Hello! I couldn't find a thread, so I'm starting one. I'm due on the 5th. My DPs 40th birthday!

@Prequelle that's excellent! Thank you so much, huge congratulations again

WineWinner · 10/03/2019 15:13

Has anyone been getting random itching around the sides and bottom of the stomach? So strange!!

Mrdarcy1 · 10/03/2019 16:18

Hi ladies! Please can I join your chat? Feeling a little low today? Found out I'm pregnant yesterday, due 12th Nov. Feeling excited and scared all at the same time. This is our 3rd child but my older two are 12 and 15 so it's been a while!! Have the worst migraines and dizziness which I didn't get with the other 2. Feel so sick too!! Hope it passes soon. X

LokiCat · 10/03/2019 16:32

Thanks @LG0914 @Prequelle ❤️ I'm trying to stay positive! Helps having you ladies to discuss this with, otherwise I would be going crazy googling everything. There hasn't been any more since this morning so hopefully it's all okay.

@LG0914 I hope the bleeding stops for you as well. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽

@Needadoughnut the EPU is only Monday - Friday, unfortunately so will give them a ring tomorrow morning if I see spotting again.

MrsPMT23 · 10/03/2019 16:40

@LokiCat hope you've been doing ok today and hope the EPU can reassure you first thing tomorrow.

@Prequelle your ring baby looks great. I'm so tempted to get an early scan but DH is well against it.

Welcome to all the newcomers!

Has anyone else received their scan date? I'm pretty sure they don't organise ours until the booking appointment...I'm going to be keeping the look out for the postman every day now in the hope of an appointment letter!

amehh · 10/03/2019 16:45

Fab scan @prequelle, glad it went well!

Miller2 · 10/03/2019 17:12

@knickersononeshead and @waitingformyrainbow they don't always try an abdominal scan first. I went on Friday (exactly 6 weeks) and they only do internal scans before 8 weeks as you are guaranteed a clear picture so it costs the nhs trust less (rather than spending the time doing 2 scans if one doesn't work). It may be different if paying privately. As far as I'm concerned I didn't really care. We just needed to know everything was OK. Plus if it speeds up appointments (doing one scan rather than 2 if the abdominal one doesn't work) and means someone else who was worried managed to get an appointment the same day, I don't mind in the slightest. It didn't hurt and wasn't uncomfortable - they didn't even look under the gown either!

Yeoooooooo · 10/03/2019 17:14

Lovely scan @prequelle! I have my early scan next weekend and I’m excited but very very anxious.

I just can’t shake off the worried feeling. Need to step away from google!

@LokiCat try and take it easy then ring the EPU tomorrow. No point telling you not to worry as I’m sure you will but I’m sure everything is fine and you’ll get reassurance tomorrow.

LG0914 · 10/03/2019 17:20

@Prequelle Glad the scan went well. I can't wait to have my first one!

@LokiCat thank you, it does help to talk and read through comments on here. There's so many differences in what's normal during pregnancy for everyone but it's hard not to start googling every single thing.

@MrsPMT23 I'm eagerly awaiting a letter to come through also!

Cmac83 · 10/03/2019 17:25

Hi! I am a first timer, had a positive test yesterday. I was doing the 6 day early tests from Tuesday and had a faint line that got darker and darker each day. Then had positive on clear blue digital yesterday! Due date calculator puts me at 17th November. As it’s my first pregnancy it will be great to compare symptoms etc with people at the same stage Smile

Prequelle · 10/03/2019 17:41

Thanks so much everyone! @amehh did you have yours?

I'm hoping this cyst sods off coz it's doing my head in now

amehh · 10/03/2019 17:51

Sure did @prequelle had to have an internal but it was fab, nice strong heartbeat :)

Prequelle · 10/03/2019 18:01

Oh how lovely!!!

Jinglebells321 · 10/03/2019 18:01

Fab scans @prequelle & @amehh.

My symptoms (sore boobs and burping) seem to have almost gone.

Took a CB digital yesterday and it says 3+ weeks so the HCG levels are as expected.

