@cupcakesandglitter We’re going grey and white as we’re having a very loose dumbo theme! Need to order the Disney artwork this weekend!

@ELW85 one thing with ligament pain, I got it so bad as I was growing so fast at first and my midwife said drinking lots of water would help, and it really does!! I always notice the pain more when I haven’t been drinking loads.

@MrsR16 Haha I love that, a good, solid baby! I have images of your midwife measuring you like ‘Yep, that’s a baby alright!’ Hope you’re feeling better :)

My sister has taken my niece to a baby Halloween party today - oh my god the pics and videos 😍😭 I can not wait to do it next year!!

@MrsR16 sorry to hear about the hospital visit and possible UTI (never fun). Great news baby is head down and in pelvis ready to rock and roll though!

@MrsEG FWIW my midwife said 28 days is when to expect a pattern by. Ooo lying on your back in a pool, utter bliss.

@cupcakesandglitter scan super soon now!

@ELW85 I mainly mentioned it as I've been doing really well with a lack of anxiety for a fair while now, but several things have triggered it this week and I remember just how ruddy awful it is. I'm trying to remind myself of all the useful things I can do to lessen it, as I am slightly concerned I'll be a neurotic mess once the baby actually arrives Grin (I was bad enough with my puppy....)

The roofers have been and sorted out the leak (thank god), but we're now booked into the vets with my cat for the second time this week. Fingers crossed everything is OK with him. Not sure we'll make poetry night now. Have a great Halloween all! x

PippaPug · 31/10/2019 20:19

Happy Halloween everyone! 🎃

Sorry I have been quiet, I seem to not post for days and days and then suddenly appear again! Have you all had many trick or treaters?

Babies are dancing away every day now which is lovely to feel, I managed to grab myself another bargain of a half price pregnancy massage again today which was lovely and after my stomach had been gently massages they were wriggling around for ages! My friend was supposed to come with me but she was unwell and doesn’t live in the area (was coming down for the day) so she has transferred her half price massage to a pregnancy one for next week for me and she has paid for it as a treat for me and the babies ☺️

We finally put a announcement on fb - we have friends living around Europe and decided it was the easiest way to do it ☺️

DH is away all next week with work and I’m a bit nervous and anxious about it, doesn’t anyone else feel the same way? I’m fine for a night or two but the whole week and the end of the month he is away even longer.

What’s everyone’s plans for the nursery, colours/themes? I wonder how many of us have different ideas!

Hope everyone is having a lovely week!

cupcakesandglitter · 31/10/2019 20:58

@ELW85 just the usual, headache, tired, sniffly nose 😂😩

Ahhh how cute @MrsEG you have to share pics when you're done!! I love Dumbo 😭

@purplefig I was too anxious so put my phone away before, but update is below 😊

Ahhh @PippaPug that's fantastic! Nice that you get one next week too ☺️ I bet it's lovely to have announced on fb too, I'm hoping we get a nice pic together to put up to break the news!

Soooo.... had the scan and was so scared I couldn't even speak. Everything is fine 😂 little madam has grown a lot, and was having a little wriggle with her hands and feet (when she had enough she just rolled over so we were staring at her back). Her bits are still saying she's a girl (thought it'd be wise to double check) and we got to see her smiling (scan pic attached below), swallowing and touching her face. 3D pic is a bit blurry because she was moving but I'm absolutely in love. I've had a little kick from her too since!! I can't fault the ladies at the scan place, they were so lovely and listened to my concerns properly which was amazing. I can relax a little now! (I hope) DH then took me to Nando's and I may or may not have bought her some cute pyjamas from ASDA

Also @PippaPug I get really anxious with DH being away, I tend to go over and spend time at my mums just because I don't like being alone (just in case). I'm going for a neutral(ish) theme with a fairly dusky pink wall, and maybe polka dots on the rest so it's bright for her. So excited to get started!! What're you going for? X

Tropicana1 · 31/10/2019 21:49

@MrsEG most of the owners I've given it to to use with their dogs say it works really well 😊 a few find it hard to apply as it has to be rubbed on the gums not swallowed but the general feedback is really positive. @purplefig Is it pet remedy maybe? We use the spray in kennels for inpatients pre op and a lot of them (easier to notice in cats) do seem to relax a bit with it!

@BabySquid sounds like you're having an amazing time!!

@Fivebyfive2 Same the kicks have gone from feeling nice to really uncomfortable under the rib or cervix jabs!!

@MrsR16 Good luck with the growth scan tomorrow! Hope all goes well! Remind me how many weeks you are now?

