@Kate123cl it's very normal with your first to not look pregnant at this stage. With DS1 I didn't show until 22weeks, with this pregnancy I started showing at 12 weeks

sexnotgender · 28/08/2018 06:59

Starting to get some truly excellent hip and back pain, hope it's just a phase and not the start of something!

Got my anomaly scan tomorrow and absolutely bricking it!

Kate123cl · 28/08/2018 07:12

@Westieandlittleboymama Thank you, that's reassuringSmile I think I'm just very impatient haha!

sqoodles · 28/08/2018 07:12

My scan is tomorrow too sex, I'm desperate to get it out of the way! Hope your pain eases. I've had the rib pain recently as the ribs expand to make more room.

I've not felt any movements for a day or two after having felt lots for the last few weeks so I'm very anxious to get in there tomorrow morning.

raffat89 · 28/08/2018 10:16

Hi everyone,

Going to try and stop being such a lurker now I'm settling into the second trimester. I'm 18+5 and due 24th Jan. Got our anomaly scan on Monday, so very much looking forward/nervously waiting for that.

I've got an anterior placenta like a few others have mentioned, so placing that down to not too many movements yet, but starting to feel the odd pop and flutter that I haven't felt before, so guessing it's the baby.

@kate123cl I'm exactly the same :) in certain clothes it's slightly showing but I'm still fitting into most of my old things. Looking forward to my bump popping out, although I'm sure when the third trimester hits I'll look back on not showing much and being able to move easy with great envy.

Hope everyone's upcoming scans go well and loving that people's partners are starting to feel it too. Something I'm really looking forward too :)

Kate123cl · 28/08/2018 10:33

@raffat89 Nice to know someone's in the same boat! We're close in due dates too, I'm due on the 25thSmile

cryptonaut · 28/08/2018 12:12

Feeling a little jealous of those saying they can still fit into most of their old clothes! Wink I went through my entire wardrobe yesterday to take out the clothes that don't fit anymore, it was a little depressing to see that approx 75% of my old stuff is now way too small, only the baggy/loose clothes fit now. Into storage it goes, will be a good motivator to lose the baby weight next year though

huskiie · 28/08/2018 12:38

Hi everyone,

Due on the 31st Jan and have my 20 week scan in a few weeks, so excited to find out the gender!

Not sure if I have felt any movements yet but still early days!

beccii161016 · 28/08/2018 13:25

@sqoodles @sexnotgender good luck today! I hope your scans go well!

@Cali13 I'm due 29th too! Fingers crossed they both arrive on time and don't end up being February babies Grin

Buttercup53 · 28/08/2018 13:56

@cryptonaut I’ve done the exact same thing, as I was finding it quite frustrating seeing all my clothes and knowing I can’t fit into them. I’ve got maybe 5 pieces now that fit from before and it’s all meant to be worn ‘oversized’. Optimistically hoping my winter jumpers are gonna fit but with the rate I’m expanding I doubt it! Even my pj’s are too tight. Ordered more maternity clothes last night, as I’m cycling through the same 4 tee shirts and 1 pair of jeans every week, but I don’t have a bottomless bank account to keep up with it! Also wearing a lot of DH’s stuff around the house but they’re getting tight too... Confused

SophieStripe · 28/08/2018 18:53

Where is everyone ordering clothes from? I'm not doing too badly, first baby and just starting to show at 21 weeks but it could also be too many pies to those that don't know! I'm rotating the same 5 work dresses that are wrap dresses so work pretty well. I think in another month or so though they will need to be swapped! I also have 20 week scan on Monday. Totally bricking it as we were told at 12 week scan our baby has a leaky heart valve that may or may not resolve itself. If it hasn't, I'm not sure what the next step is. I hope so much it has repaired itself! I have an anterior placenta but am feeling lots of kicks, nothing that can be felt by anyone else though!

GinGeum · 28/08/2018 21:12

I’ve bought maternity jeans and leggings from Asda that are really good (£14 for jeans!) - H&M look like they have some lovely stuff but I just went for the cheaper asda version Wink

I’ve also found that a lot of my normal clothes should hopefully last me for a while longer yet. I like wearing long, loose shirts with leggings or skinny jeans and they seem to have lots of room still.

Good luck at your scan on Monday Sophie - hoping all is well!

Westieandlittleboymama · 28/08/2018 22:32

Good luck to those with scans today! How did they go? I am now in H&M leggings and jumpers- definitely in pregnancy body now!Grin

Pelly8 · 28/08/2018 22:55

Hello everyone! I’m due Jan 10th and have my scan on Friday!!
I’ve been feeling little flutters over the past few days in my lower tummy area but not sure if it’s wind. Baby seems to be quite active at night!

Clothes wise, I can’t fit into any of my work clothes anymore. I bought some decent maternity jeans from H&M in the sale (£10 bargain). I found some jeans in the sale in new look for £3 but they were too small and flares Confused

Hope all is well!!

SamSmithYawnsWhenHeSings · 28/08/2018 23:06

Hello all!! I am 19 weeks pregnant with my second child, due 24th Jan. keeping my head down for each milestone- got anomaly scan in a couple of weeks.

I have been feeling flutters from early on in the pregnancy but now they have become more of a pattern. DS has felt the movements which has been lovely!

I'm feeling well in myself apart from the odd lower back pain and I am more hormonal than usual and am quite sensitive, crying quite easily! Anyone else experienced this?

