@Dotty356 that's great he's excited though 😃
Isn't it weird how once you know you are paranoid about everything? I feel like everyone knows but they definitely don't!
Although today a colleague was telling me about his wife's birth and it was the most horrific story I've ever heard... all I wanted to say was please don't tell me more! X

EverythingNow · 11/12/2018 20:41

I had my drs appointment today (6+1) he took my blood pressure (bit high but I've been stressed) weight - ouch I need high dose folic acid as my bmi is 35+ and sent off an ultrasound request.
I then booked mw appointment for 2nd Jan when I will be 9+2.

canonlyhopexo · 11/12/2018 20:58

How is everyone feeling in the evenings? I'm finding I start to feel really nauseous and just end up going to sleep to get rid of it not that it's difficult to sleep as I'm so tired. I just feel really "bleurghhhhh". Does anyone understand what I mean by that!? Feeling bit lonely and totally not myself tonight. Not sure if I'm feeling more sensitive as DP is out this evening.

canonlyhopexo · 11/12/2018 20:59

Also I phoned my GP and the receptionist booked me straight in with a midwife for this Thursday and I'll be 5+2. That seems really early to me?

KMic · 11/12/2018 21:07

@canonlyhopexo I just feel really tired by the evenings! My nausea tends to come in the morning but usually goes when I have eaten ... so gave just been eating none stop!!

First apt with the doctor on Monday when I will be 6 weeks - I guess the Christmas break will hold things up a bit with the MW apt after that! Just rolling with it though, trying to enjoy and not stress, it's my first ever pregnancy and we fell in the first month of trying so a bit she'll shocked really!

tri2mum · 11/12/2018 21:13

Been to my first midwife appointment today, not much happened, not quite sure what I was expecting but no weight or blood pressure was taken just test my pee.
Mentioned to her that I have been having dark brown discharge since Saturday which is now every time I wipe and she gave me number for local EPU. Phoned them and was told I couldn't self refer so now not sure whether I should phone the GP tomorrow and ask for a referral. Rightly or wrongly I've been doing a lot of reading on the internet since getting home and a lot of posts saying it should be alright, I've run a few times since Saturday so wondered whether this could be causing the discharge.
DH is being great and trying to keep me positive but with this being the first I can't help worrying.

avacadooo · 11/12/2018 21:13

@canonlyhopexo mine is coming in waves, I can't drink tea anymore cause it just tastes wrong and makes me feel so sick 💔

ScotsBaby2 · 11/12/2018 21:21

Today was test 4 and when it was positive I send a photo to OH. He said “oh another negative but this one has a faint blue line”. He didn’t realise that meant positive.

I’ve told 75 other women in my baby number 1 Mumsnet Facebook group! I’ve told no one else that I see day to day.

IrishCypriot · 11/12/2018 21:21

@canonlyhopexo I know exactly how you feel. In fact, I read your post and tears sprang to my eyes cos I feel exactly the same and am just so hormonal Blush

I am so happy and feeling so lucky that I don't like complaining about any symptoms, but by god I hope I'm symptom free on Xmas day at least as I want to enjoy all the food!

canonlyhopexo · 11/12/2018 21:22

@KMic first time for me too. My nausea seems to be opposite to you. It's first thing in the morning for a couple of hours then goes then comes back in the evenings and eating makes it worse even if I've cooked something I've fancied for tea!

@tri2mum I would go back to your GP and tell them to refer you just for your own peace of mind but I'm sure all is absolutely fine especially as it's brown - that's old blood so probably just having a little clean out so bubba is nice and snuggly. This is all first time for me too and its a very anxious time my DP is same as yours very positive and trying to remain calm but I do think at this stage it's easier for partners.

@avacadooo noooo you can't even have tea! I have found orange squash has been really helping me. What about trying that? You can just make a weak one if you're worried about overpowering flavour!

IrishCypriot · 11/12/2018 21:23

@avacadooo I haven't told work yet but I think I might just before Christmas as I am not coping too well with the mornings. I haven't been physically sick yet but just quite faint!

Sorry to hear that there are people on this thread receiving not so good news, lots of love to you all xx

canonlyhopexo · 11/12/2018 21:25

@IrishCypriot bless you lovely, I also feel same as you, feeling very lucky that this is happening and just hoping it will all go smoothly as we so want a baby. It's funny isn't it I keep feeling tearful off and on. I saw a video online of something I wouldn't usually cry at and I could just feel my bottom lip wobbling!

