Good luck to you all having babies!
@Olive just to give you another view point - at 34 weeks they estimated my boy to be 6.5lb after an emergency growth scan because I was measuring too small. Booked me in for an induction so I didn't go over as they said I was looking at a 9lb baby and I am tiny. He was born one day before his due date at 7lb 2oz Hmm
I know it's not your first so you know none of it's accurate but just thought I'd tell you my story. And if you're interested I wouldn't go through with the induction again, hated it and ended up with a section as I wasn't dilating fast enough.

OliveOrTwist · 25/08/2018 19:43

Weasel I'm definitely interested, thank you. Its my first baby. When i was referring to my third, I meant cold whilst being pg [blush after reading it back, its really not obvious tho, sorry! They measured mine at 7lb11oz at 36 weeks. Growth has slowed down so now got to have another scan at 38 weeks Hmm They can't seem to make their minds up.

weaselwomble · 25/08/2018 21:32

@Olive (forgotten how to tag properly, sorry)
Sorry I misread that, trying to read too quickly. When you say slowed down do you mean your midwife measuring your bump? That's exactly what happened to me, she said he hadn't grown in three weeks (static growth I think it's called?). Then in the scan they were like no this baby is huge Grin and I was also carrying a lot of extra amniotic fluid so I have no idea how my bump hadn't changed at all, he must have just been lay funny on the day or something. All I was trying to say was don't worry too much!
If I can just offer a little bit more advice (feel free to ignore me though, I've only had one so I'm hardly an expert!) - if they offer you an induction because baby is big find out as much as you possibly can about the procedure at your hospital. I was told pretty much nothing by my midwife and some of that was wrong anyway. If I'd have known for example that you can't eat or drink once your on the drip, that you have to dilate at a certain rate etc then I really would have opted out of it. My friend was induced at the hospital in the next borough for the same reasons as me and they did it completely different to mine. Just be prepared that's all. Good luck! Do you know what you're having?

SlimGin · 26/08/2018 22:58

Couldn't find any raspberry leaf tea in any supermarkets! I'll head into Holland and Barrett but that shop always confuses me. Got my exercise ball though and put the cot up today Grin
I'm so nervous, I don't feel 'ready', not sure I ever will?

K9pal7 · 27/08/2018 16:13

I think i brought the wrong tea 😂 oh well tase nice. I haven't brought an exercise ball am departing wherever to get one or not as me and my partner are every active in the bedroom still 🙈

OliveOrTwist · 27/08/2018 18:09

weasel No it was based on scan measurements. I had a scan at 32 weeks then another at 36 plus a last one at 38.

slim I don't feel ready either. I'm ready to not be pregnant but I'm not sure I'm ready for a baby.

Anyone else exhausted atm? I've laid about all weekend just feeling knackered getting nothing done. Its frustrating, I had loads I wanted to get done.

ichifanny · 27/08/2018 18:24

I’m totally knackered feel like I’m shoveling snow in a snow storm at the moment with regards to housework and tidying . Trying to clean out our spare room to get nursery ready but could cry everytime I try to tackle it . So tired and get ridiculous braxton hicks when I try to do anything .
Went for growth scan today and baby 6 pounds 13 and has a week of growing to do until c section next week so that was nice , baby was furiously sucking her hands and fingers and it was lovely to see .

Katjolo · 27/08/2018 19:29

I'm knackered too. Basically on the sofa for most days. Hosted a dinner party yesterday (not really my idea) and by the end, my back was killing me. Baby bump seems to have lowered too.

Baby2018 · 27/08/2018 20:22

Due mid / end september, Iooking forward to being able to roll over in bed without using my arms to shift myself, getting out of bed without sliding off the bed like a seal from a rock. Drinking Gin, eating soft cheese and pate and of course meeting our baby!

Fingers crossed we don't go late!

