Hiya peeps,

DP and I have once again had a discussion over spelling of LO's name...when he gets here lol.

We have settled on Konor Michal, Konor is my way of spelling it but dp says if it being spelt with a K then we should spell it Konnor, I say Konor.

Michal he won't even attempt to judge me on as it was my dads name....pronounced Mehal it is Polish.

Which way would you choose? I prefer Konor and dp Konnor...

And I don't think it makes the OP look stupid, it is a variation of Connor.

muppetgirl · 07/07/2007 21:30

lol tripbot!

Just fed up with calling 'oliver' and half the bl**dy streets' kids turn round.

TaylorsMummy · 07/07/2007 21:31

Coner? thats not even the same name is it? that would be like cone,as in ice cream cone, wouldn't it?

Twiglett · 07/07/2007 21:31

Coner would be pronounced Cone-er though .. that's slightly cruel

TheLadyEvenstar · 07/07/2007 21:31

Squirdle,
I am sticking with it I only asked 1 or 2 N's lol

You are joking aintcha?

Both scream 'CHAV'

muppetgirl · 07/07/2007 21:32

well you do like fired earth moondog

tribpot · 07/07/2007 21:32

Isn't it a variation from 2003, and from a country with - if we are being entirely honest - a bit of a spelling problem? (Also cf Colin Powell). So a bit like saying P Diddy is a name. With all due respect to baby Diddies out there!

moondog · 07/07/2007 21:34

Oliver a very Fired Earth sort of name Muppet!

I know all my choices scream 'middle class ponce' and yep, that's what I am!

muppetgirl · 07/07/2007 21:34

hijack (sorry)
moondog -it is a bespoke solid wood kitchen with wine cooler and solid oak worktops. Fired earth tiles and amtico -ash- flooring through kitchen, utility and hall.

Cannnnnnoooooottttt wait am so excited!

sparklygothkat · 07/07/2007 21:34

pmsl at Coner! Serciously (sp??. brain is going to mush tonight) that was how it was spelt. I chose Connor as it looked 'right' IFKWIM.

muppetgirl · 07/07/2007 21:35

Ds2 is going to be called Henry William -very poncy!!!

sparklygothkat · 07/07/2007 21:36

we have no names for this baby, over halfway, and still can't agree...

MrsBadger · 07/07/2007 21:37

Knorr?

tribpot · 07/07/2007 21:37

No no muppet. Ronok Muppet is much more the thing. Incidentally, I have a Henry William in the family too. He is (admittedly) a nightmare child from hell but probably not because of the name.

Wishing baby Konnor/Konor/Ronok all the very best.

moondog · 07/07/2007 21:37

OMG Muppet.
Sounds divine.

Twinklemegan · 07/07/2007 21:37

I just found a website which showed the meanings of these names:
Connor - lover of hounds
Konnor - meaning unknown
Konor - meaning unknown

Which says to me that the "k" variations are recent.

Now if I'd had a baby girl, I was going to call her Elinor - not the usual spelling but an OLDER variation. I would never use a more recent variation than the accepted spelling because I'm afraid that does scream misspelling.

moondog · 07/07/2007 21:38

How about Kyal???

moondog · 07/07/2007 21:38

'lover of hounds'?????

Absolutely piss myself laughing

tribpot · 07/07/2007 21:38

Twinkle - Elinor is lovely.

Twiglett · 07/07/2007 21:39

am still LOLing at Cone-er still

SquirdleAKACandDsmummy · 07/07/2007 21:39

TLE, good for you. Your choice. He will soon get used to saying Konnor with a K.

Caleb's name is often spelt wrong anyway even though it is the correct spelling and it's spelt as it sounds! His old nursery used to spell it Celeb!! Drove me
mad!

TaylorsMummy · 07/07/2007 21:39

lol

Twiglett · 07/07/2007 21:39

still

sparklygothkat · 07/07/2007 21:39