ScotsBaby2 · 11/12/2018 21:26

My GP surgery is not in the catchment of the hospital I want to give birth in so I need to have appointments with the midwife elsewhere. You don’t see the GP here unless it’s a medical issue such as HG or bloods come back low iron etc. The receptionist said the MW will want to see me between 6 and 8 weeks but all appointments are booked up so I’m waiting on a call.

Last time the midwife sent off a request for the scan and it came in the post for bang on 12 weeks. My date was changed at the scan to Christmas Eve from Christmas Day.

canonlyhopexo · 11/12/2018 21:27

@IrishCypriot I told my work a few days after I found out and I'm glad I did. Luckily they've been very understanding. I would tell them just in case you do need a sit down or have a little stumble if you're feeling faint. My colleague is also pregnant and if she's gone from her desk more than a few minutes we just make sure she's ok.

tri2mum · 11/12/2018 21:27

@canonlyhopexo thanks, think you are right a phone call to the GP first thing in the morning. Know what you mean about feeling bleurghhhhh though, usually worse in the morning for me.

KMic · 11/12/2018 21:28

@canonlyhopexo ... I literally cannot stop eating!! My appetite is ridiculously huge!! I always thought I would be really sicky if I got pregnant so I am quite surprised ... although I've read that it gets worse after 6 weeks ... so knowing my luck it will hit me hard right over the Christmas period and I'll miss out on the turkey! Haha

canonlyhopexo · 11/12/2018 21:30

@tri2mum yes anything to put your mind at ease and they will know exactly how you're feeling so I'm sure will also want to make you feel better by just checking to show you all is well. I can only describe it as bleughhh!!! Very technical term lol.

ScotsBaby2 · 11/12/2018 21:30

@canonlyhopexo my morning sickness last time was like that. I could only eat between 10am and 2pm. I was put on medication at 14 weeks. It was amazing. I could eat again. My HG meant that 3 days after birth I was at a lower weight than before I was pregnant. Make sure you are drinking lots of liquids and nice high energy foods. See your GP if it gets worse. There is a lot of medication available.

@IrishCypriot I would tell work. Even just one close colleague or a member of management that you trust.

IrishCypriot · 11/12/2018 21:31

@canonlyhopexo I watched a silly film on Netflix earlier that I should've laughed through but instead sobbed! I am definitely more in touch with my emotions right now. I keep thinking it all might be psychological as I can't be feeling like this so early on! But then I know it's different for everyone.

Thanks for advice re work, I think I will tell them soon. Have just asked for a payrise so wanted confirmation of that first before I said anything but health is more important atm!

canonlyhopexo · 11/12/2018 21:34

@KMic that's good you're not feeling off your food! Are you 5+1 today then?

IrishCypriot · 11/12/2018 21:35

@ScotsBaby2 thank you, and congratulations! I think ill tell the colleague who I travel with tomorrow at least, so she'll know to check on me if I'm not around x

KMic · 11/12/2018 21:40

@canonlyhopexo yup! So we are super close in timing!! I am feeling quite lucky that my symptoms aren't all that bad at the moment!! One thing I have noticed (prepare yourselves) is I have so much wind!! I'm not sure if that may just be related to eating everything in sight though! Blush

canonlyhopexo · 11/12/2018 21:40

@ScotsBaby2 thanks for the advice. Luckily at the mo I am managing to eat but I am worried that's not going to be the case the further I go. I'm only 5 weeks today so I thought it would be too early to be feeling anything although it has only been the last couple of days. Much like @IrishCypriot I've been wondering if it's psychological! It's a funny old thing this preggy business lol I wasn't expecting it to be like how it has been for me so far!! My boobs have been so sore off and on as well like a bruised pain on the side and round my nipples!? @IrishCypriot I hope you get your payrise that would be perfect timing. And as for Netflix... stick to comedies lol! My DP has just got home now and I was really pleased to see him. Have you got other bits you can do to maybe make you feel less emosh lol how about some Xmas wrapping up? X

canonlyhopexo · 11/12/2018 21:42

@KMic yes we're 1 day apart! How are you feeling in terms of any anxiety about things? I keep having nervous blips! Funny you should say about wind. I've been burping a fair bit! Which I'm always scared it's going to turn into a little sick session haha even though touch wood no sick has reared itself yet!

Triskaidekaphilia · 11/12/2018 21:45

Is it normal for symptoms to suddenly disappear? Confused I've had 8 days of really bad sickness and nausea whenever I'm moving and a couple of weeks of mild nausea before that. Today I'm 7 weeks and although I felt really sick in the night and when I first woke up, I had breakfast and felt totally fine for the rest of the day, still exhausted and sometimes wobbly but not sick at all. I should be enjoying a break from it but I can't help but worry just a tiny bit?
