@PrayingandHoping I'm on progesterone too so not sure if it's that. I don't have any issues with constipation but I do have trapped wind quite a bit. I also keep getting a stitch on my left hand side too.....

PrayingandHoping · 08/03/2019 11:27

@brighteye3986 constipation is a known side effect of progesterone (I'm also on a high dose). I got it notably before I got a bfp.

brighteye3986 · 08/03/2019 11:30

@PrayingandHoping I'm on 400mg 3 times a day. Are you on more than that? I'm pretty sure trapped wind is a side effect also. I have IBS so that messes me around sometimes.

LokiCat · 08/03/2019 11:31

@ChesMum2019 aww what a lovely scan photo! Congrats!! Must have been so nice seeing that and the heartbeat!

@brighteye3986 I'm getting cramps and twinges here and there as well. I'm still worried every time I wipe.
Then I worry even more when I go a few hours without feeling any symptoms at all. It's all so confusing 🙈

Miller2 · 08/03/2019 11:32

All went well. Nice fast heartbeat and got scan pic. Excited now!

PrayingandHoping · 08/03/2019 11:33

@brighteye3986 I'm on 800mg cyclogest twice a day and Lubion once a day 😳

LokiCat · 08/03/2019 11:46

@Miller2 so happy for you!! How exciting, glad it went well 😊

PyjamasForever · 08/03/2019 12:16

So excited that a couple of people have had scans already!

Feels reassuring that everyone else wants to eat as much as I do, but the sickness has properly started for me now. Threw up after brushing my teeth. Took about 6 weeks for my sickness to start last time, so I think this time I'll be worse.

I'm so bloated today that I've worn a really floaty dress and giant pants to work.

thumper59 · 08/03/2019 12:20

@LokiCat I'm the same with the twinges and the worrying. Whenever I feel fine I worry something is wrong. I'm trying to keep the mindset unless there is lots of blood or lots of cramping everything is fine!

Prettyplease202 · 08/03/2019 13:05

@MrsPMT23 thank you for your advice. Will give it a try!!

Laurajp23 · 08/03/2019 13:40

I've been getting little twinges. Also been super bloated today and have barely had anything to eat (had loads to drink though). Food today has literally been half a digestive, a few chips and the crust of a pizza 🙈

I had some cramping this morning, kept thinking it was a period pain or something but this afternoon it's been like little bubbles popping in my stomach... Probably gas and the root of the bloating!!
Hoping this is all normal! 😂😂

LKRJM · 08/03/2019 13:57

Hi all, Ive figures my dates to be 29th October -ish- my doctors have invited me for a flu jab? Now I’ve never been pregnant before is this something I should do? I don’t want to be naive and just go ahead on the doctors say so, so wondering if any one you lovely ladies have any input? X

LG0914 · 08/03/2019 14:04

@LKRJM flu jab is advised when pregnant (and for people with certain health problems), it's up to you though if you would like one x

Miller2 · 08/03/2019 14:31

@lkrjm my midwife said to get one. Apparently your immune system lowers when pregnant so your body doesn't attack your developing baby (it has genes that aren't solely your own, she said to think of it like an organ transplant, only rather than taking drugs to stop your body attacking it, nature means your immune system lowers to protect it - quite clever really). That makes you more susceptible to catching bugs, and flu can be dangerous to a developing baby. Midwife said unless I had an allergy that justified not having the jab, I should get it. Therefore I had to get over my needle phobia and have it. I went in crying and shaking. Its not a dislike of needles, it's a genuine phobia and i was quite a state. I'm aware there will be loads of needles coming up (blood tests etc) so I'm just gonna have to do my best to not fall apart each time. It's so embarrassing.

worriedmomtobe1 · 08/03/2019 15:11

I have been offered a flu jab too but i have been thinking against it lately. The cough vaccine that comes after 20 weeks i will definitely get.
But early on putting vaccines in my body does not make me feel comfortable. Also its a first and dont really have any friends who have had babies in uk to hear their story. NHS definitely recommends it but they say it is up to you.
Have all in this group had flu vaccine?

worriedmomtobe1 · 08/03/2019 15:13

@miller2 at how many weeks did you have one?

Miller2 · 08/03/2019 15:23

@Worriedmomtobe had mine on Monday so would have been 5+3. It was fine. I personally would rather not take the chance of getting flu given I work in a school and children are very germy creatures as it is. I googled risks of flu in pregnancy and didn't really hesitate to be honest. NHS site said "flu in pregnancy could mean your baby is born prematurely or have a low birth weight, and may even lead to stillbirth or death in the first week of life". No idea on data and figures but that statement alonewas enough for me to opt for it despite the hysterical state I get myself into with needles. The nurse was very good at calming me down though, she was great in fact. I don't know why I have a phobia of needles. It's never stopped me getting jabs I need, but I go absolutely bonkers before hand. I'm hoping given I'll have to have a few needles for various things over the next few months it will help to slightly reduce my anxiety around them. Time will tell I suppose.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 08/03/2019 15:47

Miller - I’m also not good with needles. It’s a shame we have to have so many bloods taken etc throughout pregnancy Grin.

Personally I would definitely take the vaccine Smile. If it’s offered to me I will be. If you have any concerns, hopefully your doctor/midwife should be able to talk through these with you and reassure you.

Knickersononeshead · 08/03/2019 15:53

Oh I hope needadoughnut is OK, she's not been back on since her MW appt 🙁

amehh · 08/03/2019 16:10

@Miller2 so glad your scan went well!

@ChesMum2019 what a fab scan picture, can't wait for my scan on Sunday :)

Sorry I can't remember all the tags but I've got a midwife appt at 6+4 but that's only because I can't physically make any other appointment without needing to leave work (for those talking about appts). I contacted my GP reception who booked me in and then the mw called me :)

I'm super bloated too, especially in the evenings! Unbelievably exhausted and there is no build up to hunger, I go from normal to STARVING haha. I'm still not eating as big meals as usual though and have slowly dropped 1lb over the last 2 weeks. I keep getting the occasional period pain for about 10 minutes at a time but then it just disappears, thank goodness! And last night I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 4:34am Confused horrible!

Miller2 · 08/03/2019 16:17

@needadoughnut did everything go OK yesterday at your appointment? X

LKRJM · 08/03/2019 16:27

Thanks so much everyone for your opinions, I think I’ll ring Monday and book myself in! Flowers

PyjamasForever · 08/03/2019 16:50

Good idea to get the flu jab regardless of pregnancy in my opinion. I've seen young previously healthy adults die of flu. It's just horrible so I wouldn't want to take the risk with a weaker immune system from pregnancy.

Hopefully flu season is starting to wind down now.

I'm in charge of dinner tonight because DH is working late. Sitting in the supermarket car park wondering what I can stomach making?

thumper59 · 08/03/2019 16:57

@PyjamasForever I'm on my own tonight so I've been to supermarket and bought stuff to make a Cesar salad and some strawbs for snacking on. Trying to make healthier choices! I really don't want to put to much weight on while pregnant.

I took another clear blue digital when I got home. Got 3+ weeks on it, I previously took one on. 26th feb and got 1-2. So that's given me peace of mind everything is developing as it should be. Just to wait for my scan now!
