Hello! I couldn't find a thread, so I'm starting one. I'm due on the 5th. My DPs 40th birthday!

I drank a bottle of vodka when I would have been about 3 weeks qfor Blush try not to worry, many women only find out weeks after 5 and have carried on drinking throughout

Miller2 · 05/03/2019 09:59

I asked my midwife about exercise. She said its great in pregnancy but not to over do it. She said I should be able to comfortably hold a conversation. I do running you see. Can't say I've ever been able to hold a conversation whilst running so I've just shortened my distance from 5k down to 2.5 or 3, and I run much slower. I can't run at my normal speed now anyway. I sometimes stop early and turn back though cos I start needing a wee!

QforCucumber · 05/03/2019 10:02

Miller in my previous pregnancy I was doing c25k up until about 4/5 months (when I just lost motivation) I just did it at a slower pace and was absolutely fine.

Thanks Prequelle that is reassuring, always something to worry about isn't there.

this is pg #3 for us. 1st was mmc at 8+1 5 years ago. We have an (almost) 3 year old and then this is due 4th November. Well wishes to everyone.

thumper59 · 05/03/2019 10:04

I don't know what I'm looking for in response here but I am so so scared I have a mmc. I'm actually nearly in tears thinking about going for an 8wk scan and just having nothing there. I have no reason to think this- I've not had no cramping in a while and even so it was only very mild,no blood, my nausea has worn back off and my boobs still hurt a little but other then that I just feel normal and I don't feel like I should feel normal? I know I'm being irrational but it's making me just want to stay at home in a ball until someone can scan me and tell me everything is ok 😕. OH told me to stay off google but it's easier said then done isn't it..

Shefliesonherownwings · 05/03/2019 10:05

Hi all, I am also one whose symptoms have dropped off, since Friday last week. Less bloating and cramping and boobs not as sore. I had a tiny bit of spotting twice yesterday so am just generally worried this is all a bad sign. But I saw the doctor yesterday who said it was all normal so fingers crossed.

I also asked about exercise, particularly a class I do with weights. She said to either lower the weights or not use weights as your ligaments and joints are softening and they could be damaged. I'm sticking to swimming and yoga for now.

Prequelle · 05/03/2019 10:06

thumper I found this reassuring, I hope you do too. It's obviously not set in stone as there's many factors we need to acknowledge but it helps a bit
datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer.php

And just remember that each day that passes you're less likely to miscarry. Each day is an achievement.

thumper59 · 05/03/2019 10:16

@Prequelle aw yeah that is very reassuring I didn't realise the percentages can change so much! I'm trying to stick to thinking I've no blood and no bad cramps which seems to be the big tell tale signs. I am young and healthy and doing all I can. Thankyou I really appreciate that 💕

It is helpful to know we are all in the same situation, and that quite a few of us have had reduced symptoms around 5 weeks. So glad we have this thread!

thumper59 · 05/03/2019 10:26

Excercise wise I haven't been to gym for a month anyway so won't bother re-joining. I'll just go for the odd swim and up the walk lengths with the dogs

snowdroplet · 05/03/2019 10:26

@Lozboz22 yes it is very anxious time. I kinda feel like miscarriage never happened and I am just still pregnant but then I remember I am back at start again. I will be looking forward to scan but also 1/2 dreading after last time. I run and continued running last time, I am afraid to run now incase that was cause. Realistically I know with my age I had a much higher chance and it was probably unrelated.

brighteye3986 · 05/03/2019 11:16

@thumper59 I have been advised not to swim as they are unsure if chlorine affects unborn babies especially in the first 12 weeks.

Kinsters · 05/03/2019 11:18

Thumper if you're doing everything you can (not smoking etc) then thats all you can do. Everything else is down to nature and luck. Even if the worst does happen you'll get through it. I don't know if that's comforting or not. Have you had miscarriages before?

Jinglebells321 · 05/03/2019 11:19

Hi all! Just got my unexpected BFP on Sunday which makes me 4 + 5 and due around 7th November. This is the earliest I've ever got a BFP as previously I've needed to wait til 7 days after AF was due to get my positive.

This will be my 5th pregnancy. Unfortunately 3 of those have ended in MC - mc 5+4, mc 5+4, dd (4) then mc 6+0.

I'm trying to be realistic of my chances of a full term pregnancy. Dr's were never able to give me any idea as to why I had miscarried before - said it was bad luck.