Pelly8 · 28/08/2018 23:15

Am feeling all over the place with my emotions!! I cried when I listened to a George Michael song the other day haha!

I’ve been a bit negligent and haven’t read any books or thought about buying baby things yet. I had a quick look at prams online and got completely bamboozled by the choice (and cost bloomin heck). Has anyone started buying this stuff yet???

EyeDrops · 28/08/2018 23:43

👋🏼👋🏼 Hi all, sorry I've not been on since the first thread started!

19+1 now. I definitely have a sizeable bump (second child, and I had a huge bump with my first too), and am starting to feel more regular movements. It still feels like a tickle on the inside, nothing stronger yet, though I felt just one from outside last week.

I also have raging heartburn Sad Forgot how rotten it is - so many of my favourite foods are off limits already as they make it worse!

Nothing bought yet... not even started looking... poor old second child!

GinGeum · 29/08/2018 07:26

Pelly if you need any help choosing a pram/buggy, I’ve used a lot over the years if you have any questions! It’s always worth looking at second hand too to keep costs down.

Wowthisisreal · 29/08/2018 08:05

@Pelly8 I found looking at Prams completely overwhelming too! We went to a specialist shop and just asked for some advice and they were fab! There is a BIG height difference for me and Hubby and we like to go on long walks so needed quite a diverse pram. We went for the Uppababy Vista in the end which was over our budget but by far the best option for us. Super light for me me (without feeling flimsy!) great extension on handles for DH, compatible with the car seat we wanted, folded super small (and easily!) and good tyres.

Is anyone feeling like they are not looking that pregnant. Honestly it's starting to stress me out a little seeing bump photos and a bump is clearly visible. Mine hasn't 'rounded' yet and without clothes on I just look untoned and like I'm putting on a few pounds! With clothes on it's a bit better as I guess it gives it shape? Getting lots of moving though and I can clearly feel / see when baby has moved. Midwife didn't seem concerned at 17 week app and I'm 18+6 today.

I'm a size 10-12 normally and I lost a lot of weight before becoming pregnant (down from a 16/18) but I didn't really buy lots of new clothes in smaller size as I knew I'd start getting bigger again! Should I be in maternity clothes already? There's nothing I'm too big for yet (even my size 10 work skirt!) and I'm still fitting into size 14 skinny jeans and shorts easily...

sneakpeek1414 · 29/08/2018 08:37

Hi.

Could I join please? Due 3rd jan!

First baby and I think I've been feeling movements on and off! Sometimes I feel nothing at all!

Buttercup53 · 29/08/2018 08:50

@wow I didn’t for ages and ages and then around 20 weeks everything just popped out almost over night. I also lost a lot of weight before pregnancy however I threw away all of my larger clothes for smaller sizes which is why I’m struggling now. You might not need maternity clothes until a lot later - all of my size gain has been on my stomach and chest, which is why I feel like I specifically need maternity clothes as they fit the same across shoulders/bum/legs etc, but have loads more room just at the front for bump and boobs. Everyone gains differently so don’t worry!

Anyone looking for maternity clothes I really like New Look as they’re the same designs as ‘normal’ clothes just with extra bump space. They were the only store in my area that actually had some in store as well - I normally love H&M but the sizes are so varied that I’m cautious about ordering anything online (as I’m lazy about sending stuff back).

Re prams - its really stressing me out! Especially the car seat and car fitting. We’ve been given an ISOFIX base but I don’t think it’ll fit into my car as it’s 2009 but should fit in DHs 2016? With the prams themselves, I’ve seen a silver cross I love he look of but I have no idea how to use it or how practical it is. I always thought I’d get a bugaboo but haven’t seen one in the flesh. They’re so expensive that I don’t just want to go on looks but as they’re all tagged up I can’t wheel any around the store or practice taking them apart (maybe my area is just really rough or is that standard?!).

GinGeum · 29/08/2018 08:57

Butter Bugaboos are really lovely to push. They are also really popular so they are sold second hand quite often if you didn’t want to fork out for full price. The only thing that annoys me is that it folds in two parts, but that’s hard to avoid with any travel system really!

Kate123cl · 29/08/2018 08:58

@Buttercup53 Which silver cross pram are you looking at? We've bought the silver cross wayfarer and we love it! The car seat is a tad bit heavy but the pram itself and carrycot is lovely. We found a lot of other branded prams to be quite narrow? The silver cross ones seem a bit wider and also the handle bar extends quite a bit longer than most (very tall DP). We've got the isofix base and our car is an 11 plate. Definitely should fit a 2016 modelSmile

GinGeum · 29/08/2018 09:02

Im thinking of buying the Doona car seat, has anyone seen them? I think it might solve my problem of long walk from drive to front door, but with no space in house to store a pram... and also solve the problem of how to fit two dogs plus pram in boot! I don’t think I’ll use a pram often enough to justify buying a proper travel system, but this looks like it could be handy for the odd GP visit/supermarket dash.

Jigglyjugs · 29/08/2018 09:09

Morning everyone! My stomach has popped out a little, but in the morning it just looks bloated. At least by evening it's a bit more solid!
My MIL has kindly bought us our pram, the Ickle Bubba Stomp v4 which looks amazing online, but until it's here I won't know what it's like. No where seems to stock it around here!
@Buttercup53, John Lewis have buggies that you can push around, if you have one nearby?
