Good morning all (it's morning over here!) just thought I'd check in and see how everyone's doing. We're loving the Aussie life so far and still have another 5 days left. My little belly is getting so big I'm sure there's something in the water over here that makes big babies haha! The sun has been beautiful so far but had a rainy windy day yesterday and today is meant to be the same, although it's bright sunshine atm and only 10 past 8am and 15 degrees. (We had 36 the other day and that was crazy!)
Hope everyone's well?

MrsEG · 31/10/2019 06:53

@MrsR16 He loved his walk! We also tried something called ‘spot on’ for the fireworks last night and it seemed to help :) Hope all goes well with the midwife today!

@Tropicana1 OMG stephs crying!! I sometimes felt a bit sorry for her but for the most part I was like ‘get it together woman!’ She just fell apart! Oh that’s good - I think If he is still really bad this weekend with the bonfire night displays I’ll go to the vets to make sure we have something stronger for next week and New Years. There has honestly been fireworks going off every night now since last Friday!

@Fivebyfive2 I’ll have to look in to a diffuser! WHAT a palaver with your injections! Glad you got sorted in the end!

@cupcakesandglitter Enjoy your scan today! Yep was 3 for 2 on paints here too, were all stocked up now!!

@stormtrooperjulian So pleased to hear you are recovering well! He sounds like a dream baby haha! I’m sure they’ll have you signed off for some exercise soon :)

@BostonFern Glad to hear baby is doing well! Good luck with the GTT test today!

@BabySquid Glad you’re having such a fab time! How was the flight? 36 degrees - I had to bloody deice my car yesterday haha! Enjoy it!

Happy Halloween ladies! We have a big fundraising day at work today so I’ll be carving pumpkins and stuffing my face, no doubt. Then aquanatal tonight as my physio said I can still go - hurray!

@cupcakesandglitter I've just sent you a PM with the details ☺️

@BabySquid glad to hear Australia is amazing! Enjoy the rest of your break.

@MrsEG thanks, currently sat here feeling hungry 😂 got a few hours until I can eat yet though 😭
Enjoy your fundraising day at work, it sounds like fun!

BabySquid · 31/10/2019 07:49

@MrsEG the flight was pretty crappy tbh. I got upgraded on the longer 13 hour one so me an DH had a three seat aisle to ourselves but my feet and ankles were still ridiculously swollen and took about three days to fully go down.
How's Halloween going for everyone?
It's pretty big over here which I love but the weather isn't too great today so I'm not expecting many trick or treaters. (And it's unfortunately too cold to paint my belly) 😫

Fivebyfive2 · 31/10/2019 08:22

Happy Halloween all! We always run out of sweets for trick or treaters so I'll get some extra on my way home!

@MrsEG, the fund raising day sounds fab! Hope it goes well 🙂

@Bostonfern, omg you've not got long to wait! Yes me, you and @cupcakesandglitter are all Brummy gals 😀

Ladies I'm 30 weeks today and feeling pretty rubbish ☹️ Sore arms from the jabs, leg cramps in the night and I'm not sure what little Homer is doing in there but it's not comfy for me!! He was breech at the scan the other week so maybe he's trying to move around?! Hopefully a slow walk to work with stretch me out and I'll feel better?! Can't wait for the weekend, dh is surprisingly excited to start the NCT classes on Saturday 😀

Hope you all have a lovely spooky day!! Xx

BostonFern · 31/10/2019 08:31

@Fivebyfive2 not long for you either! Enjoy your NCT classes, we really enjoyed ours and have a nice little whatsapp group going already!

ELW85 · 31/10/2019 08:39

Morning all and happy Halloween!

Sorry I didn’t reply yesterday; had a bit of drama and ended up getting the baby’s HB checked but all good...until 2.40am this morning when I woke myself up turning over in bed and felt the sharpest stabbing pain off to the left ever. I’m 99% sure it’s round ligament pain but it was really intense and freaked me out. I’ve felt it before so I’m not overly worried but it was so intense; I guess ‘cos I’m getting bigger.

Anyway, I hope everyone else is having a much better time?!

@purplefig @MrsEG @cupcakesandglitter - I didn’t get my cakes but we had pizza so that’s still a baked good? 😀
I’ve not loved it this year but also pretty pleased with the outcome. Are we all watching junior GBBO?

@BostonFern - I sadly ended up missing Diwali, but there’s always next year. The office still looks great with decorations and I got a note to say The department really enjoyed it, so great result.
Good luck for the test today, but I’m sure you won’t need it!

@Fivebyfive2 - sorry to hear you’re not feeling great, but not long to go and it sounds like he’s just getting himself in position! Enjoy the NCT this weekend - we start ours in January so it’ll be great to hear what you think of them.

purplefig · 31/10/2019 09:03

@MrsEG Ooo thank you for the app suggestion, I'll download it and see what's on around here. Glad to hear the 'spot on' helped last night. @Tropicana1 mentioning anxiety made me also think of Rescue Remedy? I know there is one of them that you can give to pets. Could be worth looking into? Your day sounds like so much fun - I really want to try aquanatal but there's nothing on at my local pool. I bet the water feels amazing!

@stormtrooperjulian oh my goodness just look at him! What a cutie! How're you doing lovely? Great to hear your c-section recovery is going well - how long until you're likely to be cleared for exercise? If you need any new workout clothes I really can't recommend the workout leggings from cadenshae enough. They have a belly band that can be pulled up over tum or down around hips and the actual waistline of the legging material bit (if that makes sense?!) is cut super low to avoid aggravating c-section scars. I don't work there Grin - just got to try some out the other day and was really impressed.

@MrsH497 you're famous! Grin

@MrsR16 glad you were able to rest last night - it's lovely when the baby has a crazy moment isn't it? Well, I find it is at 25 weeks...maybe not so much at 35 weeks!

@Fivebyfive2 what a faff! So glad you got both jabs in the end, even if you did have to travel across town! Sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish with it all today though, hopefully a walk will help. Ooo exciting you get to start NCT this weekend...my DH is oddly enthusiastic about it too Grin

@cupcakesandglitter all the best with your scan today. Let us know how you get on. I'd say don't give up on yoga because of one class - they all vary so much as there's so many different styles and the teachers differ so much. Also prenatal yoga is (in my experience) waaaaay more chilled than normal yoga. At my NCT one I would say it was more like basic stretching than traditional 'yoga' - really helped with my aches and pains.

@BostonFern great news your scan went well and the baby is doing good. I can't remember if you've done the positive birth company digital pack, but there's some great info in there about positive inductions. Also some great positive induction birth stories here: thepositivebirthcompany.co.uk/blog/category/induction . Ooo glad your oven is gleaming - we got ours done when we moved in as the people who lived here before had never cleaned it by the looks of things, I was AMAZED at what an incredible job he did.

@BabySquid glad you're having a great time down under! It's a lovely time of the year in Perth atm where it's not just yet blazing summer (I'm a wimp with the sun) - enjoy lapping up all that vitamin d.

@ELW85 oh man, what a day for you. Big hugs, it takes it's toll physically and mentally this growing a baby lark. I hope today is a better day for you lovely.

I'm feeling much brighter today. My back has been really wearing me down, but last night I threw my pregnancy pillow out of bed in a rage and went back to my old set-up of classic pillow between the knees and I've woke up miraculously back pain free?!?! Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Happy Halloweeeeeeen! In between work today I've got some roofers coming over to inspect the leak in the kitchen, then I'm heading out with my mum for a coffee and a catch-up and this evening DH and I are going to a little Halloween themed poetry night in town which I'm really looking forward to. But the chairs are those notoriously uncomfortable fold out wooden ones...so I'm slightly dreading that aspect Grin. x

MrsH497 · 31/10/2019 09:39

@purplefig glad your back is feeling better fingers crossed it stays that way!!

@ELW85 oh you poor thing big hugs hope today is better

@cupcakesandglitter sending you love as well today hope the scan goes well

@MrsEG @Tropicana1 yes I'm so glad I'm not the only who got irritated with Steph crying! Was really pleased with the result.

@BabySquid Australia sounds amazing! Enjoy every minute

Happy Halloween lovely ladies! Hope you all have a wonderful day x

cupcakesandglitter · 31/10/2019 10:07

Ahh @BabySquid pleased to hear you're enjoying it 😊 do we get a bumpdate? 😃

Thankyou @MrsEG ❤️ we're doing the same, may as well get what we need for the nursery! 😂 ooh good news re the aquanatal, hope it's nice and relaxing!

Thankyou @BostonFern will check it out after my scan 🥰

@Fivebyfive2 MIL has already picked up some villa bits for Smidge 😂 oh no, sorry you're feeling pants.. could you try some yoga and see if that relaxes you and Homer a little, or at least eases some of the pain?

Erm yes @ELW85 pizza definitely counts! Now I want some glad to hear everything was okay with baby, I think round ligament pain can be super painful and end up screaming after I've sneezed most mornings 😩

I will do @purplefig 😊 it's at five so feels like I'm waiting forever for it! Ahh that's so good to hear!! There's loads in my area so I will definitely look into them, I've not been able to exercise at all pretty much since I conceived and so I'm super stiff and need a good stretch! 😂 glad to hear the normal pillows worked at least!! Sounds like a lovely evening though - maybe take a chunky scarf or something that you could put behind your back?

Thankyou lovely @MrsH497 I will do 🥰 happy Halloween!

ELW85 · 31/10/2019 10:07

@purplefig - thank you so much. I realise I probably just need to pull myself together a bit, but it can be such a worrying time!
Your poetry session sounds awesome! Is it going to be lots of Poe? 😊
I’m so happy you’ve gotten a back ache solution, disrupted sleep is awful.

@MrsH497 - thank you my dear 😊 I love that Met show, so looking forward to ‘seeing’ you on it!

ELW85 · 31/10/2019 10:10

@cupcakesandglitter - sorry for making you think of pizza! Not that sorry though, it’s awesome and you should totally grab a slice for lunch 😊
Good luck for your scan today - how exciting! X

MrsEG · 31/10/2019 10:29

@BostonFern Ha I hope you get to have some food soon!!

@BabySquid 13 hours!! That’d be hard work for anyone! I think the longest I’ve flown is 11 hours and I wasn’t pregnant either! Have you got flight socks for the way home? Enjoy Halloween even in the bad weather!

@Fivebyfive2 Oh sorry to hear you’re uncomfortable! Could you try and long walk and see if it helps him shift in to position??

@ELW85 Oh gosh what happened that took you to the hospital, was it the pains? Glad to hear all is okay! Pizza is definitely a fine TV watching food, one of the best I’d say!

@purplefig I’ve been loving aquanatal! I’m not sure how I’ll get on tonight as it can be quite physical but I guess the whole water weightlessness thing might mean I am okay? The instructor has told me she can make it all PGP safe so I’ll give it a whirl! Your evening sounds lush! Have fun :)

@cupcakesandglitter Ideal for nursery decorating! We got light shades and curtains too! Can’t wait for it to all start to come together now!

@MrsH497 Will look out for you on the telly!!! Any hints as to which one you are??

OP posts:
BabySquid · 31/10/2019 10:44

@cupcakesandglitter this is last Friday laying down... I call it my little mountain... I'll do a full length one tomorrow.
@MrsEG yeah I've got flight socks, they did nothing (probs did but doesn't feel it haha!) and the 13 hours was just the first flight, there was another 5.5 hour from Singapore to Perth after that! Least coming back I have 6.5 hours in the airport to walk around a bit before the 14 hour flight home 🙃

ELW85 · 31/10/2019 10:52

@MrsEG - it was actually the lack of movements; I’d gone from really strong feelings every day to nothing yesterday and only really light ones on Tuesday.
The pains followed the hospital visit so I’m trying to not tie the two together.

How are the Halloween celebrations going? 😊

MrsEG · 31/10/2019 10:58

@BabySquid Look at that bump!! Oh god what a long travel itinerary!! Yeah try and move around, and drink lots!

@ELW85 Ahh, what did they say about it? Mine haven't moved much today, they didn't on Tues either, but did yesterday. I'm wondering if I should worry now! But I thought I didn't look for patterns or anything yet? Just feeling movement? What was the advice they gave you? Glad all was okay :) Halloween is fine - got my pumpkin carved and the pumpkin bowling is being set up - in all honestly I'm just waiting on the food coming out though!!

OP posts:
ELW85 · 31/10/2019 11:57

@MrsEG - I can’t stop thinking about food at the moment, so I’m totally with you!
The midwife said that once you start feeling movements, you should always feel them up to birth so if they suddenly stop to get in touch straight away.
But if they’ve been quiet but you’ve still felt something, don’t worry about it 😊 it’s if it stops altogether.
She said he’s probably just moved into a position that I can’t feel, and he moved when I was being Doppler’ed and I didn’t feel that so story checks out!
Went back to being reassured yesterday and then the pains last night really bothered me again.
I have felt similar before and everything was fine though, so assuming it’s just ligaments or muscles. There’s just so much to think about!

purplefig · 31/10/2019 12:54

@MrsH497 thanks lovely, me too! You have a fab Halloween too - anything nice planned?

