Lots of movement here now at 19+1, especially when my son (nearly 13 months old) is sitting on my belly 🙂 Somehow he knows there’s something in there and keeps trying to poke it!

He’s also just started trying to climb on everything so I really have my hands full now!

SunshineSophia · 16/05/2019 20:42

@HarryHarry - I'm 19+1 too! Grin

My little chicken nugget is a little wriggler! I first started feeling movement around week 17. I did have a a little scare last week where I hadn't felt baby move for 2 days, but after worrying OH about it, the little nugget finally made its' presence known. I'm a little chubby so I just think baby got a little lost inside one of my many crevices!

Hello everyone,

Just discovered this thread and had a read through and would love to join. I'm 18+4 today. Due date is the 13th Oct. It's my second baby. My eldest is 19 months. This pregnancy has been very different to my last but mostly going well I think! So excited for my next scan in just under 2 weeks. Hoping to find out what we are having as we did last time and it made preparing seem easier somehow. So far it has been easy to not buy anything as it feel a so far away still and we already have a loft full of stuff! Also in that funny midway point where my normal clothes don't fit well but maternity stuff other than jeans is a bit too baggy still. Will be pleased when I fit my old maternity clothes again soon. They are so comfy!

Woolly17 · 17/05/2019 06:35

I'm carrying low again... So am trying to keep my expectations realistic for my scan today. Might be poor visibility again...

YorkshireIndie · 19/05/2019 17:29

Here is a question: if the baby kicks exactly where your hand is - is your hand feeling the kick or are you from the inside?

Woolly17 · 20/05/2019 15:30

@YorkshireIndie
Both...

HarryHarry · 30/05/2019 01:56

Found out today that we are having a girl! Couldn’t be happier!

Jodie6 · 30/05/2019 08:29

@HarryHarry congratulations, we are having a girl too. How far are you? I'm 20 weeks 1 day now. Feels nice to reach the half way point.

HarryHarry · 30/05/2019 12:32

I’m 21+2 Grin

sw2102 · 30/05/2019 13:36

Had our scan too and this time we are having a boy! Also have to go back for another scan as they couldn't get all the pictures of the heart either. Pleased I get to go again really!

sw2102 · 30/05/2019 13:37

Ok I thought I had posted already but seems there's multiple October 2019 threads and I am getting mixed up! Blush

newbabyyy2019 · 30/05/2019 17:56

Hello ladies. I had my 20 week scan today and they said the femur bone is measuring just below the scale which she said is in the 3% or something.. I'm just worrying myself now. The femur is measuring two weeks behind and just wondered if anyone else has experienced this or knows anyone that has?

faelavie · 30/05/2019 19:18

Hi all, had my 20 week scan yesterday and everything went well, just thought I'd post a pic here. :) It's not as clear as my 12 week photo I thought! However I love looking at his/her little face!
Movement started around a week or so ago which is lovely to feel. Baby is going particularly mental in there today, lots of flutterings and pokings!

Had my 20wk scan today. Baby was a wriggler. Been feeling a movement since about 14/16wks. Brought this today. Felt the need to buy something for the baby ☺️

Hows everyone getting on?

Beeseeinya · 13/06/2019 14:06

Up and down really! Been making lots of progress on nursery and buying the necessary things, sorting out the house junk. But health wise... I feel ruined! Just exhausted. I've started to feel very out of breath so have to walk slowly, and any kind of traffic fumes leaves me heaving. Yuck!

How is everyone else doing? I feel like it's a bit boring at the moment, probably because I have no get up and go to make the most of 2nd trimester.

faelavie · 14/06/2019 16:05

I'll be 23 weeks tomorrow.... Really struggling with tiredness. Yesterday I almost collapsed at work, I would've hit the deck if I hadn't have recognised it and sat down with the window open and ate some biscuits... The GP is meant to be ringing me today but I doubt they'll offer any advice I'm not already aware of ("that's pregnancy, deal with it"). But I'm finding work a big struggle at the moment and it's only going to get worse as the weeks go on and I get bigger.

Doesn't really help having preggo friends tell me how amazing they feel etc, just makes me feel that I'm bad at this and I feel horribly guilty.

NMCB · 15/06/2019 18:55

Feeling really exhausted also. I had been feeling fine then this week I'm so sleepy and not wanting to get up. Today I was already to go out with my husband and burst out crying.....I think hormones have gone a bit crazy!

