Thanks guys :)

gingeum I've lost 2kg, but with baby being so small I haven't actually got a bump as such yet.

I'm due 31st January, so depending on how the rest of the pregnancy goes, I may end up in January or February, I'm not sure yet.

Rarfy · 25/09/2018 10:36

On one set of scales i have stayed there same. Well lost then put back on. Thats the hospital digital ones. By the midwives old school ones i think i had put.on 2kg at last weigh in.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 25/09/2018 10:41

I've gained 4 kg since my first appointment.

I have to admit that I was quite active before getting pregnant - swimming 4-5 times a week, doing pilates most days and walking loads every day, and now I'm not as I've been incredibly busy with work and I've been so tired that I've only had the energy to go to sleep.

I need to do something about it.

ladydanger · 25/09/2018 13:08

Well I've put on 6kg so far and I'm only 22 weeks! My midwife said not to worry as they don't weigh mothers to be anymore as it can vary so much.

purplesmiler · 25/09/2018 13:18

I was referred to the dietician due to my BMI had my first appointment last week and weighed the same as at my booking in so going ok on that front so far.

Merrz · 25/09/2018 14:23

I haven't actually weighed myself since my BFP, i've weighed myself weekly for as long as i can remember but figure to hell this 9 months i can stop looking at the scales. I might regret that once baby is here Hmm
On a similar front is anyone starting to feel they get full really quick when eating? Just this last few days i've noticed i feel really full up after meals, i had a bowl of soup and couple slices of bread for lunch and felt like i'd eaten a full xmas dinner after

Wowthisisreal · 25/09/2018 15:42

@Merrz I wish! My appetite is all over the place but I could eat two breakfasts, two lunches and no dinner tbh which is so strange for me because I have never been one to have breakfast! I'm also able to eat ALL of the sweet foods. We had the Macmillan coffee morning at work today and honestly I took about 4 cakes - all for a good cause!

But honestly for someone who lost 3 stone before getting pregnant on SW it's worrying me that it's completely gone out the window. Last time I weighed myself I had put on 1/2 a stone since BFP - not sure what that is in Kg?

Buttercup53 · 25/09/2018 16:21

I lost half a stone in the first trimester, and I’ve gained a stone total (not sure in kg). I find that I’m hungry a lot but I can’t eat a lot all at once as my stomach gets uncomfortably full quickly, and then half an hour later I feel really hungry again. So I’m grazing a lot - so far I’ve only gained weight on my stomach so I feel like I’m doing something with all the extra calories, and if I was eating like this normally I’d be gaining weight much more rapidly. Obsessed with Belgian buns at the minute, anything cakey with icing. I also crave creamy stuff but as I’m lactose intolerant it’s easy for me to avoid.

OP posts:
Merrz · 25/09/2018 16:48

Oh yeah sweet stuff is my downfall too, feel like the only thing I've actually craved is chocolate but I've always had a sweet tooth so think that might be a rubbish excuse lol.
I don't know what i'm having and have heard sweet cravings = girl so we'll see if that's true in January.
I think 1 stone is just over 6kgs. (2.2lbs/kg)

Quirkycutekitch2011 · 25/09/2018 17:52

I lost a stone in the 1st 3 months and last time I weighed I put about 6lb back on - haven’t weighed for a while - cos of my height BMI the midwife wants me to put nothing on.

I’ve gone off chocolate/sweet things in both my pregnancies and both boys.

cryptonaut · 25/09/2018 18:15

Haven't weighed myself in a while, but last time I did I hadn't put much on. I also find that I can fill up quickly some days and then am hungry again not long afterwards. I put this down to baby being high up and squishing the stomach so it can't hold as much at once. Some days I can eat loads though.

Kate123cl · 25/09/2018 18:26

I lost 12kgs in the first trimester and have since put 2kgs back on so I'm still 10kg lighter than before which isn't a bad thing... I had quite a few kgs to spare!

Rarfy · 25/09/2018 18:34

I'm having a girl and quite enjoying hot choc with cream and marshmallows. I went through a phase in the first couple of month of eating cream cakes which i wouldn't normally.