@cupcakesandglitter ohhh 5pm is a mean time for a scan!! Hurry up day!! Honestly I'd say yoga is the best thing for my back, feel like I've had a massage afterwards. Good shout on the chunky scarf / back pillow. God I sound 82 not 28!

@ELW85 Oh that does sound stressful, big hugs. I think it's totally normal to worry a bit, but that said if you're having a lot of anxiety it might be worth investigating now. I'm just saying that as I imagine anxiety could also ramp up with birth / newborn etc.

@MrsEG ahhh nice your instructor is on board and can make it PGP appropz. I must get in for a swim just to feel the weightlessness if nothing else Grin . Please don't worry about not getting a pattern or movements differing in strength day to day - remember some people don't feel anything until 24 weeks!

MrsR16 · 31/10/2019 12:58

So, entirely unplanned trip to the hospital today! Woke up with headaches and blurry vision, so they wanted to see me. Baby's doing well, although is now measuring huge! Growth scan booked for tomorrow to check everything's ok... I've got a possible urine infection too (oh the joy!) so I'm drinking as much as possible at the moment! Day off from work to rest up and see how I go. However the MW that I saw confirmed baby is head down and in pelvis already! 😊

MrsEG · 31/10/2019 13:27

@ELW85 okay, that makes sense! Yeah I definitely feel them every day now. I can’t remember if I was told to look for a pattern at 26 or 28 weeks! I know it’s easy for other people to say, but I have been shocked at the pain of ligament tears/growth. It brings tears to my eyes. I try to think of it as a good thing as I know it means they’re having a growth spurt! Hope you’re feeling a bit better today?

@purplefig the weightless thing in the water is amazing honestly. Getting in is a dream! I know I can’t do breaststroke anymore but backstroke is fine so I imagine I’ll just do a lot of floating around!!

@MrsR16 Oh no!! I hope you’re okay - the exact same happened with my sister they thought it may have been the start of a pregnancy migraine? Looks like you’ll have a big baba on your hands!!

OP posts:
cupcakesandglitter · 31/10/2019 13:52

@ELW85 currently in bed and not well enough to drive so I can't get any 😭 May suggest it to DH for after the scan though 🤤

Ahh @MrsEG that's fab!! What have you gone for? When are you going to start decorating? I love decorating 😂 😃

Awwww @BabySquid look at that bump 😭🥰

Oh no @MrsR16 glad everything is looking okay, fx it's not a UTI and baby looks fine at the scan tomorrow x

@purplefig I know 😭 feels like forever waiting for DH to come home!! No problem, I have back problems anyway so I'm always thinking of the best way to be comfortable 😂 pregnancy definitely brings on the old lady mumbles though 😂

ELW85 · 31/10/2019 13:55

@purplefig - thank you, definitely something I’m keeping an eye one! I’m not feeling consumed by it, just very much a ‘what now’ sort of feeling. I think yesterday was just a particularly bad day, but you’re right to mention to think about it 😊
How’s your Halloween going?

@MrsR16 - sorry you had to go through that but pleased they checked you out and all is ok! You’ll be knackered now, bless you.

@MrsEG - thank you, I’m feeling loads better today! I definitely feel like he’s getting bigger too, and a couple of people at work have commented on the difference from a couple of weeks ago so all going in the right direction, I’m sure!
Ligament pain is horrendous (and I’m assuming that’s what it was!) but I think I’m a bit comforted by the fact I’ve felt similar before, so I’m not as worried as the first time I felt it!

ELW85 · 31/10/2019 13:57

@cupcakesandglitter - oh no, are you ok? Post-scan pizza sounds like a brilliant idea! X

MrsR16 · 31/10/2019 14:10

@MrsEG they're not entirely sure what it is! Possibly just a bit too run down for my own good. I had my community midwife appt this afternoon and she measured it exactly the same. She did say that she thinks it's a solid baby rather than a big one (not sure how that's different though!) 😂

@cupcakesandglitter I'll be drinking my body weight in juice and water and cranberry juice! 😂 this UTI will not get me!

@ELW85 I'm just about to get changed into my fluffy PJs, grab a blanket and cuddle on the sofa with the dog and stick a film on 😊

ELW85 · 31/10/2019 14:45

@MrsR16 - that sounds wonderful! There’s not a lot that pjs, a blanket and canine cuddles can’t cure 😀 enjoy!
