as long as I feel something it’ll all be fine.
I hope your dog is ok. The fireworks were plentiful around here last night, which was bad enough for humans let alone pets!

@purplefig - I hope you had a nice night with your friends and that the maternity form isn’t too stressful!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone - it’s miserable here so a full day of housework it is!

Fivebyfive2 · 03/11/2019 09:11

@Bostonfern, that's great advice, thank you! I'll give them a call and try to arrange things! Xx

MrsR16 · 03/11/2019 09:27

@BostonFern very tired! Making the most of a lie in while DH had to go out early today. We did more to the nursery yesterday and I probably overdid it again 🤦‍♀️ hopefully we'll be getting a carpet for the nursery today though! I'm glad you're doing ok though - sounds like you were looked after well!

@CobaltRose96 7.5 months?!? Where did that go??

@LokiCat I'm happy everything went well with the announcement!! Enjoy baby shopping today 😊

@ELW85 enjoy your breakfast with DH! Yay for unexpected days off 😊

DH went to Mothercare unsupervised yesterday - he came home with baby's coming home outfit! It's super cute and lovely and warm 😊

Catching up with TTC #1, thread 7!
cupcakesandglitter · 03/11/2019 09:43

@ELW85 definitely feeling a bit better thanks 😊 is it your 20w scan on weds? X

@Anny27 so sorry to hear that, please look after yourself ❤️ xx

Thanks @PippaPug im 18+1 today!! So surreal saying that 😂 ahhh your nursery idea sounds lovely! I love penguins 🥰 x

Ahhhh @TrashKitten10 what a cutie 😭🥰 congratulations, she's beautiful!! You definitely are a proper mum and you made a baby! Definitely not a failure x

@MrsEG once your furniture is up you'll have a proper nursery omg 😭🥰 just read about your dog, poor baby :( is he okay? X

Thanks for the book recommendation @Fivebyfive2 ive not looked at anything yet 😂 x

@purplefig enjoy the new bra, comfort is key 😂😂 x

Glad everything's looking okay with baby @MrsR16 😊 x

Thankyou @LokiCat it was incredible, I'm completely besotted with her! I have felt her kick 😊 I think I picked up on them quite early but the last week or so they've definitely got stronger, but she's still quite low down. Those cupcakes look amaaaaazing 🤤 did you go to Nando's?! Hope you find some cute bits today - we couldn't resist waiting!! Xx

Ahh @thumper59 the countdown is on!! One day to go - what're your plans for tomorrow? X

@CobaltRose96 7.5?! Where has that time gone?! She's beautiful 😭😭 x

Thankyou @BostonFern ❤️ I haven't yet, but I'm glad you've had a good experience!!! I don't even know where to begin with questions 😂 fire away with anything you can think of, it's so overwhelming 😅 x

@Fivebyfive2 Glad you enjoyed your NCT class!! Can't wait to find/start one and make parent friends 🤣 x

Good morning everyone 😂😂 spent the last two days going CRAZY in the spare room! Gutted everything out so that I can sell the furniture, we've got the flooring for Smidge's bedroom and are off soon to go and buy her paint too! Went to a gig on Friday night that completely knocked me out - and I was sat down!! I was really well looked after though, security took me down in the lift 😎 I've just ordered the rocking chair for the nursery and honestly am ready to go back to sleep 😅 happy Sunday!! X

cupcakesandglitter · 03/11/2019 09:43

Ahhh @MrsR16 how cute is that!!! I love it! 🥰

MrsH497 · 03/11/2019 10:14

@Anny27 we had the mc in mid May and I was pregnant again by September. You mustn't put pressure on yourself though your body needs to heal.

@CobaltRose96 she's so gorgeous!

What's everyone up to today?

MrsEG · 03/11/2019 10:22

@MrsR16 chewable Gaviscon!! I’ll have to look in to it!! That outfit is adorable!

@ CobaltRose96 Scarlett is gorgeous!! How are you getting on? Having fun with weaning/teething?!

@BostonFern I see my consultant on weds so I’m going to mention the heartburn to her! Gosh your GTT test sounds like a right ordeal! Glad all is sorted now :) Not long to go now!! We’ve a few babies due before the end of the year don’t we, you, @thumper59 @MrsR16? Can’t wait for the pics!!

@LokiCat Glad you had such a lovely day!! I’m in Manchester - I know our local John Lewis will price match anything though so I’ll take a look!

@ELW85 I see them move a lot now but I think it’s fairly standard when there’s 8 limbs in there - much less room to hide!! Enjoy your breakfast out - we made a fab one at home with fresh olive loaf - heaven!

