Has anyone found a return of stomach issues as they’ve gone further along? 27 weeks now, the last few days I keep feeling sick (not like I’m going to be, just uncomfortable stomach and queasy). I’m waking up more frequently with really quite painful acid reflux, and even though I’m hungry most of the time, I can barely eat anything before I feel uncomfortably full. Is this just par for the course as the baby gets bigger, so rather than it being hormonal like the first trimester, it’s more a case of my stomach being physically affected? For the moment I feel better dealing with this version of pregnancy nausea than the first trimester because that felt more like constant travel sickness I could never shake, whereas there is some respite from this... I just really hope it doesn’t get worse!

@buttercup53 I have lost my appetite but I don't feel sick. If I do eat I feel full quite quickly.

I do feel really out of breath all the time, even when sitting down!

Does anyone else have a cat? We have an indoor cat and my husband has been changing the litter tray. I haven't been worried about toxoplasmosis until recently when the cat decided she'd like to sleep by my head with her bum pointed towards me...! We try and keep her out of the bedroom but she cries until we let her in and then she loves rolling around on the pillows.

Pram-wise, we have decided to go for the Babyzen Yoyo. We live in the inner city and will probably use a sling as much as possible. I just love how light and easy to fold it is!

Buttercup53 · 06/10/2018 10:45

@pelly I also get out of breath all the time, went on a dog walk yesterday and I was puffing and panting after about 2 minutes of really slow walking. Everything feels squashed up.

RE the Facebook group, I’ve kindly been added and it seems like a really great community (just in case anyone was unsure about joining), would be nice to see even more familiar names though understand Facebook is a contentious network!

@buttercup I’ve had a sudden onset of reflux too and I can not sleep past 2/3am no matter what time I go to bed. It’s awful.
I feel full much faster but certainly haven’t lost my appetite I’m constantly starving despite the heartburn.
Breathlessness comes and goes for me, some days I don’t get any other days I’m
Puffing away like I’ve ran a marathon.

Walking my dogs is becoming really hard now which makes me incredibly sad I feel like I’m abandoning them 😭 we used to walk 3 hours ago during the day then go again for a quick round the block before bed so now they’ve gotta wait until my other half is home from work or if my in laws kindly take them out. Poor doggies :(

GinGeum · 06/10/2018 12:34

Definitely with you all on the reflux thing, I’m mainly eating two meals of cereal a day with one proper meal at lunch time that I seem to pay for all afternoon. I keep feeling like my bump is getting smaller but actually I think I’m just not bloating to high heaven anymore because I’m not shovelling food down me every few minutes. I’m not too worried about the GTT now though, apart from how thirsty I seem to be in the middle of the night.

We have a cat but he doesn’t have a litter tray. I have to admit to being quite blasé about the whole toxoplasmosis thing though. I can’t see how I wouldn’t have had it already at some point in my life, what with having cats, living on a farm and regularly eating rare beef and venison. This is an interesting article about it from Tommy’s.

Pelly8 · 06/10/2018 12:58

Thank you so much for sharing that article @gingeum, it’s put my mind at rest!

Rarfy · 06/10/2018 19:20

It's definitely true the further along you get the smaller meals you can eat. I think it was touched upon in my antenatal class or on bump buddy to eat small meals more often.

I had horrendous heartburn thursday night and barely slept so detoured via morrisons on the way to work for a bottle of gaviscon. Feel like it starts every time i eat now which is putting me off eating.

Lovely hearing about things everyone is buying and to hear everyone is doing well.

Not at all baby related but had me rather excited, you've heard me talking about moving. Well we got our completion date on thursday for two weeks time so today i have been to lakeland for oven mate to sort our rental places oven out. O. M. G. That stuff is a revelation. I will never have a dirty oven ever again.

Merrz · 10/10/2018 15:04

Hey, how's everyone doing this week? I can't actually get my head round almost being 26 weeks Shock anyone else feel like it's flying past?

Harrypotterfan1604 · 10/10/2018 15:35

I’m struggling this week :( everything is just harder and the sciatica is driving me insane.
I’m 28 weeks on Friday I can’t actually believe it!! How are you @merrz??

RiskIt4Biscuit · 10/10/2018 16:26

I'm 27 weeks today, and I feel that time has gone by too quickly!
I had a great time visiting my parents, and my mum and I really bonded and did a lot of shopping.

