Hello! I couldn't find a thread, so I'm starting one. I'm due on the 5th. My DPs 40th birthday!

@thumper59 I haven't changed my diet much, but stocked up on quite a bit of fruit at work so I reach for those rather than snacking on biscuits/crisps (I could probably open up a fruit stall 🤦🏻‍♀️). Going to try and cut down on the sugar as much as possible but I have a huge sweet tooth!

@TrashKitten10 one of the fingers is slightly bruised and still sore to touch :( hopefully it'll be alright!

@Laurajp23 welcome and congratulations! I think we're all on the same emotional rollercoaster at the moment 😂

PyjamasForever · 07/03/2019 20:10

Can I join?

Had my bfp yesterday (although period isn't due until Monday). EDD 18th November. I've had a fair bit of nausea (only controlled by biscuits).

So exciting that people are getting booking appointments through. I think I'm going to wait until I'm closer to 5w to let the midwives know. I don't think I believe it yet.

LT2019 · 07/03/2019 20:17

My estimated due date is 8 November.

I called my GP practice, who told me to call another local practice to speak to the midwifery team. They told me to call the local hospital but not until 6 wks, who will then provide literature to pick up. Is this normal? Feels a bit unorganised!

Is this normal practice?

Laurajp23 · 07/03/2019 20:21

Glad I'm not the only one crying at nothing! 🤣
Still doesn't feel real to be honest. Seeing doctor tomorrow so I'm sure that will make it feel a bit more real :)

PrayingandHoping · 07/03/2019 20:34

@LT2019 I think diff areas do things differently? I popped into my surgery and filled out a form today and the midwife will apparently call me next week on the day she's in

Prettyplease202 · 07/03/2019 21:17

Would love to join got my BFP on Tues with a FRER and confirmed today with CBD. Due 14th Nov. It’s great reading all of your symptoms, I’ve had crazy sleep patterns, waking in the early morn and really vivid dreams!

LokiCat · 07/03/2019 21:31

@LT2019 I think as a pp said it is different for each area. I self referred on the hospital website who said they will contact me for my 10-12 week scan and in the mean time will forward my paperwork to a community midwife to contact me for a booking appointment..
Maybe visit your local hospital website and see what that mentions?
It does seem quite confusing. Would be easier if they had one set process everywhere!

Welcome and congrats! @PyjamasForever and @Prettyplease202

TrashKitten10 · 08/03/2019 06:37

Another rubbish nights sleep :( Woke up at 2:30 last night and only got back to sleep just before my alarm went off at 6. Urgh, baby is getting me trained for the sleepless nights early 😴

Prettyplease202 · 08/03/2019 06:43

@trashkitten10 I feel your pain! Awake from 12 till 2 and every hour on the hour after that!

Any one got any tips for a good night sleep despite the hormones? 😴

Baba11 · 08/03/2019 07:06

Snap
Lack of sleep is driving me nuts! Asked doc about them but she didn't really have any advice 🙄

TrashKitten10 · 08/03/2019 07:12

@Baba11 @Prettyplease202 At least I'm not the only one Sad I was expecting sleep difficulties in the third trimester, not pretty much straight after conception!

TizzyTess · 08/03/2019 07:48

Hi Ladies

Can I join?
We got our BFP yesterday, DD 13th Nov.
We are cautiously excited!!

Have an annoying niggly cramp and sore lower back but hoping thats a good thing. I also woke with a horrific headache.

DH is absolutely buzzing!

thumper59 · 08/03/2019 08:01

Welcome and congrats to all the new ladies 💕

How is everyone this morning? I am feeling good again. My boobs was agony last night but they're just ample achiness today. Still no sickness. I've been having a cup of tea and some lotus biscoffs every morning though and I'm wondering if that's what's sorting me out for the morning? I get a bit quesy before I'm hungry. I can't explain it. I don't feel sick, and I don't feel nauseous I just start feeling a bit off in my tummy? I don't really know! 5+4 today. 3 weeks today till a scan. I can't bloody wait! Hope you all have a lovely Friday!