@cupcakesandglitter sounds like a very productive weekend!! I know - I reckon in 2 weeks the nursery will be complete now :)

Happy Sunday! Had a much better night with the dog, used the medicine from the vets and he was a lot better, especially given there were fireworks all night from about 5 til midnight!! Nursery is also getting there - all painting is done, wardrobe is up! I’m off to pick up the curtains today. I want DH to build the cots too but he’s knackered!! Just found out my cousins wife is pregnant so off to see her tonight!

purplefig · 03/11/2019 11:27

@MrsR16 ooo that's great you'll get a maternity discount at the hairdressers! I've already booked my pre due date eye wax 😂

@MrsEG it's so hard with pets isn't it? Because you don't have language to explain. Poor thing. How're you feeling? Did decorating day go well?

@CobaltRose96 congrats! What a cutie!

@BostonFern no problem at all, hope there's some helpful stuff in there. Your Thursday sounds so stressful - glad it all worked out ok in the end. ❤️

@LokiCat I have tried the fitting service before and I didn't really rate it. Also I was after something that can grow with me for as long as poss. Ended up with these and they are so comfy (feels like I'm wearing nothing!) - really good reviews too: www.marksandspencer.com/2-pack-maternity-seamfree-padded-full-cup-bras/p/clp22443572?color=WhiteandBlack ooo good spot on the formatting - hadn't noticed that. Enjoy shopping!

Has anyone had any luck getting relief from back ache?

Mine is now sore every day and it's starting to grind me down a bit. The worst thing is I'm worried it's going to get worse as the baby gets bigger. The only relief I can get is in the bath. A hot water bottle helps ish. Paracetamol doesn't touch it. Off to make a roast dinner and drown my sorrows in gravy 🤣 happy Sunday all! X

thumper59 · 03/11/2019 11:28

Morning all! Slightly nicer day here today! Didn't make it for shopping yesterday we both napped on the sofa instead 🙄 so got that to do and popping to the in laws, still no sign of baby and it's due date tomorrow so he better get a move on!

@purplefig ooo well my colds eased off a little today so if I can breathe enough tonight I'll see if I can work up the energy 😂 so funny how much of a U turn you do since TTC, well in the third trimester for me it's been an absolute no go😂 hope you had a lovely night. The rank Bra's are amazing!! I don't think I'll ever wanna go back from nursing bras and the biggest knickers you've ever seen now!

@MrsR16 haha my hospital bag is the same! Started off really organised now everything is crammed in and over flowing 😂

@MrsEG glad your dog was a little better yesterday, we got some of the spot on stuff you put on like flea drops and it made a world of difference to ours! I was amazed. Yeah I've had increased Braxton hicks and I think I've been loosing my mucus plug over the last 2 days but it isn't bloody it's just well, mucus! But different to usual discharge, but nothing has happened that's given me any indication labour is coming soon and everything you google says it may or may not be a sign, and it could mean hours or weeks so completely unhelpful! It's looking likely I'll be having my sweep tomorrow 😫

@CobaltRose96 she is gorgeous! Where has the time gone!!

@BostonFern yeah it's so exciting they will defo be here this month!! I've got him a pudsey outfit so he better be here by the 15th absolute latest 😂😂

@LokiCat aw amazing. Telling family was my fave part of the whole process!! Loved seeing how happy they was. Enjoy shopping!!

@MrsR16 that little outfit is so so cute!!

@cupcakesandglitter wow you've been super productive! Such an exciting time getting everything ready. I don't have much planned just shopping and visiting in laws. Im feeling a fair bit better today though which is nice!!!

purplefig · 03/11/2019 11:32

Somehow missed a load of replies?!

@ELW85 ooo enjoy breakfast out - I always love that, feels so much more luxurious than lunch out!

@MrsR16 😍 ahhh that's too cute!

@cupcakesandglitter sounds like a fun weekend! Love that you got to travel by lift 🤘🏼

@MrsEG so glad to hear the pup had a better night ❤️ sounds like you're making epic progress on the nursery too. Have a fab night celebrating pregnancies!

MrsEG · 03/11/2019 12:17

@purplefig Stealing those bras! I love a bra these days that can just be S M or L, rather than a proper size!! Yeah dog is much better. He’s exhausted today but seemed so much less scared! For the back pain I’d really suggest physio if you can; better to nip these things in the bud while you can.

@thumper59 It must be so annoying just sitting around waiting for something to happen! Just stay warm and comfy and he’ll be along soon - just think, no matter what at some point in the next 2 weeks he’ll be here!

Question - has anyone ever noticed ligament pains in the centre of their bump rather than the sides/bottom? Doing a lot of cleaning today and notice when I’m bending down and standing back up I’m getting a sharp pain in the middle of my bump. I’m certain it’s ligament or muscle pain but just weird it’s right in the middle!

