Hello! I couldn't find a thread, so I'm starting one. I'm due on the 5th. My DPs 40th birthday!

@LokiCat there's no chance I could wait 12 weeks!! I'm struggling to wait 3 I'm counting down 😂. We are gonna put a little scan photo in each of our mums cards we think subject to all being well 🙂 I can't bloody wait x

Miller2 · 05/03/2019 14:36

@yeoooooooo your post is something I could have written. I had some groin pain the other day but its gone now. Also sat googling everything under the sun. Everytime I go for a wee I get nervous before I wipe just in case.

brighteye3986 · 05/03/2019 14:45

@Miller2 I do exactly the same when I go to the toilet! I'm just worried something will go wrong! Dr google is our own worst enemy!

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 05/03/2019 14:57

I also have no symptoms, apart from cramping/stabbing pains.

Booked a scan for 17th March when I will be 6+3. I’m worried about it being too early to detect a heartbeat, but I want to have a scan ASAP to check it’s not an ectopic. I agree it’s an anxious time.

MamaGeordie · 05/03/2019 15:04

Hi all,

I got my BFP on Saturday and am now approx 4+5, due around 7th Nov with DC3.
I started with some spotting and cramping this morning which has continued and gotten heavier as the day's gone on, from brown to pink/red now. I'm so scared I'm losing it as I've been so lucky and haven't had anything like this in previous pregnancies. I took a FRER late morning and got a stronger line than previous days but CB digital said not pregnant.
I have a GP appointment in a couple of hours but not sure how it'll help if the inevitable has already begun...
Good luck to all you ladies Smile

PrayingandHoping · 05/03/2019 15:09

I found out Friday. Mines an IVF baby so was tested via blood test as not home tests not reliable due to the meds I’m on

In a state of disbelief it’s finally happened. Been a long road, but this was our first round of ivf. So then worry that something may go wrong.

Due on 7 November. 7 week scan booked 21st March

LokiCat · 05/03/2019 15:10

@thumper59 that's such a cute idea! I'm sure they'll love that!

@Miller2 I'm the exact same every time I wipe. I feel nervous whenever I feel a little 'wet' down there that it's because of bleeding..

@MamaGeordie I hope your appointment goes okay and everything is fine x

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 05/03/2019 15:17

Praying - Congratulations and I’m keeping everything crossed for you. It must be even more nerve wracking after having a long journey and IVF. Good luck!

MamaGeordie - try not to worry if it’s just spotting. Good luck at the doctors. I’m also due 7th Nov with number 3 Smile!

thumper59 · 05/03/2019 15:20

@LokiCat Thankyou! I've seen cards that say 'the only thing better then having you as my mum...' and when you open it says is our baby having you as their grandma. So think we are getting them to put inside our normal Mother's Days cards with a scan pic in. I can't wait 🙂

I'm also nervous every time I wipe! Going to toilet is hella scary... I think I'm getting a random smell aversion to people's usual body odour? Like anyone who doesn't smell of aftershave/perfume. Either that or everyone that's been into work today and yesterday has smelt unpleasant...how bizarre is that 😂

Miller2 · 05/03/2019 15:24

@mamageorgie have everything crossed that all is well and your appointment goes OK. 🤞

MamaGeordie · 05/03/2019 15:28

Thank you lovely ladies Flowers
A scan on Mother's Day sounds perfect 💖

PrayingandHoping · 05/03/2019 15:35

That’s a few of us due 7th November then 😁

Valentines babies 🤣🤣

Valentine’s Day was egg collection day so as precise as it can be ha ha

OhMarnie · 05/03/2019 15:48

@thumper59 that's such a lovely idea! 💕

Haha it's funny you say that about the smell - today lots of people have smelt kind of musty to me when they walk past 😷 but then again I work in a secondary school!! 🤣🤪

@PrayingandHoping haha 😂 I think our conception date was Valentine's Day too, but I don't think I ovulated till a couple of days later (although I'm not quite sure) so I might be a little less than 4+5

