@Frizzy1986 I'll definitely go shopping for snacks tomorrow ready for Sunday! I weren't sure if I was allowed to eat incase they had to do an emergency c-section and forgot to ask them about it..
That's really heartbreaking that no-one would play with your DD! I'd be really upset if my child came home and told me that Sad

HJWT · 20/09/2019 20:43

@newbabyyy2019 I ate when I was induced, I had GD though so was forced to eat through out! Get some Lucozade to if you can x

@Frizzy1986 - back from maternity unit. Hardly a kick all day then as soon as I was on the monitor he started doing cartwheels lol typical but midwifes were fab and encouraged us to go straight back if any more reduced movements. I know what you mean if can be hard to tell sometimes especially if you have a particularly busy day

HJWT · 20/09/2019 21:24

@Slinkyreptile thats good news!! Always best to get checked. My friend went in and they decided to induce her the next day (it was around her due date), when they went to break her waters they couldn't, turns out she had none left and baby could of been in trouble! X

@Frizzy1986 oh your poor DD 😞 that sounds very upsetting. Hopefully next week will be a different story.

@slinkyreptile I had the same thing when I went for reduced movements, except mine starting going mad as soon as I was examined!

Feel crap this evening. Made it out for dinner but was uncomfortable and felt highly irritable the whole time. Now feeling very emotional. I feel I shouldn’t complain as I’ve had a good pregnancy, but I’m really struggling now. Got stuck lying down earlier and couldn’t shift myself. Just fed up :(

cattaxi · 20/09/2019 21:40

Wow! Fast moving thread today 🙂 loving all the chat & great to see lots of new names. I’m still feeling pretty shitty & full of cold, despite a restful day. We’ve a wedding to go to tomorrow afternoon, so I hope I perk up by then.

@newbabyyy2019 a friend told me to take an iPad loaded with some games to pass the time on induction. I didn’t end up with much time before it all kicked off, but in the time we did have, we enjoyed a few rounds of trivial pursuit.

Your poor dd @Frizzy1986. I worry so much about other kids being nice to ds and vice versa. School introduces them to a whole new word of friendships & stuff doesn’t it?

Glad your check was ok @Slinkyreptile - you can never be too careful.

Is anyone else having really sore boobs? Mine have been crazy today. Really sore - a bit like when you get engorged in the early days of feeding. Hopefully they won’t start leaking!

MrsNotNice · 20/09/2019 21:41

Ladies I managed to crack a deal with DH that straight after labour no matter what time it is he will go buy me the biggest pizza there is to stuff it down my throat.

What are you going to reward yourselves with after you pull through ? Need ideas to motivate myself.

I’m gonna put my toddlers photo Infront of me to keep me going and I will put the scan photos of my newborn to keep me going. Hope that works.

Recorded my voice doing the countdown for my breathing techniques and I have a recording of all the hypnobirthing positivity talk.

Thinking to download funny movies to watch but frankly I can’t see myself bothering.

I think I’m just gonna stick around my toddler for long and keep hugging him through contractions 😂. Until I get to hospital at which point I doubt I would wanna watch anything.

What things are you doing to help yourself overcome labour fears? I won’t lie I’m a bit scared this time

MrsNotNice · 20/09/2019 21:42

HJWT ahh I think I need to buy those raspberry leaf things if it shortens active labour

Frizzy1986 · 20/09/2019 22:54

@mrsnotnice I want a massive rare steak asap!! I also have some cured meats and reblochon cheese that I got on holiday in France that I can't wait to devour. Specifically purchased with use by dates end of Oct/Nov so I knew I could eat them.
I'm not worried about labour this time. For me it's more the not knowing when it will start. I know once it begins you just deal with it, body takes over and you have to go with it. I'm just desperate for it to start so we can get logistics of dd sorted and then I'll feel better.

@cattaxi yes it's a crazy time. She made some great friends in reception and I think the fact that they didn't play with her is what has made her feel bad. I'm sure it'll just be a one off but it'll be something I try to mention when parents eve comes around as sometimes its difficult to get much out of her.

CarysRed · 20/09/2019 23:15

@Frizzy1986 Your poor DD!. I hope Monday is better for her.

@MrsNotNice DP will be getting me a maccies!.

SC0508 · 20/09/2019 23:32

Has anyone else ankles swelled to the point they are struggling to stand? I've been lay in bed with my feet elevated but just wanna cry with the pain they are in 🙁 poor OH feels so bad that he can't help with it as when he even tries to touch them I yelp in pain

Em39ma · 21/09/2019 03:12

I’m awake again. My hip isn’t hurting or anything, so not sure why I’m wide awake now.
36 weeks today, strange feeling that if they go to the original plan on Tuesday I will have a baby sometime after Saturday next week.
Got to get the car seat and pram into the car and the side by side to my DP house. We are going to stay there after the birth. It will make both our lives easier and help DH if I’m not feeling great.
Bag is about packed, but think I need to find some snacks etc to go in. I love fruit so can’t put it in to early or it will go off.
Her room is all sorted and the baby clothes are in really useful boxes with there ages on. So my DM can just pick up that box and take it back to hers.

