@clairelee17 I was going to book a private scan, but I went to see the gp about bleeding and she referred me to the early pregnancy unit.

@KMic I am constantly starving, but at the same time my appetite is really funny and can't stand the thought of lots of foods. I've also completely gone off tea and coffee, I'd usually get through around 7 cups per day.

Triskaidekaphilia · 10/12/2018 15:01

Glad everything looks ok @MrsRyan15, we were also ttc for 18 months. It's still hard to believe sometimes!

Welcome @abw94, I requested a GP appointment, could have self-referred but as this is our first too, I wasn't too sure of everything, she just went through the basics like what to eat, useful websites, what symptoms I've had already and gave me the number for the midwife.

@KMic I'm always hungry too, get really sick of I don't eat all the time. But too much at once sometimes makes me sick too so I can't really eat til I'm full.

I've had some crampy feelings and a couple of (non-consecutive) days of brown spotting last week but not at the same time so think it is just everything stretching.

tri2mum · 10/12/2018 15:48

I'm new to all this so hopefully I'm worrying over nothing, had a couple of days of light brown discharge when I wipe (sorry if tmi), used to get something similar just before AF arrived. Think I'm about 5-6 weeks, seeing midwife tomorrow for first appointment but seem to be driving myself mad worrying at the moment. Should I take another test or will that not help?

Crossfitgirl · 10/12/2018 16:14

@tri2mum i took another test as my lines were very faint, but I worried so much about it that I waited a whole week to make sure it would def be darker! It was, and it was a massive reassurance.
I still have another clearblue which I want to do to see if the weeks go up, but haven't yet. It's scary isn't it? I've only known for 2 weeks. X

tri2mum · 10/12/2018 16:19

Thanks @Crossfitgirl Think I might send DH out later to pick another up. I've only known for 1 week and if this is how worried I am now not sure how I'll cope for another 30 or so!!! Trying to stay positive about it all and hopefully the midwife will reassure me tomorrow.

Crossfitgirl · 10/12/2018 16:20

@tri2mum this is a weeks difference between my tests. Do another if you're worried but make sure you have time between. I was super worried because the line stayed faint the day after my first test, but I clearly just needed a bit more time for HCG levels to rise xx

I called EPU to book in a 6 week scan as advised, and got off the call a wreck.
I had been thinking scary but miraculous, but the lady I spoke to I think is worried it's linked to last month's CP.

She said they will do a scan to rule out ectopic then bloods. Every where I have seen says it's too early to see anything apart from possibly a sac so I kind of would rather hold off, whilst I have no bleeding and still feel pregnant I had been feeling quite positive. I hadn't contemplated it could be linked to CP after the negative test I literally put that to bed.

It's first thing tomorrow, I'm praying for a sac in the right place, or at least nothing in the wrong place!!

Ninunina · 10/12/2018 17:02

You should be able to see the fetal pole and possibly even a heartbeat at 6 weeks @LouiseD2018 . I would go for the scan if they are worried about an ectopic. It's quite important to check these thing out.

I called the clinic and the earliest appointment I could get was next Monday. My original appointment is on Thursday 20th so I'll be closer to 8 weeks. I think I'd better keep the original appointment unless I see more brown because I've only had the tiniest amount and it's stopped now. Nausea has been quite bad today too, so that is reassuring me a bit (though I was still nauseous when I had a mc).

I might get another cb digital to make sure it still reads 3+ weeks. When I had a mc it went down to 1-2 weeks just before I started bleeding.

LouiseD2018 · 10/12/2018 17:14

Thanks @Ninunina I think I'm only 4 weeks, I'm pretty sure I ovulated late as my positive test was quite faint in comparison to DDs.
I'm thinking take seeing nothing as positive that it's not linked to last month and keep my fingers crossed for good blood results.

Nausea is pretty reassuring isn't it?! I struggled to walk down the high street at lunch the smell of hot food made me heave 🤢

Belle2008 · 10/12/2018 18:22

Fx for you Louise xx

abw94 · 10/12/2018 18:30

Just want to say this thread is making me feel so much more relaxed reading everyone else's symptoms. I've only known since Friday and the last two weeks now make a lot more sense with how I've been feeling.

Absolutely no idea how I'm going to get through the next month or so until we see the midwife. How quick do you get booked in with your midwife after speaking with your GP?

I'm normally picking at food all day at work and today I have hardly ate anything as the thought of food makes me feel sick. Still got dull belly ache but reading everyone else's side effects it sounds completely normal.

