@starsong82 awww lovey sending you good vibes for the 13th!! My birthday is the 16th and our baby is due the 24th so busy January! 😂

jadem1990 · 10/11/2018 20:22

I'm due on the 15th of Jan and only recently I've finally had the bump that I've been waiting for! Nearly 31 weeks and only starting noticeably showing to everyone last week. Seems to have grown very quickly in a short amount of time. We picked up our travel system today too... all getting very real now!! I cant wait to meet our little one... he or she is very active! Hope everyone else is feeling ok x

HolDaws · 11/11/2018 15:16

I'm also due on the 15th Jan with my first! Really excited but a bit nervous too. Also had a low lying placenta at 20week scan so going back on the 23rd November for a scan to check and then the drs will decide whether c section or not x

ladydanger · 12/11/2018 13:13

Anybody hit with sudden extreme exhaustion in their 3rd trimester? I'm 29 weeks and since about 28 weeks I feel like I'm back to 1st trimester tiredness!

Curlypop · 12/11/2018 14:03

Come 2ish in the afternoon I could do with going to bed! 31 weeks here. Feeling ok apart from soooo tired!

Hattie1983 · 12/11/2018 16:26

I was feeling absolutely shattered this weekend but overnight tonsillitis hit me hard! So think that's why I was so tired. X

jadem1990 · 12/11/2018 16:47

I had my 31 week apptm today. All seems ok and got to hear the heartbeat finally. It's taken me forever to pop but it seems as if I finally have as my bump is now measuring bigger than average. Little one was playing hide and seek for a while. Midwife discussed the position and apparently I am longitude and head down. Seems a bit early but what do I know as a FTM? 9 weeks tomorrow! It's all going too fast. In terms of tiredness I have certainly felt different to the 2nd but nothing compared to the 1st trimester. Hope all is ok x

RiskIt4Biscuit · 12/11/2018 17:16

I think it's quite normal for baby to have head down at 31 weeks. I had my 31 week appointment last week, and baby is also head down here - and the GP was happy about that.

I'm being monitored for pre-eclampsia because of my blood pressure, and I am absolutely terrified about it. Currently, my only symptom is my blood pressure, and they are clearly very keen on catching any issues early, but I am absolutely terrified about it all the time and I cannot stop worrying.

Regarding tiredness, I am shattered. I am tired, have no energy and not sleeping well and it's driving me insane, and on top of that, I am so incredibly emotional and frustrated with everything.

ruthieruthuk · 12/11/2018 17:24

Hello everyone.

Due January 2nd and proper suffering with Sciatic pain in my butt and lower back pain, had a scan two weeks ago when I was 30+4 and baby was measuring 4lbs 3oz I think it was! I'm now 32+5. I've tried hot baths, laying on my bed which eases it a bit after time, any other tips? I don't really want to by referred to the hospital for physio as I have been down that path with previous pregnancies so know the stuff already and tbh don't really have time either as I'm already mum to 4boys! Luckily hubby around some of the time to help, currently sat on the sofa waiting for him to come in from the office xx

harrypotterfan1604 · 12/11/2018 17:51

Hi @ruthieruthuk
Your due two days before me! I suffered really badly with sciatic pain I also have spd so that’s not helping. The only relief for me has been rest I’m afraid. I’ve finished work so have been spending my days resting and honestly I’m virtually pain free now. I wish I had a better answer as a mum to 5 boys already I doubt rest is going to be something that’s easy for you to do 🙈 xx

ruthieruthuk · 12/11/2018 18:49

@harrypotterfan1604

Thank you for your reply.

So are you due 4th January? I'm wondering if we may have some Xmas babies here, lol!

Yes I find rest helps also, like on a morning it's always slightly better but then it just kicks off more as the day goes on, I'm trying to get organised and ready for the arrival of another baby but I'm finding a days work is now getting spread out over several days!

That's brilliant your feeling better and pretty much pain free! Jealous!

Ruth x

harrypotterfan1604 · 12/11/2018 21:14

Yes I’m due on 4th jan. I’m keeping everything crossed (legs included😂) to pray this baby doesn’t make an appearance on Xmas day. Any other day would be fine but Xmas day is my absolute favourite day of the year plus it would be crap for the baby to come on Xmas day too.
I’m also training to be a nurse and can’t ask for every Xmas day off so a birthday on Xmas day would be pretty naff :(

Pelly8 · 12/11/2018 21:57

@ruthieruthuk I’ve been suffering from sciatic pain in my hip and I found swimming really helped but i’ve been so exhausted in my third trimester I haven’t had the energy to go!

Lying down helps as does applying some gentle pressure to the area (I use a ball).

