Morning all!
I was wondering if I could get some advice please (or be told I’m just being paranoid which would be equally helpful!!). I’ve been taking regular tests over the last week and as much as the line is getting darker it still seems quite light compared to other pics on here at the same week (I’m 5+2 today). Took the CB weeks test yesterday and it did say 2-3 weeks but I kind of expected it to show 3+. I’m just worried that this combined with the light line could mean my HCG is too low, or not increasing as it should? I’m going for a 6wk scan on Sunday but that seems sooooo far away! Should I call the GP and ask for a blood test as well or am I overreacting? My doctors aren’t exactly the most helpful and I genuinely feel guilty for wasting NHS time so I’ve been putting it off! Confused

I’ve also been feeling really emotional. Had a little cry at 7:45 this morning as got into work and someone had sent me an arsey email Grin. I’m not even 6 weeks!!!

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 11/03/2019 08:30

Hi Hayley. I can imagine that’s really stressful for you. Hopefully the fact the lines are getting darker is a good sign. I know it’s REALLY hard but can you avoid testing tomorrow and try the day after, then it should be clearer whether it’s getting darker. This is such a nerve wracking stage. I’m afraid I doubt the doctors will be able to do or say much at this stage either Flowers. Hopefully the scan will confirm whether you’re pregnant. I appreciate it feels like a long time to wait though!

LKRJM · 11/03/2019 08:35

Hi @Hayley89 I think I commented when you last posted, the cheap tests take ages to get dark for me. It also depends on the sensitivity and when you implanted, I definitely felt my implantation so know it was early - around 6dpo but most it’s 9-12 so technically you might of had less time for your HCG to rise. I really wouldn’t worry to much if a CB is giving you the right dates as they’re more reliable! Try to relax and enjoy it Flowers

On another note aside from sore boobs I’m not having many symptoms now aside from HUNGER HUNGER HUNGER. I wake up absolutely starving and when I’m hungry I must eat immediately! No real sickness aside from the first few days around 4 weeks, I’m not 6+6 so I’m taking that as a bonus!

How is everyone else going?

tigsyboo · 11/03/2019 08:36

@Hayley89 you might be using tests with different sensitivity. If you are using 50miu and someone else is using 25miu their test is bound to be darker than yours.
Re the clearblue weeks, it's just an estimate. Remember it should double every 48-72hrs so it might be 2-3wks today but well into 3+ by tomorrow. Don't worry.
You can't change these things and take it from someone who pushed for the answers to all of these similar questions ... and the answers just gave more uncertainty and waiting. Ultimately what will be will be and the most certain way of knowing is the scan you have booked.

Hayley89 · 11/03/2019 08:39

@TheGruffalosLoveChild thank you for your reply! I forgot to say that test was from Saturday and the one I did before was from Wednesday. The one Wednesday was very light but I had to switch to Boots own brand as they were out of stock of the FRER tests I was using originally (typical!). The Saturday one (Boots again) was definitely darker but I have no idea how much darker it realistically should be at this stage. As you can tell I'm definitely a worrier! I'll try another test on Wednesday as you suggest, hopefully it'll be darker still! :)

Cmac83 · 11/03/2019 08:43

Is anyone else paranoid about whether they are still pregnant? I didn't realise how common miscarriages were until I (stupidly) looked it up and now I'm constantly wondering how do I know if I'm still pregnant? I'm 4 weeks (clear blue positive on Saturday) and don't have any symptoms other than quite sore boobs, but they're not hugely painful. They feel the way they do around the time of my period. Is this usual for 4 weeks?

brighteye3986 · 11/03/2019 09:37

@Cmac83 I feel the same and I'm 6 weeks although the nausea is starting to come around 10-11. It came yesterday morning around 11. And the extreme tiredness. I've been going to bed around 8 and waking up a couple of times for toilet runs but am still struggling when my alarm goes off at 6 for work. And by 9 I'm ready for bed again. I have brought a CB week indicator test to do tomorrow to make sure it is showing as 3+.

Feelingsolow12345 · 11/03/2019 10:11

So I thought my tests was wrong or I dreamt it, all this sickness and sore boobs was in my head to so went and got some more tests today and it wasn't a dream at all. I don't know how to react. It's finally sinking in.

thumper59 · 11/03/2019 10:17

The nausea has hit me at 6 weeks like a steam train I feel not great. Not like I'm going to be sick but I feel really icky and struggling to eat. Boobs are sore, headaches come and go and I have unreal bloat. Oh god my emotions too 😂 I am emotional usually so I don't think that will be a give away for me, but it's even more irrational now. I don't know if I'll get away with 2 more weeks of feeling like this to our scan without anyone twigging on because I feel really quite vile from morning to night and like I don't wanna move about to much!

