Baby has given me a few kicks today starting to distinguish what's baby and what's my belly lol. Also DH has been able to see my belly vibrating which was fab.

SuperVeggie · 24/09/2018 19:55

Hi gang. I seem to have missed a big convo on this group but I can be quite opinionated so it’s probably for the best that I didn’t get involved. I hope everyone is ok. I’m feeling lots of movement now which is fine but starting to get a bit anxious about the responsibility of having to keep track of how much she moves and notice and reductions. I’m terrified I will miss the signs of a problem and not notice soon enough. I’m quite anxious though and this isn’t helped by being high risk. The only thing that seems to reassure me is a scan but my next one isn’t for another 6 weeks, I had one two weeks ago so still a long way off. Anyone else struggling with this?

Rarfy · 24/09/2018 20:00

I'm really worried about movements. I think that's part of the reason i am so exhausted. Sometimes baby is really lively and her little kicks shock me. Sometimes i barely feel her all day and it frightens me. Im only 21+6 with an anterior placenta too so i know i am being unreasonable but with my history i just can't help it.

SuperVeggie · 24/09/2018 20:05

@Rarfy I also have an anterior placenta, really doesn’t help does it! Some days I feel her loads and really strongly and then I’ll barely feel her the next day. The logical part of me knows that she is still small enough to hide or not feel as strong and the placenta is also dampening some of her kicks. Doesn’t stop me from feeling anxious though!

SuperVeggie · 24/09/2018 20:06

Oh and I’m 22+1, so we’re only 2 days apart!

Rarfy · 24/09/2018 20:11

Oh thank goodness for that - someone to share my kick anxiety with. I wouldn't care i felt her quite early on about 16weeks so i keep thinking i should have a good routine by now but i really dont. Think how i'm sat massively impacts what i feel and also whether i'm busy or not. I really struggled at the wken worrying then today when back at work she has been mental. Laid in bed already thinking i cant face work tomo. I hope i wake up tomo feeling better.

SuperVeggie · 24/09/2018 20:56

Oh Rarfy sorry you're struggling. Hope you feel better tomorrow. Mine has been exactly the same, really quiet over the weekend and then going crazy today. Sometimes I even start to worry if she's moving too much! These next 16 weeks can't go quickly enough for me (delivering at 38) but I've got a feeling they're going to drag. Trying to think of ways to distract myself and make the time go quickly, keep busy etc but it's hard. Was just saying to my DH that this is a sort of limbo time, where you feel like you've been pregnant for ages but you've still got ages left to go. I'm finishing work at 35 weeks just before Xmas and so if I can count down the next 13 weeks it will be nearly time!

Buttercup53 · 24/09/2018 20:59

I also have had some movement worry, and I’m 25 weeks now. I spoke to my midwife about it last week as I said some days it feels like I can feel every single movement he makes all day, and others only the occasional kick throughout the day. She said until 28 weeks, he won’t establish a pattern, and the only thing to worry about is whether he moves frantically, or if I feel nothing at all for hours and hours. I’ve found that if I drink a very cold, very fizzy drink, it makes him move, so I do that occasionally for reassurance. I really think they still have loads of room to move and roll about, so some days he’s really close to the surface of my stomach, and some days he’s maybe facing my back or lower down.

@SuperVeggie weird. I am being induced two weeks early too! So will finish about 20th december. Thought that would be fine but honestly today i have been wondering how i will get that far. I think i'm just tired. Ive breezed this pregnancy all things considered so hopefully a good sleep will have me feeling better tomo. Thats useful to know what your midwife said. Thank you for the advice. I did keep trying chocolate to get her going ha!

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 24/09/2018 21:50

So jealous of all of you being due early January, even without early induction, I'm the last due date in the group :(

Harrypotterfan1604 · 24/09/2018 22:05

To you guys worrying over movements that was me 3 weeks ago. I’m now 25+3 with an anterior placenta and have def establishe a pattern of movement without even releasing it. I know baby moves first thing in the morning, after I’ve eaten and especially if I’ve had a very cold drink and last thing at night too. This baby also seems to like 2-4am 🙄

purplesmiler · 24/09/2018 22:15

I'm due at the end too @Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly your not alone.

SuperVeggie · 24/09/2018 22:44

I would be due 27th Jan and so might not have even had her until Feb (especially as I think my dates are actually a week ahead from what they should be) but as I’m delivering at 38 weeks I think it will be around the 14th. I have been given the option of a planned section or an induction, not sure which to choose, so hard to decide! I’m meant to be talking to the consultant about it at 28 weeks so trying not to think about it too much til then...

HolDaws · 25/09/2018 06:56

I'm so glad to see the movement conversation this morning as woke up totally worries about it. I'm 24+1 with an anterior placenta and sometimes feel her loads and some days not that much at all. Do we think this is normal or do you think I should go get checked? Have my 25week appointment next week so was gonna ask for the dopler then xx

HazzaBee · 25/09/2018 07:00

Hi ladies, I’m a bit late to mumsnrt but would love to join in the chats. Been worrying about movements and 26 weeks today, due on 1st of Jan! Reassuring to read your posts about how much your babies are moving. Scary being a first time mum!