Harrypotterfan1604 · 25/09/2018 18:35

I think I’ve gained about 3kg but that’s going off my own scales. I haven’t been weighed since my booking appointment. I’m trying really hard not to gain too much I’m already overweight I don’t have the extra weight to gain really and I’m worried about is once I’ve had baby. It’s not easy though, my appetite is so messed up, and all I want is junk food :( trying to resist!

GinGeum · 25/09/2018 18:37

I can’t stop eating chocolate and I’m having a boy! Did want only lemons or very salty crisps in first trimester though.

Rarfy · 25/09/2018 18:54

I craved lemons with my son @GinGeum used to eat them like satsumas

GinGeum · 25/09/2018 19:42

Same here Rarfy! I got married at 13 weeks and my husband kept finding me disappeared off to the kitchen to suck on a lemon Grin

SuperVeggie · 25/09/2018 19:58

I have gained over 6kg and I’m only 22 weeks! But to be fair I was a little underweight to start with (turns out I’d had undiagnosed coeliacs for years and now it’s hard to gain weight on such a restricted diet). I also wasn’t physically sick at all in first trimester but had to eat lots to ease the nausea. According to the stuff I’ve read you should aim to put on a bit more weight in pregnancy if you have a low BMI to start with so hope I’ll be ok.

SophieStripe · 25/09/2018 20:05

I have only been weighed at 12 and 20 week scans and both were exactly the same! Not sure how, had a lot of nausea but no vomiting. Have eaten a lot of cards! (and other stuff that I probably shouldn't eat!). I was overweight already (by about 2 stone) so I'm not complaining and baby is measuring well etc. Am 25 weeks now so will be interested to see how bump is measuring at next midwife appointment. I still feel that it's quite small! The only thing I can think of due to little weight gain is the benefits of not drinking wine and also like someone else has said, 2nd tri I have found myself getting uncomfortably full after a fairly small meal!

purplesmiler · 25/09/2018 20:51

My main crave is salty and strong flavours but I didn't have a big sweet tooth before pregnancy.

Buttercup53 · 26/09/2018 07:21

I have the GTT test this morning, I know a few of you guys do in a couple of weeks so I’ll let you all know what it’s like afterwards.

OP posts:
cryptonaut · 26/09/2018 08:06

Good luck with the GTT today.

Sorry guys I feel like I need a moan today. I've had a cold since Sunday and I feel like absolute crap! Sinus headaches, constantly blocked/runny nose, my lips are so dry cracked and sore from only being able to breathe out of my mouth for several days, and yesterday I had several sneezing fits which has caused me some pain in my back and bump :( called in sick at work today so I can rest up.

Sorry again for the moan. I hope everyone else is doing well.

raffat89 · 26/09/2018 08:59

@cryptonaut I know how you feel, I've been really struggling with a cough and sore throat for ages. Seems to be taking a lot longer to get over things. Rest up and really hope you feel better soon.

In terms of the weight stuff I've been finding this really helpful - www.babycenter.com/pregnancy-weight-gain-estimator. I'm now 5kgs up but was on holiday in France last week and ate every pastry in sight but still within the right range on this which I find reassuring. Definitely back to healthy eating this week... though I will miss all the croissants.

Also I have just spotted there's a sale on New Look Maternity - www.newlook.com/uk/womens/sale/maternity-clothing/c/uk-womens-sale-maternity-clothing. There's some real bargains on there if anyone is looking to top up their autumn/winter wardrobe.

Rarfy · 26/09/2018 09:22

I had the GTT a fee years ago it didn't really bother me tbh. I would say take something with you for entertainment though. The nurses are busy and i dont remember it being exactly 2 hours between tests. Good luck.

Sorry to everyone full of cold. It's awful when pregnant and you can't do much for it. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Buttercup53 · 26/09/2018 09:53

I’m an hour into it, and the waiting room is uncomfortable because it’s very hot, some of the other patients are huffing and puffing about a bit, one woman keeps saying she feels sick. I feel ok, not the best I’ve ever felt and I’m certainly a little bit queasy but the drink itself and immediately afterwards was the worst part. Hopefully the next hour will go quickly - luckily I’ve brought a book! For anyone else worrying about it, the nurse said they can’t predict how each individual person will react to it, some people will feel very ill while others will be fine.
