@sullywifey twins 😉

sunshine1987 · 01/12/2018 08:33

@crossfitgirl so glad to have you here ❤️

Ninunina · 01/12/2018 09:03

Welcome @Crossfitgirl ! Super news that you got your bfp now.
@SullyWifey I've always been sick early on all 4 times I've been pregnant. I've even felt sick before having a BFP! This time seems the mildest so far, except I feel extremely sick at night (which has never happened before)
Anyone know anything about the harmony test? Do you know at what stage you need to take it? I'm a bit nervous this time round since I'm 37 and this pregnancy was completely unplanned.

Whoopsies · 01/12/2018 09:04

Hi ladies. Can I very tentatively join? I got the biggest shock bfp yesterday! I supposedly have the copper iud in place but apparently it's not doing it's job properly!! The midwife at the hospital thinks it's more likely to have just fallen out rather than have gone further in if I can't feel the strings so fingers crossed that's the case and all will be fine. They've booked me in for a scan on the 21st when I should be 7 weeks to check all is ok. I'm not sure how I feel. Its not a total disaster at all, I'm happily married and we have a 5 year old ds so a second child is good really. I just feel so shocked and really anxious about it all!!

sunshine1987 · 01/12/2018 09:23

@whoopsies congratulations and welcome ❤️

Ninunina · 01/12/2018 09:45

Welcome @Whoopsies! I can relate a lot to you. This is also a super shock pregnancy for me. It will be my third child and my DH is not pleased with the news at all (he has taken it very badly).

I have come to terms with it and am quite excited about it (but also very worried because I'm 37 and am concerned about those risks).

Our reasons for not trying for a third were mainly financial. We don't live in the UK anymore and my kids attend private school which is a huge strain financially. A few months ago I would have been freaking out at the thought of a third school fee, but both DH and I have been promoted recently so we can probably scrape by with a few less holidays and some other changes. Thankfully we won't need to change too much else. We have the extra space at home, I already have quite a big car (which I was considering selling because it was feeling too big without a push-chair or two inside it). Childcare for working mums is free here til the child is 3, so I don't need to worry about that either.

Whoopsies · 01/12/2018 12:02

@ninunina sorry your dh isn't dealing too well. I was so worried about telling my dh but he was great. By the time I got it out he was just so relieved I wasn't telling him I was dying he was made up with the idea of another baby!! 😂 feeling quite sick today, but it's a good thing!!

mrsof20118 · 01/12/2018 12:03

@SullyWifey sorry to hear you are suffering with sickness. I'm still waiting for it to kick in over here x

aileenr · 01/12/2018 12:05

Hi everyone, joining this thread as I've also just recently found out and I'm due in August (3/8/19 according to NHS calculator, 5/8/19 according to Pregnancy+ app).

I had a negative test result first then a really faint line for 3 days in a row so we were nervous about what point to say, yes we're pregnant but I finally got a consistently stronger line and couldn't be happier.

Can anyone recommend some good pregnancy books yet?

dragonmummy17 · 01/12/2018 13:12

@Crossfitgirl @Whoopsies and @aileenr welcome and congratulations on your bfp.
aileenr I really like 'expecting better' by Emily Oster as she looks into lots of research and presents a balanced view

Nausea has been much stronger today. Luckily not actually been sick yet

Kileah18 · 01/12/2018 13:19

Anyone feel like they are forcing them selves to eat? I’m on my lunch break in work and ate a few bites but it’s turning me 😔 I know I need to eat but anything I get I seem to be having a few bites n then that’s it no sickness yet just no appetite when I start eating 🙄

SullyWifey · 01/12/2018 14:05

Oh my @sunshine1987 twins, can you imagine!!

@mrsof20118 honestly feel lucky you don't have it yet, I was not only sick this morning but also in the car on the way to get out Christmas tree. Had to pull over at the lorry stop on the motor way. Was all very dramatic haha. I just can't believe it's kicked in so soon for me, really don't want it to happen at work! I won't be able to get anyway with hiding it and my boss is going to be less than supportive when I announce. Which I'm dreading.

@Kileah18 I also have no appetite. Eating such small amount this week xx

Ninunina · 01/12/2018 15:45

I'm feeling like that @Kileah18 . Today I had a bit more of an appetite so we went out for lunch. I couldn't manage half of what I ordered and have been feeling sick ever since.

