Hi!!

This week I have taken 4 pregnancy tests, all positive. I’m afraid to get too excited because it is so early. I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow. I have no other signs of pregnancy so it doesn’t feel real yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

First pregnancy, so many questions but I can’t ask friends or family yet.

I’ve done a bit of googling and now I’m worried: a few days ago (before I knew I was pregnant) i had a sharp pain in the centre of my stomach, I came over really hot twice and was then sick. I didn’t feel sick but knew I was going to be sick, the pain lasted for about an hour and hasn’t returned. Does this sound like an eptopic pregnancy? I’ve felt fine since - can anyone help please?

forevercurious · 21/04/2019 12:40

Sorry just realised I’ve posted on the wrong thread but never mind :) I’m currently 6 weeks and 3 days pregnant with my first baby : EDD on the 12th of December. Found out I’m pregnant on Thursday afternoon so haven’t contacted the midwife yet as it’s bank holiday!

1990carey · 21/04/2019 17:43

@forevercurious if your worried I would go and see your GP and tell them what has happened as they will know best. However I would reccomend staying away from Google! It always comes up with the worst possible situation and makes your panic. Obviously be careful and if you are worried and something didn't feel right see a doctor, but stay clear of Google as it does more harm than good sometimes!

1990carey · 21/04/2019 17:44

@forevercurious and @CCourtnell congratulations!

MamaGeordie · 21/04/2019 17:57

Tentatively posting after receiving my BFP today. EDD 29th December and it would be DC3. You'd think I'd know what I was doing by now but here I am, forum seearching/googling every last detail! Last pregnancy ended in MC so I'm a tad anxious but hanging onto hope that this is meant to be.

AysLon · 21/04/2019 18:11

@MamaGeordie omg I'm due 29 Dec as well! I found out yesterday with a FRER, I think I conceived 9th April as that was O. This is my first and no idea what is to come, I know it's super early days but I am chuffed!

forevercurious · 21/04/2019 18:46

Thanks for replying @1990carey it’s so hard not to google. As it’s bank holiday the GP is closed and I don’t know if it’s worth bothering out of hours with - as I haven’t experienced it since and feel fine. But as it’s my first pregnancy I don’t know if it feels right / wrong.

Shelbybear · 21/04/2019 19:25

@Kiki061190 That must have been a shock! Congratulations, how exciting. Did you have any inclination? I've heard you get double the symptoms with twins.

Kiki061190 · 21/04/2019 19:37

@Shelbybear the only thing we knew was twins ran in my other half’s family! My symptoms have been ok so far just cramping and a nauseous feeling but no actually sickness, sore back and boobs as well but nothing that would have made me think it! Back in 2 weeks to check on the second one to see if we can see a heartbeat cause it was hiding right at the back of my womb 😂

Shelbybear · 21/04/2019 20:54

@Kiki061190 That really must have been a big shock. I always assume you would have some sort of felling. I hope there is not 2 in there when I get my 12wk scan 😂 Is it your first? Identical twins too, how lovely!

jinglybell · 21/04/2019 21:49

Hello all, got a bfp today at 13dpo giving me a due date of 31 December!

I've just turned 40 and have one child already, a daughter who will be 20 in May Shock

Only my dp knows, we won't tell anyone else until I've had my first scan.

I didn't expect to get pregnant as i have adenomyosis so it was a bit of a shock!

Kiki061190 · 21/04/2019 22:01

@Shelbybear yeah this is our first and we had discussed trying towards the end of this year so it wasn’t even a planned pregnancy 😂 what are the chances! There is a chance the second one can not take and it can disappear and the other will still be ok but hope for two healthy ones when I go back on the 3rd of May!

Sounds strange but my partners mum brought up twins the week before I went for my scan and I had this weird feeling....

@jinglybell congrats! Amazing news! A new year baby 👶🏼

Thund4rcat · 21/04/2019 23:03

@jinglybell congratulations! I also have adeno, but was only diagnosed in January after a failed IVF cycle. This one has stuck so far!

Ferii · 21/04/2019 23:57

For anyone with morning sickness, I have it very badly and was advised to take vitamin B6 25mg 2-3 x a day by my obstetrician. It has made a huge difference and is completely safe for mums and embryos. I can't recommend it highly enough. I bought it over the counter as 100mg tablets and used a pill cutter to chop it in to quarters.

Does anyone have any recommendations for books for dad's? My DH wants to read something about babies and being a parents but not sure what to buy.

MamaGeordie · 22/04/2019 00:56

@AysLon Yeah to due date twins! Grin my other half doesn't know yet. Going to wait a few more days and think of a nice way to tell him. Our previous children were beautiful surprises but this one was planned so want to do it in a nice way than saying, 'erm...I think I'm pregnant...' any ideas?
Good tip on the morning sickness. I've had HG both pregnancies as soon as week 6 hits so I'll be getting prepared this time toward it off. Thank you!

AysLon · 22/04/2019 06:59

@MamaGeordie LOL I'm not one for good ideas, my OH is away so the news was revealed on whats App! Ha ha ha not ideal

Sianii · 22/04/2019 07:59

@MamaGeordie i found out I was pregnant the morning my partner was due back home after a week away ski-ing. So when he returned I knew he would instantly go to fuss our two dogs. So I put a tag on each of them one saying “you’re going to be a daddy” the other said “All FIVE of us missed you”.

He came in and skim read the “you’re going to be a daddy” and thought it said “i missed you daddy” so he did not intially pick it up. 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ Eventually I had to say read the tag again, the look of shock on his face was priceless.

I googled a few ideas that morning and one thing that came up is you can buy a scratchcard that looks normal but when you scratch it, it says ‘we’re having a baby’.

mininionsteve · 22/04/2019 10:08

Hi! May I join in? According to my Flo app I'm 6+3 with baby number two so due around 14-16 Dec. Keep jumping from completely chilled about it all to ahhh wtf am I doing will this wreck our little dynamic how will we cope and then straight back to being excited.

Had a mmc the very first time and now have my DS.

Wish the scan would arrive faster so I k ow all's welll!!

Congratulations everyone! Smile

IHD83 · 22/04/2019 10:11

@Ferii Some friends recommended me the book ‘What to expect when you are expecting’, this one is about pregnancy. And there is the continuation which is ‘What to expect the first year’, this one is a guidance for first parents about the first year of a baby. There are also more books about the second and third year. I bought the first year one, but didn’t read too much yet. Have a look in internet 😉

December2018 · 22/04/2019 10:13

Hey guys not been on for a bit Ive been so sick! This heat is wiping me out 😩
Anyone having early cravings?
Mine started really early with my little boy at about 8 weeks I NEEDED marsbars all the time it got so bad I had to buy them in bulk and have them in my bedside table for the midnight munchies 😂🙀
This time... i woke up yesterday and this morning with a ridiculous urge for sausages... like cooked but cold 😂😂

Ferii · 22/04/2019 10:22

@IHD83 Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll look in to them. Smile

Pip231018 · 22/04/2019 10:52

@December2018 Same for me, sausages! But cocktail sausages. I may as well have set up camp at the fridge I was there that often. I'm really glad my OH ate them before I ate a pack of 70.

Aims4488 · 22/04/2019 12:44

Hi all

Hoping to join you all here Smile took a test on Saturday and got my bfp

Currently getting an edd from online calculations of 28th December, feeling slightly anxious at the moment as in 2017 we had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks but keeping positive thinking & remembering everything happens for a reason.

megamouse · 22/04/2019 13:20

Hi all. Very excited I'm pregnant with number 2 (my daughter is 9!)
I'm due 28th December.

Nervous/ excited.

TheLetterOfTheLawTheLetter · 22/04/2019 14:53

Hi all, I'm expecting number 2 around 7th December. Had a private early scan today, all looking good and exciting to see a heartbeat so fingers crossed. I'm just feeling so rubbish, I had none of this for ds1 (18months old). I have a light permanent headache, feel constantly nauseous- basically feel permanently hungover! And I have the worst cold that I cannot shift. All worth it of course but.....aaaargh! Confused
