Definitely worth it! @Jesskir89

My local one does reassurance scans for £40! @Dinosauraddict but I can imagine why you'd be so loyal!

Jesskir89 · 15/08/2019 07:50

@Dinosauraddict I've not been loyal I've changed hospitals now I'm pregnant to a better one lol I would shop about as that's really expensive and like you say you could have more if you do x

Yvonne1988 · 15/08/2019 07:54

There's not a single private scan be near me. Closest is like Glasgow! Or I probably would have had one.

Well here's hoping today is better than yeaterday. Starting to sleep a bit more but I always sleep better when I'm not on my own. Yesterday though I had a really sore stomach all day from dinner time, trapped wind kind of pain I was in agony. Don't know what to take that will work.

blondie87 · 15/08/2019 08:14

Thank for all the well wishes regarding scan. You’re a lovely bunch!

I’m feeling less nauseous and tired so started to worry but bean is fine! Must be as we head towards the mythical 13 weeks. Oo @barnyb we’re DD buddies! How are you feeling? I know you’ve felt rough!
That’s amazing you get the option to do that @avocadoincident I think all employers should offer that.

Jesskir89 · 15/08/2019 08:52

I've been to work and come home again! Feel rotton had wind and a bad belly since 4am and never take sick time so I'm having a bed day today

Cantrip · 15/08/2019 09:30

9+5 today and woken up with quite a lot of brown discharge. Obviously worrying now. Anyone had similar? I had some spotting about a month ago but nothing at all since.

Naylor19 · 15/08/2019 09:35

@Jesskir89 hope you feel better soon!

@Cantrip brown is usually old blood so could just some that didn't make it out with the last lot, I'm sure it's nothing to be concerned about. You could always ring midwife and ask advice to reassure you further :)

Naylor19 · 15/08/2019 09:36

Also, anyone got any tips to help combat morning sickness? I haven't left the bathroom since 7am! I'm also struggling with my bowels, I'm worried I'm going to become dehydrated at this rate!

MockingJay27 · 15/08/2019 09:38

@Cantrip I haven’t had it but i’m Sure its very common, maybe keep an eye on it and call midwife if it increases.

I have an early scan booked in on the 20th, will be 9+1, i’m wondering if it is ok to tell people after that or whether its still best to wait till 12 weeks, from what I have read online there doesn’t seem to be much difference with the statistics of safety?
Would be good earlier as a close friend is getting married in a few weeks and didn’t want to announce too close to her special day.

Yvonne1988 · 15/08/2019 09:39

Having one of those feeling almost normal days. Not had one before. Didn't even heave when I brushed my teeth. But I didn't do it as soon as I got up this time.

Naylor19 · 15/08/2019 09:43

@MockingJay27 I think the risk after seeing heartbeat decreases to 5% so I don't see why not :) it's more whatever your comfortable with! I've told close family and I'm only 7+5, and I'll have to tell work next week. But I'll hold off until 12 weeks to tell the world just because mines been very up and down already so wouldn't want to have to explain if anything did go wrong!

@Yvonne1988 make the most of it whiles it's here! On my good day I cleaned the whole house. Hope it lasts for you :)

MockingJay27 · 15/08/2019 09:47

@Naylor19 having a supply or ginger biscuits and dry crackers in my bag at all times is helping keep mine at bay

MockingJay27 · 15/08/2019 09:49

@Naylor19 that’s good to know, i saw the heartbeat at my 6 week scan (which I was given because of some pains in my back which turned out to be nothing) so fingers crossed everything will be fine on Tuesday. DH is excited to see the baby for 1st time.

Naylor19 · 15/08/2019 09:53

@MockingJay27 I've got a packet of ginger biscuits it's just bringing myself to eat them! I do notice if I eat regular it doesn't seem to get as bad!

It's a magical experience, my DH loved our scan yesterday to see how much it had grown in such a short space of time was amazing! He was in awe of how something so small had a little heartbeat Smile

Yvonne1988 · 15/08/2019 10:29

@naylor19 that's what i feel like doing! But busy today. I like to clean loads on a Sunday so hopefully I can get another one

Keyboard91 · 15/08/2019 11:07

Just booked a private scan for next Thursday 22nd when I should be 9 weeks exactly. Feeling nervous. Then have midwife on the 27th and then back to school on the 28th. Should start to go quicker then 🤞

@MockingJay27 I’ve already told family and my close friends at around 7 weeks as we had a scan due to spotting that showed all was well so far and had a heartbeat. I will have to tell colleagues on the 28th (9+6). We will announce it officially after dating scan purely because we should have a nice picture to go along with it :)

Jesskir89 · 15/08/2019 11:35

@MockingJay27 I told everyone at just over 6 weeks as my dh planned a surprise 30th and I had to turn a lot of drinks down. They say after 6 weeks you're safer and when I had my 8 week scan last week the consultant told me I've got a 95 percent chance of a healthy and successful pregnancy now. @Naylor19 sounds similar to me today I've just been back to bed for a bit how you feeling now? I've got a really bad belly

Naylor19 · 15/08/2019 11:47

@Jesskir89 I also had a little lie down, it's not as bad at min but I feel like if I move it might return! And then I feel paranoid when I'm being poorly incase it's effecting baby! Nightmare! Can't wait to start feeling better already, so worried about flying Sunday if I feel this terrible Blush we've booked seats so im sitting aisle nearest to toilets, but it's so mortifying x

Jesskir89 · 15/08/2019 11:56

@Naylor19 where you going? We've not long got back from Rome and going to gran canaria in 2 weeks midwife said it'll do me good so don't worry. Take advantage while we still can!

satsumasaturday · 15/08/2019 12:28

@Cantrip I had a day with a fair amount of brown discharge last Monday at 9+1. I mentioned it to midwife yesterday at my booking appointment, along with spotting that I had for about a week at 6-7 weeks and she didn't seem concerned. She said sometimes when your period would usually be due then you can get a bit of spotting so perhaps it's that?

Ginandtonic31 · 15/08/2019 12:33

@Cantrip I am10 weeks tomorrow and had brown spotting quite often. They found I had a haematoma which was where the blood was coming from. Baby was fine. They say don't worry unless it's bright red and cramping.

maybenextmonth · 15/08/2019 12:58

Hi everyone! Really good to read how everyone is doing.

I had an appointment with a consultant today due to my history and he gave me a scan unexpectedly. I'm measuring 10+3 and saw the heartbeat again - all now feels so much more real and like I can finally get excited. It's incredible what you can see on the scans (I had an internal one because I'd just emptied my bladder for a urine sample!) but I could see eyes and nose and everything. Was amazing!

satsumasaturday · 15/08/2019 13:09

Lovely to hear some good scan new @maybenextmonth!

I have the day off today and after realizing how completely clueless I am about all things baby and childbirth at my midwife appointment last night, I am watching one born every minute for the first time. Not sure this was a good idea 😳

Yvonne1988 · 15/08/2019 13:31

@satsumasaturday oh dear don't watch that haha. As someone who has been there it's not as bad as they make out on the show 🙈 I always think the screaming is so unnecessary

Yvonne1988 · 15/08/2019 13:31

I started watching it from the start a couple months ago when I was thinking about trying, made me think I want to try a pool for the birth