Poptart4 · 27/08/2018 22:22

Its my birthday next week. Ive told dh i want a large bottle of Vodka and a box of chocolates. I obviously cant drink and i have gestational diabetes so i cant eat the chocolates either but it will give me something to look forward to. As well as meeting my baby 😉

My consultant and midwife agree i can be induced at 39 weeks if baby hasn't come itself by then. So 5 weeks or less to go 🤞

orphanblack1 · 28/08/2018 08:48

Another one knackered here. Love the description of sliding off bed - perfect description of what it feels/looks like!

I finish work Thursday and really want to scrub everything to within an inch of its life but have really bad SPD which prevents me from doing a whole lot - so frustrating as will have the time but not the means!

wonderstar1216 · 28/08/2018 09:40

Hey all, I'm 35+6 today. This baby can't come soon enough! Every time I sit down on the sofa I nod off!
I've had loads of troubles, extra growth scans, possible GD but then not, too much fluid. It's safe to say she's a going to be a big girl when she's out. She also can't decide which was round to be. Emergency scan last tues as she was breech and she's turned the right way round again. By the time we'd got to the midwife on Friday she was breech again. She's doing a full turn each day.
I've got one of those midwife check ups at home this afternoon, not sure what to expect? It's for about an hour and not with my usual midwife, they just wrote to me. Considering this is my third child I'm not sure what they can tell me??

Halfeatentoast · 28/08/2018 16:12

Well I've just woken up from a nap and if it wasn't for the fact DS needs to get up I would lay here all day. I'm shattered.

wonderstar what did they say? Is it worth you checking out the "spinning babies" website? I guess not if she keeps moving back out of position? Still early days maybe? Hhmm.

wonderstar1216 · 28/08/2018 17:26

I've had an awesome nap ds2!
She was just on about safe sleeping, bottle feeding, etc etc. Nothing I didn't already know!
Got given red book and some reading books for unborn!

wonderstar1216 · 28/08/2018 17:26

@Halfeatentoast not heard of that website thanks I'll have a look

OliveOrTwist · 28/08/2018 20:24

*poptart those presents sound amazing!

Is everyone on maternity leave now? I'm working till 39 weeks, regretting it slightly now. 8 days to go!

K9pal7 · 28/08/2018 20:30

Am on leave, i was going to work until i was a 38 weeks (which would have been this week) but couldn't carry on as i was on my feet all day and was in pain with my back and feet. At least you haven't got long left

On leave from 5pm Thurs. was going to stay another week due to neighbours bloody builders all over shared driveway not msking it exactly pleasant to be off, but have had enough of Work so sticking to finish date. So sick of people bothering me on projects I’ve already left because person it’s been left with (who has also been involved throughout) is too lazy to deal and thinks Im just here to pick it up!!!

wonderstar1216 · 28/08/2018 23:40

I aiming for 14 sept if she doesn't arrive early!

OliveOrTwist · 29/08/2018 21:44

Lucy I went for the Ocarro too but in Sage Green. Its currently in my mum's spare room (except for the car seat which I have here) can't wait to get it here and use it! Jealous of your furry hood though, mine doesn't have that Sad

LucyLou19 · 29/08/2018 21:52

@olive they’re lovely to push etc arnt they! Brought the car seat home with us too. The fur I bought from the shop we got the pram was £20 I think it just clips on xx

Can I join? Due 11th sep, 3rd baby. Have 2 daughters aged 3 and 5. School holidays have gone surprisingly well but they have got used to playing by themselves more than usual and I’ve fallen asleep by accident a few times while they were out in the garden Blush

Currently not enjoying piles, terrible sleep, backaches, nausea.

Weird time to have a baby due with the school year cut off!

SlimGin · 30/08/2018 09:57

@lucy that pram is beautiful!
@olive yes you summed it up well: ready to not be pregnant but not sure if ready for a baby. I'm just doing tons of reading and asking my family questions esp my mum who's a midwife. I don't think anyone ever feels 100% ready, but we can prepare ourselves as much as possible.
How is everyone today? I had growth scan on Tuesday (baby's weighing 6lbs at 36+3) and I finally got the raspberry leaf tea. In the waiting room for my 36w midwife appt right now.

SlimGin · 30/08/2018 10:00

@love sorry you're uncomfortable :( have you got cream for the piles?