Bakingabean · 01/12/2018 16:56

@kileah18 I'm only hungry for savoury food. The thought of sweet stuff is turning my stomach especially in the morning. Weirdly sharp vinegar flavours make me feel so much better. And apples.

@aileenr I've just bought "The day by day pregnancy book" from amazon- it arrives this evening so I'll let you know if it's any good. I also bought "The Expectant Dads handbook" for DP too, so he doesn't feel left out!

Kileah18 · 01/12/2018 17:42

I think I’m hungry and then when I get food I can’t eat it! I don’t know if it’s maybe just nerves still from getting the bfp or something lol. How are yous all feeling I’ve just finished work (I’m a beautician) and we are going to chill and put the Christmas decorations up 😊 x

milly2000 · 01/12/2018 17:46

Evening ladies!

I'm getting a fair bit of creamy discharge. Is this normal. I keep running to the bathroom to check it's not blood or anything serious.

My body feels a bit foreign to me at the moment lol

Kileah18 · 01/12/2018 18:03

@milly2000 this was my next question to everyone! I keep feeling wet thinking my period has came but it’s white creamy discharge 🤔🤔

Fae1989 · 01/12/2018 18:11

@MrsH1990 - Sorry to hear that. I have everything crossed for us this time!

How is everyone this weekend? I'm just catching up. Very little to report in the way of symptoms - one boob hurts, just the one. Weird.

How often does everyone think they'll test now? I've taken about one test a day (which seems extreme but after a MC I'm a bit reluctant to get too excited).

Hope everyone's doing ok?

milly2000 · 01/12/2018 18:14

@Kileah18 if we're both having it that's a good sign. Anything normal is reassuring in my eyes🤞🏻

Fae1989 · 01/12/2018 18:44

@Kileah18 & @milly2000 - same here! I forgot about that but definitely have the same going on!

MrsH1990 · 01/12/2018 19:26

@Fae1989 yes fingers crossed for us both!

I'm not testing anymore! My two tests I done both in evening were very dark
Just scared though still! Keep going between petrified and excited.
Xxx

EverythingNow · 01/12/2018 19:28

@milly2000, @kileah18 and @fae1989 me too! I've been constantly checking!

EverythingNow · 01/12/2018 19:34

@fae1989 I'm really going to try stopping now. I'm 4wks5days and I'm getting 2-3wks and the test lines on cheapy is str9nger than the control so as good as it can be. But I sat there testing this morning and while the digi was taking it's time to decide how many weeks I thought what if it goes back to 1-2 and.the thought stressed me so much I thought I must stop doing this to myself. I've waited 18months for this i need to try and enjoy it so ive been doing affirmations and mindfulness.

Easier said than done tho!

Fae1989 · 01/12/2018 19:43

@MrsH1990 - Definitely!

I can't fault you - mine seem pretty dark but not as dark as I thought they'd be? I have nothing to judge them by to be honest. I might wait a few days and just take that one last test. I know what you mean re feelings, nothing feels real to me at the moment!

@EverythingNow - Sounds like we're all in the same boat, that can only be a good thing right (re the cm)? Fingers crossed all these beans are sticky ones!! According to the app I'm 4+4 and I'm only using Wilko & Asda's own which I know might not be that sensitive. I almost feel like I should get a digital just to affirm it in my mind! I don't really want to take anymore because of my guilt over how much plastic gets thrown away (so much so that I've kept a lot of the ones I've used to stop them going to landfill!)

Mindfulness and de-stressing have got to help, I think it's good to put our feet up and just relax now - it can only do good!! Hoping the next 2 months fly by and then the worry might ease a bit!

A side note - I forgot about a symptom! My skin is awful, like break-out city! Anyone else had this and remedied it easily?

x

Whoopsies · 01/12/2018 19:57

I won't test again. I splashed out and got a final digital and it came up with 'positive' there's no denying those so I'm happy with that. I got carried away with it with ds and I never got a strong line but I had a textbook perfect pregnancy! I'm just trying to relax and wait out the next few weeks. I am feeling really anxious this time round, but there's nothing that can be done!
