@le42 that’s good you’re still getting good days. Must help keep you a little positive. Stairs are the devil! when you see the physio next ask them about the crutches. They should give you some good pain relief as well.

I had bought a really nice snow suit from Mama and Papas for bringing baby home. It was ridiculously overpriced and we have now realised we actually can’t use it when he’s in the car seat! So now we have a little onesie, Cardi and hat and just going to use blankets to keep him cosy. We got our first snow here today so I can see it being a cold one.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 15/12/2018 23:30

My antenatal class teacher showed us a little blanket that can be used in car seats - it seemed quite handy: morrck.com/
There might be other brands that make the same thing.

I must admit that I barely remember what I've bought for him - it's all packed in bags, waiting to be washed and put away.
My mum did buy a little woolly onesie that isn't too thick, so he should be able to wear that home in the car. He'll probably wear a little cotton sleep suit or similar underneath, and a little hat.

I also don't know what sizes to bring, so I'll probably bring a couple of different outfits so there's a selection of sizes.

harrypotterfan1604 · 16/12/2018 08:20

I have packed 3 normal sleepsuits and vests was going to just choose one of them for coming home with a knitted cardigan and a hat but it’s gotten really cold so I am thinking to see if I have a slightly thicker one I think I do. I’m a member of staff at the hospital where we aren’t having baby so will be parked in the staff car park as it’s free so the idea is DP brings me and baby down to the reception doors leaves us inside and nips for the car so we won’t actually be outside much anyway.

I feel so much better today, I had a decent amount of sleep managed to sleep solidly from 11ish til 2.30am but woke up cold so popped an extra blanket on and went back to sleep til 5 when I had to get up for a wee and even managed another couple of hours after that. It’s a record to get that much sleep!

I’ve been having labour signs for a few days or so I thought, spoke to a few friends who’ve had babies who think it’s pissible signs of early labour too but they seems to have gone this morning too 🙈 I’m still hopeful to have baby in the next week! Come on baby it’s time to come now!

mariaclancy1 · 16/12/2018 08:58

Hi girls

Super new to this tread but I thought I did say hello, I'm due the 27th of January, pregnancy is going ok I have SPD which has slowed me down loads, I find it very frustrating because all I want to do is clean and organise!! My parents are coming over from Ireland next weekend for Christmas which I'm really excited about and they might help calm me lol!! My boyfriend has been fantastic and ever so patient I think it someone else's turn!!

I have been getting really low almost period pain cramps in my lower belly for the past week now, wondering if they are Braxton hicks as I'm only 34 weeks I'm a little worried!!

le42 · 16/12/2018 09:32

Hi Maria - I’ve had the exact same thing and due 24th - they are there for about 15 mins then it seems to go..... not sure they are Braxton Hicks but I figure if it’s anything serious I would know by now! 😂

Thanks everyone for the clothing advice, that’s what I’d packed just wanted to sanity check!

67oonkin · 17/12/2018 20:36

So I took everyone’s advice and contacted the community midwife today and she kindly popped in as she had some free time and thankfully I did! She took my BP and it was 177/107!! I had a headache and she found protein in my urine so I was sent straight to hospital. I was diagnosed right away as having preeclampsia BUT after a few hours my blood pressure came way back down. Blood tests came back and I was told they were all fine so I was sent on my merry way and told to go back if I started to feel “different”. I get to the car park and get a call from the hospital. The registrar looked at my bloods and they are elevated so I’m now going back in xmas eve for further testing. The constant ups and downs of this pregnancy are exhausting! Baby has also moved to a breech position so my early induction feels like it’s gettinf further away. Hope everyone else’s Monday was a little better than mine 😊

harrypotterfan1604 · 17/12/2018 21:23

I’m glad you got checked out. What a pain for you though but better to be safe than sorry xx

67oonkin · 17/12/2018 22:06

I think the doctor thought I was crazy when she told me I didn’t have preeclampsia and I started crying lol. I’m one of these people who needs answers and a reason for things. Maybe I just need to embrace I’ve reached the crazy, irrational pregnant lady stage 😂

AimseyR · 17/12/2018 23:28

Hi everyone, I'm new to this and a latecommer at 36+5 today. Gosh, some of you sound like you're having a rough time of it but lovely to read how supportive and helpful everyone is.
How prepared are you all feeling about everything?
I'm starting to feel anxious and a bit stressed now - work is so busy at the moment and I keep thinking about more things I need to buy for baby or me and then Christmas too - I could really do without work and / or Christmas at the moment! I'm trying to do some hypno birthing methods from a book I have and sourcing some essential oils too, but it would be great to hear how you're all getting prepared and techniques for feeling calm about everything.

harrypotterfan1604 · 18/12/2018 08:36

Hi @AimseyR ...welcome to our lovely group :) it’s a good place to air any worries or just have a right old moan for no reason!
I’m completely ready, got everything we need now and have finished wrapped and distributed most of the Christmas presents now. I’m 37+4 and desperate for baby to make an appearance soon I’m so fed up :(
When are you finishing work? I finished early due to health issues and I am a little bored now if I’m honest 🙈 looking forward to my DP finishing work in Friday x

Merrz · 18/12/2018 09:15

I packed my hospital bag at the weekend and got the nursery totally ready, everything washed/ironed in its right place Smile and i feel so much more organised now.
This is my last week at work and it's super stressful, i think it also being everyone else's last week before xmas isn't helping because everyone is trying to get things finished up. So i'm just trying to get myself through the next few days then it'll be fine!

