I am sure I felt my son last year quite early on if I don't feel anything soon I am going to think it is at the front this time with my 3 year old it was at the front and didn't feel him till it was quite late on

I asked about my placenta as had anterior last time. Posterior this time which I am happier about.
Anyone know much about the appointments? I was told at my scan that I'd have a consultant at 16 weeks (due to a previous tear) and then midwife at 28 (because it's baby #2)
My consultant has been postponed until over 18 weeks now and I said to my friend about it and she said she had a midwife at 16 weeks and a consultant. Should I have both? The midwife at the scan implied it was one or the other but now I'm worried I'm going to miss an appointment.

fluffyunicorns86 · 04/04/2019 23:00

I have a scan at 16 weeks so will see if I can find out then. @frizzy1986 I have consultant care due to my BMI, my still birth and now my late loss also I had pre eclampsia with my eldest daughter. I see consultant at about 16 weeks I have got midwife at 15 weeks still waiting for my consultant appointment to come through

givememarmite · 05/04/2019 06:02

Morning everyone! Thanks for the new thread, just checking in Smile

HayzCo · 05/04/2019 06:26

Hi all, I’m due 1st Oct. great to be here!

I spotted on my notes that my placenta is low anterior, so not good, but I understand most move up by 20 weeks. I think it’s then that you get informed if anything to really be aware of. The dr didn’t mention it though! We DTD last night and I’ve just read that sex is discouraged by some drs for women with low lying placenta, so that’ll worry me all weekend now!

kelly14 · 05/04/2019 07:30

I’m due 20th Oct according to private scan I had Tuesday, but have actual scan on 10th so not long to wait.
They sais I have anterior placenta again with I had with my just turned 1 year old.
It made no difference to how early I felt movements i just felt the kicks more at the sides rather than in the front of belly.

Was never told to avoid sex last time.
I am high risk to due to prev blood clot ( so
Will be on clexane again from 26 weeks to 6 weeks postnatally) and 2 c sections and I saw consultant in addition to all my midwife appointments.
My notes tell you all the times you will see midwife, have scans etc.
We get extra scan at 36 weeks as standard at our hospital.
Ill post picture of what it shows in my notes.

Hi everyone! I'm 10+3 today and feeling excited that I've made it this far after 2 miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy, but also really anxious about my 12 week scan on 17th April and also about the risk of chromosomal abnormalities (both DH and I are older parents so we are high risk). @Secretlifeofme picking up from last thread.

Sounds like you've had a tough journey here too....till on October it'll be worth it!

My anxiety will definitely reduce when I feel more pregnant, i said to my DH I'd love a scan everyday just to check in on bean. Obviously that's excessive so for now I'll wait til 17th

Morning all and thanks for the new thread. I asked about placentas as my sister had placenta pravia twice (2nd and 3rd pregnancies) and spent a fair bit of time in hospital with her 3rd - from around 25 weeks till delivery at 36+1!! My midwife said that there’s no family likelihood of it happening to me but is random. At the scan last week I asked the sonographer about placenta position and was told they don’t check it till 20 weeks as it can move quite a lot as you grow in the 2nd trimester and it can move either upwards or downwards.