Feelingsolow12345 · 11/03/2019 10:30

My mood swings are crazy before hormones so no one will cotton on there and if I say I keep feeling sick I'll just say it's my ibs as they know that can flair up and I already have constant headaches so I got that covered too haha

Smiffette · 11/03/2019 11:15

I'm 6 weeks today, by my calculations, I filled in a form at my GP on the 1st March (a Friday) and was told the Midwife would get in contact when she is in on Tuesday the following week...I've still not heard anything. Should I follow up withe GP Practice? I thought about waiting to see if I am contacted tomorrow... just conscious if my calculation is wrong I could be further ahead and don't want to miss opportunities for tests.

Waitingformyrainbow · 11/03/2019 11:39

@Smiffette I'm 6 weeks tomorrow, I've just had my booking appointment with my GP, I don't see the midwife until I'm 10 weeks, they take bloods etc then, I thought it would be around 8 weeks to be honest.

Smiffette · 11/03/2019 11:44

@waitingformyrainbow oh ok... perhaps I will ring the GP as my practice said nothing about a booking appointment with the GP only mentioned that I would be contacted by the Midwife...I suppose places do do it differently. It's my first so not sure what's normal and what's not!

Hayley89 · 11/03/2019 11:54

@LKRJM - yes you did, hi again! Yeah unfortunately I had to switch to the cheapy Boots ones as they were out on the FRER! I did check the difference in strength that they both measure and Boots definitely needs a higher level to pick it up so it was reassuring there was still something there! I only came off the pill in January so although I'm estimating my DPO I don't really have a clue if it's correct!
I keep reminding myself I'm still only a week or so late which really is still SO early.
I'm right there with you on the hunger! I've never been a big eater and I usually hate eating breakfast (makes me feel bleurgh) but suddenly it's all I want to do. I actually sped through my work this morning so I could pop down to the fridge and get something to eat - I work from home so I feel like that's going to become a habit very quickly!

@tigsyboo - thank you for your message. You're right, I have been using different strength tests. The Boots ones need a much higher level than the FRER ones which explains why they are lighter. I think I'm just panicking because I have no clue what to expect, what's right or what's wrong. Plus it really doesn't help that everyone is different; I like structure and very clear guidelines lol. But you're spot on, whatever happens will happen; my OH keeps telling me this as well which is really helping. Just looking forward to the scan now!

Feelingsolow12345 · 11/03/2019 12:38

@Hayley my first test was on a cheap asda one and the line was light. I then done a cheap poundland one and it was a tad darker then done FRER and the line was a lot darker than the control line. It was like it was taking the dye from the control line haha

Knickersononeshead · 11/03/2019 12:40

I know it sounds sad but I've really got it into my head that something is wrong 😞

Feelingsolow12345 · 11/03/2019 13:03

@knickers it's probably nothing as we all feel it every now and then.

When's everyone telling work? In my work, I handle drugs that are harmful to pregnant people so I feel like I need to tell them soon

Miller2 · 11/03/2019 13:19

@feelingsolow12345 I told mine as soon as I found out. I work in a school and kids regularly get chickenpox and I've never had them. They know now to phone me straight away if they get wind of anyone with it. Only my line manager, business manager and HR lady know. Had to tell businesses manager and HR manager as we have to provide evidence of medical appointments and my first text confirmation had community midwife plastered all over it.

Hayley89 · 11/03/2019 13:21

@Feelingsolow12345 think I'll be buying some more FRER this week! I definitely had a strong(ish) result on them at first!

I'm trying not to think about telling my colleague. I'm self employed and we only set the company up back in September! (Oops) Grin

Feelingsolow12345 · 11/03/2019 13:21

I think I better tell them tomorrow when i go in. I just don't want my department to find out as it's a small team. Hate the attention like that.

Pixie1808 · 11/03/2019 14:38

Hi All :) I am new here, and just found out yesterday I am expecting :) (well it was a very faint line from a HGC stick - and I done one this morning with a clear blue and was darker but still light if you get me ) sorry for babbling... so im due date around 12th November which makes me around 5 weeks.. im really nervous as last March to the date I had a miscarriage :( was my first ever pregnancy, my partner and I have been TTC for 2 years so I have everything crossed that this one goes ok... However last year I had no implantation bleeding and no morning sickness, same as this time round :( so im extremely scared trying not to worry lots tho..

Knickersononeshead · 11/03/2019 14:42

Hi pixie, welcome and congratulations! Don't worry about not having an implantation bleed, I have never had one in any of my pregnancies and this is the first pregnancy that I've had morning sickness 🌹

Pixie1808 · 11/03/2019 14:52

Thank you Knickersononeshead... and congrats to you too :)

brighteye3986 · 11/03/2019 14:55

I told my work but as I went through IVF they had been on the journey with me with all the time I had off for scans etc.

@Knickersononeshead I know how you feel. I'm feeling a little like that today and I'm 6 weeks today. I've brought a CB week indicator one so I can see if it says 3+ which I think will make me feel a little more at ease if it does. I have a scan booked for next week but it just seems so far away.
