@RanchoRelaxo 4 months! Where has that time gone!! I’m so pleased to hear you’re both doing well :) I’m just creeping in to that ‘my god I’m so uncomfortable’ phase now but trying so hard to enjoy it as everyone tells you you miss being pregnant afterwards!

@MrsR16 Aww! I’ve always been the dogs favourite (only because I’m the one who feeds him!! He’s not daft) but the clingy-ness is next level! How did your appointment go today?

@Fivebyfive2 Let us know how you get on at NCT! Yeah we didn’t get a single trick or treater either, been scoffing sweets for 24 hours - I feel so sick, but so worth it haha!

@purplefig So pleased your cat is better! It’s horrible when they’re poorly. Yeah my sister told me that about layers and car seats - I was like ‘Is that written on the label of the clothes?’ and she just started laughing! I need to get me a parenting book!! What an amazing charity shop find!

@PippaPug I’m on that group, got a few bits already too! It’s such a fab idea isn’t it? Enjoy the decorating this weekend! Maybe find a good Netflix series to get you through the evenings next week?

@Anny27 Oh hun I am so so sorry to read your update. I think I am living proof that you can go through hell and still get a happy ending; if you ever want to message me about anything at all please feel free. I hope you are being very well looked after; take care of yourself. Don’t feel at all like you need to see people either - I just lay on the sofa in the dark for about 3 days with the dog and DH before I had my mum or sister over and I needed it. It will happen lovely, it really will xx

@TrashKitten10 cross post! Oh she is beautiful, well done you! You are not a failure at all - whatever needs to happen during birth to ensure you and baby are happy and healthy! If it makes you feel any better my sister couldn’t get her daughter to latch for 3 days and used formula too, but she got there on the boob in the end :) In the same vein, formula is also just perfect - a fed baby is a happy baby! Congratulations xxx

@MrsEG - I wonder if we have gone up against each other for something without even realising it!
I have this massive wrap sling and I have no idea how to use it, I need a couple of plastic dolls to practice with!
Netflix is a good idea, I just really miss the conversation and the phone calls aren’t the same!

Congratulations on the birth of Daisy, she is perfect ❤️
It’s very very early days so look after yourself but if you want to BF there is still a chance, however if you (and Daisy!) are happy on formula then that’s the best thing, a fed baby is a fed baby and a happy baby means a happy Mummy!

@MrsEG thankfully everything's absolutely fine - baby is measuring at 4lb 15oz at the moment, so back in normal range!

For anyone looking at books for when baby arrives, I'm finding First Time Parent quite good. Very practical and straightforward, but with a friendly tone. Of course we'll see how useful it is when little Homer arrives and is screaming the house down 😂

Enjoying a lie in with some candles on and catching up with The Met. Then it’s on to town for some shopping and maybe pick up some Christmas wrapping paper - I can’t help myself!

@MrsEG - thank you, I’m feeling loads better and baby has been kicking away this morning. Your weekend sounds very productive! I need a bit of motivation to crack on and get the house in order, I think!

@purplefig - your dog walks and meditations sound great, it’s so important to find things that work for you.
I play my guitar and sing, so songwriting also helps when I’m feeling a bit low. It’s been such a long time since I’ve really felt it to that stage, though which is good!
So pleased that the kitty is doing well!
Your Christmas finds sound wonderful - I’m trying to be a lot more frugal this year. Our savings took a huge hit paying for the wedding and bathrooms this year so we need to replenish them!

@TrashKitten10 - Daisy is absolutely gorgeous, congratulations!

@PippaPug - it is hard when DH is away. We FaceTime when we can, but I know it’s not the same.

@MrsR16 - so pleased yesterday went well, and I hope you’re feeling a bit better.

@ELW85 oooo guitar and singing sounds awesome - I imagine you can get into a good state of flow doing that. Also I think something hands on is really useful (hence I like cooking....can't be having an existential crisis while you're whipping up a soufflé 🤣). Grim day here so far - lashings of rain and thick grey sky. I've just had some excellent banana porridge and later I'm off to m&s to get a new bra. Somehow my recently acquired 32E is now comically small....

@PippaPug Ha! We’ve got a Weego carrier that I got second hand, but my friend is a sling librarian so she has told me to come along to one of her workshops to see how they sling twins for another option! Maybe see if there are any sling libraries near you?

@MrsR16 Oh that’s great news! Wow 4lb 15 of baby in there already - how exciting!!

@Fivebyfive2 What film were you hoping to see? I’ll look up that book! To be honest so many friends tell me you just figure it all out as you go, as all babies are so different - but I still feel like I need something to start me off!

@ELW85 Great news! Mine have been so up and down this week - two days of them being super quiet, but then yesterday they were all over the place - I physically saw one move across my belly not just a poke, he travelled!!

@purplefig Even just like, a bulleted leaflet like ‘you can do this’ and ‘don’t do this!’ - I’m amazed it doesn’t exist! Perhaps some of the obvious stuff comes up in NCT? My twin book does have ‘the first year’ so maybe I need to get reading that part now! Enjoy the bra shopping - I’m exclusively in crop tops now as it was just getting ridiculous! It’s the idea they’ll only get bigger again once the babies are here too that I still can’t get my head around!

Happy Saturday folks! We had an awful night with the dog last night he was in a terrible state and nothing was working. Taking him to the vets today and hoping for the best. It is so, so horrible watching him so scared and shaking :( Staying in with him all day and decorating with all TVs and radios on to try and keep him nice and calm before the inevitable fireworks all night long!!

@ELW85 oh wow, 20 weeks today! Halfway there 😊 now for the longest half (well, I think it is anyway!) I'm glad you're doing better and baby's kicking away in there.

@purplefig I'm wearing a 32f at the moment... now struggling with comfort! Let us know how you get on 😊

@MrsEG no wonder I'm so uncomfortable! 😂 although I still have 6 and a half weeks of growing left... I'm desperately hoping it's not going to be a 10lber! 😂 I'm sorry your dog really struggled last night - fireworks are horrible aren't they? I'm all up for silent ones! They look just as pretty and don't cause half the problems xx

@MrsR16 I'll keep my fingers crossed baby stays a good manageable weight! Will they keep an eye on the weight for you now? Oh don't get me started - I think they should be silent and I also think they should be regulated so they can only be purchased for organised displays. The fact you can walk in to a Tesco and basically buy dynamite is crazy to me, in the wrong hands they're so dangerous. And it just means I have 2 weeks of an anxious dog rather than one weekend!

@MrsEG oh your poor baby (I'm of course talking about the pooch ❤️). FWIW you're preaching to the converted 🙌🏻 given the absolute terror they cause so many animals - not to mention the inherent danger of them - it's totally insane they aren't regulated. Anyway...I'll get off my soapbox...Happy decorating day!! Do we get an update later?! I need new crop tops too - I'm definitely not a size small anymore 🍒🤣

@MrsR16 thanks - I think I'm going to try a band size up, felt like the 32 was cutting into my actual ribs yesterday 🤣 Can't believe you only have 6.5 weeks left!!! How're you feeling?

@purplefig it might be worth getting measured! I did and they put me a band size up because they knew that my ribs would continue to expand until the bub arrives! 😂 I'm not doing too bad - bloody exhausted and uncomfortable if baby gets in an awkward position! However, I'm still grateful that everything's as it should be, so I can't complain too much! 15 working days left too which'll be wonderful 😊

Sorry I've been so AWOL. We were quite short staffed at work this week, so it's been really hectic and I've been crashing by the time I get home. Hope you're all well?

@PippaPug amazing that your babies are moving so much, it must be a lovely experience to get to feel that! You're definitely convincing me to book myself in for a massage. Sounds like it was amazing!
I've been saving some safari/animal themed nursery ideas on Pinterest but I know DH loves white and grey so I imagine it'll be something neutral between the two! We've got a guest bed in there that DH wants to keep (not that we ever have anyone stay over) so going to have to figure out the positioning of everything soon!
I love that you're thinking of penguins on the wall! I'm planning on incorporating some in, I love them 😍
If DH passes his assessment, he'll be away during the week for most of January (only home on weekends) and I'm really dreading the thought! I imagine it'll be lots of visits to my family/friends so I don't constantly feel alone.

@MrsR16 sorry to hear you had a sudden unplanned hospital visit, but glad all is well (although not so good about possible UTI). How amazing that baby is already head down! I hope all went okay at the growth scan? Can't believe you have 6 and a half weeks left! Time is flying!

@Fivebyfive2 ah I remember you mentioned First Time Parent previously. I think I'm going to get it because the reviews looked pretty good and it'll be nice to have some steer on what to do because I feel completely clueless!

@purplefig sorry to hear your cat was poorly, but glad that is getting better now! The weather is absolutely horrid here as well. I'd love nothing more than a duvet day when the weather is like this but so much to do today!
I need to sort out some new bras as well, mine are getting ridiculously small - I can't believe how much our boobs grow!!

So I've seen that Baby Planet is doing a Black Friday event for the whole of November and have got an amazing deal for a Mamas and Papas Ocarro bundle. We're hoping to go into M&P tomorrow to see if they can do a price match and then hopefully place an order for one!! I'm so excited. I recommend checking out the Baby Planet website - there are some good deals on!

Going to my ILs for lunch and telling BILs and SILs about baby today; ordered some cupcakes to tell them (attached a photo). They look so good it took everything in me not to eat them when I picked them up this morning! 😂

I also got a breakdown of my blood results from my screening test. Everything was low/normal apart from my HCG levels which were higher than average. I spoke to the screening team who said that's probably why my DS numbers were slightly lower. Higher HCG levels probably explains all the sickness I've been feeling as well (which still hasn't gone away completely!!!). I've got my 16 week appointment on Thursday so will ask midwife if higher HCG is anything to be concerned about.

@LokiCat yep, everything was brilliant at the scan! Baby measuring 4lb 15oz 😊 so back within normal range! For some reason, I just have a bigger bump than I should do! Your day sounds wonderful! Enjoy telling everyone 😊 xx

@purplefig woo love finding a good bargain! I'm still full of cold it's really doing my head in now. I've been on my ball and I'm trying to do some walks! A few of my friends swear by eating dates too! They're great in a banana smoothie if you can't bring yourself to DTD (omg I haven't typed that since TTC!!). Really, really hope your cold buggers off soon - you seem to have had it for ages. Mac n cheese sounds incredible, wise fuelling up before the big food shop too. I'm a loose canon in Sainsbury's when hungry.

Back from m&s and went ahead and bought a two pack of what surely must be a contender for the world's ugliest bra. But damnit, so comfortable! And it's a nursing bra with four hooks etc. so hoping it lasts a bit longer.

@purplefig The vet was really sympathetic and gave us some tablets - he’s had them and is now in his crate. It’s acknowledging I can’t really do anything more that I hate! You just wanna go and lie in there with them haha! Enjoy the new bras!

@LokiCat Those cupcakes look lovely! I’ve never heard of baby planet so I’ll take a look. I can’t help on the HCG either - mine used to always be ferociously high but for obvious reasons! Thank you - the PGP is awful :(

@Fivebyfive2 oh I’ve heard of Dr Sleep, looks good! I keep seeing a trailer for a film called Knives Out but I don’t think it’s out yet - looks good though! I have to really save myself for films I really wanna see as those seats are bloody agony haha! Ice cream helps :)

@thumper59 Your poor little dog, it’s so horrid isn’t it? I love Mac and cheese, my absolute fave! Have you had any braxton hicks or anything? LOL at the sex thing - I remember suggesting it to my sister when she was at term and she laughed in my face!! She was like ‘I can barely roll myself in to the bed in the first place!’ - as @purplefig says I also know people who swore by eating dates but at the end of the day it’s all kinda ‘old wives tales’ in some ways - that baby will come when he is good and ready! Ladies what are people doing for reflux/heartburn? I foolishly had a starter and main at lunch today and I’m still paying for it. I can’t abide Gaviscon but have had loads of water and some Rennies but it’s doing bugger all!

@MrsEG I use the chewable Gaviscon tablets - they work pretty well and are mint flavoured if it helps!

@MrsEG yep my cat is hating the fireworks too :( poor thing! I really am not a fan or fireworks that arent at an organised display. Private ones seem so crap, who wants to see one firework go off every 5 minutes when you can go to a display and see 40 at once 😂