OhMarnie · 05/03/2019 15:49

Also I like this idea of a scan on Mother's Day, I wonder if I can talk DH into this! How much do they cost out of interest? And do they tell you anything about how far along you are exactly? With my irregular cycles I really don't know but I'd like to have a precise idea of how many weeks/days I am

LokiCat · 05/03/2019 15:52

@thumper59 aww how sweet! That card would make me so teary
😂 clearly people around you haven't been showering the last two days. My sense of smell seems to be heightened as well. Someone on the train yesterday was eating a meat sandwich and it smelt horrible, when normally I don't mind the smell of it..

That's a good point @PrayingandHoping! Some ladies here had a very good Valentine's Day! 😂
Happy for you that you got your BFP after what sounds like a long TTC journey :) 💕

LokiCat · 05/03/2019 15:56

@OhMarnie I've booked it through this website - www.baby-scan.co.uk/early-scans/viability-scan/ they seem to have a few locations. It was £49 at the location I selected (which is where my parents live but £79 at my local one!).
It includes an estimated date through measurement according to the details. I also googled the centre where I picked before booking it and it had really good reviews.

thumper59 · 05/03/2019 15:59

@OhMarnie that's so weird that's how I feel! Like people smell a bit mucky... I work in a showroom so I don't know what's going on! Yeah our scan is gonna cost £79 and we are Yorkshire. They should be able to date you and hear a heart beat 🙂

@LokiCat so weird isn't it! I keep waiting to see if I am off anything but I'm not, just everyone seems to stink 😂😂

thumper59 · 05/03/2019 16:01

I hope they cry! 😂 it'll be my mum and dads 3rd grandchild and 2nd this year as one due in the summer so they'll maybe cry not out of happiness 😂

jacquesjacques · 05/03/2019 16:30

I could honestly smell the ink in the ballpoint pen I was using yesterday - super strength sense of smell has kicked in here too. Grin

I've had my first scan booked at the EPU, for 20th March when I'll be about 6 weeks. I've also booked my midwife appt for 8 weeks. They did make me giggle on both phone calls when they painstakingly gave me directions to the clinic; like I haven't spent many of the worst hours of my life in those rooms and corridors!

Knickersononeshead · 05/03/2019 16:35

Omg yes to the sensitive smelling. Was in asda early and I had to run to the toilet to throw up after walking past a particular smelly bloke 🤮

brighteye3986 · 05/03/2019 16:36

@PrayingandHoping I had IVF and also have my 7 week scan on 21st. My DD is 4th Nov. I tested at home as that's what my clinic advises. It's strange how every clinic is different! I've done 5 tests though so all looking good and the last one I did Saturday had very strong lines.

OhMarnie · 05/03/2019 16:46

Is it normal to have cramps in early pregnancy? I feel like I'm about to get my period to be honest! Except the pain is a little different it's more like pressure, feels like trapped wind but low down?! I think I'm overanalysing every twinge, god knows how I will be able to wait for a 12 week scan!

PrayingandHoping · 05/03/2019 16:53

I think it depends what meds they have u on. My kitchen looks like a pharmacy. Lol. Apparently what I’m on can make you get false readings on home tests. Although when I had my blood test I asked if I had done one and when I replied no they laughed surprised as everyone still does. But they tell u not to as if people get a negative they then don’t want to come in for the blood test....

TrashKitten10 · 05/03/2019 16:55

@thumper59 We have a scan booked for that day too! I'll only be 7+6 though. Just really need some reassurance but it still feels so long away :) And we had the idea about announcing it to our mums the next day. Where did you see those cards? They sound perfect.

@LokiCat I'm quite.. ahem.. wet at the moment too. Definitely nerve wracking wondering what 'the wet' is before you get to the toilet

brighteye3986 · 05/03/2019 17:03

@PrayingandHoping what meds are you on? I'm only on cyclogest now. All other meds have finished.