MrsPMT23 · 08/03/2019 08:01

@Prettyplease202 I've always used the YouTube channel Meditation Vacation which really helps me sleep. It's guided meditation and mind clearing. Sometimes I don't sleep but feel rested afterwards anyway. Worth a try!

LokiCat · 08/03/2019 08:02

Sorry you guys are having such rubbish sleep! :(

Nausea hit me full force on the walk to work. First two guys walked past me smoking a cig which smelt horrid and then the guy in front of me stepped in a pile of sick 🤢
Now the feeling won't go away!

Welcome @TizzyTess and congrats on your BFP 😊

Smiffette · 08/03/2019 08:16

@HopingandPraying I had the same thing with my surgery, filled out the form on 01.03.19 and was told the midwife would be in touch when she was in, which would be the following Tuesday. I haven't heard from her yet though... looking at some of the other posts I wonder if they wait a little longer. I'll be 6 weeks on Monday.

@thumper59 I think my symptoms sound similar to you, no feeling sick yet, thankfully but do notice in my tummy if I haven't eaten in a while.

Sleep is a little disturbed still, has been for weeks, and boobs are definitely tender! I had a breast reduction 11 years ago so I always wondered how I would feel when I got pregnant.

Knickersononeshead · 08/03/2019 08:22

@needadoughnut hope your MW appt went well yesterday ❤️

I woke up at just gone 4 and it took me ages to drop back off 😕

thumper59 · 08/03/2019 08:29

@Smiffette yeah similar to me! Although I think I spoke to soon as when I got up to go to the bathroom and get ready I got an overwhelming rush of nausea, so that's fun 😂

Miller2 · 08/03/2019 08:32

I had some spotting last night. Not very much (only just noticeable when I wiped). It was pale chocolate brown (sorry for tmi) and it didn't happen when I went to the loo every other time last night, just that once, so I'm hoping it's nothing to worry about, but that's not stopping me from worrying. None of the phone lines of been given were open at 6pm so I consulted doctor Google. At 6 weeks it could just have been the placenta attaching to the womb, it could be anything really but the fact it was brown and not bright red is supposed to be reassuring (tell that to my brain). I'm exactly 6 weeks today. Gonna phone the midwife number when it opens at 9am to see what they recommend.

Miller2 · 08/03/2019 08:33

In terms of sleep, I bought a lavender pillow spray thing from Holland and Barrett as I'd have tried anything. Been sleeping OK since, but don't know if that's down to the spray or whether I'd have started sleeping OK again anyway.

Smiffette · 08/03/2019 08:34

@thumper59 aww fingers crossed it was just a one off and not the start of sickness :-(

KBLondon · 08/03/2019 08:37

Can I join as well? Due date calculator puts my due date at 30 Oct but everything in my cycle seemed late so I think early Nov is probably more realistic.

I had hyperemesis with my first pregnancy and as of yet have no nausea yet which is obviously great but does leave me wondering if maybe something has gone wrong. Trying not to worry and just hope that I'm one of those statistically unlikely people to get extreme nausea in one pregnancy and nothing the next!

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 08/03/2019 09:14

Hello to the newbies and congratulations!

I feel like I have been pregnant for ages and I’m only 5+1 Blush.

Has anyone got any tips for reducing bloating? Apart from peppermint tea? It’s 9:15am and I’m already bloated. My (usually loose) dress is clinging to my stomach Shock.

Miller2 · 08/03/2019 09:37

Spoke to the early pregnancy clinic and they've given me an appointment for an internal scan at 11.15 today. How delightful does that sound. Praying everything is OK. Feel really sick with worry now.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 08/03/2019 09:39

Good luck Miller2. It was just a bit of brown blood? I think that is fairly common so try not to worry. At least it’s not long to wait. Good luck x