Found out we're having a little girl this week which is super exciting though!

Hope everyone's well
X

Just tried and feel the need to sit down more. We have been invited to a wedding when the baby is four months old and it is adult only. Feel a bit mixed about leaving the baby. Anyone got any ideas? Hopefully going to be breastfeeding

HarryHarry · 20/06/2019 15:45

Same here with the exhaustion! My poor 14 m/o boy has a rubbish mummy at the moment, I can hardly be bothered to play with him because it means crawling about on the floor for hours! I want to do other things while he naps but again I’m just too tired!

@YorkshireIndie I haven’t been able to leave mine yet, over a year later! The longest we’ve been apart (since he came home from the hospital) is when a friend sat in the corridor with him while me and my husband went in for an ultrasound for the new baby in the next room. And I’m not even breastfeeding - I just miss him! (He’s going to nursery part-time in September though so I can focus on the new baby a bit).

If you are just worried about being separated because you’re breastfeeding, pump some milk for the baby before you go and freeze it, then bring your pump to the wedding and make sure the venue has a fridge to keep the milk in.

GinMama1 · 22/06/2019 15:47

@YorkshireIndie I'd be reluctant to commit at this stage. I wouldn't have been able to leave my 4mo all day for a wedding. Tbh I think babies should be ok at a wedding but I know not everyone thinks that

secretlyhermione · 22/06/2019 16:20

Hi all, nice to see the October group partly resurrected! I'm doing good, 23 weeks now and the bump is growing! It's definitely starting to feel heavier which is a new feeling and am waking up lots at night especially to go to the loo. Other than that have been quite fortunate and am enjoying the second trimester! Nesting has just about kicked in so am pottering around the house this weekend cleaning out cupboards that have needed doing so for weeks! Also bought my first baby item last week - a baby gro :) not finding out the gender so looking forward to the October surprise!

Beeseeinya · 24/06/2019 00:00

Can't decide if it would be worse to give birth in a heatwave, or to have to do 3rd trimester through one. Looks like 2nd is on the cards for us lot!
I'm lucky that my house has a couple of cool spots, and I hope any real heat holds off until August when I'm stopping work and the commute!
Very British to moan about weather, I know. But I grumpy from being chewed to bits by mozzies this week even though I'm using repellant. And I've been on flood watch (house flooded 3 years ago in a freak storm, came close again last week).

Frizzy1986 · 24/06/2019 07:08

Im 26 weeks tomorrow and am shattered. Lots of tossing and turning at night due to hip/back pain so haven't had a full night sleep in a while. Handed in my leave request last week and will be working until 37 weeks. Hoping this one stays inside longer than dd (37+4).
Ive been feeling like a bad mum too as can't be on the floor rolling around but dd (she's 5) is constantly telling me how much fun she is having with the "easier" games we are creating.
I also feel massive and people are constantly asking if there's 2 in there. I'm not sure I'm that much bigger than last time now. I think it just appeared a lot earlier but has tailed off a bit now.
I'm having awful stress at work with staff having left, people going on holiday etc and being expected to cover tasks outside my remit whilst management also telling me that I have no give on my own deadlines. I told my midwife and she said if it continues to go to the gp and get signed off as its more important that I look after myself and baby.
Baby is super wriggly and you can often see my tummy moving. Very different experience to last time when I had an anterior placenta and hardly felt much movement at all.
I'm also starting to look at birth options. There's an open day at the hospital in a few weeks so we'll be going to take a look at the midwife unit as it wasn't there when we had dd and the one we went to (stand alone) is closed now. I'm moving more towards home birth at the moment but people seem to be quite negative about it and dh seems unkeen. I've sent him some info to read.
We have a lot to do house wise as are still sorting the spare room prior to decorating so that dd can move into it. Her bed arrives at end of July and so I think we need to start doing more weekday evenings to be ready for it but I'm just so tired and achy.

YorkshireIndie · 24/06/2019 16:56

When are people looking to buy the big items I.e. pram, Oct etc? Going to be 24 weeks tomorrow which feels like a milestone in itself.
Thank you everyone for the advice on the wedding. Going to accept and then have a conversation re baby once s/he is here. Can always drop out nearer the day
