Hey Everyone,

I'm due on the 21st and I'm so over this pregnancy now. The Consultant last week mentioned induction due to blood pressure issues in my last pregnancy but I declined. I know too many people with failed attempts and a CS is too risky for me.

Spent the weekend decorating 2 bedrooms as we swapped then so both DSs will be in the same room. Absolutely knackering!!

Just need to fine tune my hospital bag and I'm ready. Roll on September!

LucyLou19 · 21/08/2018 08:57

We’ve just finished decorating babies room! Gone for a safari theme! Really weird after two girls you’d think i would of wanted all blue but we’ve been opposite 😍had so many lovely compliments xx

Need to steer on the tea.
Am no where ready nursery wise for my little girl. Still Need to decorate it. Got moses basket so it's not too bad if she did come before it's all done

LucyLou19 · 21/08/2018 10:35

We’ve got a tutti bambini crib for our bedroom,OH put that up on Sunday really glad we went with that one it’s so spacious and big for baby 👌🏼

I'm due 26th with my first! Still got another 3 weeks at work (it seemed like a good idea at the time to work as late as possible but I'm so fed up with it now).

I've started on raspberry leaf tea capsules this past weekend. They don't sell the tea in my Tesco and I'm not a big fan of fruit teas anyway, so hopefully it has the same effect! Also having a few dates every day and keep nagging DH to look in the loft for my exercise ball so I can start bouncing on that.

Not sure how else to start preparing - wanted to start perineal massage but honestly can't reach haha! Have any of you ladies been doing it, or have your DHs been happy to help out? Need to have a conversation with him about that!

Hope you're all feeling well and not too fed up!

LucyLou19 · 21/08/2018 11:00

@coffee no that’s one thing I’m not keen on doing is the massage but if this isn’t your first pregnancy that doesn’t work anyway as the perineal has already been stretched before I’ve read that somewhere. This is my 3rd pregnancy,I don’t break of work till the 7th September hoping something has happened by then to be honest xx

I had n't last shift last Tuesday then rest of the week as holiday. Yesterday was my 1st official day of leave. So glad i finished when i did was going to work an extra week or so but couldn't mange it (on my feet all day) i did really well to make it to 35+5 with my job. Now it's time to relax a little before baby comes.

Marriageoftrueminds · 21/08/2018 14:18

Hi everyone! Great thread! I’m due 24th September, it’s my first and it’s a boy. I too have the ‘big things’ sorted but not all the little bits, I need loads of things including thermometer for the bath, etc etc. I don’t feel emotionally ready though, although I’m very excited!

orphanblack1 · 21/08/2018 19:01

I’m due 17th but have a c section booked for 12th - not sure if I’ll go through with it yet though

So over the whole pregnancy thing now. But petrified of labour at the same time

K9pal7 · 21/08/2018 20:25

I am so scared for labour and birth. I think it scares me more if something goes wrong more than the pain it self. Am hoping to have a water birth and everything goes smooth. 🤞

OliveOrTwist · 21/08/2018 21:30

9lb3oz at 37 weeks @lucylou19 Shock That is insane! Your nursery is gorgeous. Where is that cot from, i love it!

They said today that the growth has tailed off and I'm now in the normal range again. Got another scan in 2 weeks to make sure it doesn't drop off further but its looking like no induction needed which is such a relief.

k9 I've done an online hypnobirthing course which has really helped me feel ready for birth. I'm actually weirdly looking forward to it Confused although not yet! Totally not ready for a baby yet!

LucyLou19 · 21/08/2018 21:31

Don’t stress about things you can’t control that’s my motto regarding labour 😂😂

OP posts:
K9pal7 · 21/08/2018 21:46

True, i think it's because my mum and sister both had emergency c-seation with their 1st child with makes me worry more than i should Confused.
@OliveOrTwist what did you do the online course on?

LucyLou19 · 21/08/2018 22:13

Hypnobirthing is supposed to be soooo good! We have a new unit with water pools in and all relaxing lighting etc really hope I can use it this time as my other births were natural with no pain relief. It’s a mamas and papas cot hun xx

Its called the positive birth company. I paid £35 for the digital pack as I suddenly panicked that I'd done no antenatal classes or birth prep, but I think there are some free youtube videos.

I'm actually only 60% through and I've already found it really helpful even not fully completed. I'm trying to get a move on as i want to make sure I definitely finish before the baby comes, but its hard fitting it in with working FT, baby prepping and usual boring life stuff like chores.

K9pal7 · 22/08/2018 19:23

I'll have to check it out. I haven't been to any classes and now am starting to think is it a bad thing 🤷‍♀️
I just want my little girl here now 🤣 i would do anything to give birth 3 weeks before my due date

LucyLou19 · 22/08/2018 20:36

I had midwife today heads fully down explains the grinding and lightening pain said it’s probably popping in and out the head but won’t fully engage till labour with it been my third baby.
Hoping for a couple of weeks early xx

K9pal7 · 22/08/2018 21:01

From about 30 weeks baby has mostly been head down so hopefully when i goback next week she's still same.🤞
Have you felt that this pregnancy gone fast?
I feel like it's still only yesterday i found out

funinthesun18 · 22/08/2018 21:31

Hello due date twin! Grin
I have my midwife appointment tomorrow. Baby wasn’t engaged two weeks ago so I wonder if anything has changed since then.

LucyLou19 · 22/08/2018 22:13

Feel like it’s absolutely flown by!!!! Literally I’ve blinked and it’s gone! Not complaining though! @fun have you felt any pressure or anything? Checked my notes it said baby at the brim xx

Rockandrollwithit · 22/08/2018 22:15

This thread is making me feel very nostalgic as I had DC2 on Sept 11th last year. It's such a lovely time of year to have a baby and they are still so cute and squishable for their first Christmas.

Good luck everyone Smile

funinthesun18 · 22/08/2018 22:23

I know it’s definitely flown by this pregnancy! This year has gone so quick and I can’t believe we’re nearing the end of August already. I’m not complaining either Smile
I’ve felt a lot of pressure really low down and baby keeps having fun battering my bladder! When I walk I can definitely feel a lot of pressure. If I’m doing housework which involves bending down I swear it feels like baby has dropped! I keep getting Braxton Hicks too.

I’m so nervous about the birth. I know I have to do it but I’m still in a sort of denial that I have to do it again! Grin

Stroller15 · 22/08/2018 22:24

What a good thread to come across! 2nd DS due on 13 Sept by elective c section - first boy was born by EMCS. So over this pregnancy now, feel uncomfortable all the time! Working till 31st Aug but think I should take 1 or 2 days annual leave next week. I worry if I had time to mentally prepare for this baby, feels like I had much more belly rubbing time first time round.

Good luck everyone!
