I have started buying things - and so has my mum.
Granted, everything we have bought so far does come with a 365 day return policy, but still.
I'm getting the pram in a few days - the shop is still waiting for it. As I've mentioned a few times (too many), I'm buying the pram in Denmark. If I had found it in the UK or if I lived in Denmark, I would happily have waited with buying it.
So far my mum and I have bought:
Voksi bag (a type of sleeping bag to use in the pram instead of using a lift and blankets/duvets - it's supposed to be suitable for 3 years, and can also be used as a little blanket, rather than have the baby lying on a (dirty) floor somewhere. My mum offered to buy this one for me, which was really lovely.
Duvets (thin ones, for the bed and/or pram). I got two so I have a spare in case one needs a wash in the middle of the night. There's a big tag on stating it's space technology or space certified, so my DH and my dad both thought it was very exciting.
Duvet covers. They also come with pillow covers, but I will not use a pillow yet and therefore have not bought one.
Sophie la Giraffe set - comes with the classic rubber giraffe and a soft toy version. It was reduced by 50% and is very sweet.
Some nice warm swaddles (gift from my mum)
Muslins (gift from my mum)
Adaptors for the pram so I can use the car seat on the frame
My mum also bought some clothes - some little white plain cotton onesies, and a warm woolen onesie.
We got 20% off everything that was not already reduced, so I'm happy to have bought these things now, rather than waiting, especially as I'm buying abroad and the pound seems to be dropping, which is making shopping more and more expensive.
I've also bought yarn for my mum, as she knits - and she has also bought some herself, as well as a book with patterns and ideas for knitting for babies.
I must admit that baby shops are absolutely scary places for me. I've only just realised how tiny newborns are, and how much stuff we may have to buy.