I’m 31 week and have been feeling absolutely shattered. Over the past few days i’ve been feeling achy, shivery, hot and cold and have been having tummy problems but i’ve not had a cold or other flu like symptoms so not sure what it could be. The midwife said it might be a gastric issue or it could be a nasty cold waiting to pounce (please not either 🙏)

Baby seems fairly active but then I’m now not sure if it’s my gut trying to get to work 🤷🏽‍♀️ I’ve been feeling rhythmic kicking for the past hour so he’s been more active than usual. Praying this bug goes away soon!

I’m also hoping baby isn’t a Christmas one! I’m due on 10 Jan!

ruthieruthuk · 12/11/2018 22:36

@Pelly8 I never thought of swimming tbh, I did take my toddler swimming a few weeks ago maybe longer but that was before I started with the sciatic pain, but like you I'm struggling with energy levels also, so when i do get a spurt of this rare gold dust I like to put it to productive use!

My mum has suggested a hot water bottle and kindly brought one over from hers for me to use, so I've been trying that out tonight as well as my hot bath, but it's only a short temporary relief however I am going to persist with it for now.

Doc prescribed me some dydracodine to take in my last pregnancy as my last baby was huge so I seem to suffer a lot earlier with pain, etc.. I suffered from GD in my last pregnancy but I've tested clear in this one, yeeeyyy!! However I don't really like to take it because it can pass through the placenta and cause drowsiness to the baby which isn't great as I don't always feel movements having an anterior placenta so don't want to cause that to be any worse x

ruthieruthuk · 12/11/2018 22:38

@Pelly8 just curious, have you had the flu jab recently? As I've heard that can cause some flu like symptoms..

Pelly8 · 13/11/2018 07:00

@ruthieruthuk that’s great you don’t have GD! And a hot water bottle is a good idea!

I had the flu jab mid October so don’t think it could be that. I’ve woken up with some abdominal pain but think it’s my gut rather than the baby. I have a midwife appointment scan tomorrow so hopefully they will be able to tell me more!

Tadda · 13/11/2018 07:10

I'm due 9th Jan - but scan on the 28th Nov at 34 weeks as still Placenta Previa (as of 30 weeks)- plus they've (just!) found a 10cm fibroid with some red degeneration just above pubic bone - SPD now kicking my arse again, baby transverse.. bad constipation and piles.....Sorry, ranting! Back pain kicking in and feel really yuck today....

Chances are C-section at 37 weeks (baby No 4 and didn't ever really want a C-section, DD1 only 14months and v busy girl so have no idea when they say 'rest after' whether that's really realistic!) But no option - on plus side that makes it the week before xmas so (Hoping all goes well!!!!) home for then -

:(

Rarfy · 13/11/2018 11:33

Hey tada we spoke on my other thread!

I'm 29wks today with placenta preavia. Scan last week showed cervix is bang in the middle so not much chance of becoming clear so looking like a csection at 37wks for me. Will be around 8th Jan!

Lovely to see everyones updates. I am managing ok so monitoring movements scares the life out of me though especially with placenta where it is.

Getting stressed with work too but luckily only 5wks left today. Doesnt seem to be any handover planned at the moment so doesnt look like i will get chance to wind down.

Hattie1983 · 13/11/2018 15:31

I have been suffering with sciatica pain but only at night, it's horrible so feel for all those also suffering. Have you tried ice packs, they may help relieve the inflammation. I also try distraction techniques like watching soaps on my phone when it's really bad, I think the tension from being in pain makes it worse

RiskIt4Biscuit · 13/11/2018 18:46

Sorry to hear that you're suffering with sciatica pain and SPD. It sounds absolutely terrible.

Are any of you on Labetalol/Trandate for high blood pressure? If so, what are your experiences?

I've been prescribed this today as my blood pressure is borderline.

On top of that, I'm suffering from my 3rd UTI without symptoms. Oh, such fun.

On a more positive note, I'm getting married tomorrow Grin

Rarfy · 13/11/2018 18:57

Oooh good luck for tomorrow. How exciting! Hope you have a lovely day.

ruthieruthuk · 13/11/2018 19:10

@RiskIt4Biscuit

Oh wow and congratulations for tomorrow!

Not on anything for blood pressure no, touch wood not had any problems in that department xx

ruthieruthuk · 13/11/2018 19:12

@Pelly8

How are you feeling and how was the Midwife appointment? I think mine is next week..

RiskIt4Biscuit · 13/11/2018 21:13

Thank you!

Pelly8 · 13/11/2018 21:28

@riskit4biscuit congratulations and hope it all goes well tomorrow!

@ruthieruthuk I made a massive error and midwife and scan appointments are tomorrow 🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m not feeling great though. Really hoping this gastric issue goes away. I used a hot water bottle on my hip and it really helped with the sciatica so thanks for the tip!
