Due January 2019 (3rd thread)

Starting a new thread for the January 2019 crew! Newcomers welcome :)

This week I suddenly feel really full. I can’t eat as much despite being starving and finding it hard now to put my socks on and moving a lot slower now.
I’ve missed out on the glowing stage too 🙈

I've been told a number of times by my 'well meaning' mother that it is too early for baby brain, I shouldn't be so tired, my bump is a certain shape etc etc. My sister is also expecting so there is a fair amount of comparison!!

We aren't telling anyone our names (not that we have picked them!) which is causing a fair amount of consternation especially as my sister is telling people (but not me, because I won't tell her!!) and it's making me feel like I'm weird for not telling! None of my friends did and I like idea of it being all a surprise.

The only thing I do know is that my sister and I have a variation of the same name as our #1 girls pick (hers is a shortened and mine is a longer versions if that makes sense). It's the only name I've told family about. For me that's totally made me think I can't have it - but she is still set on it and talks about whoever comes first gets it!? I'd feel terrible taking a name before her that I knew she liked (I'm due First) but maybe I'm just being sensitive!? It's been my fave name since I was about 15 (I read it in a book and loved it) so I don't want to give it up but she is telling everyone it is her fave so I feel I can't have it now I guess - serves me right for not sharing our names!

What is actually 3rd trimester? 27 or 28 weeks? Different places say different things!
Names are such a funny thing, we have openly discussed names in the early days with friends and family but now it's getting a bit more serious have stopped! Whatever name you choose SOMEONE will have an opinion but when baby is actually here and introduced as XXX I think all opinions go out the window (or at least people keep their opinions to themselves!)
I am definitely starting to feel pregnant now although have to say still feel pretty okay/normal, just slower! Had 25/26 week midwife appointment today and whooping cough and flu vaccine! Feel like I am at the start of a long count down now though as midwife appointments ramp up massively now. Just two weeks before each one make me feel like time might speed up a little bit... I hope it does I am too excited! We started talking about birth options today which made everything seem very real! Really want to go midwife led suite with water if possible but totally open to ALL the drugs too!
Plus ordered pram over the weekend. Can't wait for it to be delivered!

@LJFM2B I think the Facebook group is for another January thread on the antenatal board - would be great if you could share those details with everyone here though, as I don’t think we’ve got a Facebook page (someone correct me if I’m wrong and I’ve just missed it somewhere!).

got a midwife appointment this afternoon. Hope they listen to the heartbeat 💗

@Buttercup53 this is the only one im on so im sure its this one ... i will get the admin to post how to join!! everyones welcome :) i know its not for everybody but its great we share bumpdates, scan pictures, ask any questions we need, do polls, add any concerns or excitements and even maternity clothing advice.

I have joined a Due in January Facebook group, but I don’t know if it’s the right one. Would be good if there’s another one as I don’t feel like I have very much in common with the people on my current Facebook group!

Got my 25 week appointment in about 45 minutes, in my area it's with the GP. Not really sure what to expect.

Iv written the message on the facebook group so when the admin see's it she will no doubt come on here and give you the instructions (i think you just have to email her or send her your name so she can add you as a friend before adding to the group) ... its private to the outside world so any TMI and all that jazz is welcome! xx

@GinGeum @Kate123cl If you are both on there and dont feel like its very supportive or what your looking for why dont you put a suggestion up for topics? Iv found it really good and hopefully can be useful to you too ... equally if your on another one why dont you join ours :) xx

I think I’m on the Kicks Count one, not the blue circle one or the Mumsnet one!
I feel bad because they are all very nice and supportive on the group, I just feel they are all a lot younger than me and have lots of different views/priorities (which is fine, but I’m finding it hard to relate IYKWIM)

I'm on a due in Jan group and also a due in late Jan group (not a mumsnet one as didn't know there was one) however have continued posting here too as many of us have been on our journeys since the very early days.

I've just bought a new car seat and isofix base. I had a maxi cosi pebble from last pregnancy but they only last 10 years from manufacturing so not safe to use.
