@LikeTheFruit wow 18+4! Time is flying - glad you're feeling better and have some energy back. How exciting about your kitchen - are you redesigning your flat to have an extra bedroom? Fingers crossed you get home in time for The Capture! Oh and FWIW I didn't get any proper movement until after my 20 week scan, before that it was just vague gurglings that could 100% have been digestion.
@thumper59 Sorry you've still got acid reflux and breathlessness - that pregnancy glow amirite?!?! I'm only 5" (and not quite an inch) with a short torso to boot, so I'm surprised I'm not huge already tbh. I thought I'd be one of of those people that pops at 12 weeks
. Got some decent kicks today after lunch (spicy Brazilian stew)...so guessing that tasted good!?
@PippaPug no honestly, you've been so helpful. You're full of knowledge!! Good to know pram and snow suits are the same...thought that was another item of clothing I needed for a minute. Oh god, I only have to look at our little 0 - 3 month penguin themed one and it basically makes me well up. Your pregnancy massage sounds utterly amazing - let us know how it goes. I've got a hot water bottle on my back at the moment as it's just started to twinge.
@MrsEG Thanks for the tips - I remember using vodka on my old vintage clothes, but I was a uni student then so it could have well been an excuse to crack out the good stuff! This is for a blanket my great aunty knitted for me, so it's 28 years old and a bit musty smelling, just don't want to damage it. Plus we've got a load of newborn clothes from our friends who don't have a tumble drier, so they've got that slightly musty smell. Oh you've got a really exciting few days coming up...excellent telly tonight, scan tomorrow and then twin consultant meeting too! Enjoy - I absolutely loved the 20 week scan, the level of detail is insane and you get a proper good look around in there. Get ready to say hi boys!
@MrsH497 I hope you feel better soon - colds are rotten at the best of times, especially when you're pregnant! I found lemon and honey hot water soothed my throat. Also I did take a bit of paracetamol which I wouldn't normally have for a cold, but it definitely took the edge off.
@ELW85 totally normal - I felt really un-pregnant around that point! I didn't have much of a bump at all (just looked vaguely bloated...like I normally do post dinner) and couldn't get any movement (and people kept asking!). I found listening to the heartbeat at the 16 week midwife appointment really boosted me (though they don't all offer this as it can be tricky to find, so not worth the stress), and then it's not long until the 20 week scan. And by around about then, you should hopefully get some movement. I didn't get mine until a few days after the scan - and the sonographer said lots of women don't feeling anything before the 20 week scan. It's tricky - but just try and enjoy this phase of feeling fairly normal and getting to eat whatever you fancy.
@Fivebyfive2 you guys are on a mission at the mo, very impressive!
I'm starting to think about stocking up our freezer with some homemade meals ahead of the bambinos arrival. First things first, I need to acquire a chest freezer as our fridge/freezer won't cut the mustard for my plans. I'm thinking lots of veg/bean/lentil based soups/curries/casseroles...it'll be February so I'm planning to properly hibernate for a couple of weeks
.
Have a fab evening everyone! I'm off on a long ish dog walk (feel like I haven't moved in days thanks to this cold..finally going today I think) then it's all about The Capture. Enjoy whatever you get up to x
