Does anyone know if you can bleach your hair while pregnant? Last pregnancy my hair was my natural colour but now it's bleached and my roots badly need doing

thumper59 · 11/03/2019 15:29

I work with my dad so hopefully sickness won't give me away before our 8 week scan 2 weeks on Friday 😂

Ruthsoph · 11/03/2019 15:43

yes you can bleach i think its perming that they dont recommend x

Lauraliverpool · 11/03/2019 15:49

Hi, would it be ok for me to join? Found out I'm pregnant about 3 weeks ago after a missed miscarriage last year so feeling really anxious, had a early reassurance scan at my epau last week and they can see a gestational sac and yolk sac but not the baby she said I was coming up to six weeks but don't know when that is exactly last period 23rd January. Going to be rescanned in not this Friday but the Fri after really hoping we'll see a baby and heartbeat by then, have been given due date as 30th of October. X

LKRJM · 11/03/2019 15:58

Hi all, @lauraliverpool my last period was the 23rd too and my name is Laura! Fingers crossed everything goes smooth for you!

My midwife called today something about a home visit? This will be my first baby so didn’t know to expect that? My house is an absolute shit tip too as we’ve renovated upstairs but left downstairs as were knocking walls out over Easter! Great! Getting my flu jab and papers from the doctor tomorrow as I’ve got to ring my local
Hospital something about booking a bed for my due date as the one I want books up quickly. Anyone else have any more information on what I’ll be expecting when I meet with the midwives?

Lauraliverpool · 11/03/2019 16:18

@LKRJM aah no way what a coincidence! I'm hoping so too!!. I had my booking appointment last Thursday, ask for family history on both sides, take blood pressure, take a urine sample with you, check for protein etc, do your height and weight, take blood sample, ask if you want certain tests done whilst pregnant, usually takes about an hour or so. Ask if your up to date with immunisation, up to date with your smear. I need to book my flu jab. X

PyjamasForever · 11/03/2019 17:13

So many of us due in November!!

Survived today at work without blurting it out to anyone. So so so so excited and just want to tell everyone.

I think areas are different as to whether or not GP sees you when pregnant. Here is straight to midwife for booking appointment between 8-10 weeks. I need to fill out my self referral form soon.

Feelingsolow12345 · 11/03/2019 17:19

I called my gp up today and they said I got to see a doctor to confirm I'm pregnant (I've done 7 tests I think I know I am haha) and then they will get me to go to reception and sort out midwife

Miller2 · 11/03/2019 17:24

@feelingsolow12345 my gp or midwife didn't even test. She asked me how many tests I'd done, because she said everyone does loads of them for some unknown reason despite the fact they're accurate and one is enough. I said I'd done 5. She laughed and said "see!". Maybe that's why she didn't bother testing 🤣

Prettyplease202 · 11/03/2019 17:36

Any one else struggling to stay awake, I’m only 4+4 and can barely keep my eyes open at 5.30 🤣🤣

amehh · 11/03/2019 17:45

@Prettyplease202 me! 6+3 and dead on my feet! The worst part is, I fall asleep around 9pm and I'm wide awake somewhere between 2am and 4am. It's a vicious cycle at the moment. Going to make a REAL effort to stay up past 9pm tonight!

Mintypea5 · 11/03/2019 17:51

Really nervous about joking as I have a history of miscarriage and am always anxious!

Tested last week day before period due and got a faint positive! Retested today (has some sPotting last week so feared the worst) a very strong positive so got my fingers crossed.

Am 5 weeks due 11th November! I have a 8.5 month old and 7 year old.

Never had sickness before with pregnancy bug feeling awful most days

Prettyplease202 · 11/03/2019 17:51

@amehh this sounds exactly like me!! Though I was too early on to feel anything but my sleep is all over the place!

Needadoughnut · 11/03/2019 18:00

For those wanting to work out I highly recot this book!

So today I'm 4weeks 5 days, as I mentioned before I had really bad sickness with DS (he is currently 15 months) and today I took an awful migraine but I experienced some nausea and it felt exactly like my last pregnancy, so I'm thinking the dreaded sickness is on its way :S I'm booked in tomorrow with gp to confirm pregnancy and get everything started!! Due 12th November ekkkk0 DS will be 2 in November

brighteye3986 · 11/03/2019 18:20

Anyone else had a breakout of spots? For some reason yesterday I seemed to have broken out in 3 huge spots. Normally get them with AF but have had really clear skin up until now. I'm starting to get anxious for my scan next week....

Mintypea5 · 11/03/2019 18:33

@ brighteye3986 I got really spotting with my lay oregancy and definitely have noticed a few recently.

Mintypea5 · 11/03/2019 18:33

Spotty even

piddlestix · 11/03/2019 18:38

Hi everyone.

@brighteye3986 I never get spots and I've just had a few crop up this weekend on my forehead. Marvellous!

How's everyone doing? I'm suffering big time with the sickness the last few days. I'm 6 weeks and a bit and feeling so sick. vomited a few times today too.

@Lauraliverpool I had a really similar experience with the early scan. My official due date is 30/10/19 too but I know I ovulated a few days later than usual so think it's more like 2/11/19. I went for the reassurance scan at bang on 6 weeks and they could see the sac and the yolk but nothing more. I'm going back this Wednesday to try again. It's so stressful isn't it. All you want is to see that heartbeat! Good luck with your next scan xxx

brighteye3986 · 11/03/2019 18:43

@piddlestix and @Mintypea5 I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I'm 6 weeks today. Nausea seems to be worse today and came on really strong at about 3 and then again now. Feeling massively bloated and mega crampy from trapped wind. I've been worried about cramps but think it's just the progesterone levels increasing plus I'm taking extra progesterone so I think it's making things a little worse.

It may sound strange but I want all the symptoms to come along as I will know that my body is still doing things etc.

thumper59 · 11/03/2019 19:03

Should we do an updated stat and due date list now there is a few of us?

Ladies who are earlier then me and tired at around 4 weeks, that was the give away for me! Before I tested I couldn't keep my eyes open and was sleeping after work every night! It wore off but has come back mid week 5-6. My nausea is on and off all day now, and I keep feeling quite light headed. I was anemic when younger so wondering if I'll get put back on iron. Hope your all well ladies! Struggled to keep up with this thread today!

Mintypea5 · 11/03/2019 19:13

I’ve never had neusea before but I’ve found tail end of 4 weeks / today at 5 weeks it’s been awful! Also been a bit lightheaded

Last oregancy around 8 weeks I fainted and scared my poor 7 yr old to death because I crashed into the washing airier and split my lip 🙈🤦🏻‍♀️

TrashKitten10 · 11/03/2019 19:21

Hi all! I'm 5+1 and actually managed to sleep over the weekend! Hurrah! Hoping the insomnia was a 3-4 week thing. No major symptoms really which I'm trying not to worry about. Woke up in the middle of the night last night from stomach pain and obviously thought the worst but thankfully just needed a big fart 😂

@thumper59 I'll start us off, if the next person copies mine and adds themselves above or below me depending on their due date and then the next person copies their post, etc.