I'm still struggling with a UTI without symptoms - it was treated a couple of weeks ago, but I've had a feeling that something was off, so went to the GP yesterday, who got the same result as before when testing my urine. So I'm now on some other antibiotics which I don't like because the side effects look really horrible (it's MacroBID/nitrofurantoin), but hopefully they're working.
Additionally - and probably because of the antibiotics, I also have thrush. The GP had a bit of a giggle about it, as it's so common during pregnancy and after taking antibiotics.
Hopefully it'll be gone soon.

Other than that, I'm actually feeling good, although the bump is getting in the way a bit when bending over to pick something up from the floor.

Harrypotterfan1604 · 10/10/2018 16:59

@riskit Fingers crossed this lot of antibiotics sorts you out.

Buttercup53 · 10/10/2018 17:32

@riskit I got the worst thrush of my life when I was on antibiotics a few weeks back. I managed to dodge it until the third week of the course and it was actually painful. Everything swelled up down there, manually inserting the pessery actually made me cry. You have my complete sympathy.

@harrypotter sorry you’re having such a hard time with the pain, has your GP or midwife recommended anything? I’m ok most of the time until bedtime, then my hips are agony during the night after laying on my side, it kept me awake for 2 hours last night in the early hours. Can’t wait until I can sleep on my back or front again.

Merrz · 10/10/2018 18:01

Aww sorry to hear you guys are having a tough time. Hope the antibiotics work @harrypotter I've never had thrush but sounds awful!
I'm actually feeling really good apart from starting to feel bump getting in the way, bending over is really uncomfortable.

cryptonaut · 10/10/2018 19:39

Bending over is also getting more difficult here. Given up on trying to shave my legs lol

@Buttercup53 someone in my class had the same issue, the instructor suggested a pillow between the knees, if you've already started doing this then try and add another pillow.

Buttercup53 · 10/10/2018 20:26

@cryptonaut I’ll give that a shot, thanks for the recommendation. I use a pregnancy pillow but maybe it’s not enough - I currently sleep with four pillows for my head and shoulders as it’s the only way I don’t get indigestion in the night, there isn’t going to be enough room for my DH in the bed if I keep adding more!

jennac · 10/10/2018 21:09

Sorry to hear that people have been struggling this week! I'm with you on the bending thing. Also if I crouch down to pick something up it's impossible to just bounce back up as I usually would! I'm 28 weeks today - helloo third trimester! Have 28 week appointment with midwife tomorrow, hope they're kind!

cryptonaut · 10/10/2018 21:53

How exciting @jennac! Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow.

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 10/10/2018 22:06

I'm so jealous of you all, I'm only 23+6 :( time seems to have stood still for me.

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 10/10/2018 22:08

riskit I had horrific sickness with nitrafuratoin, but it works so quickly!

Harrypotterfan1604 · 10/10/2018 22:08

I haven’t actually mentioned it to the midwife or Gp I don’t think it was so bad the last time I saw the midwife. I’m seeing the consultant again on Tuesday so I will mention it then.
I’ve slept with a pillow between my legs for ages now, some nights it helps other nights not so much. I get the same pain in my hips during the night :(
Prior to pregnancy I had a bad back so pregnancy had just made my back problems much worse xx

Pelly8 · 10/10/2018 22:52

I’m sorry to hear about the bad experiences! I’ve had sciatica on and off. It usually gets better when I have had a lie down. Sleeping with a pillow between my legs helps.

I’m 27 weeks tomorrow and my bump feels massive now. Everyone keeps on commenting on how big I am and it’s starting to tick me off. I feel like saying yes, I know, this tends to happen when !!! One of my colleagues told me my boobs were huge and that almost pushed me over the edge 😂

Bending down is really difficult now. I dread to think what the third trimester will be like. I’m working up until 37 weeks and am already dreading the thought of getting on the packed train to work!

jotinghil · 11/10/2018 05:48

Hi everyone my due date is on January 24, 2019.
and im so excited yet so anxious, Please pray for me and my baby.
hoping to deliver him/her normally with no birth defects.

Merrz · 11/10/2018 08:50

Lol Cryptonaut i don't think i'll be shaving my legs for much longer either although my leg hair isn't really growing much anyway.
jotinghil welcome, how have you been keeping? Think that's what we're all praying for here.