Figuringitout · 21/09/2019 04:19

I’m awake too. I struggle to breathe at night and wake up having nightmares which then make my mind race. I’ve given up trying to get back to sleep for a bit - but the thought of two kids on my own all day tomorrow (DH is working) is exhausting already!!
@Em39ma you sound like you have everything under control. It’ll be great to have your mum’s support in the early days.
Hope everyone else is getting some rest.

HJWT · 21/09/2019 07:21

@MrsNotNice Probably McDonalds here to, its the nearest thing that is quick & easy!

Im not scared to go into labour, Iv done it once I know I can get through it again! I am just praying for a better after delivery and no bleed! That would be really nice 😁

@Frizzy1986 ahh iv been craving a medium rare steak all the way through! Cannot wait to be able to have one 😝

@Em39ma I woke up a couple of hours ago with severe cramp again in my leg! Couldn't move it, I'm glad contractions don't feel like that haha xx

OP posts:
HJWT · 21/09/2019 07:22

I got in DD's single bed and I cant get out 😂😂😂

OP posts:
Em39ma · 21/09/2019 07:34

I got leg cramp before I was pregnant, I have restless leg syndrome. But I have found that my legs have actually stopped moving around at night since being pregnant. Might be because I’m lying on my side, but not sure.
I think I’m organised, then I panic I’ve forgotten something. Only thing I haven’t bought anything of is bottles or a pump. I want to exclusively breastfeed, but if I have problems mum or DH will just go out buy them.
We did the same with my sister in law. She had gall stones with her first, she tried to feed for about 3 weeks but baby was getting more and more dehydrated, mum just said to my DB that she was getting them or the baby would end up in hospital or worse. She down that bottle in about 10 seconds. She exclusively breastfed the next 2 know problems.

YorkshireIndie · 21/09/2019 07:36

@SC0508 try body shop peppermint foot cream. My feet swelled up from 20wks and I have found that cream invaluable

Quick guys I need your collective wisdom. Going to NCT and need to bring something for a bring and share lunch- what do I bring? Brain is wiped from moving yesterday

cattaxi · 21/09/2019 07:37

Morning! I slept okish. 10 million wee’s, but no cramps for a change.
Dh has got up with ds & brought me breakfast in bed. Great start to the day! I think I might try to go back to sleep.

@HJWT I got in with ds for story & snuggles last night & couldn’t get out 😂 I had to kind of roll / flop out in the end! It’s really painful to go from lying down to sitting up all of a sudden. I need a hoist!

@Frizzy1986 fingers crossed it’s a one off. It’s such a big leap into the social world for them. It’s hard not to worry. Speaking to the teacher at parents Eve sounds like a great idea.

Have a great Saturday everyone.

MrsNotNice · 21/09/2019 07:39

I’m feeling super loving and emotional towards my toddler. I mean I’m usually loving but not when he wakes me up at night I wouldn’t be bothered to be cuddling telling him how he is the best and how much I love him. Getting some gushy feelings..

So then, I thought to myself... is this bloody oxytocin sending me into early labour??? Shock

cattaxi · 21/09/2019 07:39

X-posts @YorkshireIndie - I always make something like a homity pie for bring & share. If you’re not cooking - how about a nice antipasti / cheese / bread selection. Easy to put together & super tasty.
Hope the move went well.

Jojo7979 · 21/09/2019 07:51

Everyone getting their bags packed is making me think I need to get going with it too! Finished work yesterday 😀 so I’ve no excuses now, reality is definitely setting in 😂

HJWT · 21/09/2019 08:35

@cattaxi I think I need a crane 😂

@MrsNotNice I was like that with DD the other night she woke me up at 1AM and I was stroking her head nearly crying because I love her so much ! Normally id be shouting GO BACK TO SLEEP!! Its not morning yet 🤣

@Jojo7979 I am 36 weeks today and bag has been packed for a couple of weeks! I got sick of the stuff being everywhere lol, at least I can shove it in the bottom of the wardrobe x

Hi everyone I've not been on in a while.

36 weeks today (and counting) getting very impatient and excited here now in our house.
We are currently preparing the house and getting things set up. Decorating and new carpets going down this weekend and the buggy etc can be set up.

My last baby was a week early so this one could be here in 3 weeks too 🤞🏻 but I know you can never predict when they'll decide to arrive.

I've finished work now for maternity as I was so tired.
How are you all doing?

CarysRed · 21/09/2019 10:17

Hope everyone’s okay this morning. It seems like not many of us had a good nights sleep. I had bad back ache again, and really bad acid reflux. I keep thinking I can’t wait for the pregnancy to be over and then I can get a decent nights sleep, but that’s not going to be the case!.

@Jojo7979 I packed the other day. I’ll end up repacking constantly but I just wanted it to be doen
