@Miller2 defo not alone! I'm like a duck in deep water atm I'm chill on the surface flapping like mad underneath! My reasonable part of my brain knows there is nothing I can do, other then what I'm doing. And if it doesn't work out worrying about it wouldn't of made an ounce of difference. I think it's best not to read to many threads on here regarding miscarriage etc because more people come on here to share and look for support for bad times then people report the good and easy times iyswim. Try and enjoy it as much as you can! Symptoms will come and go, I feel the same as you though and can't wait for a scan to half put my mind at ease. You know after then we will just worry about a ton more things though!

Prequelle · 04/03/2019 10:05

I'm having a 6 week ultrasound, £35 quid bargain. Won't be able to see much but I just want to know it's not in a fallopian tube.

Prequelle · 04/03/2019 10:06

Miller you're not alone. I'm so so anxious too. It's because 4 days a week I'm supporting women going through complications like ectopics, miscarriages, having TOP due to things being wrong with the foetus... It's hitting me hard and making me scared even though my rational side is telling me to stop

LokiCat · 04/03/2019 10:13

@Miller2 I'm exactly the same. I constantly keep googling every little feeling I have. I'm so worried that apart from sore boobs I'm not feeling any symptoms that it's making me so anxious somethings wrong.
I will probably be booking an early private scan to put my mind slightly at ease.

@Prequelle that is a bargain! The ones I'm seeing are about £69. Closest one to me is £90! But it's still worth it for me to get some reassurance, at least!

Miller2 · 04/03/2019 10:52

Next question (it's a personal one, sorry)... I know midwives will not give a stuff, but do people "groom"? Just thinking if I was to go for an early scan which may be an internal (if the normal one doesn't show anything clearly) then what do most women do. If all goes well with the pregnancy, at some point it will become impossible to do anyway so will probably give birth with full bush (sorry, tmi? 🤣).

Prequelle · 04/03/2019 11:00

Yeah a lot of women just do what they've always done, if they have always groomed they carry on and if they haven't they don't start. Some get their partners to do it pre birth. We don't give a toss though honestly

HJWT · 04/03/2019 11:14

@Miller2 I shaved before my scan, don't really know why? Lol I also shave before I give birth because i dread to think if I need stitches they couldn't see properly 😂😂😂😂

HJWT · 04/03/2019 11:15

@Miller2 also with the ultrasound it depends how many weeks you are, and if they can get a clear pic from outside if not they will go inside 😁

HJWT · 04/03/2019 11:19

I am 6+1 today and starting to feel a little more excited but I wont feel happy till 12 weeks just because iv seen so much MMC on this site now that I wont let my self get super excited 😩 playing with DD this morning though I know how lucky I am to even just have her 🥰😍

Needadoughnut · 04/03/2019 11:27

I just found out I won't get MP because I started my new job 18 days after the qualifying period boo!

Hello- Can I join too please? Think I’m 5+2 with my first, so due about 2nd November. As lots of ladies above are saying- feeling quite anxious about this early stage and really hoping it sticks. Mix of being thankful symptoms don’t seem to bad at the moment and worrying that they seem to come and go. But is definitely reassuring to see many of us are in similar boats.

28cookie · 04/03/2019 11:29

@Needadoughnut that’s rubbish, but presumably you’ll get MA. Not ideal but at least something?

Knickersononeshead · 04/03/2019 11:48

Morning everyone, this bloody sickness is driving me mad 🤮🤮

My calender is filling up already, 7 appts in the next 4 weeks. 5+6 today although feeling much further along and DH keeps winding me up saying its twins 😳

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 04/03/2019 12:00

Doughnut - that really sucks. I had a similar experience with DC2 (long story, but I was made to leave my job when pregnant and left before the qualifying period). It was tough as we’d budgeted for having (enhanced) maternity pay and then I just got maternity allowance. At least it is something though! Hopefully I will get mat pay this time, but it’s difficult because I need to leave my job around the qualifying period (25 weeks is as far as I can push it) and I’m really hoping they don’t do something to force me out sooner. After my experience with DC1 I won’t be telling work until as late as possible!

jacquesjacques · 04/03/2019 12:02

3+6, first child, fifth pregnancy. Due 12 Nov.

