@elw85 I'm not sure if it's that cos I had spotting Thursday night and was fine until this morning. It's not even enough to call bleeding but enough to get me a bit worked up now

avocadoincident · 05/08/2019 16:28

@Jesskir89 sorry I meant they want me to go in to the normal drs surgery to see a gp

MaryMary99 · 05/08/2019 17:17

Hello ladies, can I join in too please :-)
According to my early scan on 28th July measurements suggested I was 7 weeks 1 day (but according to LMP I should’ve been 7 weeks 5 days – that’s fine). I’m getting married in less than 3 week and the hen party is this Saturday (can’t wait….not LOL)

I have my booking in appt this Thursday and NHS scan on 30th August.

Apart from the sore nipples, veiny boobs and nausea I haven’t got any other symptoms (again that’s fine). One thing I am worried about is that for the last 3 weeks I’ve been feeling generally sick throughout the whole day with very little appetite. The sickness has incread from about a 4/10 to a 6/10 now but have thrown up only once.
I refuse most meals that my partner makes because I just really don’t fancy them or have gone off the same meals I’ve always loved since BFP. I feel like I’m not eating enough to support a growing baby. Is anyone else going through this? Does the loss of appetite tend to fade away soon? x

Dinosauraddict · 05/08/2019 17:19

Welcome @MaryMary99 and yes I'm exactly the same as you. Skipping breakfast, mainly skipping lunch (some days attempting to have a very small snack) and then attempting dinner each night but failing most days. Not ideal.

ELW85 · 05/08/2019 17:24

@Yvonne1988 - I hope you’re ok! I get why you’d feel worked up over it x

dream109 · 05/08/2019 17:24

@MaryMary99 this is my strongest pregnancy symptom. I just don't fancy any type of food at all and sweet stuff/smell of fat makes me feel really nauseous. I'm managing mostly white foods (bread, crackers, ginger nut biscuits) throughout the day but not too much else. I force a veg/fruit shake that my fiance makes down every day, but I gag the whole way through it. Have you tried a couple of ginger nut biscuits to see if they help with settling the nausea?

MunchyMunchkin · 05/08/2019 17:42

@MaryMary99 it’s really common, try and eat whatever you fancy or can manage.
I tend to be worse in the evening so just force myself to eat a small dinner. Needs must and all that. Ultimately the pregnancy will take from you and still grown fine!
You could try vitamin b6 for the nausea. H&B sell 50mg tablets. It’s helped me a bit.

Jesskir89 · 05/08/2019 18:17

@avocadoincident sorry I completely read that wrong! I'm thankful you're not having surgery lol. @MaryMary99 I wish I was off food only in having the opposite issue atm whilst trying to watch my weight... @FlipKat is everything ok?

SLT90 · 05/08/2019 18:24

Hi @MaryMary99
I'm also aversive to basically all foods at the moment and nauseous throughout the full day 😭 I've found though that hunger seems to be the main issue - the longer I go without eating the worse I feel and then I feel too sick to eat so it's a vicious cycle. I've found that after forcing my way through a small meal I feel quite good for maybe 30-60 mins and then go rapidly downhill again. So maybe try eating very regularly even though it feels like the last thing you want to do! Go for any meals you can stomach and persevere through the first few mouthfuls to see if you get the same effect! Worth a try 😊

Anyone else burping all the time?

barnyb · 05/08/2019 20:11

@SLT90 everything u just said ! Is me! And the gross burps !! The burps make me feel even more sick!! Hideous 🤮🤢🥵
What about smells!!! Everything stinks so bad !!!!

avocadoincident · 05/08/2019 20:21

@MaryMary99 if it makes you feel any better I've had a bug for 8 days now and the dr told me to only eat plain white toast and boiled water. Apparently baby will be fine with that.

Yvonne1988 · 05/08/2019 20:35

I'm going for an early scan this week. Phoned the hospital just to see if it was an option really. I don't think there's anything wrong. But I could be wrong. I just didn't want to get to my 12 week scan to find it stopped or something.

SweetChillis · 05/08/2019 21:00

@avocadoincident 8days?!?! Wow, I feel sorry for you, hope it's started easing up now?

I thought I had it bad with extreme nausea 24/7.....that's puts it into perspective.

