Hi ladies,
Excited to say that today I got my BFP and am due 1st January 2020!
This will be my third baby but my partners first. I have two children aged 9 & 7 from a previous relationship.
Anyone else due around New Year? Sticky beans to all! 😀💗💙

@LizzieZara @Maybenextmonth I got my 3+ on the CB at exactly 5 weeks, I was reassured for all of one day then back to worry!

Maybenextmonth · 04/05/2019 08:24

Thanks ladies! I'm taking a break from testing. Good to hear flying is fine. I was a bit worried about flying on Tuesday. I assume you can still lay in the sun, just be aware of overheating. Maybe don't do it as much as you normally would and try and stay cool.

Thatsanicepear · 04/05/2019 09:07

Looking for some reassurance! I stupidly did another ic this morning and it's slightly fainter than one I did yesterday. I know I need to stop testing but after 18 months ttc and 1 miscarriage it's hard to stop the worrying. Do you reckon it might just be the level of dye in the test? It's definitely still positive. Thanks and sorry for being paranoid!

Maybenextmonth · 04/05/2019 09:11

@Thatsanicepear I don't really know, however from my testing I think I've learnt not to do the cheapies, and that they can be quite inconsistent. I'm not one to talk, but try not to worry and perhaps do a CB or FRER tomorrow to reassure you?

Kinsters · 04/05/2019 09:28

There's so much variation in HCG concentration and pee dilution plus the tests might have different amounts of dye etc so try not to worry if lines don't look dark enough.

I'm absolutely shattered today. Not too nauseous or anything else, just really tired.

mumsey2be · 04/05/2019 10:24

Hi everyone please can i join you - we are due on New Year's Day after a donor embryo transfer. First BFP in 2 years and nervous! MMC two years ago and just IVF hell ever since. Any advice for a first timer?

Avocuddles · 04/05/2019 10:28

Hi! Had something of a very pleasant surprise yesterday. We have recently been referred to the fertility clinic. We have being TTC for a year but my periods since coming off contraception were very light and very infrequent (at least 40 days) and I had never achieved a positive ovulatIon test so both I and my GP had assumed things weren’t going to work out. As I’m 35 I was fortunate enough to be referred on pretty quickly but literally the evening after I had posted back my forms to the fertility clinic to kick off treatment this happened......

Wow Avo that's amazing! Congrats and welcome!

DaisyMay25 · 04/05/2019 10:37

Hi @mumsey2be also due New Year's Day and also an ivf baby! I know it's an anxious time but trey taking it day by day. Do you have your viability scan soon?

@Avocuddles fantastic news!! Sod's law though haha

Thought I was feeling better but my nausea is in full swing today, thankfully haven't been sick yet. I'm feeling more positive though!

How's everyone doing?
Some must be approaching 6 weeks next week, half way through first trimester!!

Chantalle3 · 04/05/2019 10:43

@Kinsters after a good 9 hours sleep last night, I've already had a nap this morning!

Congratulations all the BFP's. @Avocuddles maybe you had taken the pressure off a bit by considering another option!

@mumsey2b I'm a first timer too so no previous experience. Other than try to keep busy so you don't think about it too much until you have a scan but at the same time take it easy! Other than that, still learning it all too!

Avocuddles · 04/05/2019 10:51

Thanks everyone! There’s something ironic about conceiving the month at which we’d pretty much given up on the idea of getting pregnant without medical intervention. Regardless of what happens it’s exciting to know that I’m not infertile (though feel slightly guilty about a very boozy day last weekend...). I haven’t really had any symptoms other than feeling a bit hormonal over the past few days (which I assumed was sign of imminent period combined with stressful week at work) and some cramping which I assumed meant that AF was on her way. I’ve been taking tests intermittently for a year (weekly each time my cycle lasted longer than 28 days) and was only doing it as a matter of routine, so seeing an undeniable strong second line I was pretty much in shock!
Booked GP appointment for next Friday. I’m a rollercoaster of emotions today, super excited but also scared about the possibility of things going wrong, and also pondering what to do with work as I was planning on applying for an internal move next week. Lots of thoughts spinning round my head and can’t even have a relaxing Saturday night glass of wine (not just this week but for (hopefully) another eight months!). What do you all recommend to help with relaxation at this nerve wracking early stage??

Millsss · 04/05/2019 10:55

Glad your feeling better today @maybenextmonth :)

Congrats @mumsey2b I'm always a first timer so just taking it week by week and making sure I'm staying positive and away from Google haha!!

Congrats aswell to you @avocuddlesnsuch an amazing story!

And congrats @daisymay i will be 6 weeks next saturday, so excited!

I'm shattered constantly, got a painful back today aswell which is fun, I clean a local pub in the mornings an can safely say I had to take alot of breaks today haha!