I'm 5+4 tomorrow - I've had 2 miscarriages at this date in the past so slightly apprehensive about tomorrow - got a busy day at work though so that will distract me.

Once I've passed the 6 week mark (also had a MC at 6 weeks) I'll tell DH and start making appointments etc. Until now it's business as usual (minus the alcohol).

OhMarnie · 10/03/2019 18:12

@Jinglebells321 sorry to hear about your previous miscarriages 😞 if you don't mind me asking, as there ever been a reason for them or just bad luck? I've heard so many different things about the likelihood of miscarriage and I'm really terrified of having one even though I know there's a good chance that I might.

Jinglebells321 · 10/03/2019 18:36

@OhMarnie. They ran some blood tests after my first two and said they could find no reason. They literally happened one after the other and it was suggested that it was just too soon after the first one hence the second one didn't take.

I then had a successful pregnancy followed by another MC - I didn't even contact the EPU this time

PyjamasForever · 10/03/2019 20:56

Lovely scan pictures!!

By driving today I managed to avoid all "why aren't you drinking?" questions. Wasn't quite so easy when a surprise plate of probably unpasteurised cheese came out, so I had to blag that I was on a diet. Blush

Antibiotic excuse definitely won't work with next weekends guests (both doctors) so would know there is only one antibiotic I wouldn't be able to drink on, so hoping that again using weight loss and healthy living as an excuse will work.

Have actually felt less sick today, so stupidly more worried.

Cegbee · 10/03/2019 21:21

@PyjamasForever say you're on metronidazole for a dental
abscess- that's the one you can't drink with (makes you vomit)! Or you've given up alcohol for lent, I've used that a few times!

keepforgettingmyusername · 10/03/2019 22:14

You know I wasn't sure if this pregnancy would stick but I now have the main symptom I had my DS that I didn't have with my miscarriages, an unbelievable raging thirst. I'm drinking pints and pints of any and all kinds of fluid.

Feelingsolow12345 · 11/03/2019 01:22

@keep I'm the same. Constantly thirsty, needing the toilet and feeling sick after everything I eat

amehh · 11/03/2019 07:10

Is anyone else getting head rushes? Nearly fell over after getting out of bed this morning and it's almost every time I stand up, blergh

TizzyTess · 11/03/2019 07:35

I've been using lent for coffee. I am huge coffee addict and knew that my co workers would clock straight away that I was reaching for the decaf. So lent it was and when they said how surprised I was doing caffeine i said that my DH didn't believe I could do it, so I am determined out of spite lol! Being a competitive person they totally believed that! Ha!
Have also had to quit smoking which has been easier than I thought. No one else smokes at work so I've just been going for a little wander outside instead!

No real symptoms here, just a sore back, big nipples (Confused) and v tired.
Annoyingly I've been diagnosed with an abscess so am now on strong antibiotics so not sure how much is the pregnancy or the meds.

MrsPMT23 · 11/03/2019 07:55

Morning ladies, hope you had a good werkend!

@amehh I keep getting head rush...I think it's probably the one symptom that will give the whole secret away. That and being ridiculously hormonal 😂 I was so unreasonably angry last night that DH was on my side of the bed, I'm only 6 weeks in!

Has anyone got quite high abdominal pain? It's in the middle of my stomach. I can't remember having this the last time.

thumper59 · 11/03/2019 08:03

Morning ladies hope your all well. 6 weeks for me today and I'm feeling relatively shite, feeling nauseous and just generally a bit bab and down! I know it's hormornes but I was having a good cry last night about how lonely I feel. I'm looking forward to getting our scan out the way it's just such a worrying time isn't it

Leleophants · 11/03/2019 08:18

6 weeks tomorrow! Feeling better with every passing day (as gets us closer!) Quite enjoying no one knowing at the moment. Although it'll be great to get things in the open, all the realities and questions will come in. Anyone else worrying about telling people?

I wonder if I'm just missing my symptoms as normal me! I have to eat constantly and have snacks in my bag. But I always have! Same with tiredness without coffee. I've only had stomach cramps if eaten bread etc when have heaps of fruit and veg feel loads better, if that helps anyone.