On a side note my online food shop just arrived. I think it's best I don't have this responsibility any more as our fridge is not filled with anything nutritious as everything made me feel sick when I ordered!! Poor DP 🙈

mumof3plusbean · 05/08/2019 21:08

Hi all, expecting number 4 on 26th march. so I am 6+4
I am feeling generally ok, no major nausea or sickness yet. felt very tired today and had an hours nap because I just couldn't cope!
weirdly, I had no nausea or sickness during pregnancy with my boy and was sick constantly between weeks 6-10 with my 2 girls!
so will be intresting to see if this baby is male?!

thankful16 · 05/08/2019 21:38

Hi all,

I've been following all the March posts for a while but didn't want to post as I was too worried I'd made my pregnancy up in my head. First baby for me. Thankfully, I've been for a private scan tonight which has confirmed its real and is happening Smile According to the measurements I'm 8 weeks 4 days. I thought I was 8 weeks and 1 day so wasn't far out though I'm told the dates could change again slightly come my 12 week scan - well I'll be around 11 weeks then as it's scheduled for 22nd Aug. So relieved that all is going okay and I am actually growing a wee tiny human. I've been so anxious and worried lately and didn't want to let myself get too excited about things but feel I can start to now. I also had my first midwife appointment this morning which helped make it feel more real too.

This baby is very much wanted and was actually a bit of a surprise as my partner and I were just about to start ICSI treatment when I managed to fall pregnant naturally. I took a test more just to rule pregnancy out as I hadn't been feeling great that week, I didn't actually think it would come up positive though as I'd taken so many tests in the past. It was such a great feeling and even though today has made it feel a bit more real, I still can't quite believe it.

Symptom wise I feel I've had a taste of them all and it changes every few days though nothing too extreme. For the first few weeks it was mostly period kind of cramps then it moved onto nausea which hasn't really left. I think I gag at least once every day at something if not more. I've went off most food, nothing seems to be satisfying me at all and I feel I'm just eating to make sure I'm actually getting food in me but then I'll wake up during the night sometimes starving. Hoping I get my appetite and love for food back soon!

Sorry I've rambled on a bit!

Yvonne1988 · 05/08/2019 21:41

@thankful16 welcome :) I'm about the same time as you but it's just a guess til I get a scan. I'm a cook and the smell of raw red meat makes me heave now. Not good when I'm in work! I'm on my 2nd but feels like I'm doing it all over again for the first time it's been that long

FlipKat · 05/08/2019 21:47

@Keyboard91 @Jesskir89 @avocadoincident - thanks, I am so relieved to say the scan went well today! I was really fearing the worst as the bleed yesterday was heavy and I've been spotting since but everything looks normal and we saw the heartbeat which was amazing :-) They think the bleeding may be my cervix as the scan probe started it off again a bit.

thankful16 · 05/08/2019 21:47

@Yvonne1988 Thank you Smile Good to know we are around the same time along. Oh I don't envy you working in a kitchen. I can barely stand to be in my kitchen now when anything is cooking. I've left my partner to fend for himself. I used to do most of the cooking but I can't face it now so leave him to it lol!

FlipKat · 05/08/2019 21:51

@avocadoincident - poor you being poorly for so long! Glad you are seeing the doctor. Hope you feel better soon x

Yvonne1988 · 05/08/2019 21:54

@thankful16 I'm not that bad with most food really. I only went off chocolate. I more can't be bothered to make anything I'm so tired. I put BBQ sauce on everything though. My first ever craving. Didn't have any last time.

Yvonne1988 · 05/08/2019 21:56

@FlipKat that's great news. I hope I get the same this week, theyre going to phone me for an appointment tomorrow.

avocadoincident · 05/08/2019 21:58

@FlipKat that's great great news!!!

avocadoincident · 05/08/2019 21:58

@FlipKat did you get a picture?

Jesskir89 · 05/08/2019 22:00

Welcome @thankful16 I was in a very similar situation I was on chlomid and 2 months off ivf it's an amazing feeling to see those 2 lines. My DH made me take 7 tests just to be sure! Welcome @mumof3plusbean 2 of each would be good! @flipkat so relieved for you :) fantastic news. Can't wait for my scan on Friday to hopefully see something this time and not have to have another internal!

SLT90 · 05/08/2019 22:04

@barnyb
