Hiya peeps,

DP and I have once again had a discussion over spelling of LO's name...when he gets here lol.

We have settled on Konor Michal, Konor is my way of spelling it but dp says if it being spelt with a K then we should spell it Konnor, I say Konor.

Michal he won't even attempt to judge me on as it was my dads name....pronounced Mehal it is Polish.

Which way would you choose? I prefer Konor and dp Konnor...

oh Awen .. nobody is saying they don't like the name .. Connor is a fine name .. people are commenting that edgy / incorrect spelling has connotations

MrsScavo · 07/07/2007 22:13

Konnor doesn't look wrong to me, it looks Scandanavian.

sparklygothkat · 07/07/2007 22:14

Connor is a mighty fine name!! (biase (sp?),of course)

MamaMaiasaura · 07/07/2007 22:14

yeah I do twiglett. I dont think it is appropriate or very nice to be posting like this about a name that excited and expantant parents are hoping to name their child. She had said that they have chosen the name and where just deciding the spelling of it.

Twiglett · 07/07/2007 22:15

exactly

"deciding the spelling of it"

MamaMaiasaura · 07/07/2007 22:15

that too me ages to type - my brain isnt at full power now

TaylorsMummy · 07/07/2007 22:15

but people will comment if the spelling is wrong which it plainly is

MamaMaiasaura · 07/07/2007 22:15

well the options are Konor or Konnor. That is the choices she has, not any of the other varients.

TheLadyEvenstar · 07/07/2007 22:16

we were simply deciding on 1 or 2 N's nothing else. The K is staying.... we like it!

OP posts:
MamaMaiasaura · 07/07/2007 22:16

taylorsmummy - i suggest you google as it is a form or the spelling of the name.

Just like Katherine, Catherine, Kathryn etc

TaylorsMummy · 07/07/2007 22:16

i don't think it matters whether you have one or two n's tbh, it's still spelt wrong

MrsFish · 07/07/2007 22:17

Well it would seem that you have your answer then... whether it is spelt with a 'C' or a 'K' the general consensus seems to be two 'N's.

MamaMaiasaura · 07/07/2007 22:17

Grrr - obviously google eludes you Taylorsmummy. Btw is Taylor th name of your child

Twiglett · 07/07/2007 22:19

you know that ghoti spells fish?

EnidJane · 07/07/2007 22:19

I don't for one minute think you are being bitchy! You are obviously just having a laugh. Nothing wrong with it as long as TLE doesn't mind!

MrsFish · 07/07/2007 22:21

Twiglett - Yes I did

Should I change to Mrs Ghoti?

ProjectIcarus · 07/07/2007 22:21

Vaunda do you expect a mumsnet kicking when you post? I am sure you have been soundly trounced on a number of occasions......

TheMild,

I have made a choice, if others (not aiming at you) can't understand it was a simple question of one or two N's I can't be held responsible for them.

Konnor is what we will call our son simply because we like it spelt that way.

MrsScavo · 07/07/2007 22:21

Taylors Mummy- you think Konnor is spelt wrong? So why are you Taylors Mummy and not Tailors Mummy? Over time language, spelling and names evolve.