AimseyR · 18/12/2018 23:00

Thanks for the welcome @harrypotterfan1604 Grin
So jealous - you sound as organised as I wish I was! I'm finishing work on Thursday / Friday, depends how productive the next couple of days are, although I have an interview for a new job in that time too...everything has come at the wrong time! You won't be fed up soon, all the good films and TV are coming up and there will be more people around to spend time with - hang in there x

yazzyb · 19/12/2018 09:47

Hi All,

Really late joining and new to all this i'm 36+2. Struggling with pelvis pain but thankfully finishing work on Friday!! Hoping to get more organised with everything once work is over with!

Hope you're all coping okay Smile x

ladydanger · 19/12/2018 14:54

Hi everyone! Had my 34 week midwife appointment today and apparently the head is engaged :O I hope this doesn't mean the bub will arrive early... would like her to keep on cooking until my due date!

RiskIt4Biscuit · 19/12/2018 17:37

I’m officially full term today - 37 weeks.

Saw my midwife earlier, amd everything seems fine. Baby is back to back though, but she didn’t say that his head is engaged, so he will probably have a chance to move.

Curlypop · 19/12/2018 19:14

Who's on the raspberry leaf tea? I drank it last time so may as well!

rach2713 · 20/12/2018 16:43

Well ladies I think nesting has well and truly set it. Cinderella ain't got nothing on me I have just cleaned my whole house from top to bottom and even managed to wrap some presents need to wait for husband to get the rest from the loft tonight.

@Ladydanger I'm 36±5 days and my lil girl has been head down since 29 weeks had a scan at 34 weeks and couldn't even see her face as she was facing my back and her head was so low. I was thinking I would go early but not yet. it's so uncomfortable that she is head down feels like she is going to fall out lol..

le42 · 20/12/2018 17:21

Eeee just finished my last day! I work freelance for different companies and decided going back after Christmas would be awful so I’m finishing at 35 weeks!

So relieved because went for a midwife appointment today and baby is measuring absolutely huge. I’m really starting to feel the strain on my back - plus I’ve had SPD since 20 weeks so overall - I’m just like an enormous lumbering penguin 😂

How is everyone feeling about Christmas? X

harrypotterfan1604 · 20/12/2018 17:51

@Curlypop I’m drinking it, have been since 34 weeks upped it once I hit 36 weeks though. Do you think it made any difference last time? I know you can’t be 100% sure but just wondering. My friend is convinced it helped with both hers.

@le42 glad you’ve finished work you’ll honestly feel so much better for it!
I love Christmas and am looking forward to it, all my gifts are bought wrapped and distributed now, we are ready for baby to arrive. DP finishes work tomorrow for Xmas and then isn’t going back til 22nd jan so we have lots of time off together which will be lovely! I was hopeful for a pre Christmas baby but so far it’s not looking good. If baby doesn’t come this weekend I would really like him/her to please hold on until after Christmas Day at least 🤷🏼‍♀️ Bouncing on my ball as we speak to encourage the little stubborn thing to come along soon 😃

Curlypop · 20/12/2018 19:08

@harrypotterfan1604 I had a difficult induced birth last time but I dilated quite well after 4cm I went rather quickly so it could of done! I like the taste anyway so may as well x

AimseyR · 20/12/2018 22:16

@le42 can't wait for that feeling when I finish work tomorrow (37+2), are you excited too @Merrz @yazzyb ? It's quite emotional saying goodbyes though! Feel like I'll be able to relax and enjoy Christmas then though, there's just been too much going on to this point. Will try not to relax too much though, as that's when baby likely to arrive and I'd like a little bit of 'me time' first if I can!

AnxiousMama101 · 20/12/2018 22:21

Hiya guys. Bit late to the party but I'm due 1st Jan and currently 38+2. No signs of anything happening yet!
Was hoping for pre Christmas bub but just don't want baby boy born 24th or 25th! But just know it'll probably happen 😂

How's everyone doing? X

le42 · 21/12/2018 11:11

Question ladies - I went for midwife appointment yesterday my 36 week but I’m actually 35 weeks. She has written on my notes Relation to Brim 3/5 - surely this doesn’t mean the baby is close does it?!

He is measuring absolutely massive, 97th percentile after 5 scans through the pregnancy, 6lbs at 33 weeks and my fundal height was 39cm at the 35 week appointment yesterday. I know it can all be very inaccurate but I can’t help but think yikes!!!

ladydanger · 21/12/2018 12:03

@rach2713 thanks for that - I'm sure she’s been engaged for far longer as I’ve felt the pressure down below for weeks!