Already thinking of ways to tell friends and family - any ideas?! X

avacadooo · 10/12/2018 18:32

So I can't get a midwife appointment until the middle of January then a scan in February, currently 4weeks and 4 days and this is my first. Is it worth booking a private scan for £95 to give myself peace of mind and when should I do that? I was thinking at 8weeks?
The nhs up here are being quite shitty to me considering I already have Vasculitis and they aren't supporting me at all.
Sorry for gate crashing I'm just so lost and confused with everything, they won't even give me advice on anything at all which is so shit.

Blii · 10/12/2018 19:41

avacadooo I think I’m also 4 weeks 4 days, I am thinking of paying and having an early private scan. Just for reassurance, I was going to wait a couple more weeks, these first weeks are sooooo anxious! I’m willing on the sickness so I know something is going on, but at the same time I know it’s going to be awful Confused

avacadooo · 10/12/2018 20:01

Blii I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels anxious I'm so scared of everything including going to work at the minute invade something bad happens.
My husband has offered to pay for the scan so deffo going with so I can chill a bit.
It's all so exciting and scary at the same time!!😂

Kileah18 · 10/12/2018 20:27

Was kinda freaking out today! Seriously have anxiety over being pregnant was up all night googling ectopic pregnancies, can you feel them early on, how do you know etc. First baby for me & I have 3 best friends, 2 out of those 3 miscarried their first baby 😢. I was even googling to check other reasons why u can get positive pregnancy tests, took another digital today & it said 3+, 10 days ago it was 1-2 so I’m trying to chill & relax about it all! By my last period I will be 6 weeks tomorrow & have early scan booked for 23rd December. Just wish these scary weeks would hurry up 🙏

Lothirial · 10/12/2018 20:36

Did a test on thursday as my period was due and was shocked to see a bfp. Still did 3 more tests over the next couple of days lol. According to the due date calculator im due 12th august :)

Brownzy · 10/12/2018 20:42

@lothirial same due date!

I tested on Wednesday as I was waiting for my period.

Blii · 10/12/2018 20:44

August is going to be an exciting month. Congratulations ladies.

Lothirial · 10/12/2018 20:52

@brownzy yay bump buddies :)

@blii thank you its certainly going to be the most exciting month of my life :) and my bday month aswell

Brownzy · 10/12/2018 21:10

@avacadooo with my first I got a scan at 8 weeks as I just didn't believe I was pregnant! Plus we were going out with friends for dinner and no one would believe any reason I gave for not drinking.

It was incredibly reassuring and cemented the idea of being pregnant for us but as you are aware there are no guarantees what's on the 8 weeks scan will still be there by 12 weeks.

We paid 65 quid for a harley Street scan. It was lovely hearing a heart beat and the 12 week scan didn't seem like such a long wait

KMic · 10/12/2018 21:42

My process has been slightly delayed ... was booked in with my old GP for Friday morning, but got a call today to say because I had moved out of catchment area I need to register somewhere else. I considered keeping the apt anyway to get the ball rolling, but decided I wanted to start the journey in one place and not feel all over the place. Found a new GP and have signed up. Have to go in for a general medical before I can get an apt though - but I'm hopeful they will see me quickly when they know I'm pregnant with my first. Keen to get the tests for certain things out of the way before 10 weeks! Trying not to be too anxious about it all as I know stress isn't good, so just taking it in my stride ... but don't want to end up being delayed with scans etc because of it all!! Hopefully if I push for it I will be seen quickly and be allocated a nice midwife!!

starryeyed13 · 10/12/2018 22:01

Hi everyone, loving reading everyone's posts! Congratulations to all who have BFPs.

Am tentatively joining this thread after 2 BFP tests which I'm over the moon about (but also slightly shocked - I have PCOS and DH and I have only just started trying).

Don't know exactly when I'm due, suspect it might be early days (I am 14 DPO which means if all goes well baby will be due in August!)

In terms of symptoms, for the last week or so I had this weird kind of fluttering in my lower stomach. Only other symptom so far is very tender boobs (although both of those symptoms have lessened a bit today!)

Have to say though, I am feeling super anxious. Having read so much about everything that can go wrong I'm trying not to get too excited. Confused

Ninunina · 11/12/2018 08:58

I think it might be over for me. I've had a tiny bit of red blood today. I don't think things are looking good. My doctor told me to call him when he's out of surgery at 2pm and hopefully he'll squeeze me in tomorrow. This was before I saw the red smear, so he might tell me to come today instead.

KMic · 11/12/2018 09:23

@Ninunina Sadso sorry to hear this chicken. Sending love xx

Notanotherpawpatrol · 11/12/2018 09:42

Keeping my fingers crossed for you nin. I really hope all is well xx