OP posts:
ELW85 · 03/11/2019 12:47

Afternoon!

@MrsEG - your olive loaf sounds amazing! Breakfast out was lovely and it’s nice to be home post-shopping to be able to crack on with house stuff. Sort of!
I’ve had the central pain you’ve mentioned and the midwife said it’s muscular because of the relaxin, you can pull muscles more easily so take your time!

@purplefig - I am so jealous of your Sunday dinner, but really sorry to hear your back pain is getting you down.
Do you think a supportive girdle type thing could help?

@cupcakesandglitter - it is Wednesday, well remembered 😊 I’m excited for it at the moment but I know come Tuesday I’ll be getting a bit nervous again! X

@thumper59 - wow, that’s flown over, I can’t believe it’s tomorrow! Enjoy the last of the napping whilst you can, haha!

@MrsR16 - Ah it’s so lovely that DH did a wonderful job with the coming home outfit! Is it all getting massively real now?

purplefig · 03/11/2019 12:56

@ELW85 thanks for the suggestion - funnily enough I've literally just this second amazon primed one to get here tomorrow 😅. Glad breaky out was lovely. Enjoy house sorting!

@MrsEG I've got weird middle bump pains the last week or so when I've been walking (waddling!) too quickly. Think it's normal? So glad pups faring better. I'm with you on the S M L front - 32F today....who knows what tomorrow!!! Just me give all the hooks and suitable adjustable straps 🤣. I'm going to see if support belt helps and if not book in with physio - we've got on who specialises in pregnancy so will give them a whirl.

MrsEG · 03/11/2019 13:14

@ELW85 Yeah that makes sense - I almost wonder if it could be ab separation?! I’ll mention it to the midwife this week. Running a bath now to south my belly a bit! Good luck this week - my scan is Weds too!!

@purplefig I so agree - my boobs change so much! I have a support belt and it really helps when I have it on but it doesn’t solve anything, if that makes sense? It also makes going for a wee a sodding nightmare haha! If you have a pregnancy specialist physio nearby I’d say go for even one session and get some moves/stretches you can do to help your back out. As you say, you’re only going to get bigger now!

OP posts:
cupcakesandglitter · 03/11/2019 15:54

@MrsEG definitely productive, my legs and back are killing! A nice long shower and an early night for me I think! Glad your dog is doing okay - did you manage to find curtains? X

@purplefig nothing has ever really worked with me and back pain other than a good night's sleep really 😩 hopefully one of the other ladies can give some better advice! X

Glad you're feeling better @thumper59 your nap sounds ideal 😂 did you manage to get out today? X

@ELW85 thought so, I remembered you're like two weeks ahead of me! We would've been the same if I hadn't ovulated late 😂 I can imagine, I'm nervous for mine and I've still got a couple of weeks to go!! I'm sure everything will be okay, and you'll get to see bubba again 🥰 x

MrsR16 · 03/11/2019 16:42

@cupcakesandglitter I know... when I saw it in person, I almost cried! 😂

@MrsEG the chewable ones have saved me! And work really quickly too which is great.

@purplefig I find bouncing on my gym ball helps with back pain! I hope you find relief soon...

@thumper59 I keep reading different things about hospital bags - take one for you, a separate one for baby and a third for DH! I'll see how much I can squeeze in one bag haha 😂 and thank you! I think it's adorable too. I'm glad you're feeling better!

@ELW85 it's becoming more real for sure! We bought the carpet for the nursery today too, so we can really start to crack on with getting stuff sorted once that's been laid (hopefully Wednesday!). I'm excited to get my rocking chair up and get all the clothes washed and sorted 😍

Larrydavid · 03/11/2019 18:29

Evening ladies, hope you're all well and had a great weekend! I visited some friends and their baby - me and my partner asked way too many questions about parenthood/babies that I'm sure they twigged that we're expecting but we're polite enough not to ask!

I've been so nervous about my early scan but I had it on Friday and all is well and there's a strong little heartbeat. I'm measuring a couple of days behind where I thought I was which probably fits my cycle length. Feeling very relieved and lucky. Have my first midwife appointment tomorrow too.

I've been taking it easier this week with work on the advice I got from here - I feel much better for it. I feel pretty sick all the time at the moment but that's so much easier to deal with when I'm on the sofa and not running around.

I'll go through the thread this evening and catch up! X

Fivebyfive2 · 03/11/2019 20:48

@purplefig, can't offer much advice I'm afraid! My back has started to ache more regularly since hitting the 3rd trimester ☹️ I may try a hot water bottle now you mentioned it, gotta be worth a go?! Generally I find I'm OK in the day (as long as I've slept OK) but it aches in the evenings. If you find a miracle cure, let me know!!