Had a termination ten years ago, followed by three mc in the past 8 months. One at 4 weeks, one at 4+5 and one mmc at 11+6 (baby stopped growing at 6+3). So I'm understandably very nervous at present. Although I promise not to be a downer!

Here's my line progression so far, think I'm 11dpo today.

Oh and I accidentally bought First Response Rapid Result tests instead of early result ones! So my BFP on 8dpo is very encouraging as hopefully it means things are progressing nicely.

Oh and hello, congratulations etc! I'll go and catch up on the thread now Smile

MrsPMT23 · 04/03/2019 15:15

Hello and welcome @jacquesjacques your lines are super strong. Everything crossed for you!

Just heard from the midwife and have my booking organised for 1st April. It was the midwife who delivered my DD which was nice. She said my first scan will most likely be the week before I go away on holiday but sort of convinced myself to book in for a private scan before too 🙈😂

thumper59 · 04/03/2019 16:14

I'm so nervous to book my scan Incase we get to it and they say there is nothing in there 🙄😬😬

Prequelle · 04/03/2019 16:25

Has anyone done a announcements yet?

My family know and everyone at work knows (they knew before me and are the reason I took a test - in work ha), but we haven't done an official announcement

Have an early scan (6+1) and was thinking that IF we are lucky enough to hear a heartbeat at this point we might announce it as the chance of MC is dramatically reduced.

Might this seem to early tho or....?

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 04/03/2019 16:48

Prequelle - are you a midwife or something similar? That’s so funny that they all knew. It must be so hard to see all the things that go wrong in pregnancy (I think you mentioned that earlier). Hopefully once you have a scan you can rule out things like ectopics. As for telling people, how would you feel about telling people if something goes wrong? Once we have a private scan, if things are ok I would tell family and very close friends, but only people I would tell immediately if something went wrong (I say “immediately” because I would probably be upfront full stop once I’d come to terms with things...but in those first few weeks I wouldn’t want to be retracting my news to the entire world! (Although I don’t know why I say “the whole world” as we didn’t tell 90% of the people we know that I was pregnant until DC1&2 were actually here Grin)).

Shefliesonherownwings · 04/03/2019 16:49

@Prequelle, DH and i were talking about announcements last night but we are waiting until 12 weeks as I'm so nervous about something going wrong so the less people that know for us the better. I've told a friend at work and I'm telling my sister tonight but we'll tell family after the scan and then everyone else after that. It's totally a personal decision, enjoy the excitement and happiness from everyone!

mum22soon23 · 04/03/2019 16:52

I'm due 4th November !! Probably a little earlier as I have c sections 😁😁😁 hi all !! Xx

Prequelle · 04/03/2019 16:57

thegruff I'm an RN on a female surgical ward, we have an emergency gynae clinic attached to us so we do the ward and the clinic. We get all the women who are below 17 weeks gestation. So my colleagues can sniff an early preg woman from a mile off! I only said I was tired and hungry ha.

sheflies that sounds sensible! I'm way too impatient I hate this part of myself because it's going to make pregnancy drag

amehh · 04/03/2019 16:59

@needadoughnut I'm the same! 1 week off of SMP but at least I'll get MA

@prequelle I'm getting an early scan too (on Sunday yay!) To check it's not in my tubes. Will be telling parents around 7-8 weeks. My best friends already know, one because I can't keep a secret and the other because we are bridesmaid dress fitting in 3 weeks and obvs I'll actually need a maternity dress!

thumper59 · 04/03/2019 17:00

We plan on telling family after 8 weeks when we have an early scan subject to everything being okay. I've told my best friend and I've told OH he can tell his best friend if he wants to but he has to tell him not to tell anyone! Just as he is as emotionally involved as me, if anything was to go wrong he is the person he would want to talk to so would be beside us either way, same with my best friend