@cupcakesandglitter Glad the scan went well and you got some pictures of your little girl 😍

MrsR16 · 31/10/2019 23:00

@ELW85 it's been a glorious afternoon/evening! 😊 the pooch is all cuddled up in my blanket (the one that he was never supposed to be allowed to lie on), the husband is home, baby is kicking away!

@MrsEG I'm getting there! Just hoping that there's a good reason for baby measuring so big at the moment.

@purplefig it is good news! We'll see what the scan reveals tomorrow!

@PippaPug I hate being on my own without DH - I've done one night since becoming pregnant and that was bad enough for me! Great to see you're getting lots of movement now 😊 we're going Dumbo theme in our nursery (great minds, @MrsEG haha!)

@cupcakesandglitter beautiful scan pictures! Her 3D one is so cute!!!

@Tropicana1 thank you lovely! I'm 33+1 today. Midwife was saying that measurements make me 34 weeks though! Haha! I could be having an early bub!

MrsEG · 01/11/2019 06:47

@purplefig I am sure it’s 28 too, I might scan my notes though as I have a vague memory of her saying 26 for twins. But then was that at 26 I should definitely feel them moving... honestly I see so many people so often I get myself so confused! I see the consultant on weds think it’s time for me to start compiling my latest list!
Oh I hope your cat is okay? Was all alright at the vets?

@ELW85 @purplefig I also used to be terrible with anxiety and it flared up again after my MCs so had more counselling, which helped. As @purplefig says I am trying so, so hard to keep it at bay while pregnant but it creeps in sometimes - I find just talking it out with DH is good. He has a very good way of talking me down without being patronising!

@PippaPug Pregnancy massage sounds amazing! I would hate it if DH was going away now, even for a day. Is there anyone local to you family wise that can keep you company? Enjoy looking at nursery ideas! We’re going grey and white with Dumbo - great minds indeed @MrsR16 haha!

@cupcakesandglitter Ahh lovely scan pictures - I hope it has made you feel better?

@Tropicana1 thanks for the advice! We had a night of no fireworks last night (hurray!) so I had the dog up for a big snuggle on the sofa after his traumatic week! I know this weekend will be hell but fingers crossed I’ve got enough to get us through it now!

@MrsR16 Ha, I had a very similar night with my dog!! You can’t beat cuddles with the dog though :) Have you noticed yours getting quite clingy? Mine followed me up to the bath the other night and just sat outside the bathroom the whole time I was in there! Hope all goes well at your appointment today :)

Happy Friday! I’ve got quite a busy work day today, some shit hit the fan a bit yesterday afternoon so I was making to do lists on my phone in bed last night as so much was just whirling through my mind! Hoping to just get lots nailed today! Very little planned for the weekend - visiting a friend tomorrow who has two young boys as she has some sling carriers to give us, other than that it’ll be decorating central! Have a good one all. X

RanchoRelaxo · 01/11/2019 07:37

Hi everyone! Just popping on to say hello, had a nose through the most recent posts and I'm loving all the bump pics, I miss mine so much!
Freya is 4 months old now, the time has flown and I've gotta say it was tough at the start but now we are both doing really well and I'm loving each day with her :) she has started laughing a little, she rolls onto her side and shouts out if she isn't getting enough attention 😂
Enjoy it ladies, I know I got fed up of people saying that to me and I know how heavy and uncomfortable you can feel, but it goes so quick, I wish I could just lie on the sofa again with my huge bump and feel her kicking away! Hope you all have a great weekend :)

MrsR16 · 01/11/2019 07:43

@MrsEG mine was super clingy to start with (even before I knew I was pregnant) but now he will still choose my husband over me! 😂 although I'm definitely not allowed to go for a wee by myself... thank you, lovely, I'll keep you all updated with what they say! Xx

MrsR16 · 01/11/2019 07:45

Ooh @RanchoRelaxo I've just spotted your message!! 4 months, wow! I'm glad everything's going well for you, lovely and it's so wonderful to hear from you xx

Fivebyfive2 · 01/11/2019 07:47

Hi all! Slept loads better last night so feeling good today and it's Friday!! What's everyone's weekend shaping up like?? We're going to see the fireworks by the castle in our town tomorrow, after NCT so busy day! Cinema tonight, seeing dh's nan Sunday.

@Tropicana1, little Homer is really low down and upside down so when he moves it usually makes me feel like having a wee!! Hopefully he'll get into position soon...

@PippaPug, our nursery is a kind of 'sky' theme! It was blue anyway and we didn't want to/couldn't be bothered to re paint, even if he'd been a she 😂 So we've got hot air balloon/cloud/planes kind of decorations going on. Stickers of animals is balloons and planes etc. I'll put some pics up when it's more comple 🙂

@MrsEG, good luck at work today!! Hope it's not too stressful xxx

@cupcakesandglitter, aaaaaahhhh look at her! Beautiful scan pic!! Glad you are feeling more reassured xxx

Ooohh and we got loads of sweets in because we run out every year for the kids trick or treating.... And hardly anyone came!! Sadly this means dh and I have to eat them all 😂😋

Happy Friday all! 🙂🎉

Fivebyfive2 · 01/11/2019 07:49

@RanchoRelaxo, so great to hear you and Freya are doing well!! Xx

purplefig · 01/11/2019 09:13

@PippaPug oh you're reaaaaally making me want to get a massage!! I'm going to have to google local deals in my area I think 🤣. FWIW I'd hate DH going away for a week, I love my own space for a few days and then I miss him / sharing the chores 😳😅. Our nursery has an oatmeal colour carpet and white walls and we're decorating it with wooden furniture to warm it up (north facing room) and I'm also planning on getting some confetti style wall stickers and some animal prints. Oh and black out curtains!

@cupcakesandglitter so glad it all went well at the scan with your little wriggler ❤️ sounds like an excellent celebration Nando's and asda splurge 🙌🏻

@Tropicana1 ooo it could well be pet remedy, it's been ages since I've used anything on either of mine. Should've last night on my poor kitty - 2nd trip to the vets in one week, he was not impressed poor baby.

@MrsEG definitely time to crack out the old pen and paper / iPhone notes list! I swear there's too much to learn / remember in pregnancy. Yesterday I learnt you're not supposed to put babies in outerwear in their car seats...I am totally clueless! Cats ok thanks, suspected infection but he was so miserable and in a lot of pain. He's had pain relief and antibiotics and feeling much brighter thankfully ❤️. I hope your mad day at work goes well, thank god it's Friday! How exciting to start decorating this weekend too 🎨

@ELW85 @MrsEG I think that's it - knowing what works for you to lessen anxiety and then remembering it. I also find talking to DH really helpful, but also guided meditations and even just doing basic activities that ground you in the here and now. For me cooking or walking the dog quite often help.

@RanchoRelaxo lovely to hear from you and I'm so glad you're enjoying love with Freya. Such a gorgeous name!

All good here. It's been a trying week though so I'm very glad to see the weekend on the horizon! Thankfully the cat is doing much better and our roof is no longer leaking. This weekend we're having a chilled house based day tomorrow (more rain!), might pop into town for a coffee or something and then we're meeting friends for a drink in the evening. Then Sunday my parents are coming over for a dog walk and a roast dinner. Sounds like bliss after a stressful week x

thumper59 · 01/11/2019 09:20

Good morning everyone! I'll have a catch up
Soon again. The cold has absolutely floored me, but I'm just stuffy and got a cough now so hoping it's the tail end of it. Baby has missed his chance of being an October baby but it's nice to say I'll defo have a baby this month! Due on Monday, and my birthday on Thursday so let's see if I am a mumma for my bday! Or if he decides to share it 🙄

cupcakesandglitter · 01/11/2019 09:23

Thankyou @Tropicana1 @MrsR16 @MrsEG @Fivebyfive2 @purplefig definitely feeling better - I'm going to contact that charity at the weekend so that I can try and have some control over how I feel x

Ahhh @purplefig that sounds lovely!! I love animal prints in nurseries 🥰

@Fivebyfive2 ooh fireworks sound great!! Glad you had a good nights sleep too, it makes all the difference! X

Ahhh @RanchoRelaxo how fantastic, glad to hear you and Freya are doing well x

@MrsEG good luck with the decorating!! Hope you get loads done x

cupcakesandglitter · 01/11/2019 09:24

Ahh @thumper59 either would be lovely, I'm sure you've not got long left to go now 😊 x

ELW85 · 01/11/2019 09:33

Morning all!

Not only is it Friday, I didn’t wake up in stupid amounts of pain, so today is a winner already!

@purplefig @MrsEG - I totally hear you ladies on the anxiety front, and thanks for sharing. Very similar to @MrsEG, my DH has got some sort of magic key to my psyche which usually sorts me out, but it’s important to talk about and support each other 😊

@purplefig - are you and the cat ok? I hope you made it to the poetry evening.

@cupcakesandglitter - so pleased that the scan went well. I hope you’re feeling a bit better now? My next one is Wednesday and I’m looking forward to seeing the little one again!

@PippaPug - we’ve gone for a ‘sky’ theme with two sorts of blues and teddy bears in the stars decals. It’s not done yet, but it’ll get there, I’m sure!

@MrsR16 - your afternoon sounds wonderful! I hope you’re feeling a bit better?