@Larrydavid, so glad to hear your early scan went well! Xx

We've started looking at what to pack for the hospital. As we're quite near, I'm thinking just the basics and dh/family can always fetch stuff if we're in for longer or realise we need something from home.

LokiCat · 04/11/2019 07:21

Morning all! :)

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

@BostonFern thanks for the reassurance. Hopefully the GTT test will go okay. There was so many cute Christmas clothes in mamas and papas yesterday! I really had to restrain myself with buying any clothes 😂

@ELW85 I hope you had a nice breakfast with DH yesterday :) I know, time is flying! You were all definitely right in saying that once you get past the first trimester the weeks go by really quickly!

@MrsR16 oh that outfit is soo cute! I'd love something that cosy and warm for myself 😂

@cupcakesandglitter ah how exciting, I can't wait to feel bubba kick! We didn't end up going to Nando's, unfortunately. Spent the whole day at the ILs (which was nice anyway, so didn't miss out too much).
Ooh what rocking chair have you ordered? I was just saying to DH last night that I'd love to get one. There were some really lovely ones in M&P but they were a bit small. What paint colour did you go for the nursery?

@MrsEG glad your dog was able to have a better night over the weekend. The fireworks are crazy, our cats weren't able to settle down at all. Ooh how exciting your nursery is almost done! Can't wait to see what it looks like :)
I feel sharp pains in the middle if I make a sudden movement or get up too quickly after bending down. Think I just need to take it a bit more easy really..

@purplefig thanks for the recommendation! That's exactly the sort of thing I was looking for; one that would stretch as the boobs grew. Didn't want to keep spending money on more bras! Bought a set of them and some maternity nursing T-shirt bras.
Sorry to hear about your back ache. Roast dinner with extra gravy sounds amazing!!

@thumper59 happy due date day! It must be frustrating to just wait and not be able to do anything. I hope he makes an appearance today!

@Larrydavid so happy your early scan went well and you saw a strong heartbeat! I hope your midwife appointment goes well today.

@Fivebyfive2 it must start to feel so much closer now that you're thinking about starting to pack for your hospital bag! When is your due date again?

So baby shopping was a huge success yesterday! Mamas and Papas were happy to do a price match, so we got the Ocarro pushchair set + Maxi Cosi car seat for £550; £600 saving (even they were shocked at the price 😂)!!
The sales assistant was absolutely lovely, so we're planning on booking a personal shopping service later in the year to look at the furniture set that my mum and dad have kindly offered to buy for us. Think it'll be between the Franklin or Oxford set; they were all so beautiful though.. Also looked at the different next to me cots. I liked the Snuzpod but DH liked the Maxi Cosi one, so going to do more research about that!

This weekend went so fast 😴😴 I hope you all have a lovely Monday x

MrsEG · 04/11/2019 07:47

@cupcakesandglitter They didn’t have the curtains in the store so we ordered them! Got some thermo blackout curtains. Have also finally ordered a Dumbo poster that DH actually likes for the walls (all the others I was picking were ‘waaaay too soppy’)

@MrsR16 Not long left at work for you now!! I worked out this morning I only have just over 6 weeks left!! It’s exciting and frightening all at once! Enjoy all the nesting :)

@Larrydavid So pleased your scan went well! My first scan was dated a few days behind, but then at the 12-week scan it jumped forwards again! Think it’s definite guess work in those early days!

@Fivebyfive2 It’s so difficult to know what you’ll need isn’t it!! We’re very close to the hospital, my parents are even closer - I still feel like I’ll end up packing the entire house though 🙈

@LokiCat I’m sure it’s ligament or muscle pain - even though all I was really doing yesterday was housework and cooking I think I over did it a bit going up and down the stairs/bending down a lot, which my physio has told me not to do! It’s very, very hard not to use your own stairs though!! What a fantastic deal on your pram!

Morning all! Lay in bed feeling sorry for myself - I feel like the tin man first thing. Takes me a while to gear myself up for getting up! Such a busy week this week at work, and I also have my 24-week growth scan on weds, see the consultant, and book in with the gynae physio!! It’s all go!
Has anyone been watching Seven Kingdoms One World? Man I cannot cope with nature whilst pregnant it seems. That’s the second episode now I’ve sobbed through whilst yelling at animals for being bad parents (DH: ‘It’s the natural world, if the mother didn’t abandon him they’d both die’ Me: ‘SHE DOESN'T DESERVE THAT BABY’)

OP posts:
