So who's breech at the moment and how many weeks are you?

I'm 33+1 and I don't reckon this LO will turn!

Will keep you updated

hello!

Can I join belatedly?! My LO is breech and I'm 37+5 today. I'm booked for a c section on Thursday when I'll be 38+1! Have any of you got dates for c sections yet? I turned down the ECV last week, really didn't like the sound of it and known most pple to have it not work for them.
I;m feeling ok about c section now and have psyched myself for it, id prob worry now if he did turn, as I've got my head around having a c section.

Another postive story to add (although not sure!) - On the August thread someone got to the pre-op scan to find LO had turned! Bit of a shock when you've got used to the idea of a CS!

Hope you get the births you want!

Welcome Ess - wow, your little one will be with you in no time at all. When/ if you get a chance post c section, do pop on and let us know how you are.

Betsy - I have been given a similar reason, was very active pre pregnancy and they think i just have strong muscles holding the bub in place - this baby has been breech since the beginning!

For a moment this weekend, I thought perhaps the baby had turned. It was wriggling lots and the head was not jammed underneath my ribs so much. However all movements are in the same areas, so it just makes me wonder whether the baby has dropped, which i believe makes it harder to turn.

Oh well - next appt tomorrow, so will find out position and how the growth has progressed (growth slowed down on the last scan). Based on finding out the above factors, I think I will know what option I am going to pursue. If bub is breech and still on the small side, then I know they will not recommend trying to turn it or delivering naturally. I have been preparing myself for having a csection for a fortnight now and am fine with it - not sure how I would cope if they said vag delivery was now an option.

Hope that everyone else has had a good bank holiday - when is everyones next appts? Think we should add those to the list too!

I can't imagine what its like not having a breech baby now, the fact that their heads are up instead of their legs, makes me feel that we are sort of... well closer to them. Sounds silly though when I say it!

The australian site is v good, but i dont like the theory that mothers of brrech babies may have some emotional problem that influences their babies to stay head up!

Muscles or pelvis shape it must be! I mean they just seek out the most comfortable position don't they?

Ess

dal21 · 27/08/2007 10:11

Hi Ess - I didnt like that part either. So is it a definite c section this thurs or will they scan you first and if its turned does that give you options?

Nettee · 27/08/2007 11:13

Hello everyone, good to hear about the May 07 breech babies - hope we do as well. My baby has been transverse for most of the weekend so no sign of it settling yet. Have been making plans for a long hospital stay but don't know what they will advise tomorrow. It is so strange not knowing what is going to happen. Almost jealous of those of you with CS booked as you know where you are. I doubt I will be able to update from hospital if I do go in but should be able to read updates so will be keeping an eye on this thread

Good luck for Thursday Ess and for those of you with scans coming up. I have added my details to the list

Hiya, they'll scan first and if he's turned i'll go for a natural birth, but so far he hasn't! He hasn't been head down since before 28 weeks so I think it's unlikely tho not impossible at this stage. So I think it's pretty cert I'm having the op on Thurs!

Nettee -

Does your lo go from transverse to breech? How often does he/she change do you think? I wondered for a bit if mine was unstable lie as on my notes in the course of a week it said, oblique transverse and breech! Although most of the time he is mainly breech, he does go transverse a bit though... Good Luck!

Hey everyone, I'll add my bits too !!I have a check scan/ appt with the obstetrician at 36 weeks on 6/9/o7- then we'll go from there.EDD is supposed to be on 30/9/07. Good luck everyone and let's get some positive vibes these little tykes decide to turn over !! I'm going with the theories that either my stomach muscles are tighly holding the LO in or the bubba just wants to be close to me !!

bex44 · 27/08/2007 15:30

Hi, have added my details. LO still happily breech, all movements and hiccups low down. Hoping not to go into labour spontaneously before section, sometimes i worry that those little hard kicking feet may set things off! Australian info made interesting reading. In my case perhaps there is something in the psychological bit, I've always been keen on a CS and this allows me to justify it medically?!

Position update - bub has defo changed position, head is not as high as it was before. cannot figure if baby has dropped, moved to sideways position or what??? am sooo glad i moved my appt forward by a day to tomorrow instead of keeping it with weds. am dying to know what this bub is doing...

Alfie72 · 27/08/2007 21:01

Dal21,
Let's hope that your wee one has decided to make the descent !! Let us know how you get on. My LO tries his/her hardest to move and the head moves left and right lon occassion but he/she can't get their feet out my pelvis.

Hopeitwontbebig · 27/08/2007 21:38

dal21 and Nettee good luck with your scans tomorrow!

I've just come back from the cinema and I've been getting loads of uncomfortable prods in my cervix and all 'lumps' are still in the same place. So suspect this LO is still breech.

Hi everyone - my movements jabs are still fairly low down too - so dont think bub has moved massively. Good luck everyone with appts today - will post when I get back this afternoon with an update. Fingers and toes for everyone!

Nettee · 28/08/2007 09:09

Ess - my baby moves between breech and transverse all the time - more than once a day. Sometime there is even a head down the bottom but that is unusual.

Good luck for this afternoon Dal - will be looking out for your update.

Hopeitwontbebig · 28/08/2007 10:22

Hello, can I join in? I know many of you from the September board already but I am 35 +3 and my bub has been in the same breech position for 6 weeks. I have also had a very active preganancy and have a small bump which makes me think i may have contributed to holding this poor lo in one place!

Added my details below. I have tried lots of positions including handstands in my gym pool - not a pretty sight. Have been on my hands and knees every day but to no avail. Am booked in for acupuncture next week and an ECV on the 11th Sep at 37 + 2. If she doesn't turn then they have said it will be a c section at 38- 39 weeks. Like Dal I have my head around this now but still hoping she will turn. Good luck to everyone!

Hiya TinaLC

I feel exactly the same as you! I am also pretty tiny and have a small bump and am wondering how much this is my fault... I am also doing the moxa/ECV/C-section route at the moment, so let's cross our fingers together. x