Quirkycutekitch2011 · 25/09/2018 07:14

I get different patterns of movement too - I find days I’m in work I feel him a lot more - possibly because I’m sat down & he’s a bit squashed. My son came into bed for a cuddle last night & the baby did one kick - I like to think he was saying hi big bro! Smile

Rarfy · 25/09/2018 07:25

Im due 29th jan so being induced 15th or maybe at 37 weeks depending on how things are looking. At the moment ny placenta is covering the exit. It should move but if not it will have to be a c section. It siunds like were all the same with movements so maybe that means its quite normal. Its reassuring the official trackinf starts at 28wks.

Buttercup53 · 25/09/2018 07:38

I’ve been really worried about this too so anything I get really worried about I try to rationalise. If it’s helpful for anyone else, the way I think about it is that they say you will notice a pattern, but it’s important to remember a pattern doesn’t mean the exact same movements at the exact same time, because babies are human and therefore not 100% predictable. Like for me, he will usually move after I’ve eaten, and increasingly throughout the day so he will move more at night than during the day. But it’s not at the same time every single day, so as long as I do feel him move generally around the time/event id expect him to, it’s ok. Also I think it depends on what’s happening with your body. This might be TMI but I’ve had a really bad stomach over the last couple of days, and as such I haven’t felt his movements as strongly (I swear some days I can practically feel him blink), but throughout the pregnancy I’ve found once my stomach goes back to normal, I feel his movements a lot more, probably because I’m not bloated anymore. At the end of the day though, if you’re worried, call your midwife or triage to ask for advice. I have a drop in midwife I can see once per week, and there’s a 24\7 triage service, I’ve used both services when I’ve been worried and they’ve been nothing but accommodating and reassuring. Pregnancy is a really short period of time, so even if you went every week, it’s not the same as going to a&e every week in terms of resources, it is there for you to use for less than a year so don’t feel worried about wasting time. That’s how I try to think of it all anyway, if it’s a useful thought process for anyone else.

That's really good advice @Buttercup53. Thanks.

doleritedinosaur · 25/09/2018 08:18

Fantastic advice from @Buttercup53 if you’re worried about movement always speak to midwife/triage especially as they would rather reassure you than have you worrying. @Rarfy I’m sorry about your previous losses, have you mentioned your worries to midwife? As I would be surprised if they didn’t offer extra Dopplers at least to help you. @irony good news about the fluid, sorry the procedure was painful & I hope the test results aren’t too long for you. This is my second anterior placenta & until the baby is bigger, around 27/28 weeks it is hard to establish a pattern. Lying down & practising my hypnobirthing helps me pick up movements. I know when I’m running around after my DC I especially don’t notice as many movements. But when baby kicks up high or low, or does a big roll then I notice it. Is anyone else’s enter key not working on the app? Sorry if this looks a mess. Think I’ve picked up another cold. My due date is 28th Jan but I’ve never got to 40 weeks so this could be interesting. OH has to over see his place of work from 10th Jan for 18 days so I’ve said the 11th Grin. Hope all of you with worries find a way to not be, it’s definitely understandable.

doleritedinosaur · 25/09/2018 08:25

Sorry that looks a right mess!

RiskIt4Biscuit · 25/09/2018 09:36

Irony I hope everything goes well for you, you've definitely not had an easy start to this, and I'm so sorry the amnio hurt so much :(

My GP called yesterday to give me the result of my urine sample, and I do have a UTI, so I have started taking tablets. I still don't think I have noticed any symptoms of a UTI (and I have had them in the past), but it looks like it's not too uncommon.

I'm flying home to see my parents in a few days - I'll be there over the weekend, and I am really looking forward to it.
It will be the last time I go home until I give birth which is a bit sad for me - we usually go back for Christmas, and my parents have said they don't want to come here for Christmas as it's too much work for us.
I've made a list of things I forgot to buy, so my mum and I will be going shopping for a few things that aren't available in the UK (such as sheets in certain sizes for the pram). I only have hand luggage this time, so I need to be careful not to buy too much...

Rarfy · 25/09/2018 09:42

Thanks @doleritedinosaur. I am having scans every four weeks so that is reassuring even though i hate them. I think its hust a stressful time all round with nt history as key times are approaching from my previous pregnancy. I wont go into detail as i know once something gets in your head you start to wonder about it too and pregnancy should be happy and positive. Not to start the debate again but reading the flu jab stuff on here yesterday has put the fear of god into me.

Rarfy · 25/09/2018 09:44

Sorry that reads terribly. I dont mean happy and positive i understand pregnancy can be frightening and worrying and have been there myself i just dont want my concerns affecting other peoples journeys especially if already going through a difficult time.

GinGeum · 25/09/2018 10:00

How is everyone doing weight wise? I keep reading things that suggest I should be gaining a lot more weight than I have, but my bump is a decent size so I don’t know how I haven’t gained more (unless my mum’s weighing scales are broken...)
I’ve gained 2.2kg so far and I’m 25 weeks.