I hope everyone had a nice Halloween? There were some adorable toddlers that came to our door, so if I wasn’t already stupidly excited to have our little boy, it’s only gotten a million times worse now 😂

Anny27 · 01/11/2019 11:02

Morning all - thank you so much for all your well wishes and good lucks. Unfortunatley the scan showed no progression so i will be miscarrying :(

Would love to hear from those who have had a miscarriage and now have a healthy pregnancy (perhaps PM as i dont want to have negative things in this chat)

Good luck to you all and hopefully i'm back here in the near future xxx

ELW85 · 01/11/2019 11:38

@Anny27 - I am so, so sorry to hear that.
I know nothing I can say will make it better, but you’re in my thoughts and I can’t wait to see you back here soon. Xx

purplefig · 01/11/2019 12:54

@Anny27 I'm so sorry to hear that. The biggest of hugs lovely. I know lots of ladies on this thread have experienced miscarriages before, so you're really not alone and there's every chance it'll happen for you next time ❤️. I know that doesn't help right now though. I'll be thinking of you today. Please be extra kind and gentle with yourself at the moment. Xxx

@ELW85 glad you're having a better day already! Those toddlers sound too much!! Luckily the cat is doing much better thanks, but our vet trip did mean we missed poetry night. There's always next time and it's worth it for him not to be in pain.

@thumper59 really hope your cold clears up soon - how exciting it's happening this month! Have you tried any of the ideas / old wives tails to get labour going? 🍛🍍🍆 💦😳 (sorry, I'm very immature).

I'm having the best lunch time - having a mooch about charity shops as we've all imposed a £10 limit for Christmas (as we're renting a house for it which is working out quite expensive)! Anyway, I found a brand new cashmere cardigan my mum is going to love...for £3.50 🙌🏻 xx

MrsR16 · 01/11/2019 13:16

@Fivebyfive2 I hear ya on the uncomfortableness of baby being upside down! 😂 enjoy the leftovers 😊

@purplefig oh sounds like a wonderful weekend! Just what you need I reckon!

@thumper59 sorry to hear you're still waiting for him to make an appearance! But I'm glad you think you're finally getting over this cold thing 😊

@ELW85 woohoo for no pain! Yeah, I'm not doing too bad today, just tired more than anything! And heartburn's a bitch today too... 😂 looking forward to seeing bub again later on.

@Anny27 I'm so sorry to read your news my lovely. You take absolute care of yourself and all the time in the world to heal xx

PippaPug · 01/11/2019 14:33

@cupcakesandglitter - The scan photos are beautiful! Im glad you had such a wonderful experience watching her!
How many weeks are you now? Your idea for a themed nursery sounds wonderful, love the dusky pink wall!

@MrsR16 and @MrsEGaww that theme sounds lovely as well, and popular with the latest film - I bet you can find lots of things dumbo themed - Asda George has quite a few baby items which were white with dumbo over it which was super cute! Your have to both show us photos!

@MrsEG - do you use fb? There is a twin fb group and people put things they don’t want/need anymore but they used for their twins, but you just pay postage which is fab! I have got a newborn sling for both of them and just paid the postage which was £3!

@Fivebyfive2 - your nursery sounds wonderful as well, everyone has such great ideas! Sounds like @ELW85 with the sky theme - I love that idea!

@purplefig - love animal prints on the nursery, I can’t wait to see everyone’s ideas!

@thumper59 - I hope baby makes a appearance sooner rather then later for your sake, hopefully your be a Mummy before your birthday!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who hates when DH goes away, he will be leaving around 5am on Monday and back at home midnight on Friday - and he will be shattered on Saturday...but never mind I can’t do much about it I just hate it at the same time! I have friends and family near by but all will be busy.
Our nursery theme is grey/white - with penguins/stars on the walls - I can’t wait to start getting the room ready this weekend by stripping the wallpaper and emptying the wardrobe!

RanchoRelaxo · 01/11/2019 17:26

@Anny27 hi, sorry to hear about your loss, I had a miscarriage last October and found out I was pregnant again in November, I didn't have a proper period between, the baby is healthy and I had a relatively straightforward pregnancy with a few (probably unrelated) blips..
It's awful to go through, be kind to yourself and I hope it all works out soon x

TrashKitten10 · 01/11/2019 18:55

Hi all, not much time to catch up on everybody's updates but hope you are all well. Just to announce that baby Daisy arrived Tuesday and is our absolute world. The induction failed so I ended up with a section which after over 48 hours of getting nowhere was a huge relief! Feeding got off to a really slow start and I was really struggling on the postnatal ward so we've ended up putting her on formula which is working really well and I'm starting to feel like a proper mum and not just a failure at birth and feeding! All in all it's going really well and I'm just over the moon to have her in my life :)