Hope everyone has a lovely day:) xxx

Millsss · 04/05/2019 10:58

Just seen your reply @avocuddles! Honestly to stay away from googling every symptom, enjoy every day, i recently starting doing meditation in the mornings and just before bed, really relaxes me! Also reading in my free time helps keep my mind of the worry! X

Herewegoagain19 · 04/05/2019 13:12

Awh Avo,I especially love hearing these stories and I think it is quite common for people to conceiveonve that pressure is off, same happened my family member after trying for 2yrs and had IVF appointment booked.

I went back to bed for 2hrs coz only had about 4hrs sleep last night.i wasn't feeling tired, just was pottering about he house and decided to chill!!when I went to bed last night (after 2am) my boobs were sore when I took my bra off, kinda nice having a little symptom!

Speaking of dates I actually don't know LMP date I was thinking about it more last night and realised it was have been around 24thMarch as I had a smear on 21st so I know I didn't have it then...and when I booked my smear I think I remember remembering that i prob should have got it about 5-7 days earlier for the recommended time but i couldnt with work!!
My head is not getting a rest I'm an overthinker anyway and my mind thinks everything and is constantly is planning mode be it for a holiday or birthday or Christmas!!!
Conversation has been strange this week, the kids brought up wanting a baby brother or sister (I'm surprised the eldest didn't cop I didn't say noway like I usually do)!!!There has been lots of new baby talk around lately between colleagues, friends and family being due!

Herewegoagain19 · 04/05/2019 13:14

Sorry I do have to reread some stuff after I post coz I forget! @Avo are you still interested in moving internally at work?Is it a job you can still dowhile pregnant? If so go for it...i presune u get to start once you get it and then it will be there after maternity leave?

dumdumdeedum · 04/05/2019 13:21

So it's really pointless to keep testing. I understand the temptation and I have done the clear blue weeks indicator ones in the past. But the foetus can stop developing and you will still test positive. I actually got a 3 weeks plus on a clear blue, but on that pregnancy it had stopped before this milestone. I just didn't know that at the time. But a later scan showed when it stopped. My body held onto it for another 6 weeks, before I had any pain or bleeding.

Even after a miscarriage you will usually get a positive pregnancy test for 2 weeks after whilst it all gets out of your system.

So all I am doing is trying to hope for the best, I'm very nervous but excited too. I hope everything is ok for everyone on the thread too. I just feel there is a lot of misinformation around miscarriage or missed/ delayed miscarriage. I honestly didn't understand it myself before I went through it.

Sorry to be a downer .. x

MrsM18 · 04/05/2019 13:47

@dumdumdeedum not a downer at all, I actually found that really helpful. Thank you x

RudyRoo · 04/05/2019 13:53

Hi ladies 👋🏼
I'd love to join you on here for some chat along the way, I got my BFP on Friday and am still in shock! It's my first pregnancy so feeling excited but also a bit like "holy crap!" I think I will be due around 10th Jan. This was my test at 15DPO. 😊

BFP - Due Jan 2020
Bubblebubble123 · 04/05/2019 15:21

Thanks @dumdumdeedum. And I agree, testing is pretty pointless. I tested a fairly strong positive for my previous pregnancy on the Monday (at 6 week), started spotting on the Tuesday and miscarried on the Friday.

SleepingStandingUp · 04/05/2019 15:22

Eek, can I tentatively join, I got this today, 12 dpo so pretty much first time I could test! Been trying two years, 2nd month of clomid. Ds1 also took nearly 2years to conceive naturally.
Cautiously excited

BFP - Due Jan 2020
RudyRoo · 04/05/2019 15:49

@SleepingStandingUp great strong line! Massive congratulations. We'd been trying for 8 months so I can imagine how happy you are after 2 years!

Chantalle3 · 04/05/2019 16:40

@dumdumdeedum sorry to hear about your loss, that must have been really hard. I know personally it still feels very surreal that I'm pregnant so part of testing is reminding myself it's real. It would always be in my mind that a positive doesn't necessarily mean everything is absolutely perfect, but I think we are just all in a bit of a waiting game until we are at a point we get scans. First pregnancy here so I'll 'fess up that I'm overexcited, part of the fun and the rollercoaster I guess 😊 thanks for sharing your story with us!

Avocuddles · 04/05/2019 16:43

@herewegoagain19 thanks for the advice! Yes I could definitely do the job pregnant and would hopefully be able to go back to the same role after leave, just lots to be thinking about all at once! I think I’ll regret it if I don’t at least apply though.

So exciting to see lots of other BFPs on here! I’m still in shock 24 hours later!

Kinsters · 05/05/2019 03:10

Small amount of spotting for me this morning which is how my previous MC and chemicals started. I had such a good feeling about this one but it seems like its going to end like the others did. TTC is so shit.

Herewegoagain19 · 05/05/2019 04:12

@kinsters sending you positive thoughts and hoping xfor the best for you xx