Currently taking pregnancy vitamins and 75mg of aspirin and keeping everything crossed! Haven't told DP yet - will wait til I'm past the 6 week mark or even after I've had an early viability scan at 8 weeks.

piddlestix · 05/03/2019 11:23

Hi everyone.
Congratulations to all.
I've had some light bleeding on and off for the past 2 weeks. It's very light and the midwife seems fairly confident it is because of the LLETZ treatment I had last year. I've had 2 babies previously and never had bleeding like this before. But the treatment I had is where they laser off an area of your cervix because of pre-cancerous cells ( ladies always go and get your smears done please!)
Anyway since the treatment my cervix has often bled on and off when I get hormonal changes. So I feel fairly hopeful that this bleeding is just that... hormonal changes rather than a miscarriage. But it's so so stressful!! I'm forever going to the toilet to wipe and check for blood. So I'm off to the early pregnancy unit tomorrow for an early scan. Fingers crossed it's just my grumbly cervix and not the beginning of the end 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
To the ladies worried about symptoms disappearing - with both my previous pregnancies the symptoms dropped off between 5 and 6 weeks and then came back with the sickness a little while after 6 weeks. Good luck everyone! Xx

thumper59 · 05/03/2019 11:25

@Kinsters I've never smoked so that's not a problem- not had a drink since before I even got a BFP so not got that factor. No health issues in either me or DH and good ages ( I know this isn't a good indicator. I'm 23 he's 26 fwiw). No previous losses this is the first time I have ever been pregnant. I'm just a worrier by nature I think and it's not helping much!

OhMarnie · 05/03/2019 11:27

Hi everyone 👋 I got my BFP yesterday. Not sure of dates as I have irregular cycles but if I go from when I think we conceived then I'm 4+5. Does anyone else feel like a fraud like they're not actually pregnant??? 😂🙈 especially as I don't have many symptoms yet and also don't want to tell too many people, I feel like it's not real. I'm also terrified if having a MC but I guess that's normal... I get the feeling I'm going to be a very anxious pregnant person! 🙈

thumper59 · 05/03/2019 12:08

Welcome @OhMarnie lovely to see people coming off the ttc thread thick and fast!

LokiCat · 05/03/2019 12:16

@piddlestix good luck for your scan tomorrow! Fingers crossed it's all normal 🤞🏽

@Shefliesonherownwings glad your appointment yesterday was useful. I asked the GP today if lack of symptoms was fine, as I'm starting to worry as well and he said it's normal as well.

@thumper59 i think looking at response we're all pretty much in the unknown right now and hoping for some answers, so I'm sure it's pretty normal what you're feeling. You're doing everything right and unfortunately all we can all do is wait.. fingers crossed these next three weeks fly by for your 8 week appointment and everything looks fine at the scan! 🤞🏽❤️

@OhMarnie happy to see you move on to this thread, congrats again!! Completely the same about feeling like a fraud!! At least we're all in a similar boat, hopefully that means it's normal!

I had a little cry to DH yesterday as I was feeling so anxious about not feeling any symptoms. Bless him, he said we'll book as many scans as we can to make me worry less. I hate being in the unknown 🙈
Also just got back from my PCOS scan and it showed that I do have PCOS but the doctor said pregnancy should help with it 🤷🏽‍♀️

TrashKitten10 · 05/03/2019 12:24

@OhMarnie So excited to see you here! I know what you mean about feeling a fraud. I was whittling to DH about not having any symptoms and he was like 'err, your boobs are huge and you spend your night wandering the house with insomnia when you normally sleep about 10 hours a day. You do have symptoms' I guess he's right but I just want to feel a bit peaky at least. You ladies can remind me of that comment when I'm moaning about morning sickness Grin

Yeoooooooo · 05/03/2019 13:20

@thumper59 your post basically sums me up at the minute. I’m a ball of anxiety. This morning I was awake from 2.30am Googling miscarriage symptoms. I’m driving myself bananas!

I have no real symptoms at the minute bar the insomnia and cramping. Some days it’s like period pain and others it’s like mild sharp cramps in my groin. I have a private scan booked for next weekend so hopefully that will allay some of my fears. I also need to stop googling!

thumper59 · 05/03/2019 13:23

@Yeoooooooo we need a lock on all our phones so we can't google anything. 😂 it's reassuring we are all feeling more or less the same at more or less the same stage! How exciting for your scan. 3 weeks Saturday until we have one it feels a life time away!

thumper59 · 05/03/2019 13:24

Also I've lost count of how many times I have googled exactly that. Then I Look for really rare barely noticeable symptoms and convince myself it's that. Yay for being a worrier

OhMarnie · 05/03/2019 13:34

@thumper59 do you have an early scan then? How far along are you? I did mention to DH about going private for early scans but I think he knows me too well and said I need to chill out and not try and control everything 🙄🙄🙄

thumper59 · 05/03/2019 13:45

@OhMarnie yeah we are booking one for day before Mother's Day. I'll be 8+5. I really want it for the reassurance and so if everything is fine we can tell our parents for Mother's Day. I keep getting tempted to go for one earlier but 8 weeks seems to be the best time to get the most accurate scan and hear a heart beat etc so don't want to waste money to not be much more reassured early if you see what I mean, if we went at 6 weeks I'd still worry and want to see it at 8 weeks. So I think we will go for an 8 week then wait till our 12 week one

thumper59 · 05/03/2019 13:45

@OhMarnie I am 5+1 today 🙂

LokiCat · 05/03/2019 14:09

@thumper59 we've just booked an early scan for Mother's Day as well. I'll be 8+1.
Don't think I'd be able to last till 12 weeks otherwise!
