November babies - getting close now...

Thought I'd post another November babies thread as I haven't seen one in ages. I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow and it's starting to feel very real now! Not that the crazy heartburn and ever expanding bump wasn't enough of a reminder... anyone else due in November and want to chat?

I'll be 30 weeks on Wednesday so it's starting to feel real, due the 27th of November and this is our first. I've had SPD for months and I'm so over it. I just want him to get to actually meeting him.

leomama81 · 16/09/2019 18:15

Thanks @Hayesdays! I've also got a low placenta so another scan soon - that at least helps break things up a bit! Hope your placenta resolves though x

Goostacean · 16/09/2019 18:29

Due with our second on the 29th Nov; I think there are a few of us with that due date on this thread, surprisingly! Am working up until that date, supposedly, but will have to see how long I can last- had a busy weekend and am feeling very unwell today as a result, and permanently uncomfortable, it seems... Almost 3/4 of the way there!

KatieKat88 · 16/09/2019 18:36

I have a hospital bag... it's currently empty, but that's a start, right?! I've had really bad achey legs for the last few days, like when you overdo exercise the day before - not a fan. Hoping yoga tonight sorts me out!

Yes it's the pressure- when I actually go I don't need it that much! So frustrating 😂

I’m also due on 29th of November! Really looking forward to having the baby now, as it’s going into autumn if just feels more real. I haven’t packed anything yet, haven’t started on any serious shopping either. At first we wanted to wait as long as possible - to not tempt fate so to speak, but now starting to panic a bit!

Summerloving17 · 17/09/2019 09:40

Hi everyone I’m due 17th November #2 but a girl this time and am sooo huge everyone thinks I’m about to go into labour! Sadly Still feels like a long time away and I’ll no doubt be overdue again!!

Starting to buy bits now and like a PP I’ve got a hospital bag but not packed it yet, still need to buy things like a snowsuit and blankets. As I had my son 5 years ago I’ve also just ordered a new mattress for the snuzpod as I wasn’t sure you could reuse them!
So pleased it’s cooler today! Xx

Hello everyone. I've been a long time lurker on the other November threads having been on it a bit at the start. I'm due on 24th November, we're team yellow so feeling very impatient to find out what we're having! Off to our second NCT class this evening so had been waiting for the classes before starting all the last minute purchases and preparation in case I get some tips from the class - particularly on the breastfeeding/formula feeding front and also bathing.

Mum has been regularly bringing up that I should breastfeed but honestly I must admit to being petrified of it which is so daft considering how natural it is. Also, I mostly like the idea of the convenience of bottles with being out and about and night time feeds being shareable.

NewMumToB3 · 17/09/2019 13:15

Hi all,

Really happy to see this thread!

FTM here. Due 19th November ( @littlemissminor - you are the first person I've come across with a matching due date!) with our first - exactly 31 weeks today!

We don't know what we are having so still very much going to be a surprise for us when our little one makes an appearance.

Still feeling well at the moment and hoping to continue along this path.

Anyone else feel like pregnancy has flown by?
As much as I can't wait to meet our baby, the speed at which due date is approaching is rather scary!

K xx

PrincessSarene · 17/09/2019 16:13

I finish work on 9th October (lots of leave and accrued overtime to use) so was planning to wait until after then to sort out hospital bag... is that leaving it a bit late?!!

NewMumToB3 · 17/09/2019 16:35

I'm working up until my due date at the moment (Keeping my leave on standby, but I'd rather use it the other end)

It's up to you @PrincessSarene - what date are you due?
I'm hoping to have mine done by the end of the month, but that's only because I want to tackle Christmas shopping in October. I can't imagine getting much done once baby arrives!
I had a friend that recently gave birth at 35 weeks and so I plan to be ready before then - just in case! However unlikely that may be x

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 17/09/2019 16:53

I've decided to finish up at 37+5 because I'd like to rest before labour if possible. I've had SPD from 10 weeks and I can't even imagine how bad it's going to get before I deliver.

KatieKat88 · 17/09/2019 17:41

@cakeordeath89 I want to try to breastfeed but also express a bit so I can have a break! Might be worth considering. See what happens but if you're happy then baby is more likely to be happy so do whatever you think is best - if that's bottle feeding then fine. As long as the baby gets fed!

I'm away on a training course with work in early Oct, so planning to pack my bag once I'm back from that- around the 12th probably... so will be 34 weeks. Should be okay, I hope! We're also renovating the nursery so hoping that will be done around the same time, and we'll be ready!

PrincessSarene · 17/09/2019 18:55

@NewMumToB3 I’ll be 32 weeks when I finish work, so thought that was plenty of time... I honestly can’t remember when I had my bag packed last time; DD1 is 4 and it feels like ages ago when I was doing the pregnant/newborn stages. Hoping it all comes back to me once DD2 arrives!!

Ohmydaysmate · 17/09/2019 18:58

I will be around 37 weeks when I stop work and I was going to pack the bag then but reading all these comments I think I will pack sooner rather than later... just in case!! I will need to google what to put in tho - although the midwife thinks I won't make it to hospital as both previous labours have been very quick last one under 45 minutes, start to finish. My DH is scared it will happen at home and he will be left dealing with it - never fear tho his comment was "dad has calved a cow so I'll call him" Thanks love! 😂😂

Tilly94 · 17/09/2019 19:11

I’m due 20th November, so 31 weeks tomorrow! Haven’t packed hospital bag yet but thinking of getting on it this weekend :) getting so excited now ..

NewMumToB3 · 17/09/2019 19:25

@PrincessSarene that’s definitely plenty of time!!
The timeline on my app suggests from 33-37 weeks is the ideal time. It’s probably easier to be organised when you don’t have another child at home!
And I’m certain it’ll all come back to you! Seasoned pro second time around - naturally x

hels1987 · 17/09/2019 20:13

Hey everyone. I'm due 24th November with a baby girl and I'm a FTM. Really starting to struggle now in work but I only have five weeks left, lots of holidays left so mat leave will be starting on my due date :) getting really excited to meet her but getting incredibly anxious about the birth I think it's fear of the unknown! So exciting that we will all be meeting our little ones soon Grin

PrincessSarene · 17/09/2019 21:24

@NewMumToB3 Phew!! I was planning to use the time when DD1 is at school to get loads of stuff organised; will have to remember I’m meant to be resting too!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 19/09/2019 08:01

I had my bag packed from about 27 weeks last time after i was unexpectedly admitted overnight and had nothing with me! We thought they were going to say we were first time parents panicking over nothing, it turns out we weren't Shock Though I don't think I actually packed anything for the baby until much later.

cakeordeath89 · 19/09/2019 08:12

@hels1987 Finally a birth date twin! Your the first person I've come across on the all the November threads that is 24th November :)
Struggling in work but mostly mentally rather than physically - finding the disorganisation about who is covering my workload when I'm off and the plans to do a re-structure meaning I've no idea who I'll be working for when I'm back, aren't really helping my motivation :(

I'm finishing on the 8th November as I have saved up 2 weeks holiday and then starting Mat Leave on due date.

Had the most vivid dream last night that the baby arrived early - we're not finding out what it is but in the dream it was a little girl and now I can't get it out of my head, I woke up really upset this morning! Not sure if it was the idea that the baby might come early, that it still feels like the due date is very far away or that despite always saying that I'm not bothered what it is that my brain has naturally developed the idea it's a girl when all pregnancy I've thought it was a boy! It's really messed with my emotions :(

cakeordeath89 · 19/09/2019 08:14

Doh I put your instead of you're* :( That's what you get for adding a message at 8.10am!

KatieKat88 · 19/09/2019 13:15

Think I might start packing this weekend, just in case! I feel like I'm really slowing down now (in that I'm literally walking really slowly - it's driving me mad because I'm normally very on it at work!)
